I'm not saying advice here is worthless but don't forget that recently you had some guys telling you to spend $1600 on a computer and another guy telling you to spend $200 for a new hard drive on your old one! (Who told you in the first post maybe not to pay attention to him. LOL)

Try things out and have fun.
Actually, I don't like a lot of views on TV... I wish they would just give me a wide view of the field most of the time and then occasionally go to other views and cameras... occasion zooming in.

I am very happy with the wide views on all cameras in the game... but I'm afraid I am missing out on some great cameras settings that would really enhance my enjoyment.

On TV I would like to see the pitch camera behind home plate and not behind the pitcher.

My favorite place to watch a game at the ballpark is behind home plate, one level above the prime seats... in the second tier.

I wish the TV cameras would stop giving me dugout views so much.

I wish the broadcasters would stop trying to fill every moment of air time with comments and stats... during the recent World Series, often I would turn the sound off to get rid of their incessant jabber and dribble.

Sorry for the digression and rant... I should stay on topic.

I will post it here when I decide which to use.

I hope a lot of gamers will share their settings here... the more I get to choose from, the better my animation should be.
I can post my settings here later - I altered the default and wide camera views as well, making them closer to the field and lower. I have been using the dynamic cameras as well as following the ball. I'm not crazy about the RF and LF line views as they are too far away from the action and are used too often during infield plays, so I may remove those two cameras from the dynamic rotation.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Rock on!

I use the high, behind HP view in OOTP. Switching makes me dizzy.

Camera switching bothers me, too.

I don't lose the ball when I use the wide views...from the 3rd Base Stands.

I pretty much watch my games (no pause between pitches) and have about 7.5 seconds between pitches/plays. It probably takes about an hour or so to watch a game. I am the GM only, so I like to see what's going on with my team in terms of manager decisions/players/opponent players.

I watch all of the games from the "press box" view behind home plate. I like realism, so my players are the smallest they can be, as well as the ball. I don't like having Giant superhuman men on the field. I keep the camera static, and do not zoom, switch angles, or any of that stuff.

I display all of the available information prior to each pitch, after that it all disappears in favor of game action.

Keeping it simple may be the best way... I'm a lot like you... when I go to a major league game and sit in the nosebleed section, the players look like fleas running around the field... I set the players as large as I can so that in the wide view they are a decent size... may have to do it your way.

Thank you for sharing... you have been helpful.

I'm a computer illiterate, but I may attempt to create my own camera views... it will be a tedious chore as I will have to try and figure it out on my own, but I may luck out and get something better than I have now.

What I have now is really amazing... in 2003 I never even thought OOTP would ever have any animation... wow!... look what we have now!

Are there any good, simple-to-follow- videos for the computer inept folks like me on setting cameras up for OOTP?

Wait, someone told him to drop $1600 on a PC to play OOTP? My God, my brand new PC is a Dell dent and scratch that I got for $750!!! a nice i5 with a GeForce RTX1660 Super and it plays all my games on high settings lol. All I added was extra ram to make it 24 gigs over 8 gigs and a couple of new hard drives! OOTP does not need a $1600 computer or a
GeForce RTX 3060 Ti video card to play OOTP haha. Hell, OOTP does not even need my computer to play it on 3D. My 10 year old computer Desktop played OOTP on 3D graphics with zero issues and I JUST upgraded from that computer in July last year! Now my 12 year old daughter uses it to play Genshin Impact on it and it runs that game pretty good!

I sure hope if he dropped $1600 on a new computer that he is playing games like Far Cry 6, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Microsoft Flight Simulator, or Cyberpunk 2077 that will use that video card! If not, yikes.

Well, here is the problem. Making new camera angles is not really an easy thing. There are a ton of little adjustments to make but here is an overview of some of it. https://youtu.be/38wQBURA4t8?t=500 I will explain more in detail of what the XYZ things do.

Now you have different setting at the top right under load 3d model is a line called edit mode. Use only global and cam target. Never touch stadium or you can just mess up your camera view and will want to start over.

Try not to hit "set rotation center to origin" it will screw up your camera view and make you want to start over.

Then you have the X Y Z with degrees above that. You want to set that 15 to like .1 or .01 to give you better control.

Under global edit mode,
X does a tilt of up and down.
Y and Z does a rotation left and right

Below that you have "more views"
Set the CM to 1 before touching any of the X, Y, or Z commands or your view will jump a lot.
X will slide your view left and right
Y slides the whole view up and down
Z will slide the view in and out.
Zoom is just that, it zooms in or out.

Edit Fence Posts section, only reason to touch this is to use the "Show grid and fence" because this is a great way of lining up your grid with the X Axis, i think, aka the green line to make your grid from outfield to home plate be straight so you dont feel like your looking at a crooked field.

Now if you switch the edit mode from global to cam target, you will only have the options under degrees and only X and Y. This is just for a bit more fine tuning.

X will rotate the stadium left and right rotation on home plate. This is a great way to making sure if you want both foul poles in vision
Y will rotate on the Y axis from home plate.

Last setting to play with is below save camera and it is called "Edit cameras FOV (Field of view) Its another form of zoom. But say you zoomed out and now your view is going through the back stop of the stadium, use the FOV to keep zooming back but it will never go though the backstop.

The best thing to do is go in and play with the different camera adjustments. Then if you find a view that you love, hit save camera create new, and name it.

If you never save, you will never screw up your camera angles from what they are right now. So go in and play around.

I was aware that I was buying far more computer than I needed for OOTP... but I wanted a computer that would not be outdated by technical improvements soon... this should give me good service for 3 to 5 years... maybe even more... I was looking to the future and buying more reliability and more quality.

Thanks for the detailed instructions... it is pretty overwhelming to a computer illiterate like me, but I will give it a try and see what happens.

One other thing about saving EC that may help. When you save it will ask if you want to replace the camera you are changing or save as a new one.
Save as new and give it a name and you won't overwrite any of the defaults.

Thanks, Sweed... much appreciate your help and advice.

I'm getting ready to use your settings right now... just used Bluenoser on my last game.

I'm learning a lot from all of you.

One thing I have noticed... the weird foul balls seemed to have stopped... I was 2 or 3 updates behind, but they got installed when I downloaded the game on my new computer... looks like they have fixed them.

twins_34, thank you so much for your post and your instructions... I created my own camera views for the game... it really made a tremendous difference in my game enjoyment... the camera views I created make it seem like I was behind home plate and watching a game... all of the camera switches blended well and I only lost the ball one time in an entire game... a foul ball near the dugout.

The new camera views made the players larger, too... the team names are quite clear and visible.
Formerly I just used the Wide Views with no dynamic action and was very pleased with it... it was fine but nothing like the new camera views... ignorance is bliss they say... I really didn't know what I was missing... and I mean to tell you, I was missing a lot.

Thank you so much, twins_34, I would have never attempted the camera changes because of my computer ineptness... but your instructions motivated me to try it... Sweed was really helpful, too, with his instructions on how to save the views without overwriting the default views.

As you can see, it doesn't take much to please me when it comes to video games... I only play one - OOTP - which is pretty simple animation-wise, I suspect.
I was happy with $500 computers, too... I think my "overkill" computer is pretty darn nice, too.

I tried to use the dynamic action mode and the zoom, but it just didn't appeal to me... maybe if I could get it to work smoothly from camera to camera and not lose sight of the ball, I might use it.

Wow!... I can't believe how good the new camera views made the game... sure don't take much to please an old computer-literate that only plays one video game, does it?.
