Ok, so I’ve disabled app background refresh, simplified crowd, done everything you’ve suggested and the game still crashes. I’ve loaded a historical season 2021 and that plays without issue. So I’m thinking the full minor leagues with its constant sim might be an issue. So, other then buying the latest iPad with more then 2 M RAM, is there any other solutions you could suggest? I agree this seems to be a memory problem. I’m running the app on a iPhone 12 Pro Max, with 6 M of Ram without any problem.

Quick update everyone; we've found some things that were causing higher memory usage in standard games, and this is likely greatly contributing to this issue. We're hoping to have some changes in the next patch which will reduce memory usage overall in standard games. This'll not only prevent many out of memory crashes, but should also improve all factors associated with memory usage (like device heating, app speed, etc.)

Patch not great

Will, installed the patch and, the game crashed on startup. I then tried again and actually got to the 8th inning. When I attempt to put in a pinch hitter the game crashed again. Sorry, there obviously a little improvement but, not enough.

Did it boot you from the game with a memory warning before crashing?
If it didn't, can you go to the settings and check if memory warnings are enabled.
If it did, could you try to use simplified audiences and see if it works? It runs at about 200-300MB less memory than before the patch, depending on the audience settings

No, and I had the men warnings enabled. I already have it set to simplify and Low. Not sure what else to do. I did get a men warning when I tried to start it up for a 3rd time. So I just quit.

If it crashes with memory warnings enabled but you don't get a warning before the crash, that means the crash is not memory related. Can you remember what happened immediately before the crash occurred?

Crashes

I had just made a player sub, tried to go back to the game and it crashed. Now I’m having problems even starting the game because of the low mem warning. It won’t let me start the game

Will, I have a historical game I play with no low mem issues or warnings. Can you think of a reason the 2022 season can’t be loaded because of the memory warnings but the historical plays without issue?

Still low mem warning

I had the low mem warning disabled when I installed your latest fix. Actually got through 5 innings. Had just finished a play, clicked to continue and it crashed. I enabled the low mem warning and now I can’t even start a game. The low mem warning prevents it. I don’t think this s fixable on this iPad, which is only 3-4 years old. I did get far deeper into the game before it crashed though.

Draft never populated

I finished a historical play of the 2021 season. On conclusion I moved to the date of the draft which, in the historical seasons, is in December. No players populated. When I clicked on start the draft it came back draft finished. Hard to move forward in historical seasons without a player draft to restock.

Ya unfortunately if it's a memory crash there's not much we can do other than reduce all 3d settings. In particular try using the simplified audience setting. Historical games probably work because they do require less RAM as they have less data (since we generate the players ourselves)
