The St. Louis Cardinals have announced the signing of 33-year-old first baseman Wilmer Flores to a one-year deal worth $3.5 million.
Flores, 33, spent the 2024 season in Milwaukee where he hit .253 with 19 homers and 61 RBIs in 130 games/129 starts.
He is expected to back up Paul Goldschmidt at first base while also seeing time as the designated hitter.

The St. Louis Cardinals have acquired left-handed relief pitcher Oneliki Garcia from the Arizona Diamondbacks in exchange for right-handed pitcher Max Rajcic.
NOTE: I didn't not sanction or pursue this trade. The AI did it without my consent. I am not sure if this a glitch.
Garcia, 35, was with Minnesota last season splitting time between the majors and AAA.
In six games with Minnestoa, he was 2-0 with a 5.73 ERA.
For his career, Garcia has worked in 37 MLB games/27 starts and gone 8-15 with a 6.56 ERA.
Drafted by the Cardinals in 2022, Rajcic has never pitched above AA.
In 14 career games/11 starts, he has one 2-4 with a 3.90 ERA.

The St. Louis Cardinals have signed veteran catchers Carson Kelly and Austin Hedges to free-agent contracts.
Kelly, 30, began his career in the Cardinals minor-league system before being traded to Arizona.
He played most of the 2024 season at AAA Pawtucket for the Red Sox.
Kelly did play five games in Boston, hitting .263 with no homers or RBIs.
For his career, Kelly has played in 458 MLB games/261 starts during which he has hit .224 with 48 homers and 177 RBIs.
Hedges, 32, spent the 2024 season with Cleveland, playing in 105 games/97 starts during which he hit .163 with seven homers and 30 RBIs.
For his career, Hedges with a .189 hitter with two homers and 66 RBIs.
