My plan is to go ahead and get relegated and try this again next week
Teams do not win by chemistry alone. I wonder how much the gold achievement is worth. I once lost 19 in a row and that was still silver.

Team 1; Best initial pull + PTLive + Missions + Twitch Drops = Going to Gold next week barring disaster.
...UPDATE: Disaster struck - lost to the Wildcard team in Division Series = stays in Silver next week.

Team 2; 2nd Best initial pull + PTLive + Missions = stays in Silver next week.

Team 3; Worst pull + PTLive + Missions = stays in Silver next week.

A much better than expected week...103 wins to secure the #2 seed, then followed it up with a reverse sweep to steal a slot in Gold next week. Now to see if I can hang on at that level...

Sharks went 96-66 in Gold, lost the LCS in seven games, but advanced to Diamond. Off to a 13-7 start this week.

4th WS in a row. Kluber ate it in game 7, then Rollie earned himself a trip outta here by blowing it late.

Treading water in diamond because I got put in a hell division (because of course this would happen to me), but reinforcements arrived in the form of Greg Maddux. Not sure if that will save me from the drop, but I guess we'll find out. Maybe we can go Final Boss mode and put ourselves clear of falling out of diamond at some point.

Even after all these years, I still have no idea what influences player performance on a season-to-season basis (besides park factors, and level of opposition.) I am only in Iron league, but all of my supposed difference-makers (at this level) are performing much worse than their counterparts on other teams.
My Kluber? Joint worst in the league with almost two runs of FIP difference with the best.
My Righetti? More than 1.6 runs worse than the best (owned by the same team that has the best Kluber.)

On the hitting side, my Utley is OPSing .750, compared to 1.129 in Stone last season. The other three Utleys in the league are performing similarly or even better than in Stone, and will end up with 4+ more WAR than mine over the season, if this keeps up.

I get the feeling there are just 'cursed' and 'blessed' seasons, assigned at league generation. My other team is also in Iron, and is in first place despite having much worse players.
Also, 'having the best record in the league = postseason implosion' seems to have been a thing for years now.

Edit: I also have the worst out of 8 (!) Al Kaline's in the league. His OPS is .615 (!!!), and the second-worst is at .755. The best performing Kaline is owned by the same team that has the two 'good' versions of my best pitchers (naturally), and has an OPS of 1.149. My guy: .037 ISO and .236 BABIP. Theirs: .290 ISO and .329 BABIP. This no longer has anything to do with simulation - players, or entire teams are being nerfed or boosted from one season to the next. Why make BABIP a no longer hidden stat when it's meaningless - the same rating on the same card, vastly different outcomes. Ugh.

Well, I met my main goal (or at least I will, my magic number is 3 with 11 games to go), which was avoiding relegation from Gold. I wasn't expecting a lot, and those expectations were thoroughly met when I found myself in the same division as two teams who spent most of the season as 1st-2nd best record in the entire league. They're down to 2nd-3rd now, and I'd like to think some late acquisitions of mine helped in that regard...I finished off Level 1, and just need a few more cards for Level 2.

I seriously doubt I'll make Diamond anytime soon (or at all), but I've already accomplished my main goal for my entire first full season of PT, so...who knows? (Besides The Shadow...)

Edit: Thank you, extra PP for Gold level...Level 2 is complete, as are a number of "lesser" missions. I'll finish a little under .500, but with an even more competitive team for the next round...

The Maddux addition did not help. He, like the rest of the team, were made to look mediocre while I sat helplessly not being able to do anything about it. Before you ask, no...I did not have fun and I am not amused.

I can only hope that next week's division will not be filled with teams I have no shot at beating.

Now that league promotions are down to 2 in each conference, it will be that much harder to move up. Seawolves are currently in S275 and only 3 teams completed the live missions. Unfortunately, all 3 teams are in the same conference and 2 in the same division. One of these teams will remain in Silver despite their record since only 2 can make it to the LCS.

It does not look promising for the Seawolves.

I report back this late in amazement as I have somehow derped my way to the playoffs. 83-79 ends up being enough for the last wildcard spot. Got a megawhale in the wildcard, so this could be a short Sunday. However, if the nightmare scenario plays out, then I will make it to perfect for the first time since PT21, where I will probably channel a burning Ford Pinto and go 40-122.

Team 1 (Silver, 468-342 overall); Best initial pull + PTLive + Missions + Twitch Drops = 3rd season in a row made the playoffs, Hoping to make it into Gold today.
UPDATE: Failed again against a Wildcard. Another Silver week.

Team 2 (Silver, 418-392 overall); 2nd Best initial pull + PTLive + Missions = grabbed Wildcard but will likely stay in Silver.
UPDATE: Lost Wildcard series.

Team 3 (Silver, 423-387 overall); Worst pull + PTLive + Missions = no Wildcard, stays in Silver. Matched last year's record of 83-79 but this is time am 24 GB instead of 3GB.

Took a megawhale to 3 in the wildcard, but the middle innings were our undoing. We did not do the funny.

Mourn today, go again tomorrow. Easier league next week pls?

My 3 teams all made the playoffs and two won the World Series.
Chase Utley again went 40/40 for 3000 points and should get MVP again as well.

Actually hit on 3 Perfects this week. Of course they were all LIVE.

Clicked on a card for 5k to buy it, (a houston player) Izequiel or something like that... but was a fraction of a second late and bought him for 8500+. UGH!

Pay attention!

Kershaw raking in 50pp of in-game achievements on his way to 2/3's of the triple crown.

Also, got reverse swept to stay in bronze, heh heh. I'm kind of the winner with that outcome, but seriously, PT tanks teams more than players do.

My team has found fantastic ways to lose in the playoffs each of the first 4 seasons. Between 3 8th inning errors in game 7 by the same outfielder (more than he made the entire season), reverse sweep 1 run losses with leads in each game, and dual 69 rating Cs crushing my soul, I have yet to make a WS despite finishing with the 1 seed each season except S4.

Thankfully, this latest season I didn't make the playoffs, so I didn't have to worry about my dreams being dashed again.

I've been full f2p thus far and am happy to have pulled an Ichiro recently to boost the top of the lineup. Looking to get into diamond this week!

I asked RNGjesus for an easier league.

RNGjesus laughed in my face as it proceeded to throw me into a league with far too many PL-tier teams.

Someday RNGjesus will listen to me for a change. It just won't be today.

I'm selling anything that isn't bolted down and spending the points, pre 'retirement'. Just bought a Mariano Rivera and was surprised to see he had stats for the season already. Turns out I bought him from a team actually in my division, haha. They've been rocking Jeter at short which maybe explains his 5+ era...
