The Reds had runners at 2nd & 3rd with nobody out in the bottom of the inning, but Wantz struck out the next 3 batters to preserve the lead. The Phillies scored once in the 6th off of Nick Mears and twice in the 7th off of Jose Soriano. The Halos got one of those runs back on a Velazquez single in the bottom of the inning. Nick Castellanos’s 3 run home run in the 9th off of Luke Murphy closed it to 10-7. After J. T. Realmuto doubled, the Angels were forced to turn to Carlos Estevez. He retired Christian Pache on a fly ball to CF to end the game. Final Score: Los Angeles 10, Philadelphia 7 WP: T. Anderson (3-2) LP: K. Allard (1-1) SV: C. Estevez (5) Record: 9-20 TRADES: The Angels made 2 minor trades. The Angels traded Charles Leblanc and minor league C Travis Tanaka to Atlanta, receiving P Jorge Bautista and OF Forrest Wall in return. Wall is a speedy outfielder who plays above average defense at all 3 OF positions. He has good contact but almost no power. The Angels traded Garrett Cleavinger (who they were planning to designate for assignment) and minor league C Alex Alvarez to Toronto in exchange for P Michael Dominguez and INF/OF Ernie Clement. To replace Cleavinger on the major league roster, the Angels recalled P Adam Kolarek from AAA Salt Lake. Clement and Wall will report to AAA Salt Lake. Bautista will report to A+ Tri-City. Dominguez will report to A Inland Empire |

It's been awhile. Picking this up again.
STARTING LINEUP Luis Rengifo RF Austin Hays LF Mike Trout CF Nolan Schanuel 1B Zach Neto SS Logan O'Hoppe C Anthony Rendon DH Jordan Westburg 3B Nick Gonzalez 2B Christopher Sanchez P Darion Blanco slammed a home run to lead off the bottom of the 1st at Progressive Field. The Angels tied it in the 2nd, scoring a run on a Xzavion Curry wild pitch and another on an RBI double from Gonzalez. The Halos took the lead in the 3rd when Hays led off with a double off the top of the CF wall and Trout blasted a massive 456 foot HR to CF. Cleveland got a run back in the 6th on an RBI groundout by Gimenez. Westburg led off the 7th with his 3rd HR. Ramirez’s run scoring single in the bottom of the inning made it a 5-4 game. After Rendon singled, Westburg doubled off the CF wall to tie the game. Gonzalez followed with a single through the middle and Rengifo walked to load the bases. Game #34 – May 5 – Angels @ Guardians
STARTING LINEUP Victor Robles CF Austin Hays LF Mike Trout DH Nolan Schanuel 1B Zach Neto SS Jordan Westburg 3B Logan O'Hoppe C Nelson Velazquez RF Nick Gonzalez 2B Tyler Anderson P Ramon Laureano hit a 2 run home run in the bottom of the 1st inning to give the Guardians the early lead. Hays singled home a run in the 3rd to make it 2-1. Cleveland scored twice off of Anderson in the bottom of the 3rd, driving him from the game. Nick Mears relieved. Velazquez broke out of a slump with a 1 out single in the 5th and Gonzalez followed with his 1st HR of the season. The 413 foot blast to CF made it 4-3. Jose Soriano came in to pitch, relieving Mears to start the bottom of the 5th. It was another terrible outing for the right hander – he allowed 2 runs to score before retiring a batter (a Soriano throwing error didn't help). The Angels tied it in the 6th. Trout reached base on an error and Schanuel followed with a double down the LF line. Trout was thrown out at the plate with Schanuel going to 3B on the play. Neto followed with a sac fly to make it 6-4. Later in the inning, Gonzalez delivered with a bases loaded single through the middle to tie the game. The Guardians retook the lead on Brayan Rocchio’s RBI off of Adam Kolarek in the bottom of the inning. Cleveland added 3 big insurance runs in the 8th. The Angles loaded the bases in the 9th but could not score. Final Score: Cleveland 10, Los Angeles 6 WP: S. Barlow (2-0) LP: A. Kolarek (0-1) SV: J. Karinchak (8) Record: 11-23 TRANSACTIONS: Send P Sam Bachman to AAA Salt Lake on injury rehab assignment. Option Adam Kolarek to AAA. Recall P Brayan Bello. Bello (1-2, 4.50 in 4 starts at Salt Lake) will rejoin the starting rotation and Jose Suarez will go to the bullpen. |

Wheeling and dealing! Are you playing out your games or simming and then writing from the game log?

I play every game, although I sometimes sim the final innings of a blowout. I enjoy playing through the games and I am not always in agreement when the AI manager chooses to steal (for example) or its bullpen usage. If I was just GM I think I'd feel something like Billy Beane arguing with Art Howe about playing Pena lol.
I write the game log during the game and hopefully clean up most of the typos and other mistakes before I post. Good luck with the Chisox! That might be the most intimidating rebuild there is. Last edited by TribeTown; 03-15-2025 at 02:00 PM. |
