Try resetting and re-importing the stadiums, if nothing else has worked.

For additional reference:
My 1970 EOS backup does not have any stadiums in in the "3d_ballparks" folder. Perhaps why there were no issues playing in 1970 or in 1971. The 1971 EOS has them, as does the 1972 Pre Season backups. Is it a matter of just deleting the "3d_ballparks" folder in the backups before doing a restore? What potential negative impact would that have? |

Were your backups made by manually copying and pasting, or by using the in-game backup feature?

In game backup up until deleting & reinstalling the entire game.
So I ran into the issue in 1972 on the original installation. Then restored the 1971 EOS in-game backup to see if that corrected it. Still borked. I C&P'd the backup files, uninstalled the game & deleted the directory so I could try them on a new install. Then ran into the error again on the new install with the 1971 EOS backup files copied into the Backup Directory. Last edited by jdw; 08-12-2025 at 02:49 PM. |

It might help if you can post your debug file, as that should at least contain some info to narrow down where this is coming from.
https://support.ootpdevelopments.com...debug-log-file One other thing about uninstalling, is that by default when you uninstall, the game may not remove saved games or custom data from your saved games folder, and reinstalling the game may just pick those up again. To make sure you reset things, once you uninstall, make sure to delete the OOTP26 files from your 'my documents' folder, to be sure the game doesn't pick those up again on a reinstall.

It really feels like the point of uninstalling & deleting everything, starting over from scratch, and praying that it doesn't bork at some point. I've got to admit that is incredibly worrisome as I played autoplayed through the 5th inning then manually played the 6-9+ innings for over 150 games in each of the 1970 & 1971 seasons. That's a lot of effort. I'm at 40+ hours at this point. That doesn't seem much, my plan in this historical league was to play 1970-1989 at the very least, which is a lot of effort - several hundred hours. That there isn't a little FAQ on basic ways to avoid the 3D Stadium Bork (or how to easily fix it if it happens), which seems to have been going on since April without easy to find guidance, is... really worrisome. Long time player as you can see by when I joined the forum. |
