You don't.
Anymore than you need facegen photos.
Its just an option. No different than what MLB The Show has.

However it can help when all you have is a blurry photo.
You can age a player, put him in different uniforms.
Some people with more skills might be able to make
videos of key moments in a game or season.
Like a highlight reel.

I don't know... I use Chatgpt (paid subscription) and usually with some prompt I finally get what I want. By exemple this is the Bill Kuehne he did for me to create my new FG because I didn't like my current one in the pack.

I've been using Leonardoai for the 1871.
Nost are in black and white.
Might try using chatgpt and put them in color.
Most are in suits or shirts.
Thinking of putting them in baseball uniforms.
Maybe try and use the modded jerseys for a guide if it will let me.

I have attached a file at 90x135 of all the historical ai 1871 players i have.
Most players were in suits because thats how they were in the original photo.
This is just experimentation.
Others with way more skills than me could make better ones.
I would like to put them in their uniforms.
Would be nice if ootp could automatically switch uniforms to the team a
player is currently playing for.

Here are Roger Maris, Charley Radbourn and Al Spalding by Chatgpt.
I think chatgpt does a better job but it takes it a long time to make 1 photo.

On the other hand slow means a better job :-) Depend of the model I guess GPT - 40 is quite fast.

Another one for you... since I use this to create my FGs the player always looks in front of him perfectly :-)

I found that you can have chatgpt age a player or sometimes it can do it on its own. I had it make Babe Ruth for the 1916 Red Sox, 1927 Yankees and 1935 Braves

I usualy ask chatgpt to
create a photo of player in year and uniform.
Sometimes i have to show it a picture.
Here are Asa Brainard, Bobby Mathews, Cal McVey and Cap Anson.
Have to say chatgpt does a much better job than Leonardoai.
If it was only faster.
I will switch my photos to chatgpt but it will take awhile to get them all.
For players that there are no photos i think chatgpt can do a better job than the fictional picture in ootp.

I tried putting them at the age they were in 1871 and i gave same descriptio for uniform. To be honest, i dont think the uniforms ai created are that bad. Maybe it could be used for uniform creations. Maybe ballparks too?

i had the ai age Cap Anson to 45 and 69 yrs old from the photo it created
and this is what i got.
I did tell it to add the mustache at 45 and remove it at 69.

I'll try that.
I'm trying to use the same basic prompt.
I go by the jerseys i have and use it for all team members.
Not sure how to get a FC emblem for Forest City so i just used the city name.

Took a few trys to get Dick McBride's sideburns.
Had to remove a beard and mustache.
I think i can just have the ai use the photos it created and have them look forward.

Had ai make Matt Purke 25 yrs old and i had it put him in a 1986 Houston Astros uniform.
I did not give it any instructions as far as the uniform.
I wanted to see if it could get close to the real uniform and i think it did a great job.
I chose the 86 Astros because i would know if it got that one wrong.
