The St. Louis Cardinals have acquired minor-league third baseman Pascanel Ferreras in exchange for minor-league shortstops Kyren Paris and
Kevin Made.
Ferreras, 23, split the 2024 season between High-A Ashville and AA Corpus Cristi.
In 120 games/116 starts, he hit .279 with 40 home runs and 88 RBIs.
Acquired in a June trade with the Los Angeles Angels, Paris, 23, played at AAA Salt Lake (Angels) and Rookie Florida State League for the Cardinals.
In 89 games/86 start, he hit .267 with 23 home runs and 65 RBIs.
Acquired from Washington last off-season, Made split the 2024 campaign between Palm Beach and High-A Peoria.
In 79 games/73 starts, he hit .240 with 13 home runs and 48 RBIs.

The St. Louis Cardinals have acquired 1B/OF Joey Loperfido from the Houston Astros in exchange for outfielder Moises Gomez and starting pitcher Gordon Graceffo.
Loperfido, 25, split the 2024 season between AA Corpus Cristi and AAA Sugarland.
In 124 games, 117 starts, he hit .264 with 27 home runs and 81 RBIs.
Gomez, 26, opened the season on the major-league roster but struggled hitting just .150 with one home run and six RBIs in 19 games/9 starts.
Back at Memphis, he fared much better hitting .338 with 16 home runs and 36 RBIs in 51 games/42 starts.
Graceffo, 24, also got a shot at the majors and fared well going 1-2 with a 1.59 ERA in three start.
At AAA, his numbers were rather pedestrian as he finished 8-12 with a 5.00 ERA in 26 games.

The St. Louis Cardinals have acquired center fielder Brandon Marsh from the Philadelphia Phillies in exchange for 2B/3B Nolan Gorman.
Marsh, 26, hit .266 with 11 home runs and 72 RBIs in 145 games/144 starts for the Phillies in 2024.
Marsh broke into the majors with the Los Angeles Angels in 2021 before being acquired by the Phillies via trade in the 2022 season.
In 482 games/443 starts, he has hit .262 with 36 home runs and 203 RBIs.
Once a top prospect for the Cardinals, Gorman's fate seemed to be determined by a poor 2024 season and a logjam at the position he plays.
In 2024, the 24-year-old played 72 games/65 starts in the majors during which he hit just .182 with eight home runs and 30 RBIs.
During the same season at AAA Memphis, he hit .265 with 13 homers and 34 RBIs.
In 288 games/244 starts in the majors, Gorman has hit .219 with 49 home runs and 141 RBIs.

The St. Louis Cardinals have acquired 1B/3B Jose Miranda and RHP Matt Canterino from the Minnesota Twins in exchange for right-handed reliever Ryan Loutos.
Miranda, 26, split time between the Twins and AAA St. Paul in 2024.
With the Twins, he played in 35 games/34 starts during which he hit .333 with two home runs and 13 RBIs.
At AAA, he started 77 games and hit .327 with 15 home runs and 65 RBIs.
For his career, Miranda has played in 200 MLB games/188 starts during which he has hit. 271 with 20 homers and 92 RBIs.
Canterino, 26, made his major league debut in 2024 pitching in just 1.1 innings in one game for the Twins. He retired all four batters he faced.
For the AAA Saints, Canterino started 27 games going12-4 with a 4.73 ERA.
Canterino was a second-round pick by the Twins in the 2019 draft.
The 25-year-old Loutos reached the majors in 2024 and pitched in 14 games for the Cardinals, going 0-0 with one save and a 3.63 ERA.
At AAA Memphis, Loutus served as the closer for the Redbirds recording 28 saves in 48 games.
He also boasted a 2-5 record and a 3.40 ERA.

The St. Louis Cardinals have acquired minor leaguers Mikey Kane (2B) and Sebastian Keane (RPH) in exchange for right-handed relief pitcher Giovanny Gallegos and minor-league outfielder Zach Levenson.
Taken in the 2023 draft, Kane, 23, split the 2024 season between Low-A Kannapolis and High-A Winston-Salem.
In 91 games/90 starts, he hit .240 with eight home runs and 46 RBIs.
Kenne, 24, spent the 2024 season with Tulsa of an Independent League.
He pitched in a league-high 46 games going 2-2 with a 7.77 ERA.
Prior to that, Keane was drafted in the 18th round of the 2022 draft.
In his lone minor-league season, he was 2-2 with one save in 20 games/two starts.
Gallegos, 33, was acquired via trade with the New York Yankees during the 2018 season.
In his seven-plus seasons with the Cardinals, he pitched in 356 games going 19-21 with 44 saves and a 3.32 ERA.
The 2024 season saw Gallegos pitch 66 times going 3-1 with a 3.46 ERA.
Taken with the 158th pick of the 2023 draft, Levenson, 22, split the 2024 season between Low-A Palm Beach and High-A Peoria.
In 121 games/120 starts, he hit just .196 with 17 home runs and 50 RBIs.

The St. Louis Cardinals have announced the signing of 37-year-old infielder Donovan Solano to a two-year contract.
With the ability to play first, second and third base, Solano will provide infield depth for the Cardinals.
A year ago, with Boston, he played in 70 games/50 starts and hit .299 with two home runs and 19 RBIs.
Solano broke into the majors with the Miami Marlins in 2012 and played there through 2015.
Since then, he has played for the Yankees (2016), San Francisco (2019-21), Cincinnati (2022), Minnesota (2023) and the Red Sox.
A career .280 hitter, Solano has hit 34 home runs and collect 236 RBIs in 890 career games/632 starts.

The St. Louis Cardinals have announced the signing of 28-year-old right-hander Pablo Lopez to a four-year contract worth $36.5 million.
The deal contains a team opt-out for the 2028 season.
Lopez managed to go 11-10 in 33 starts the 2024 season for Minnesota despite posting a 5.04 ERA.
Prior to that, he had posted four straight seasons of sub-4.00 ERAs.
For his career, Lopez came up with the Miami Marlins in 2018 before moving to Minnesota in 2022, is 50-49 with a 4.09 ERA in 159 starts.

The St. Louis Cardinals have signed veteran middle infielder Elvis Andrus to a minor-league contract.
Andrus, 36, spent the 2024 season in Baltimore where in 109 games/105 starts, he hit .237 with four home runs and 41 RBIs.
He broke into the majors in 2009 with Texas, and played with the Rangers through 2020.
Since that time, Andrus has played for Oakland (2021-22), the White Sox (2022-23) and the Orioles.
A career .268 hitter, Andrus has 106 career home runs and 816 RBIs.
