Sure enough, with home field and the wind blowing towards the outfield, the Shiners knocked Paxville's hopes stiff with a 3-game sweep!

Paxville will now host the wildcard as favorites, with the fences pushed way back and a sea breeze blowing in.

The Mundys in particular could easily have won a few more games with a bit of luck. Shame to lose 3 teams this week.

Going 14-37 in June and July did the Mundys in. The team appeared to be a contender after a 17-9 April.

Anyway, the McCarthy and Wooden Spoons will be posted when the final percentages are known in Gold. I suspect Cary will pass Knockemstiff for the top pct. Left Coast has posted a gaudy .267 for the Spoons, and may be tough to catch.

Obviously I am not figuring in Bronze, since none of our stat mavens reside there this week. Rev. McGator's squad is headed there, so that seems a good sign for next season. I'll probably do Silver in his stead, though I would happily yield to another volunteer. Until later...

Gold league:

Cary claims their 6th Gold tier OL crown (and 16th overall) with another impressive season.

Overall, Cary holds the top seed in the league (124-38). Seattle joins them as another division winner in the NC, and Algoma grabs the 2nd wild card spot. In the AC, after a hot start to the season (including a 15 game winning streak in April), Waffletown cooled off significantly in the second half, but still managed to nab the top wild card spot. Coney Island picked up the other wild card spot to give OL 5 playoff spots.

All the movement is set. Sadly only three teams will play in diamond, but perhaps all three will get 10 OL games. Besides the all-OL tourney in silver, Cary is still going in gold and Daytona Beach is alive in bronze. I'll be back in a few hours with at least one PT trophy. Good luck to those still playing.
