B200 Final Standings

OL Final coming up shortly.

The American Conference only has two OL teams going to the playoffs, New York and San Pedro. New York will face West Michigan in the WC game with the winner facing San Pedro. Wheatland who went into play yesterday with a 2 game lead in the East posted an 8-19 record to fall to third place. Redmond played .600 ball but it wasn't enough as Birmingham won the division. The Central pretty much stayed flat in the last day, New Zealand and Scullytown 4.5 and 6 back of the division winning Marinette and ending the day 4 and 6 back.

We have an all OL Playoff in National. Everett started the day a half game up on Antique and finished 2 behind in the East otherwise not much movement in the standings the last day. Southside will head to Everett for the WC game at Jetty Island Park. The winner will take on Antique, while the other Division series will feature the Rockin' Robins and Northborough.

Bronze will see a minimum of two teams moving Gold next week with a max of three. O'Fallon will be dropping back to Iron.

Boogie Fans Dancing in the Street as Knights Win OL S296

Boogie closed their schedule with a 16-7 run to win by two games over Chi-Town. The Knights swept a home series against the Towers early in the month by scores of 4-3, 7-5, 6-5, and 3-2, the last in 11 innings. Chi-Town streaked to an 11-3 finish, but couldn't climb out of the hole Boogie had thrown them into.

The Knights fan club president, Dan Sfeever, summed up the mood in two words, "Party time!"

The Sad Hill Hunters were on fire the final month, going 16-4, leaving fan club president Maura Bund to ponder, "If only we had gotten off to a better start..."

The PT side of things

Here's the playoff picture. Of interest to note is that the NC Wild Card race went to game 163 in both cases, with Corinth topping Sad Hill, 6-2, and Woodinville dumping Philadelphia, 9-4. Each was won by the road team.

By the way...

I didn't realize how poorly the Knight showed in PT until this year, so I muted the background a bit, and made him a little larger.

G327 Final Regular Season Standings

Hampton Roads Wins Gold OL Crown In Photo Finish

Congratulations to the Hampton Roads Rush. We're all turning Rush'n for the day!

Hampton Roads fought off a determined Redmond team to in the Gold OL crown in a photo finish. Redmond went 8-2 in their last month of OL play, but Hampton Roads' 11-9 OL record was just enough to get them over the finish line.

Non-OL Playoff News
  • Annandale led the AC in wins with 101 and won the AC West
  • Ozark had the second highest number of wins in the AC but had the misfortune of being in the same division as Annandale. Ozark will host the AC wildcard game
  • Redmond won the NC Central in a close race
  • Hampton Roads breezed to the NC West crown
  • Harbour Town claimed the second NC wildcard spot
If Ozark wins their game they will face Annandale. Redmond plays Hampton Roads in an NC Division series, so one of those teams will be promoted. So we will have between 1 and 3 teams promoted to Diamond next year.

No team is being relegated from Gold

Iron OL stats

Since there were not enough teams for a crown in iron, there will be no crown awarded. However, I would ask that someone post the results for OL games. Thanks.

Diamond league regular season final standings:

Cooper takes care of business and secures the OL crown with a solid 15-8 record.

in the big picture... there will be no OL relegations out of diamond this year. In the AC, Cooper and Motown both fell short of the 2nd wild card spot; but in the NC, all three divisions were won by OL teams (Seattle Pilots in the NC East; Waffletown in the NC Central; Shasta in the NC West). For the wild-card, Luckenbach secured the top spot, but Redmond, Chippewa and Transylvania all came up short as a non-OL team snuck in. (edit: on closer inspection of the final standings, Redmond and Backyard went to game 163 to determine the 2nd wild card spot, with Redmond coming up short in a 5-0 loss to end their season).

and since it's already taken place: Luckenbach defeats the Backyard Melonheads in the wildcard game to move on to the LDS. The NLDS will be an all-OL affair with Waffletown hosting Luckenbach, and Shasta hosting Seattle. Two OL teams will be promoted to Perfect league next season.

Cigar City Smokes Perfect League Competition

Despite an 11-16 September, the Cigar City Lagers held on to become champions of OL Perfect .402. Despite an inverse 16-11 month for the Southern Southpaws, they were unable to overcome the Lagers large lead.

--NON-OL News--

The Southpaws had the best record in all of Perfect .402, going 103-59 against all competition.

Overall, seven OL teams advanced to the playoffs. The OL Champion Lagers were eliminated in their Division series, as were the Southpaws and the OL third-place Washington Senators and OL 5th-place Minneapolis Gauchos.

Three OL teams remain in the playoffs, along with the non-OL (but $0) Clyde Truckers.

The BIG NEWS in Iron is that the long OL nightmare is over...MUDVILLE MUFFINS ARE MOVING TO BRONZE!!!

Despite falling behind in their Division series, 2 games to 1, they held on and got a walk-off Game 5 win to advance to the Sub-League series and automatic promotion to Bronze for 2038. It was an actual walk-off win, too, with Willie McCovey drawing a bases-loaded walk off of Stephen Strasburg in the bottom of the 12th for the win.

OL Results
Mudville Muffins 9-5
Stephensville Bears 14-12
Gotham Knights 10-16

The Knights, Bears, and Steelport Saints will return to Iron next season.

It looks like the Fighting Chickens and Vikings played a Game 163, with the Chickens on top. Now they're in the NLCS with the fellow Hawaiian Mokes. Could be a cinderella story, but either way Puppies will have a team in the Perfect finals.
