And there it is! The second perfect game! Pretty crazy it's from a guy who already had a no-hitter. Any other CBO guys with more then one no-hitter?

August 2314
BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, CCBL, CYL, and CBA by Nat Wright-Kawolski 24 August 2314 Pennant and Wildcard Chase With one week left and either seven or eight games remaining per team in the 2314 season, let's break down the pennant and wildcard chases in the pursuit for the 2314 Sole Survivor Series championship. Institute League Pennant Chase Lexington 72-51 - @Obe (3), @Star (2), vs Con (2) Fort Hagen 71-52 - @Con (3), vs Cam (2), vs Star (2) Neither has an easy path at the end, but the Radstags have been cold at 2-8 in their last 10, putting their own playoffs spot in jeopardy. The Synths have to visit Oberland who is also battling for the 6th spot in the SCA and needs to win. The Killers should be at worst a split. Prediction: Lexington 3-4 (75-55), Fort Hagen 5-2 (76-54) We have the Shroud earning the NCA's #2 seed, while Lexington will have to settle for the #3 seed and host a Wild Card Round series. Minutemen League Pennant Chase Quincy 72-51 - vs NB (3), @SI (2), vs Atom (2) Atom 71-52 - vs UP (3), @Egr (2), @Qui (2) These two teams get to face off to close out the season, so we are rooting for the race to stay tight heading into that series. The Gunners have the "easier" path by being a game up and a better home-road schedule to end, including hosting the Cats. That series is knotted up, 4-4. Prediction: Quincy 4-3 (76-54), Atom 3-4 (74-56) NCA Wildcard Race We already know that The Slog has locked up the #1 (likely - Magic # 1) or #2 spot, so Salem and Easy Town are in the wildcard chase play. In thye Institute League, either the Synths or Shroud will take that league with the other pretty much being locked in to #3; both have clinched at least a wildcard spot. Bunker Hil and Concord both have the inside track, while Cambridge and Starlight are still alive. To make it, the Trons and Killers would pretty much have to go 7-0 or at worst 6-1 to finish, while the Radstags would have to go one of 1-6 or 0-7. The Assaultrons would win a tiebreaker, but Starlight would not. We are going to assume none of this will happen. Well, technically, Concord could go 0-7 with its brutal finish to the 2314 regular season. So, we are placing the wildcard race on the following standings for places 4-7: #4 Bunker Hill 66-57 - vs Cam (3), @ST (2), @CC (2) #5 Salem 65-58 - @Slog (3), @NB (2), @Mal (2) #6 Concord 63-60 - vs FtH (3), vs ET (2), @Lex (2) #7 Cambridge 60-63 - @BH (3), @FtH (2), @ST (2) The Stags are the only team with home-field advantage in the final week with both the Witch Hats and Coursers only on the road. Concord's best bet to fight off the Coursers for the 6th spot looks to be its two-game home set against Easy Town. For the 75ers, their last two opponents are picking near the top of the draft, so they have little fight left in them. Prediction: Bunker Hill 6-1 (72-57), Salem 3-4 (68-62), Concord 2-5 (65-65), Cam 3-4 (63-67) We are going to predict that order to hold up with the 75ers hosting the Hats and Concord visiting the Synths in the Wild Card Round. SCA Wildcard Race Vault 81 has clinched the CBO's top record, so they are #1 in the SCA. No other team has clinched a playoff spot, so there a lot of drama left. One of the Gunners or Cats will be #2 but the loser in that situation could tumble down the wildcard standings since both FHE and Diamond City match them in record currently. Therefore, we need to add Quincy and Atom to the mix for the SCA wildcard race. Southie is not officially eliminated, but since Oberland and Glowing Sea meet in a series, the Brews will not be able to get a record high enough to earn a spot. Therefore, they are left out of this discussion. Seeds #2-8: #2 Quincy 72-51 - vs NB (3), @SI (2), vs Atom (2) #3 FHE 72-51 - vs DC (3), @Rox (2), @V81 (2) #4 Diamond City 72-51 - @FHE (3), vs V81 (2), vs Good (2) #5 Atom 71-52 - vs UP (3), @Egr (2), @Qui (2) #6 Oberland 69-54 - vs Lex (3), @GS (2), vs Egr (2) #7 Glowing Sea 68-55 - @V81 (3), vs Obe (2), @Rox (2) #8 University Point 65-58 - @Atom (3), vs JP (2), vs SI (2) We already detailed the Gunners-Cats race above, so you know our final prediction of their records: Quincy 4-3 (76-54), Atom 3-4 (74-56). Looking at the top with the Yao Guai, a homestand against the Swatters helps in the battle for the 3rd seed. Two on the road at the Dwellers could be problematic unless Vault 81 sits everyone in that series. Since the Dwellers are seeking the CBO record for wins, we feel they will play hard through all 130. That affects three teams, then, which will probably hurt all three in some way. The T-51s and Radscorpions are also in a tight battle for the last spot with a cold Scorpions team going 3-7 in their last 10, killing their chances in the past two weeks. They must sweep the T-51s in their series to have a chance for that last spot. Prediction: Quincy 4-3 (76-54), FHE 5-2 (77-53), Diamond City 4-3 (76-54), Atom 3-4 (74-56), Oberland 4-3 (73-57), Glowing Sea 2-5 (70-60), University Point 5-2 (70-60) Based on our predictions, the final order would not change, meaning that the Wildcard Round would feature #3 FHE hosting #6 Oberland and the defending champion Cats as the 5th seed visiting #4 Diamond City.

August 2314
BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, CCBL, CYL, and CBA by Nat Wright-Kawolski 31 August 2314 CBO Regular Season Ends Commonwealth Baseball Organization has put the wraps on another season. In a few days the playoffs will launch in grand style with the league's elite clubs going up against one another for the ultimate payoff -- the Sole Survivor Series crown. For the baseball fan it doesn't get any better than this -- a time of tense duels, where the outcome of the season hinges on one pitch, one play, one hit -- or one break. There is nothing quite like the playoffs. There was no last-day drama with Lexington and Quincy clinching their leagues on Saturday, as well as Oberland clinching the 6th spot over Glowing Sea due to the tiebreaker advantage (6-4 vs the Radscorpions in the regular season). Glowing Sea needed to sweep the T-51s in their late series but got a split. Playoff baseball is a special time of year. General managers who have struggled all year to steer their club to the promised land love it as they make those final, pivotal roster selections going into the Wildcard Round. For them, this is an elusive, exciting, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to win the Commonwealth Baseball Organization Sole Survivor Series. The playoff docket begins with these games today: #1 The Slog Ghouls (BYE), #5 Salem Witch Hats vs #4 Bunker Hill 75ers, #6 Concord Radstags vs #3 Fort Hagen Silver Shroud, #2 Lexington Synths (BYE), #1 Vault 81 Dwellers (BYE), #5 Atom Cats vs #4 Diamond City Swatters, #6Oberland T-51s vs #3 FHE Yao Guai, and #2 Quincy Gunners (BYE). The Ghouls and Synths are celebrating their first full CBO Brotherhood League and Institute League titles, respectively. The Gunners have clinched their second Minutemen League title (2310). Vault 81 is celebrating its fourth Railroad League title and second-straight. Atom, the defending champions, have a harder road to climb after finishing the 2314 season as Minutemen League champions and the 2nd seed in the SCA. The Silver Shroud, the 3rd seed, champions two seasons ago, seem to be the most likely team to emerge from the NCA based on recent success and playoff experience. CBO Playoff previews will begin tomorrow when the NCA matchups begin. The SCA matchups start on Wednesday. The Wildcard Round is a Best-of-Three matchup. Also, tomorrow, we will give a final results covering of the NEBL and MML leagues. Game 7 of the New England Series between Clifton and Providence will be tonight. Looking at the draft order, at 47-83, the Sunshine Tidings will have the first-overall pick. Full order of Top 6: 1. Sunshine Tidings 2. Nahant 3. Spectacle Island 4. Roxbury 5. County Crossing - Went 0-3 versus the Red Rockets in regular season 6. Jamaica Plain CBO Standings CBO Playoff Tree CBO Players of the Week August 24 - Red Jay Jones demonstrated his potential to be a star in the game last week and today he took home the North Charles Association Player of the Week Award. The Sunshine Tidings catcher wreaked havoc on opposing pitchers last week, pounding them for a .522 average (12-for-23) with 5 home runs and 11 RBIs on his way to claiming the honor. This year, Jones is batting .347 with 40 home runs and 92 RBIs. The South Charles Association has selected its Player of the Week and the honor went to Kinsella Birdwatcher, Quincy's fine catcher. For the week he batted .650 (13-for-20) with 2 home runs, 6 runs and 10 RBIs. This year, Birdwatcher is hitting .300 with 109 hits, 16 home runs, 78 RBIs and has scored 54 runs. August 31 - None selected, but we're not sure why. We will take a stab at naming a couple of people even though we do not have all the stats. Based on top daily players, these are our picks: NCA - RF Orcin Cardinal, Fort Hagen - 12/25 (.480), 2 HR, 2 BB, 5 R, 7 RBI SCA - LF Gremlin T. Squearfish, Atom - 13/27 (.481), 4 2B, 2 HR, 6 R, 9 RBI CBO Noteworthy News August 18 - The County Crossing Bloodbugs defeated the Atom Cats 2-1 yesterday in a game that featured Babs Rooth's 500th career home run. In the clubhouse, the Bloodbugs right fielder spoke about the milestone achievement. "To be honest, I don't even remember my first home run," he said. "But this one I don't think I'll forget. Who knows if I'll hit another hundred, or fifty, or even ten?" On his historic day, Rooth banged out 1 hit in 3 at-bats and scored 1 run with 1 run batted in. His all-time numbers show Rooth has compiled a .337 batting average and collected 2136 hits, 500 home runs and 1399 RBIs. August 19 - Teams across Commonwealth Baseball Organization are now permitted to carry up to 40 players until the start of the playoffs, offering both the club and fans a sneak peek at future talents and extra help off the bench. August 22 - Fans at Gwinnett Brewery Park got a rare gift today as Cohort Williams of the Brews tossed a no-hitter against the Goodneighbor Hancocks. Although Williams did not appear to have his best stuff in the early innings, he turned masterful as the game went on, ultimately striking out 7 and walking 0 in a 6-0 Southie victory. "We had our chances in the first few innings when he was hittable, and we couldn't capitalize on them," Goodneighbor manager Justin Salvage said later. "In the last four or five innings, he totally shut us down." In all, Williams faced only 27 batters. While getting into his groove, he was helped by several defensive gems. "I don't remember a better-pitched game," Brews manager Ray Pratt said. "And how about our defense today?" In 28 starts this year, Williams has crafted a 9-7 record and a 4.04 ERA. August 24 - Which rookie is leading the Commonwealth Baseball Organization in home runs? Charles Towner, DC, 30 Topher Spark, ET, 28 Jannar Arbor, CON, 26 Sheedy Smith, JP, 25 Sergio Higgins, STAR, 24 August 24 - History was made today at The Stone House -- Beachboy Nut won game #250 to seal his name in the league record books. The Nordhagen Beach ace downed the Quincy Gunners 1-0 to gain entrance into the elite 250 Club. "I was wound up at first. I think I threw too hard," remarked Nut, "I had to calm down and go out there and pitch... not just throw. I think I got better as the game wore on. I started to think less about 250 wins and more about doing what I had to do." During his career, Nut has registered a 250-124 record with a 3.08 ERA. August 29 - The Fort Hagen Silver Shroud have lost the services of Nuke Laloosh for the rest of this season. He suffered shoulder inflammation in a recent ballgame and the follow-up report from the medical staff is not good. Laloosh is out for the year. Laloosh has made 32 starts so far this year and put up a 12-8 won-lost record with a 4.46 ERA. In 200 innings he has allowed 225 hits, walked 41 and struck out 126.

95 wins for Vault 81! I don't know how they don't take the title!
Radscorpions came close, but not quite. Still, a playoff appearance and a game out this early in their history is impressive!

If Vault 81 does not win it all, they will be the first team that was that dominant in the regular season and did not win it all. The two seasons where teams were 10 games better than the next best team were 2301 with Nordhagen Beach and 2304 with Roxbury (in the SCA, only five better than County Crossing).

September 2314
BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, CCBL, CYL, and CBA by Nat Wright-Kawolski 1 September 2314 The September 1 Super Post, Part 1 CBO Players of the Month NCA Hitter - Thatch Heard may be much younger than other hitters in the North Charles Association, but he performed like a seasoned veteran in August to win the Batter of the Month award. The 21-year-old Salem right fielder hit .368 with 11 home runs, 28 RBIs and 20 runs scored. This season, Heard is hitting .350 with 184 hits, 40 home runs, 129 RBIs, scored 100 runs and played in 126 games. SCA Hitter - FHE Yao Guai fans believe they've got a talented young star in Missile Crews. He did nothing to dissuade that notion in August, as he hit .424 with 10 home runs, 30 RBIs and 28 runs scored. The end result was the center fielder being named the South Charles Association Batter of the Month. To date, Crews has collected 153 hits for a .320 average. He has posted 27 home runs, scored 116 runs and driven in 92 runs. NCA Pitcher - The Pitcher of the Month has been chosen and the North Charles Association trophy went to The Slog hurler, Flirt Perez. During the month, Perez was impressive with a 2.44 ERA and 4 wins and no losses. In 51.2 innings he struck out 31 and gave up 46 hits and 18 walks. To date this year, Perez has compiled a 12-7 mark with a 3.53 ERA in 30 starts. SCA Pitcher - When Exxie Summerset takes the mound, a Vault 81 victory is usually the result. At least that's the way it was in August. He excelled with a 6-1 mark and a 2.47 ERA in 7 starts, tossed 51 innings, fanned 38 and held opposing batters to a .225 average. That's why the Dwellers starter was honored today as the Pitcher of the Month by the South Charles Association. In 32 starts this season, Summerset has notched a 22-5 record and a 2.96 ERA. NCA Rookie - Miko Miko earned August's Rookie of the Month honors in the North Charles Association for last month's performance. The boyish Bunker Hill third baseman might be wet behind the ears, but he's proving that he has what it takes to play at this level. Miko hit .400 with 3 home runs, 24 RBIs and 16 runs scored this past month on his way to winning the award. So far on the season, Miko is hitting .405 with 18 home runs, 83 RBIs and 77 runs scored. He has 173 hits and played in 121 games. SCA Rookie - Youngster Copper Quartz emerged as the latest South Charles Association Rookie of the Month today. The young man from Egret deserved the honor, batting .337 with 6 home runs and 20 runs batted in. Is the month of August a harbinger of things to come or just a fluke? We'll find out someday, but for now, we'll just let Quartz enjoy the limelight. Thus far this season, Quartz has hit .311 with 25 home runs, 86 RBIs and scored 77 times. CBO Records There were only three individual season records set or tied in 2314, all in pitching: Wins - 22 - Exxie Summerset, Vault 81; Previous Record - 22 - Summerset, Vault 81, 2306 and Heaven Fontenot, Goodneighbor, 2311 Summerset tied his own record originally set eight years earlier by winning 22 of 27 decisions in 2314. The former 3rd overall pick in 2301 by Finch Farm (now Nahant) now has 160 career wins (t-18th all-time) and three 20+ win seasons (1st all-time). Games Started - 35 - Pete Holster, Glowing Sea/Roxbury; Previous Record - 35 - Isaiah Swindler, The Slog, 2310 Holster pitched in a role as an "opener" for the Radscorpions in 35 of his 46 appearances. That means that he preceeded the actual SP and thus got credit for the start in those games. Once he was cut and signed with the Rad Sox, Holster appeared in only one more game, starting none. H/9 IP - 6.41 - SP Lyle Pine, Lexington; Previous record - 6.42 - SP Wilson Beachball, University Point, 2301 The former 2nd-overall pick (Quincy, 2304) had his best season as a pro, allowing only 141 hits in 198.0 innings to set the record. Pine also led the CBO in WHIP with 1.07. CBO Top Performances August Hitter - RF Candy Kline, Atom - Kline came nowhere near matching Jamaica Plain rookie Sheedy Smith's record performance on June 7 (score of 151), but his 120-point performance on August 19 was the top performance of August and 3rd overall on the season. In an 8-3 victory over County Crossing, Kline went 4 for 5 with three home runs, three runs, and all eight RBI. Both his homer numbers and RBI tied Atom records. Kline hit a three-run bomb in the 1st, a solo shot in the 3rd, and a two-run shot in the 5th. In the 6th, Kline added a two-RBI single. August Pitcher - SP Cohort Williams, Southie - In a month with a perfect game (tied for 5th best performance score on the season, showing we do not at all understand the performance scores), Williams' no-hitter ranked as August's top performance and tied for the best performance score of the season with 94 points. Ty Gibbs' June performance also had a 94 score. In his no-hitter on August 22 against Goodneighbor, Williams came as close as one could be to a perfect game. Williams pitched nine no-hit innings, walking none, and striking out seven. The one step away from perfection came with one out in the top of the 7th when Williams plunked the Hancocks' Zed Zded to break up the perfect game. Williams then retired the rest and faced the minimum of 27 batters since Zded was caught stealing. CBO Final Statistics

September 2314
BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, CCBL, CYL, and CBA by Nat Wright-Kawolski 1 September 2314 The September 1 Super Post, Part 2 NEBL Playoffs With a 4-2 win over the Clifton Vertibirds at The Launching Pad today, the Providence Warlocks wrapped up their 2nd title in team history. The Warlocks left little doubt who was the better team. Celebrating a banner year, "team" was the word of the day in the victorious clubhouse after the game. "Hitting, pitching, fielding; those are all things you need to win, but most importantly you need a team, a team that works together toward the same collective goal," said Providence manager Jason Narrows. "Our players felt that way all year, and they played that way. When one guy had an off day, 24 others stepped up their game and filled the void." A jovial mood filled the air as Providence celebrated into the night. The city's mayor said parade plans were underway and a "huge celebration" would be in order. "I hope they have a big celebration," Clifton manager Slim Twohand said. "They deserved to win this series and they deserve to celebrate it." MML Playoffs The Pawtucket Pips are champions, today and forever. The Pips topped the Covenant Refractors 5-4 at Cavalry Grounds today to claim the Massachussetts Minor Series crown. "Nobody can take this away from us, not ever," said series MVP and third baseman Ike McRae after his club had sealed the victory. "We worked hard and we accomplished our goal." The atmosphere was electric as the newly-crowned champs stormed the field at the conclusion of the game. Fans cheered, gloves flew in the air, high fives and hugs were the order of the day. "From day one of spring training, I could see it in their eyes," said Pawtucket manager Brad Smailes. "The players had that look of intensity, of hunger, of a desire to accomplish something great, and today they did that. They're champions of the world." The Pips took the series 3-2. The new titleholders completed the regular season with a first-place finish in the Stars League Ted Williams Division and a 72-36 record.

CBO Playoffs 2314
I accidentally hit the advance button, so I skipped past Game 1. Since I had not yet saved graphics, I am going to minimalize them to just a Game 2 starting lineups screenshot for this preview. I will change it back in the Association Semifinals Round.
BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, CCBL, CYL, and CBA by Nat Wright-Kawolski 1 September 2314 NCA Playoffs Preview - Wildcard Round #5 Salem Witch Hats (68-62) vs #4 Bunker Hill 75ers (69-61) Season Series: Bunker Hill 3, Salem 1 May 18-19 @Sal: BH 7-1, BH 8-3 July 30-31 @BH: Sal 8-4, BH 11-6 Analysis Salem looked to be a team out of the playoff run early in the season, including finishing April with a 9-14 record. The true run came in July when the Hats went 15-9 to push themselves other teams and become a contender. One team the Witch Hats were not able to conquer was Bunker Hill, with the 75ers taking 3 of 4 and contributing one of those nine July losses. For the 75ers, they were consistently better than average in their record throughout each month, but did have their first losing record in August (13-15). That shift could factor into how well they do in the postseason. Looking at the playoff matchup, Salem appears to have the pitching advantage, but only slightly, while the 75ers are the better team on offense. While the Witch Hats have been a good team, reaching their seventh-straight winning season, this year's team seems to have fallen back from the past seasons when they seemed to be legfitimate champion contenders. For the offense, they were most certainly good in the association, finishing 3rd with 683 runs. A good part of that run production came from teh bats of RF Thatch Heard (.350/40/129) and 1B Brian DeLong (.317/40/111), both likely finalists for the Nuka Hitter Award. On the mound, Salem finished 7th in runs allowed (636) with the Starters (4th with 4.16) performing better than the bullpen (9th wtih 5.16). SP Paul Stains (7-0, 3.59), who only started 16 games due to an early-season back injury, is healthy for the playoffs. He is followed by Jaa Thirtysix (11-12, 3.45) and Chris Teddybear (11-5, 3.66) in the starting rotation. In the bullpen, CL Corpulus Vinius (24 SV, 4.11) was OK but not dominant for a closer. The only bullpen pitcher with an ERA below 4.00 was Mario Riihivuori (3-4, 3.94). Bunker Hill was the most productive offense in the NCA, including being the top team in runs scored (721), OPS (.821), wOBA (.347), and Base Running (2.4). Four players hit 20+ home runs: LF Kasumi Goto (.326/36/112) who is a finalist for the Nuka Hitter Award, SS Aaron Squire (.280/30/70), 1B Zod Gaycey (.289/26/72), and CF Bumpy Redfern (.330/23/79). The big story was the stellar yet unexpected year from rookie 3B Miko Miko (.405/18/83), who finished with the fourth-best batting average in CBO history and is the only choice to win the NCA's Red Rocket Rookie Award. For the 75ers pitching, a kink in the wheel may be their undoing. Bunker Hill finished 9th in runs allowed (653), including 5th in Starters ERA (4.17) and 12th in Bullpen ERA (5.83). Ace SP Jason Tonelli (13-9, 3.29) was goodm but he was the only regular on the team with an ERA under 4.00. Pokey Chatman (13-7, 4.54) and Cleveland Heep (12-9, 4.58) are the other playoff starters. The team's closer role was split between Trauma Medley (14 SV, 5.14) and old pro Jim Livermore (13 SV, 4.07), but neither were good in the role; Livermore had the bullpen's best ERA. SP Hangman Alley (7-10, 4.10) is likely out for the playoffs. Prediction While the 75ers are the higher seed and won the season series, we think that the Hats are the better team now. With an edge in pitching and two major hitters in the lineup, we think that Salem moves on. Salem 2, Bunker Hill 1 #6 Concord Radstags (67-63) vs #3 Fort Hagen Silver Shroud (74-56) Season Series: Fort Hagen 7, Concord 3 April 6-7 @Con: FtH 9-3, FtH 3-2 June 3-5 @FtH: FtH 4-0, FtH 4-1, FtH 3-2 July 23-24 @FtH: FtH 4-2, Con 8-6 August 24-26 @Con: Con 11-9, Con 8-0, FtH 3-2 Analysis We have been writing quite a bit about the up-and-coming Radstags. Early in the season, the Stags looked to have come of age, including going 15-8 in April and following that up with a 17-11 May. That meant Concord was alone in 1st place in the Institue League as of June 1, three games above the Shroud at that time. Now we are in September, and Concord finished seven back, a 10-game difference from June through August. Still, Concord did match its franchise-best for wins in a season while making their fifth playoff appearance in team history and first since 2305. For Fort Hagen, two years from being champions and one of the CBO's most successful franchises (8th all-time with a .519 winning percentage, tied for 3rd all-time with 11 playoff appearances, and 3rd all-time with four Sole Survivor Series appearances). This is now the Shroud's fourth-straight playoff appearance after a six-year absence from 2305 through 2310. In the season series, the Silver Shroud controlled the narrative, including the season-opening sweep and a 6-0 start. Concord got a late season series victory amidst what appeared to be a collapse out of the playoffs. That series victory ended up making part of the difference in holding off Cambridge and Starlight, which finished 7th and 8th in the association standings. Looking at the Stags' offense, they finished 6th in runs scored (635), despite finishing 13th in average (.261). One reason for the high run percentage was that they hit a lot of home runs (3rd with 192) to take advantage of runners when they had them. 1B Hax Kim (.304/41/101) who will be one of the finalists for the Nuka Hitter Award, LF Jannar Arbor (.257/27/70), and 3B Mike Fountaineau (.296/27/70) were the anchors in their run production. On the mound, Concord was better, finishing tied for 3rd in runs allowed (584), 7th in Starters ERA (4.25), and 2nd in Bullpen ERA (4.04). The top two starters, Leyden Aigg (10-9, 3.98) and Chad Nailgun (15-8, 3.36), have been really good. Mel Gorgeous (8-14, 5.07) has not. Cl Penn Teller (37 SV, 2.15) is in the Fallon's Reliever Award running. RP Ulfar unending (2-2, 2.24) was solid in the middle rotation. While the Radstags's offfense had its struggles, Fort Hagen's offense was outright terrible for stretches of the season. The Shroud finished 10th in runs scored (620). A few people were top contributors in RF orcin Cardinal (.280/31/85), C Sleve McDichael (.313/22/80), and LF makin Jobear (.309/24/81). SS Brennan Colt-45 (.253/5/51) may have had the most disappointing year on offense for the team. The Silver Shroud's pitching was just as good as Concord's, finishing tied with them for runs allowed with the 6th Starters ERA (4.21) and 4th Bullpen ERA (4.38). Playoff starters are Sarthis Idren (12-10, 4.35), Clubhouse Treelover (12-10, 3.43), and La'Ray Kalel (10-7, 4.68). CL Crazylegs Jones (39 SV, 2.36) is also in the running as the NCA's top reliever. RP Josh Woods (7-5, 3.30, 3 SV) contributed where he could from the bullpen. Prediction Concord is happy to be in the Wildcard Round; Fort Hagen is pissed to be there. There is no similarity. While the Radstags may be a championship contender one day, this team is not it. Neither are the Silver Shroud, but we give them all the advantages in talent, performance, and playoff experience. Fort Hagen 2, Concord 0

CBO Playoffs 2314
BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, CCBL, CYL, and CBA by Nat Wright-Kawolski 2 September 2314 SCA Playoffs Preview - Wildcard Round #5 Atom Cats (74-56) vs #4 Diamond City Swatters (75-55) Season Series: Atom 3, Diamond City 1 April 23-24 @DC: DC 5-2, Atom 4-1 July 4-5 @Atom: Atom 7-1, Atom 6-3 Analysis Atom and Diamond City have combined for four Sole Survivor Series appearances and three titles, including last season when the Cats won it all. The Swatters were champions in 2299 and 2300, one season before Atom made its first appearance, a series loss to Nordhagen Beach. The teams' first playoff meeting also came in 2301, with the Cats ending Diamond City's three-peat bid in the Association Semifinal Round. They met again in the Play-in Round in 2305, again with Atom on top. Last season, they both got to the Association Semifinals but did not meet. Atom was not as good this season as last but still finished just a game back of Quincy for the #2 seed. On offense, the Cats finished 5th in runs scored (673), including 3rd in home runs (175). Three players finished with 20+ home runs: OF Tobias Hoffman (26), 2B Lee Mayhew (22), and CF Honda Ohnaka (20). Four other players hit 10+ home runs, including injured star Shane Stabb (.281/14/50), who is likely out for the first two rounds but could be eligible for the Association Championship Series. The Cats also finished 5th in runs allowed (673) but were 3rd in Starters ERA (4.04) and 4th in Bullpen ERA (4.85). Atom was last in errors committed (82). Starters Doug Creep (16-7, 3.35) and Josh Brown (11-7, 3.08) can hold down opposing offenses. Mesquite Williams (11-12, 4.21) is the third starter. In the billpen, MR Lippy Lyonne (11-1, 2.01) is in contention for the Fallon's Reliever Award. CL Lack Luster (22SV, 5.74) was lackluster. Diamond City may be the tale of two teams, with the offense being its Hyde. The Swatters finished 8th in runs scored (664) and finished around the middle in every offensive category. LF Charles Towner (.295/32/95) led the team in homers and RBI and finished 2nd on the team in average. The best average went to SS Alex Bragman (.311/21/77). Trade acquisition, 1B Moktar Wakihuri (.314/21/69) spent most of the season with Cambridge. RF Magnum Peaeye (.293/24/79) was decent in the middle. On the mound, the Swatters were really good. They were 2nd in runs allowed (549) and Starters ERA (3.78) and 3rd in Bullpen ERA (4.26). SP Macho Lopez (14-9, 2.74) is in the running for the Vim! Pitcher Award. Heaven Fontenot (15-10, 3.45) and Elatic Man Haley (14-12, 4.99) back up Lopez. CL Burt Bloodhound (32 Sv, 4.12) was another of the league's closers who just could not consistently punch people out. SP Mat Nielsen (9-8, 3.96) could offer support from the bullpen in the postseason. Prediction Diamond City may be the higher seed, but Atom is a sleeping giant as the defending champions. The Cats need to get past Lopez in Game 1, but we give them every advantage in Games 2 and 3. If they take Game 1, they sweep. Atom 2, Diamond City 1 #6 Oberland T-51s (72-58) vs #3 FHE Yao Guai (75-55) Season Series: FHE 5, Oberland 5 May 11-13 @Obe: FHE 23-8, FHE 13-8, Obe 6-5 June 27-28 @FHE: FHE 9-2, FHE 4-3 July 17-19 @FHE: Obe 7-0, FHE 4-1, Obe 7-5 (10) August 8-9 @Obe: Obe 11-3, Obe 15-11 Analysis While both FHE and Oberland played out a series that turned out even (5-5), there were lots of crooked scores in the series: 23-8, 13-8, and 15-11 to name a few. Both teams have offenses better than their pitching, but neither's pitching is as bad as they looked against each other. It could make for some interesting matchups in this too-short series. This is the one we look forward to the most in the Wildcard Round. While they enjoyed some initial success from the forming of the CBO, the T-51s were not very good from 2299-2306. Then, in 2307, they turned on the light and have been perennial playoff contenders, though they are still seeking their first "real" championship. Now with their seventh-straight trip and a respectable team, coming out as the 6th seed to win it all may prove to be too formidable. FHE has had even less success as a team, clinching just their fourth playoff appearance and first time to be there in back-to-back years. The Yao Guai have never won the Railroad League. With The Slog and Lexington earning their first league titles, the Yao Guai join only the four expansion teams to never win their league. The furthest they have been in the playoffs is the Association Semifinals Round, so they have also never come close to a championship. On offense, Oberland finished 6th in runs scored (670) with help from finishing 2nd in stolen bases (139). The middle of the lineup offeres the most pop in 2B Odd Todd Walker (.307/21/83/32 SB), LF Foo Fieterz (.305/31/103), and SS Stormin Normin MacDonald (.296/22/68). CF Earthbound Bussey (.249/8/35/41 SB) was the team leader in steals. The pitching was middle-of-the-pack, finishing 7th in runs allowed (633). SPs Emperry Alizm (12-8, 4.19), Spidr Caddell (9-9, 4.20), and Lannie Tykeson (4-5, 5.49) failed to blow away anyone. SP Chemmix Tailorman (12-7, 4.20) moves to the bullpen to join CL William Butcherman (33 SV, 3.22). The Yao Guai have a considerable advantage on offense, finishing 2nd in runs scored (731) and 2nd behind Vault 81 in just about every other category, too. Three stars of the lineup include CF Missile Crews (.320/27/92/57 SB) who led the CBO in SB, LF Innis Sark (.315/25/79), and 3B Slip Knotty (.252/32/67). FHE's pitching was not as good as Oberland's, which says a lot about their championship contention. The Yao Guai was 8th in runs allowed (639) but 6th in Starters ERA (4.30). All four starters had similar results: Baker Doazen (11-9, 4.01), Nien Nunb (17-4, 4.03), Kennett Kentucky (10-9, 4.21), and Munyeb Funyun (12-7, 4.17). The bullpen was led by CL Ryan Roberson (34 SV, 4.12) whose ERA was second only to Moondog Mendoza (2-1, 3.55). Prediction We hope for three high-scoring affairs to bring some excitement to this matchup. Looking at the teams, we feel that the Yao Guai is just slightly better and will use home-field advantage to take the series. FHE 2, Oberland 1

CBO Playoffs 2314
BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, CCBL, CYL, and CBA by Nat Wright-Kawolski 6 September 2314 Wildcard Round Results NCA #4 Bunker Hill 2, #5 Salem 0 Game 1: Bunker Hill 4, Salem 2 Wildcard Round Game 1 Goes to Bunker Hill, Thanks to Fugivmee The Bunker Hill 75ers powered past the visiting Salem Witch Hats, 4-2, in the opener of the Wildcard Round at Battle of Bunker Hill Memorial Stadium. Bunker Hill right fielder Deerlord Fugivmee was 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times, to lead the charge. The 75ers now lead the series 1-0. Miko Miko drew 1 walk against the Witch Hats. With the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run that put Bunker Hill in front, 3-2. "It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Fugivmee told the Bunker Hill Bulletin. The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Battle of Bunker Hill Memorial Stadium in Boston. Game 2: Bunker Hill 15, Salem 11 75ers Win Wildcard Round Many baseball pundits expected a close series in the North Charles Association Wildcard Round. It turned out quite a bit different. The Bunker Hill 75ers swept aside the Salem Witch Hats to advance to the Association Semifinal Round, winning the final game by a 15-11 score at Battle of Bunker Hill Memorial Stadium. The series MVP was left fielder Kasumi Goto, who hit .444 with a .444 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 2 runs. "We expected this series to go right down to the wire, so to sweep is a bit of a surprise," he said. "But we'll take it." The Bunker Hill 75ers will play against the The Slog Ghouls in the next round. The Slog had a bye in the Wildcard Round. The Association Semifinal Round schedule will be announced after the Wildcard Round finishes. NCA #3 Fort Hagen 2, #6 Concord 0 Game 1: Fort Hagen 7, Concord 6 Colt-45, Fort Hagen Open WCR Strong with 7-6 Win The Fort Hagen Silver Shroud got past the Concord Radstags by the score of 7-6 in the crucial first game of the Wildcard Round at Hubris Comics Park. Fort Hagen shortstop Brennan Colt-45 went 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 2, to lead the charge. With a 1-0 lead, the Silver Shroud will have two chances to close out the Radstags. Pawtucket, Rhode Island-born Huck McFarland came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the eighth, with the bases loaded and the Silver Shroud trailing 6-5, he hit a 2-run single to center to put Fort Hagen on top. "Our guys are never satisfied," said Fort Hagen manager Darnell Bright. The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Hubris Comics Park in Fort Hagen. Game 2: Fort Hagen 5, Concord 4 Silver Shroud Cruise to Association Semifinal Round with Sweep With a 5-4 win to wrap up the series at Hubris Comics Park, the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud have eliminated the Concord Radstags in the Wildcard Round and move on to the Association Semifinal Round. The Fort Hagen Silver Shroud will play against the Lexington Synths in the next round. Lexington had a bye in the Wildcard Round. The Association Semifinal Round schedule will be announced after the Wildcard Round finishes. SCA #5 Atom 2, #4 Diamond City 1 Game 1: Diamond City 6, Atom 5, 13 inn. Lopez, Swatters Take Dramatic Game 1 for 1-0 Series Lead The Diamond City Swatters started the Wildcard Round in dramatic fashion, stealing Game 1 from the Atom Cats in a walk-off in the 13th inning. Diamond City took the 6-5 win thanks in large part to a good day from starter Macho Lopez. The right-hander threw 5.2 innings of 4-hit ball in the win, which gave the Swatters a 1-0 lead to start the best-of-3 series. The decisive blow was delivered by Charles Towner in the bottom of the 13th when he hit a run-scoring double off 27-year old left-handed pitcher Junkyard Gourd to win the game for Diamond City. The home crowd went nuts. "It's true for every sport, I think, but the playoffs are so short that you've just got to get in and get hot," Diamond City manager A-Juan Rodriguez told BNN after the win. "We took care of the first part and now we're just working on the second." The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Great Green Jewel in Boston. Game 2: Atom 8, Diamond City 2 Ohnaka, Cats Wallop Swatters in Game 2 of WCR With center fielder Hondo Ohnaka leading the charge, the Atom Cats got a road win over the Diamond City Swatters, 8-2, in Game 2 of the Wildcard Round. Ohnaka went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 at The Great Green Jewel to help Atom force a 1-1 tie in the best-of-3 series. The game was all tied up in the top of the ninth, until Ohnaka delivered big-time for Atom, stroking a dramatic 3-run home run off Mat Nielsen. The game-changing hit put the Cats on top, 5-2. Atom entered the 9th inning trailing 2-1. Said losing manager A-Juan Rodriguez: "The at-bats, obviously, needed to be better." Game 3 is scheduled for Saturday at Coolest Field in Town in Atom Cats Garage. Game 3: Atom 4, Diamond City 2 Atom Takes Wildcard Round in Deciding Game It was a rousing finish to the Wildcard Round at Coolest Field in Town today. The Atom Cats sent the Diamond City Swatters home for the season with a 4-2 win in the decisive game of the series. The Cats took the series 2-1. Up next on their schedule is the Association Semifinal Round. Hauling in the MVP trophy was Atom center fielder Hondo Ohnaka. His numbers included a .417 batting average, 5 RBIs and 2 runs. "With any luck, I'll be hoisting another one of these at the end of the Association Semifinal Round," he said. The Atom Cats will play against the Vault 81 Dwellers in the next round. Vault 81 had a bye in the Wildcard Round. The Association Semifinal Round schedule will be announced after the Wildcard Round finishes. SCA #3 FHE 2, #6 Oberland 1 Game 1: FHE 5, oberland 3 Wildcard Round Game 1 Victory for Dozen and FHE The FHE Yao Guai powered past the visiting Oberland T-51s, 5-3, in the opener of the Wildcard Round at BosCom Circle. FHE starting pitcher Baker Dozen threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball, to lead the charge. The Yao Guai now lead the series 1-0. Dozen allowed 1 run on 4 hits over 7 innings for the Yao Guai. He walked 1 and struck out 6. "My job is to go out and execute," said Dozen. The next game is set to be played tomorrow at BosCom Circle in Fairline Hill Estates. Game 2: Oberland 9, FHE 3 Fieterz Blasts Yao Guai, T-51s Take Game 2, 9-3 With left fielder Foo Fieterz leading the charge, the Oberland T-51s got a road win over the FHE Yao Guai, 9-3, in Game 2 of the Wildcard Round. Fieterz was 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 at BosCom Circle to help Oberland force a 1-1 tie in the best-of-3 series. Fieterz had an important at-bat with the bases loaded in the top of the sixth, when he drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The T-51s went on to win. Yao Guai manager Squirt Becker did not take questions after the game, telling assembled reporters that he would hold a press conference "if and when we win the Sole Survivor Series." Game 3 is scheduled for Saturday at Oberland Stadium in Oberland. Game 3: FHE 6, Oberland 5 Yao Guai Advance to Association Semifinal Round It went the distance, but the FHE Yao Guai finally disposed of the Oberland T-51s 6-5 in the series clincher at Oberland Stadium. Winning the finale gave the Yao Guai the series, 2-1. They will now advance to the Association Semifinal Round. The Most Valuable Player Award went to FHE right fielder Innis Sark. He batted .333 in the series, collecting 4 RBIs and scoring 5 runs. "Innis deserves it," said Yao Guai manager Squirt Becker. "He was the glue that held our club together." The FHE Yao Guai will play against the Quincy Gunners in the next round. Quincy had a bye in the Wildcard Round. The Association Semifinal Round schedule will be announced after the Wildcard Round finishes. CBO Playoff Tree

CBO Playoffs 2314
BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, CCBL, CYL, and CBA by Nat Wright-Kawolski 6 September 2314 NCA Playoffs Preview - Association Semifinal Round #4 Bunker Hill 75ers (69-61) vs #1 The Slog Ghouls (84-46) Season Series: The Slog 3, Bunker Hill 1 April 25-26 @BH: Slog 7-4, Slog 10-5 July 1-2 @Slog: BH 14-4, Slog 16-6 Analysis The Slog, the NCA's #1 regular season team, now enters the fray with a battle against the Institute League for a chance at a Sole Survivor Series. First on the Ghouls' agenda is Bunker Hill, which the Ghouls beat 3 out of 4 times this season. While The Slog won the first (and now unofficial) Sole Survivor Series in 2296, they have not had much playoff success. In fact, with their success this season, the Ghouls have won the Brotherhood League for the first time in full CBO history. This season marks only the third time The Slog and Bunker Hill have been participants in the same playoffs (2310, 2312). They met in the Wildcard Round in 2312, a 2-0 series victory by the #5 Ghouls. The Slog is also a year removed from their deepest playoff run when they lost last season to Nahant in the NCACS. The Ghouls are a good all-around team and are the hands-on favorite to take the NCA. On offense, they were 2nd in runs scored (688), including tops in the NCA in average (.274) and WAR (24.5). All eight starters hit between 10 and 19 home runs with C Silvam Fourteen (.261/19/65) leading the team in homers from the 8-spot. SS Gavin Deux-Gas (.341/15/67/37 SB) was fantastic, and CF Bill Lazarus (.274/11/47/51 SB) finished tied for third in the CBO in steals. 2B Puddle Norman (.268/18/74) was the team leader in RBI on a well-balanced offense. Pitching for The Slog was even more successful, finishing 1st in runs allowed (508) and Starters ERA (3.35) to go with finishing 3rd in Bullpen ERA (4.06). All four starters were good: Klement Thodberg (15-4, 2.86), Flirt Perez (12-7, 3.53), Scott Fuhr (14-8, 3.17), and Isaiah Swindler (13-9, 3.47). The closers were split between Austen Austin (13 SV, 3.33) and Orlando Bransford (17 SV, 3.38), both of whom were decent. Quincy Jones (5-1, 2 SV, 2.79) led the bullpen in ERA and victories. Prediction With the well-balanced attack of The Slog matching against pitching staff that gives up way too many runs, especially in mid-to-late game, we have a hard time seeing the 75ers take this one. The Ghouls have a team primed for winning in the postseason, and we expect this matchup to be one-sided before the NCACS. The Slog 3, Bunker Hill 1 #3 Fort Hagen Silver Shroud (74-56) vs #2 Lexington Synths (76-54) Season Series: Lexington 7, Fort Hagen 3 April 8-9 @Lex: Lex 9-4, Lex 5-4 May 1-3 @FtH: FtH 5-3, Lex 1-0, FtH 3-1 July 13-15 @Lex: Lex 3-2, Lex 4-1, Lex 6-2 August 1-2 @FtH: FtH 6-2, FtH 2-1 Analysis Fort Hagen is hitorically the better team and has shown that with multiple trips to the Sole Survior Series and a championship just two seasons ago. Lexington is enjoying just its secong playoff appearance (2313) and first Instuitute League title. In terms of the playoffs, this appears to be the Shroud's series to lose. Where Lexington can show they have what it takes to beat the Silver Shroud would be looking at 2314 in a vacuum. The Synths dominated the season series, winning 7 of 10 games while holding Fort Hagen of an average of 2.9 runs per game. The Shroud's highest-scoring game in the season series was six runs in a 6-2 victory on August 1. For the Synths, offense is most certainly not why they are here. Lexington finished 9th in runs scored (622) with a 14th-place finish in wOBA (.321), something not typical of a #2 seed in the playoffs. Two players who helped to boost the offense are CF Packs Ton Kling (.282/33/83/37 SB) and 3B Tommy Whitetiger (.309/24/91). RF Hurr Lee Reyes (.326/7/26) missed a good chunk of the season but is healthy for the playoffs. Lexington was good on teh mound, finishing 2nd in runs allowed (551), including 3rd in Starters ERA (4.11) and 1st in Bullpen ERA (4.04). The top two starters were really good: Lyle Pine (16-8, 3.00) and Admiral Kelm (13-11, 3.49). Pine is in top contention for the Vim! Pitcher Award. SP Harry Baines (14-13, 5.35) was not so good, but he got the 3rd starter nod over Chase Wede (9-7, 4.83). In the bullpen, CL Hunter Kim (37 SV, 2.33) finished second in the NCA in saves only to the Shroud's Crazylegs Jones (39 SV, 2.36). Prediction The Synths have shown in back-to-back seasons that they are now a good team and can compete throughout the season. While their 7-3 regular season dominance over the Silver Shroud was impressive, we do not foresee them winning three more games in this series. Still, we will give them the HFA benefit of the doubt. Fort Hagen 3, Lexington 2

CBO Playoffs 2314
BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, CCBL, CYL, and CBA by Nat Wright-Kawolski 7 September 2314 SCA Playoffs Preview - Association Semifinal Round #5 Atom Cats (74-56) vs #1 Vault 81 Dwellers (95-35) Season Series: Vault 81 3, Atom 1 June 18-19 @V81: V91 7-3, V81 10-2 August 10-11 @Atom: Atom 1-0, V81 10-0 Analysis Vault 81 set the CBO's single-season record for victories with 95, breaking the 91 formerly held by the 2304 Roxbury team. That .731 winning percentage is also the third all-time behind the 2304 Sox (.758) and 2305 Sox (.733). In short, this Vault 81 team has been dominant. That dominance will need to continue for the Dwellers' 10th playoff appearance to turn into its first championship. Vault 81 reached its first Sole Survivor Series two seasons ago in a series loss to Fort Hagen. With Atom the reigning CBO champions, this matchup represents a battle of the last two SCA champions and a rematch of last season's SCACS. This season is actually only the third time that both teams have been in the playoffs the same season (2301, 2313). In 2301, they did not face each other in the Association Semifinal Round. The Cats went on to reach the Sole Survivor Series that season. Does that mean the odds favor Atom to reach the SSS again since they have made it both seasons the Dwellers have been in the playoffs with them? Looking at the 2314 Vault 81 team, it will be hard for any team to look good next to them when looking at the numbers. On offense, the Dwellers were 1st in every category but steals/baserunning (t-8th, 10th). They were tops in runs scored 803, which is just 14 runs short of their record 817 set last season. There is no Nuka Hitter Award winner coming from the Dwellers since their entire lineup was as consistent as a lineup can be with the lowest average at .265 (Chris Connexx) and the highest at .323 (Aaron Wright). Four players hit 20+ home runs: Pockets Wrench (25), Stu Gains (24), Arty Sefilian (23), and Phantom Vargas (21). Pitchers get no rest going through this lineup. For the Dwellers' pitching, they were also 1st in most pitching/defensive categories with the exception of FIP (2nd), WAR (3rd), and Defensive Efficiency (2nd). They gave up 513 runs, meaning they outscored teams by 2.23 runs per game (6.18-3.95). All four of the starters were excellent in Zack Million (14-4, 3.25), Exxie Summerset (22-5, 2.96), Scruffy Taguchi (15-5, 3.91), and Ryan Goodpryce (16-6, 3.71). Summerset is a finalist for the Vim! Pitcher Award. In the bullpen, there was a little back-and-forth between closers with Dynamite Delaney (38 SV, 3.12) getting the majority of the work and support from Healie McGorman (4 SV, 2.92). Prediction The Dwellers are built to win it all, so all of the pressure is on them. Last season, they were also built to win it all but not as dominant as this season. Anything less than a championship should be considered an epic failure on Vault 81's part. We do not think they will falter. We think the Cats will exit this battle battered and bruised. Vault 81 3, Atom 0 #3 FHE Yao Guai (75-55) vs #2 Quincy Gunners (75-55) Season Series: Quincy 2, FHE 2 April 23-24 @Qui: Qui 5-2, FHE 14-6 July 4-5 @FHE: FHE 4-3, Qui 9-8 Analysis Both Quincy and FHE look to be pretty even with identical records and a 2-2 season series. That means this matchup may be the best matchup of the Association Semifinal Round. We most certainly think this is the one most likely to go the maximum five games. Neither the Yao Guai nor Gunners have been winning franchises, both barely making playoff appearances. For FHE, this is its fourtsh playoff appearance and second-straight with most of its appearances happening in the past four seasons (2303, 2311, 2313, 2314). Quincy is making its fourth playoff appearance and first since 2310. (2299, 2309, 2310, 2314). Not only will this be the first postseason meeting between the teams but the first time they have both been in the playoffs in the same season. One will be playing in the SCACS. Quincy was in now way a dominant team but it did handle its business on both sides of the ball. On offense, the Gunners were 3rd in runs scored (727) with their best offensive category being wOBA (3rd at .345). 2B Will Hell (.312/32/99) was the unquestioned leader on offense. Wily vet Baywatch Fischler (.333/13/66) led the team in average. 3B Ross Merchantman (.255/30/62) hit a lot of solo home runs. The Gunners' pitching finished 6th in runs allowed with the 5th best Starters ERA (4.16) but 12th-best Bullpen ERA (5.41). Ace Make Money (13-7, 3.09) was really good. College Luckyman (9-14, 4.90) and Fosdyke Rochambeau (12-10, 4.37) will need to pitch better in the playoffs. Quincy traded for the top-rated closer in Professor Harriel (23 SV, 6.06), but he really struggled this season. In his first three seasons with Roxbury, Harriel's highest ERA was 2.50, so there may be some suspicion why the Sox were willing to part with him. The Gunners brought in Wick Prater (13 SV, 3.81) at the trade deadline to try to bolster the poor bullpen performances. Quincy was also around the bottom in defense, highlighting their poor pitching games with even worse defense behind them. Prediction We are hoping for this to go five games, so let's pick that to happen. We feel that the Yao Guai are put together just a little bit better for what will be needed to advance here. We give them the edge. FHE 3, Quincy 2

Season Pass Association
by Evan Guy 11 September 2314 Acadia Takes 2314 SPAS; Wins First Titles It was a storybook year for the Acadia Acadians as they closed out a 4-3 series win over the Victory Cave Crickets to claim the Season Pass Association Championship. They wrapped it up with a 8-5 victory to cap an incredible season after they brought home their 1st league championship earlier in the year. The Acadians manager offered his view of the series. "We had a lot of things going for us," he said, "offense and defense doing it at the right time. That's what it takes to win it all." The Cave Crickets manager commented: "We're disappointed we lost, but we're also very proud of what we did all year. They played better baseball than us and they beat us." During the Vim! League Harbor Division regular season, Acadia compiled a record of 49-41. ---------------------------------------------------------- Nuka News Update Reporting on the NWL, APL, NWLR, and BBL Leagues by Evan Guy 28 August 2314 Nuka Series With a 8-7 win over the Cherry Ghoulrillas tonight at Grandchester Mystery Mansion Park, the Victory Cave Crickets wrapped up their 5th title in team history. Victory left little doubt who was the better club. "Team" was the word of the day as the Cave Crickets celebrated the culmination of their banner year in the victors clubhouse following the game. "Hitting, pitching, fielding; those are all things you need to win, but most importantly you need a team, a team that works together toward the same collective goal," said Victory manager Cop Diaz. "Our players felt that way all year and they played that way. When one guy had an off day, 24 others stepped up their game and filled the void." A jovial mood filled the air as Victory celebrated into the night. The city's mayor said parade plans were underway and a "huge celebration" in the works. "We're going to celebrate our team, our championship Victory Cave Crickets," the mayor said. The champions completed the regular season with a first-place finish in the North Bradberton Division and a 51-40 record. The Grandchester Flying Ants were good enough to get past the Red Rocket Radrats at Grandchester Mystery Mansion Park today and secure the 3rd championship in franchise history. "When you wear Flying Ants on your shirt, you're good at something," Grandchester skipper Terrence Triplett told the press. Flying Ants right fielder Meal Ticket Hubbell was named MVP of the series after he went .583 with 2 home runs and 6 runs batted in. "It feels totally incredible," Hubbell said. "I could live to 1,000 years old and I'd remember this moment." The new champions capped off a great season with a 3-0 victory over the Radrats to win the Amusement Park Series 4-2. ---------------------------------------------------------- Vim! View Veracious, Vivacious, Vainglorious Vision of the Vim! Leagues by Vikky Vail 30 August 2314 Vim! Series Sometimes the winner is the one who got the lucky bounces and the lucky calls, and sometimes the winner is just the one who played better. It was the latter case in 2314, as the Acadia Acadians topped the National Park Gulpers 13-9 tonight at Uncle Ken Park to win the Vim! Series. It was the 1st title in franchise history. "When you play for championships, you have to play better than the team in the other dugout. We did that in this series, and all year. Now we're the best team in baseball," said Acadia catcher Brow Davis, who was named series MVP. The Acadians took the series 4-3. The new titleholders completed the regular season with a first-place finish in the Vim! League Harbor Division and a 49-41 record. Acadia manager Limp Durn grinned and nodded when asked to comment on Davis's words. "Brow said it best -- we played better than the other team," the skipper said. Hometown officials announced they were already planning a "grand celebration" for the winners in the days to come. The MS Azalea Shipwrecks ignited a huge celebration as they beat the Cliff's Edge Actors 6-5 to win the Mount Desert Island Series. MS Azalea won the series 4-1, capturing the title for the 3rd time. "We stepped it up at the right time, and now we're the champs," said MS Azalea manager Chris Woodhouse. "It's a great feeling." The champs finished the regular season 36-24 and claimed first place in the Old Longfellow Division. In the jubilant clubhouse after the decisive game, series MVP and second baseman Jordan Tuugawd said the Shipwrecks have "great fans and they deserve this." "I am so happy for our city right now," he said.

Game 4: The Slog 8, Bunker Hill 0 Ghouls Win Association Semifinal Round The Association Semifinal Round may not have lived up to the expectation that it would be a dogfight that would go the distance. The The Slog Ghouls, however, are not complaining. The Ghouls were plenty happy to have wrapped up the series early and to have knocked out the Bunker Hill 75ers to advance to the Association Championship Series. The Slog won the final game by a 8-0 count at Battle of Bunker Hill Memorial Stadium and the series 3-1. Ghouls center fielder Bill Lazarus was named series MVP, as he hit .500 with a .500 on-base percentage. He added 0 home runs, drove in 0 RBI and scored 6 runs. "It's not going to be the last time Bunker Hill makes it to the playoffs, so it's sure a nice feeling to put them out this year," Lazarus said. "We just need to keep this going and take it day by day." The The Slog Ghouls will play against the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud in the next round. Fort Hagen won their series against the Lexington Synths 3 games to 1. The Association Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Association Semifinal Round finishes. Kelm quieted the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud, enabling Lexington to grab the 5-0 win and move into a 1-1 tie in the best-of-5 series. Kelm gave Lexington a blue-ribbon performance. The 6-foot-4 right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit over 7.2 innings of work. "Admiral pitched his heart out," said Lexington manager Brandon Salinas. SCA #1 Vault 81 3, #5 Atom 0 Game 1: Vault 81 2, Atom 0 Association Semifinal Round Game 1 Victory for Million and Vault 81 The Association Semifinal Round got off to a quiet start, with the host Vault 81 Dwellers taking a low-scoring, 2-0 win over the Atom Cats. Vault 81 right-hander Zack Million was marvelous at CURIE Inc. Field. The Dwellers now hold a 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Million, a native of Dover, New Hampshire, was dealing all game. He kept Atom hitters off-balance, while giving the Dwellers 8 quality innings. Million threw 92 pitches, allowing 2 hits and striking out 6. "We've got a great group of guys," Million said, "and we're having fun right now." The next game is set to be played tomorrow at CURIE Inc. Field in Boston. Game 2: Vault 81 3, Atom 2 Vault 81 Extends Series Lead in Low-Scoring Affair The Vault 81 Dwellers got a strong game from starter Exxie Summerset, but it was some clutch hitting that ultimately delivered the win. The Dwellers took the 3-2 win over the Atom Cats in Game 2 of the Association Semifinal Round in a 9th inning walk-off. The win capped off a fine outing for the right-handed Summerset. Summerset threw 6.0 innings of 4-hit ball in the win, which gave the Dwellers a 2-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Pockets Wrench was the walk-off hero for Vault 81. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Dwellers right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home. He had 0 home runs, drove in 1 RBI and scored 2 runs. The Vault 81 Dwellers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the FHE Yao Guai - Quincy Gunners series. FHE leads the series 2 games to 1. The Association Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Association Semifinal Round finishes. SCA #2 Quincy 3, #3 FHE 2 Game 1: Quincy 10, FHE 4 Hall, Quincy Open ASF Strong with 10-4 Win The Quincy Gunners started the Association Semifinal Round in style, downing the visiting FHE Yao Guai at The Stone House by a score of 10-4 to grab an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Gunners left fielder Alchemist Hall was 5 for 6 with a home run, a double, and 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. In the bottom of the third, Quincy shortstop Pipewrench Mathis had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Mathis stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 2-0, Quincy. For the game, he was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. "It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Mathis. The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Stone House in Quincy. Game 2: FHE 14, Quincy 3 Dahlia Blasts Gunners, Yao Guai Take Game 2, 14-3 With left fielder Blue Dahlia leading the charge, the FHE Yao Guai got a road win over the Quincy Gunners, 14-3, in Game 2 of the Association Semifinal Round. Dahlia went 2-5 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 4 at The Stone House to help FHE force a 1-1 tie in the best-of-5 series. A key moment came with no one out in the top of the eighth. That's when Dahlia hit a fastball from Ghost Kyudalson for a grand slam home run, putting FHE up, 13-3. "It was a tough day, no getting around it," said losing manager Scrappy Barios. Game 3 is scheduled for Thursday at BosCom Circle in Fairline Hill Estates. Game 3: FHE 6, Quincy 5 Gunners Hammered by Espinosa, Drop Game 3 to Yao Guai The FHE Yao Guai moved to within one game of the Association Championship Series, downing the visiting Quincy Gunners at BosCom Circle by a score of 6-5. Yao Guai third baseman Rocket Arm Espinosa did some major damage. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. The win gives the Yao Guai a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Association Semifinal Round. Espinosa contributed in the bottom of the second. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a run-scoring single. It was one at-bat among others that helped FHE get the win. Gunners manager Scrappy Barios did not take questions after the game, telling assembled reporters that he would hold a press conference "if and when we win the Sole Survivor Series." The next game is set to be played tomorrow at BosCom Circle in Fairline Hill Estates. Game 4: Quincy 2, FHE 1 Gunners Clip Yao Guai, 2-1, in ASF Contest The Quincy Gunners and the FHE Yao Guai will take the Association Semifinal Round to a decisive 5th game. In a must-win situation, the Gunners beat the Yao Guai, 2-1, at BosCom Circle to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Quincy left-hander Make Money had a big role in the win. He threw 7.0 innings of 2-hit ball. Money threw well for Quincy, thwarting the FHE offense. The left-hander tossed 86 pitches over 7 innings. He allowed just 1 run on 2 hits. "This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Money said after the game. The next game is set to be played for Sunday, September 13th , 2314 at The Stone House in Quincy. Game 5: Quincy 3, FHE 2 Gunners Advance to Association Championship Series The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat were on full display tonight at The Stone House as the Association Semifinal Round stretched to the final game. It was the Quincy Gunners feeling the thrill of victory, with a 3-2 win over the FHE Yao Guai, who were feeling the devastation of coming up short in their quest to make the Association Championship Series. "There's no way around it -- this sucks," said FHE manager Squirt Becker. "Congratulations to Quincy, but I won't sugarcoat it, no one is happy about anything that transpired here tonight." Instrumental in the 3-2 series win was left fielder Alchemist Hall, who was named MVP. He hit .429 with a .478 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 4 runs. "We've got the most important stat of all and that's this final win -- that's the one that matters," he said. The Quincy Gunners will play against the Vault 81 Dwellers in the next round. Vault 81 won their series against the Atom Cats 3 games to 0. The Association Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Association Semifinal Round finishes. CBO Playoff Tree

CBO Playoffs 2314
BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, CCBL, CYL, and CBA by Nat Wright-Kawolski 14 September 2314 Playoffs Preview - Association Championship Series Round #3 Fort Hagen Silver Shroud (74-56) vs #1 The Slog Ghouls (84-46) Season Series: Fort Hagen 3, The Slog 1 June 16-17 @Slog: FtH 5-3, FtH 3-1 August 12-13 @FtH: FtH 7-2, Slog 10-5 Analysis Two seasons ago, the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud won their first championship. One year later, The Slog found itself in the NCA Champions Series, only to fall to Nahant in the battle of wildcard teams. The only playoff matchup between these two teams came in 2312 when the #1 Shroud won three out of five in the Association Semifinal Round over the #5 Ghouls. This season, the Shroud enter as the 3rd seed, while the Ghouls are the top seed in the NCA. For The Slog, they also claim their Sole Survior Series crown in the first season of baseball in the Commonwealth before Commissioner Nate Howard was able to fully unite the four leagues. In that season, the Ghouls were the 7th seed of eight teams, ultimately defeating Finch Farm (now Nahant) in the SSS. While the Ghouls look to be the better team, the one-on-one matchups between the teams favored the Silver Shroud. Nuke Laloosh (2-0, 3.14) was the major pitching hero, but will not be back in 2314 with a shoulder injury suffered in August. Ony Laloosh and Sarthis Idren (1-1, 4.26) started against The Slog. 1B Nick Coulter (.583/2/7) had the most success hitting for Fort Hagen. The Ghouls did not light the bats on fire against three solid pitching outings against them in the season series, but RF Cypher Raige (.400/0/1) and 2B Puddle Norman (.364/1/4) were able to scrap together some hits. Rookie CF Name Brand Brown (.154/1/4) was not highly successful but did tie the stream lead in homers and RBI against the Silver Shroud--he is not part of the playoffs roster, though. On the mound, Isaiah Swindler (0-2, 3.75) pitched decently in his two matchups against Laloosh but could not find the victory. Klement Thodberg (0-1, 4.35) started the other two games. Looking at overall team stats, the Ghouls seem to have the advantage with the top two stats being runs scored and runs allowed. In both categories, The Slog has better numbers, including being 2nd in the NCA in runs (688) and 1st in runs allowed (508), while Fort Hagen was 10th in runs (620) and tied for 3rd in runs allowed (584). Prediction If Laloosh were available, this would be the Shroud's series to take. Unfortunately, the loss of a great pitcher is hard to overcome, especially when the success against the Ghouls came from his dominance. The Slog has built up a solid team of upcoming youngsters and established veterans and look ready to take the NCA this season after disappointment in the NCACS last season. We'll take them. The Slog 4, Fort Hagen 2 #2 Quincy Gunners (75-55) vs #1 Vault 81 Dwellers (95-35) Season Series: Vault 81 4, Quincy 0 May 21-22 @Qui: V81 4-1, V81 6-0 Ju;y 25-26 @V81: V81 6-4, V81 8-1 Analysis We were curious what the Dwellers would do in their opening round after suffering some recent trauma in playoff action. Well, the team that set the CBO record with 95 wins swept the defending CBO champions, Atom, to move on. Now, we are not sure any team is capable of handling this machine. Quincy will most certainly try, though we see them as being happy to get this far after some extensive struggles over the years. In this season of returning to the playoffs after missing the last three seasons, the Gunners also return to the SCACS. In 2310, in just their third-ever playoff appearance, Quincy reached the SCACS as the #2 seed, eventually dropping the series to #4 Oberland. The Gunners also defeated Vault 81 that season in the Association Semifinals Round, winning 3-2. It was the only playoff matchup between the two squads. Now, the Dwellers are out for revenge. That revenge creeped up in the regular season when Vault 81 won all four matchups and held the Gunners to 0, 1, and 1 runs in three of the matchups. Pitching is tough for Vault 81, and Quincy has struggled against good pitching this season. All seems to favor the team from the vault. Looking at statistical standouts for each team in their seasonal matchups, first of all, there is not much to say about Quincy hitting. Team star, 2B Will Hell, (.333/2/4) was the only respectable hitter. LF Desert Dog Smith (.100/0/0) and SS Pipewrench Mathis (.077/0/0) both had a hit apiece with 10+ at-bats. Pitching was not much better with Fosdyke Rochambeau (0-2, 8.10) getting shellacked in two starts. SP Make Money (0-1, 1.80) had a decent outing in his one start but left trailing 1-0 in a game the Gunners dropped 4-1. Vault 81 did not have great batting stats, but a few players thrived in the season series. RF Joe Rathmann (.421/1/2) led the team in average, while 3B Artie Sefilian (.375/2/7) was the power leader. All four starters got a start against the Gunners with Scruffy Taguchi (1-0, 0.00) and Ryan Goodpryce (1-0, 0.00) not giving up a run in their innings pitched. Zack Million (1-0, 5.06) gave up some runs but still came away with the 6-4 victory. Prediction We already hate that we picked a team to sweep in the Association Semifinal Round. It would be insane for us to predict a sweep in the Championship Series Round. Statistically, it seems highly unlikely that a team wins all eight games against another good team. Easy City Downs has a high payout for a sweep, so they have calculated the numbers and agree. The Gunners are only missing starting CF Duff Fee (.224/2/23) who was not doing great when he was injured. Otherwise, both teams are intact. In the end, we have no doubt Vault 81 will be headed to the Sole Survivor Series. Insanity ensues. Vault 81 4, Quincy 0

No surprise Vault 81 dispatched the Atom Cats easily. Call me crazy but I can see them sweeping through. Or maybe a loss in each of the next two rounds. They just seem unbeatable!

I don't know how they get a better chance at a championship than this year.

CBO Playoffs 2314
BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, CCBL, CYL, and CBA by Nat Wright-Kawolski 23 September 2314 Association Championship Series Round Results NCA #1 The Slog 4, #3 Fort Hagen 3 Game 1: The Slog 8, Fort Hagen 7, 10 inn. Deux-Gas Blasts Silver Shroud, Ghouls Take Game 1, 8-7 The The Slog Ghouls took the first game of the Association Championship Series in dramatic fashion, topping the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud, 8-7, in an extra-inning walk-off win. Ghouls shortstop Gavin Deux-Gas went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 3. The game was decided with no one out in the bottom of the tenth. With The Slog trailing 7-6, Deux-Gas hit a fastball from Max Grove for a 2-run single. In the blink of an eye, the Ghouls had a walk-off win. "This kind of game is tough on the heart," said winning manager Nate Pugh. The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Tarberry Field Forever in The Slog. Game 2: The Slog 2, Fort Hagen 1 The Slog Extends Series Lead in Low-Scoring Affair The The Slog Ghouls got a strong performance from pitcher Flirt Perez, who stymied the Fort Hagen offense en route to a 2-1 win in Game 2 of the Association Championship Series. The Silver Shroud could never get a bead on the left-handed Perez, who threw 6.0 innings allowing 1 run. The Ghouls now hold a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-7 series. Shirt Fowler had a critical at-bat with one out in the bottom of the eighth for The Slog. He came through with a 2-run single to put The Slog in front, 2-1. "Every team in baseball loses," Silver Shroud manager Darnell Bright said. "We're in the playoffs and we still have the same guys that got us here. We'll bounce back." Game 3 is scheduled for Thursday at Hubris Comics Park in Fort Hagen. Game 3: Fort Hagen 7, The Slog 4 Ghouls Hammered by Colt-45, Drop Game 3 to Silver Shroud The Fort Hagen Silver Shroud have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading The Slog Ghouls, winning, 7-4, at Hubris Comics Park. Silver Shroud shortstop Brennan Colt-45 was 3-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The win cuts the deficit facing the Silver Shroud to 2-1 in the best-of-7 Association Championship Series. Third Baseman Jeet November made an impact for Fort Hagen, when he swatted a 2-run double off Scott Fuhr in the bottom of the third. For the contest, November went 1-3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs. "It was a solid, all-around game for us," said Fort Hagen manager Darnell Bright. The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Hubris Comics Park in Fort Hagen. Game 4: The Slog 4, Fort Hagen 3 Almost There: The Slog On Cusp of ACS Triumph After 4-3 Win The The Slog Ghouls went into extra innings against the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud but ultimately moved to within one game of the Sole Survivor Series. The Ghouls downed the Silver Shroud at Hubris Comics Park by a score of 4-3. Even as his squad took the loss, Fort Hagen left-hander Sarthis Idren threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The win gives the Ghouls a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Association Championship Series. Puddle Norman had a direct impact on the outcome. Norman contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the tenth inning to put The Slog up, 4-3. "Winning the game is always the first objective," Norman said. The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Hubris Comics Park in Fort Hagen. Game 5: Fort Hagen 6, The Slog 5 Silver Shroud Clip Ghouls, 6-5, in ACS Contest Already down in the Association Championship Series, the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud put on their best show, beating the The Slog Ghouls by a final score of 6-5. Silvam Fourteen was special. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Fort Hagen now trails The Slog 3-2 in the best-of-7 affair. Fort Hagen got a knockout punch from Orcin Cardinal. The right fielder hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome. "The game of baseball will test you," said Darnell Bright, the Fort Hagen skipper. "This one tested us." The next game is set to be played for Monday, September 21st , 2314 at Tarberry Field Forever in The Slog. Game 6: Fort Hagen 7, The Slog 5 Fort Hagen Win Evens Series at 3 The Fort Hagen Silver Shroud and the The Slog Ghouls will take the Association Championship Series to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation, the Silver Shroud beat the Ghouls, 7-5, at Tarberry Field Forever to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Fort Hagen left-hander La'Ray Kalel had a big role in the win. He threw 5.0 innings of 2-hit ball. Fort Hagen used a clutch at-bat from Sleve McDichael to capture the win. The catcher hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Silver Shroud ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger. "I just kind of blacked out and executed my pitches," said Kalel. The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Tarberry Field Forever in The Slog. Game 7: The Slog 18, Fort Hagen 5 Ghouls Move on to Sole Survivor Series The Slog Ghouls won a nail-biting series against the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud 4-3, wrapping up the Association Championship Series finale 18-5 at Tarberry Field Forever. Twelve of those 18 runs came in the 5th inning. Rich Verdu was named Game MVP after going 2 for 2 with a double, a home run, two runs, and five RBI. Silvam Fourteen added a 3 for 5 performance with a double, three runs, and four RBI. Shirt Fowler added two doubles. Ghouls shortstop Gavin Deux-Gas was named the series MVP. He batted .400, drove in 8 runs and scored 5 to lead The Slog into the next round of play. "Gavin was real solid for us, real solid," said Ghouls manager Nate Pugh. "I normally say I'd like to have nine of him out there, but thankfully we got by with just one this time." The Slog Ghouls will play against the Quincy Gunners in the next round. Quincy won their series against the Vault 81 Dwellers 4 games to 2. The Sole Survivor Series schedule will be announced after the Association Championship Series finishes. SCA: #2 Quincy 4, #1 Vault 81 2 Game 1: Quincy 4, Vault 81 3 Dwellers Hammered by Fischler, Drop Game 1 to Gunners The Quincy Gunners started the Association Championship Series in style, winning on the road against the Vault 81 Dwellers at CURIE Inc. Field by a score of 4-3 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Gunners right fielder Baywatch Fischler excelled. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. There was more than one reason the Gunners beat the Dwellers, but Fischler's big at-bat in the top of the third was an important factor. He staked his team to a 3-0 lead when he hit a 3-run home run. Fischler attributed the win to his team's "grittiness." The next game is set to be played tomorrow at CURIE Inc. Field in Boston. Game 2: Vault 81 14, Quincy 4 Kanz Blasts Gunners, Dwellers Take Game 2, 14-4 The Vault 81 Dwellers defeated the Quincy Gunners, 14-4, in Game 2 of the Association Championship Series. Making an impact was pinch hitter Jonesie Kanz, who went 1-1 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The win moves Vault 81 into a 1-1 tie with Quincy in the series. A key moment came with two out in the bottom of the third. That's when Kanz hit a cutter from Fosdyke Rochambeau for a grand slam home run, putting Vault 81 up, 7-3. "Pedal to the metal" is how Vault 81 manager Drac Jaskula described his team's approach. The next game is set to be played for Friday, September 18th , 2314 at The Stone House in Quincy. Game 3: Quincy 3, Vault 81 2 Gunners Clip Dwellers, 3-2, in ACS Contest The bats were silent for much of the day at The Stone House. But Quincy right fielder Baywatch Fischler conjured up just enough offense to carry the Gunners past the Vault 81 Dwellers, 3-2. In a game dominated by the pitching staffs, Fischler went 1 for 1 with a double and 3 walks. He drove in 2 runs. The Gunners now lead 2-1 in the best-of-7 series. In the bottom of the second, with the bases loaded, Fischler came to the plate. He drew a walk, driving in 1 run off Scruffy Taguchi to put the Gunners in the lead, 1-0. Fischler attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity." The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Stone House in Quincy. Game 4: Vault 81 5, Quincy 4 Sefilian Blasts Gunners, Dwellers Take Game 4, 5-4 The Vault 81 Dwellers knotted up the Association Championship Series at The Stone House, thanks in large part to third baseman Arty Sefilian. Sefilian was 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once as he overpowered the Quincy Gunners, enabling Vault 81 to grab the 5-4 win and move into a 2-2 tie in the best-of-7 series. Sefilian hit a 3-run home run in the top of the second to help the Vault 81 cause. The home run, which was hit off Make Money, allowed Vault 81 to take a 3-0 lead. "The clubhouse vibe is great," said Vault 81 manager Drac Jaskula. The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Stone House in Quincy. Game 5: Quincy 6, Vault 81 2 Critical Game 5 Goes to Host Gunners, 6-2 Game 5 was big. So was Fosdyke Rochambeau. In leading Quincy to a crucial 6-2 victory over the Vault 81 Dwellers at The Stone House, the Quincy starter rose to the occasion, tossing 6.2 good innings. Rochambeau threw 6.2 innings allowing 2 runs as the Gunners defended their home field to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 Association Championship Series. Will Hell, who finished 5th in the SCA in OPS with .996 last year, helped out the Quincy cause in the bottom of the third inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the second baseman went 2 for 5 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. "It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Hell. Game 6 is scheduled for Tuesday at CURIE Inc. Field in Boston. Game 6: Quincy 5, Vault 81 3 Gunners Advance to Sole Survivor Series The Quincy Gunners took time to celebrate with the Quincy fans who stuck around after the game, following the team's Association Championship Series triumph over the Vault 81 Dwellers. Members of the Gunners hung around chatting, high-fiving and taking pictures with the Quincy fans in attendance at CURIE Inc. Field, long after the last pitch had been thrown in their 5-3 win to seal the series 4-2. Will Hell's 4th-inning, two-run home run to give the Gunners their first lead made the difference in the game. Hell finished 2 for 4 with a double, a home run, two runs, and two RBI. "We've got great fan support," said right fielder Baywatch Fischler. "Whether we're at home or on the road, the fans support us. So we wanted to show them how important that is to us. Some Vault 81 fans that were there even congratulated us on the win." For the series, Fischler hit .500 with a .630 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, 9 RBI and scored 4 runs. Things weren't so cordial on the Dwellers side of things. Their clubhouse was closed to media after the game and all players and coaches quickly dressed and left the stadium after the end to their season. The Quincy Gunners don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the The Slog Ghouls - Fort Hagen Silver Shroud series. That series is tied at 3 games apiece. The Sole Survivor Series schedule will be announced after the Association Championship Series finishes. CBO Playoff Tree

Sole Survivor Series 2314
BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, CCBL, and CYL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 24 September 2314 Sole Survivor Series: #1 The Slog Ghouls (84-46) vs #2 Quincy Gunners (75-55) Season Series: Quincy 2, The Slog 1 May 30-June 1 @Qui: Qui 11-1, Slog 6-0, Qui 11-4 Analysis At the beginning of the 2314 season, PAM predicted the Vault 81 Dwellers and The Slog Ghouls to be the top two teams, picking them to ultimately meet in the Sole Survivor Series. Both were indeed at the top of their associations, though the Dwellers are not here. Instead, the team picked to finish 3rd in the Minutemen League and miss the playoffs with a losing record, Quincy, shocked the ML and then Vault 81 to get here, knocking off two powerhouses in FHE and the Dwellers. The Ghouls were supposed to be here a year ago, too, but fell in the rankings, had a playoff run to the NCACS, but then fell to Nahant, the surprise 6th-seed representative. This season, though, The Slog took care of business in the regular season and the NCA playoffs, earning their first official trip to the Sole Survivor Series (they were the winners of the now unofficial first SSS in 2296). Quincy's furthest playoff run in franchise history had been the SCACS, getting there for the first time in 2310 before succumbing to Oberland. The Gunners surpassed that this season, shocking #1 Vault 81, the team with the most wins (95) in CBO history. The SCA has now not sent the #1 team to the SSS in six consecutive seasons with the 2308 T-51s being the last #1 team to get there. Looking at a comparison of statistics,The Slog seems to have most of the advantages. Whie the Gunners were slightly more efficient at scoring runs (727-688), the Ghouls were far more efficient at preventing them (508-630). When considering how pitching is a factor, that give The Slog a lot of advantages and the likelihood to have the advantage each game. However, it is worth mentioning that Quincy scored 11 runs in two of the three games in the regular season, showing that they may have the Ghouls' pitchers' numbers more than any other team in the CBO. Looking at player vs player at positions, first let's look at those and then show a comparison of the matchups as expected in Game 1. SP1 - Klement Thodberg (15-4, 2.86) > Makie Money (13-7, 3.09) SP2 - Flirt Perez (12-7, 3.53) > College Luckyman (9-14, 4.90) SP3 - Scott Fuhr (14-8, 3.17) > Fosdyke Rochambeau (12-10, 4.37) RP1 - Kodak Carter (2-0, 4.02) < Wick Prater (3-5, 13 SV, 3.81) CL - Orlando Bransford (17 SV, 3.38) < Professor Harriel (23 SV, 6.06) C - Silvam Fourteen (.261/19/65) > Kinsella Birdwatcher (.295/16/82) 1B - Baktu DaWell (.255/10/47) < Voodoo Sycamore (.295/17/62) 2B - Puddle Norman (.268/18/74) < Will Hell (.312/32/99) 3B - Shirt Fowler (.293/11/35) < Ross Merchantman (.255/30/62) SS - Gavin Deux-Gas (.341/15/67/37) > Pipewrench Mathis (.248/12/49) LF - President Washington (.270/16/41) < Alchemist Hall (.308/20/61) CF - Bill Lazarus (.274/11/47/51) > Lakeview Malone (.266/3/11) RF - Cypher Raige (.301/12/51) < Baywatch Fischler (.333/13/66) In an offensive star vs offensive star matchup, the battles of Deux-Gas vs Hell seems to be an intriguing one. Both hit for average and power, though Hell was much more productive in the power department in 2314. Deux-Gas, though, is light on his feet, giving him the extra advantage of swiping bases (37) from the middle of the lineup. X-factor veterans for each team are Fourteen of the Ghouls and Fischler of Quincy. Both are in their mid-30s but still playing at a high level. Both are capable of carrying their teams. Both could end up as Series MVP. On the mound, The Slog will run on a 2-3-1 rotation thanks to playing a 7th game in the NCACS. The Gunners will work on a 1-2-3 rotation, so our above analysis is not accurate to the matchups. Still, all three of the Ghouls' starters would be expected to matchup decently well except for maybe a 3-1 matchup. Therefore, The Slog has the early pitching advantage, assuming they can play more like May 31 than May 30 or June 1 in the regular season matchups. In the May 31 game, Perez pitched 7.1 scoreless innings before giving up the ball to the bullpen. Key Injuries The Slog none Quincy CF Duff Fee (.224/2/23) Prediction We are often enamored by two sometimes opposing forces: talent and momentum. In the Association Championship Series Round, Vault 81 had both the talent and momentum, holding the best record and sweeping the round before. However, Quincy quickly broke up that momentum by winning Game 1 and then going on to win the series in six games. This round, then, the Ghouls have more talent but the Gunners' wins over two great teams give them the momentum. Let's pivot. In the 10 previous series in the 2314 playoffs, the winner of Game 1 has won the series nine times. The only exception came in the Wildcard Round when Diamond City defeated Atom before succumbing in the next two games. Both of these teams have gone 2-0 in their first games and then never fell behind. One team has to give, but we are going to go with Game 1 being the leader in this. In that case, we give the Ghouls a slight edge and thus will go against our initial instinct in our final prediction. The Slog 4, Quincy 2
