Perfectos Return to Top in OL S420
Lemp Ave., which started the season in first, returned to that spot in what has probably narrowed to a four-way chase for the silver crown. There is a second-tier quartet which could still call themselves contenders, but their respective climbs would be steep and crowded at this point.

Paxville had a 10-3 month to pull out a bit more of a lead.

Sunday relentlessly driving away from the competition. At the other end, Hartford having one of the worst seasons in OL I've ever seen.

Crakes Return to Lead in OL S420
HelthWyzer won 7 of 10 to move into the lead as the chase moves into the final month with the top quartet bunched like the AL in 1968. Lemp Ave., 5-4, slipped to second with Route 66, 14-8, and Las Vegas, 7-6, rounding out the gang of four. While Cleveland, 10-6, Otsego Lake, 13-7, and Asylum, 8-6, still have mathematical chances, the distance and hurdles would argue against a miracle run.
The Crakes and Perfectos meet for four games early on, a series which could spell success for either or even doom for both. HelthWyzer has only three other OL games and Lemp Ave. just four, the least amounts of any of the contenders. Las Vegas has 20 to play, Route 66, 19. Cleveland, with 10, Otsego Lake, 14, and Asylum 12, probably need to win out to overtake the pack ahead of them. Both Route 66 and Otsego Lake play their final 10 games of the season in OL, so the race could go down to the wire. I have not looked at contenders for the Gauff and True awards yet and am open to suggestions. Last edited by Stanley Kuppchaser; 02-26-2022 at 12:34 PM. |

It may be a bit unlikely now, but there're plenty of games left yet for a dramatic turnaround between Paxville and Nowhere.

Annandale went 2-10 to go from top to 2nd bottom! Coney Island are the latest team to leapfrog Silly, with Babel also waiting in the wings.
As many as 7 teams could be heading for Silver! |

Bronze
In the two-team race for the Bronze crown, Sunday has the upperhand, with only six OL games remaining on their schedule. West Burlington would need to win most, if not all, of their remaining 12 OL contests.

A pair of 1-2 series losses was enough for Paxville with Nowhere only going 6-4.
Unfortunately, the Mundys' valiant run at the end was in vain, so we have 3 teams dropping to Gold again. For the Kauff Award, I've ignored the higher WAR players from Knockemstiff and Paxville, and instead gone for Nowhere's Hank Aaron. With 32 homers and 111 runs batted in, he's my MVP. For the True Award, with 17 wins and a 3.24 ERA, I've chosen Port Ruppert's Greg Maddux. As ever, I'm not expecting my teams to do anything special in the playoffs, but who knows? |

Congrats to the Coney Island Warriors!
A 12-5 record in the final month (1 shy of the Warriors total games!) wasn't quite enough for Silly to claw their way back to the top. Just Babel and Silly into the playoffs, but a whopping 6 teams relegated. I'd say that Seattle and Waffletown were particularly unfortunate. For the Kauff Award, I've gone with Silly's George Brett and his 116 RBI, over Coney Island's higher WAR Luke Appling. For the True Award, Babel's Greg Maddux led in Wins (20), ERA (1.90), WHIP (0.99), BB/9 (1.1), and by a long way with 10.1 rWAR. Good luck to Babel and Silly in the playoffs! |

Sunday bagged the Bronze title with relative ease. Awards for best hitter/pitcher will be awarded later today.

HelthWyzer Hoists OL Sliver Crwon
The Crakes started off the final month by sweeping Lemp Ave. in four games to dash the hopes of the rest of the league early on and won the crown in fairly handy fashion.
For the Kauff award, Ivan Rodriguez had a stellar offensive season and handled HelthWyzer's top flight staff with aplomb. Jacob deGrom led that staff and took home the True award. |
