Thank you Cusick. This is an excellent photo. The cards of Reid with the Phillies are the only images I have seen of him. Thank you for the link. I had put his name in the search engine looking for minor league images but did not think of pursuing other threads. Thanks again,

I think the guy you called "Hally Harvey" was Terry Harvey. https://www.baseball-reference.com/r...d=harvey001ter The photo comes from the Raleigh (NC) News & Observer of Aug. 9, 1995. I was unable to confirm that Jose Diaz, Sam Fernandez, and Annibal Encarnacion were even with Devil Rays' affiliates, much less than find photos of them. I did confirm that Ed Austin and Andres B. Cruz (note spelling correction) were indeed related to the Devil Rays, but I couldn't find photos of them. |

LaMar W, Davis
I'm looking for any image of outfielder/first baseman LaMar Davis who played in the Senators organization from 1967 to 1971. Davis was a productive hitter but apparently never good enough at the plate or in the field to advance beyond A ball. He was drafted out of the University of Maryland in 1967.
All attempts from a basic Google search to the U of MD and including a bit of social media luck have proven fruitless. Curiously The Baseball Cube only provides LaMar Davis college statistics. Again no mention of a hometown , high school or a specific date of birth beyond 1945. This might be a difficult request and I truly appreciate any and efforts to bring back LaMar Davis. Thank you. https://www.baseball-reference.com/r...d=davis-001lam |

Larry Davis
He may have played as Larry Davis at Maryland. Photo is from the 1966 University of Maryland BB guide. Everything matches up..height, weight, bats and throws including hometown Ellicott City.

Excellent find, bobw. I can confirm by citing the Salisbury (MD) Daily Times of June 18, 1966 which reports on five U. of Maryland players chosen in the baseball draft. One was first baseman Larry Davis, picked by the Yankees. That lines up perfectly with LaMar Davis' situation in 1966.

Thank you bobw for the excellent research. I appreciate the effort and swift response. How were you able to access a 1966 University of Maryland baseball guide?

Thank you Cusick for the confirmation. Playing under a preferred name other than his birth name would have stonewalled my limited resources. Appreciation to you and bobw.

Julian Ladera
A wiry sidearmer from Venezuela , Ladera briefly pitched in the Browns and Reds organizations. He did most of his work in his home country and in Mexico also pitching in the Caribbean World Series . A baseball nomad it seems Ladera would pitch wherever their was a game, Credited with 150 professional wins ... stats incomplete. A member of the Venezuelan Beisbol HOF.

One from his youth and another from a 1970 Ovenca Venezuelan set . The back of this card I have roughly translated. https://www.tcdb.com/ViewCard.cfm/si...-Julian-Ladera (Fastball pitcher noted for the straightness of his pitches. He was a regular pitcher in professional tournaments, playing with Cerveceria Caracas, Magallanes and Vargas. ) |

Steve Broege
I have been searching for an early 70's Cardinals farmhand Steve Broege a lefthander from Iona University. He is Stephen Broege on Baseball Mogul Diamond. Broege was 25-15 in four seasons for the Redbirds farm teams reaching AAA in '72 before arm trouble shut down his playing career in 1974. I found his Iona Gaels Hall of Fame site but alas no photo.
Any help would be appreciated and if anyone has an obscure player of interest I would love to join in the research. Thank you to all in advance. https://www.baseball-reference.com/r...d=broege001ste https://ionagaels.com/honors/arrigon...teve-broege/41 |
