June 2315
---------------------------------------------------------- Nuka News Update Reporting on the NWL and APL by Evan Guy 1 June 2315 Another season is underway for the NWL. Despite the rumors surrounding business deals with the CBO, business is as usual as we watch Orange's Fizztop Mountain Park at Nuka-Town USA outfield seating expanding as news of a new theme park emerges. Whatever may happen, the 17th season of the NWL is here. This year's divisions look to be unbalanced with the South Bradberton Division holding all three winning teams: Orange, Quartz, and Cherry. Victory and Grape are tied at 12-13 atop the North Bradberton Division. Wild has the NWL's worst record at 8-16. The Tourists are the only team to feature right now. With the best record at 18-6, they have looked to be the team to beat so far. Orange is 1st in runs scored (147) and tied for 1st in runs allowed (94). 1B Doman Northsea (.371/8/31) leads the team in all three Triple Crown categories. Pitching is decently good, but 5th starter Matt Duty (3-0, 1.89) has seen the most success so far. Doman Northsea, the Orange first baseman, certainly made a name for himself this past month. He banged out a .371 batting average with 36 hits, 8 home runs, 31 RBIs and scored 24 times. That kind of hitting earned him the Nuka World League Batter of the Month honors for May. The Nuka World League made it official today -- Shady Sand of the Quartz Star Force is the Pitcher of the Month. In May he impressed the sportswriters with his domination of league hitters. Sand made 6 starts, registered 4 wins and 1 loss with a solid 2.38 ERA. In 45.1 innings he allowed 47 hits, racked up 29 strikeouts, walked 7 and permitted teams to hit .272 against him. The best rookie has been named for May -- and the winner is Ulfberth Warbear. The Nuka World League presented the trophy to him today in a press conference. It was a sparkling 1-0 record that brought the Cherry starter the Rookie of the Month award. Warbear stood out last month with a 1.50 ERA in 0 starts, tossed 18 innings, fanned 11 and held opposing batters to a .215 average. In the Amusement Park League, the Red Rocket Radrats lead the North, while the Galactic Zone G-Force and Nuka Plant Electrics are tied in the South. Speedracer Ortego has a lot going for him. The Red Rocket left fielder just broke into the majors this year and now the Amusement Park League has just picked him as its top hitter for May. In 15 games last month this outstanding rookie batted .362 with 8 home runs, 17 RBIs and 13 runs scored. No doubt about it! Red Rocket starter Ante Carmichael earned his Amusement Park League Pitcher of the Month award. He made that very clear as he mowed his way through league hitters in May. During the month Carmichael chalked up a 3-0 record with a 2.02 ERA. The Radrats star made 4 starts and surrendered 24 hits in 26.2 innings. He struck out 20 and walked 5. ---------------------------------------------------------- Vim! View News of the Vim! League and Its Affiliates by Jimmy Gresham 1 June 2315, Day 1 for Jimmy Vim! League Report Hi, baseball fans from the Island. This is your ole pal Jimmy Gresham all grown up! I am now the new reporter for the Vim! View, and I am excited to share with you my passion for baseball on the island. This season, the eight teams all look strong, but the current kings of the hill are the Dalton Farm Fog Crawlers and the Far Harbor Ghoul Whales. The Ghoul Whales used to always be just the Gwhales, but we stopped calling them that here. Well, I'm bringing it back! At 17-8, the Fog Crawlers have been just amazing. Their superpower is their pitching where they are 1st in runs (89), Starters ERA (3.76), and Bullpen ERA (2.27). Of their five starters, Raymond Maarloeve has been the best at 4-0, 1.93. The ace, Phil Cecil is 4-2 with a 3.12 ERA. For the Gwhales, they are also good at pitching, though not as good as the Crawlers. I also call them the Crawlahs because that's how everyone says their name here. OK, Far Harbor. Two pitchers are undefeated at 3-0: Kap Kooke (3.14) and Franklin William Kidd (2.72). Now for the top players this month. We have three for hitting, pitching, and the top rookie. Billy Yudkowsky battered Vim! League pitchers all May and wound up taking home the Batter of the Month Award. "I've been around Vim! League long enough to know you really have to work hard day in and day out to be able to put up this kind of consistency," the 29-year-old Yudkowsky told reporters. "I put in a lot of work, even on the days I might not take the field, and it's always nice when everything comes together for me like it did this last month." In 24 games, Yudkowsky hit .411 with 2 home runs, 15 RBIs and scored 26 runs. In May Dalton Farm starter, Raymond Maarloeve really put the strong arm on the other Vim! League teams and hauled in the Pitcher of the Month trophy. He did it with an impressive 4 wins and no losses. In 5 starts and 37.1 innings of work, Maarloeve limited opposing batters to 31 base hits and a .226 batting average. He fanned 24, issued 14 walks and had a 1.93 ERA. Raymond Maarloeve really burned up the Vim! League this past month. He went 4 and 0 in May and won the Rookie of the Month award. In 5 games started he struck out 24 in 37.1 innings with a 1.93 ERA. MDIL Report The MDIL is currently getting dominated by the Cliff's Edge Actors at 13-2 with a 13-game winning streak. Do you know why they are the Actors? That's because a bunch of robobrains with the brains of ex-Hollywood stars live at the Cliff's Edge Hotel and have made a comeback in radio theater. They're probably on the radio because they don't look so hot anymore. Gilda Briscoe was a real looker, too! In the other division, the Old Longfellow Division, the Ms Azalea Shipwrecks and Kitteredge Rad Rabbits are both tied at 9-6. The Shipwrecks won five straight. The top players this month are Zone Hubbard and Malchemical Scientistman. Kitteredge Rad Rabbits fans may just have witnessed a star player blossoming before their eyes in May. Zone Hubbard put up a remarkable month at the age of 24 and has been named the Mount Desert Island League Batter of the Month. For the month, Hubbard hit .407 with 3 home runs, 14 RBIs and 16 runs scored. The #1 pitcher in the Mount Desert Island League this month was Cliff's Edge Actors reliever Malchemical Scientistman. He won the league's Best Pitcher Award for May by saving 6 games in 6 save opportunities. Over the period Scientistman also had 2 wins and no losses. The Actors relief ace had 6 strikeouts and 1 walk in 8 innings, surrendered 4 base hits and registered a 1.12 ERA.

BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, CCBL, CYL, and CBA by Nat Wright-Kawolski 4 June 2315 College Series Ends in Exciting 5-Game Series, Curry College on Top The Curry College Colonels pulled out all the stops tonight, winning the College Series in a hard-fought series with the Cape Cod University Sharks. It was a seesaw affair, but with a 10-4 victory at The Shark Tank, Curry College lay claim to the franchise's 1st championship. "There's no denying we faced a tough opponent," said Series MVP Monro Wallace. "But as the old saying goes, 'when the going gets tough, the tough get going,' and that's what we did today." The champs finished the regular season 38-22 and claimed third place in the MassCon.Cape Cod won the regular season conference title. A victory parade is set to be scheduled in Curry College in the days to come. Game 1: Curry College 8, Cape Cod 6 Road Win Lifts Curry College to 1-0 Lead in CS The Curry College Colonels started the College Series in style, winning on the road against the Cape Cod University Sharks at The Shark Tank by a score of 8-6 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Colonels right-hander Lukas Koretnaar threw 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball. Tied up with the Sharks in the top of the fourth inning, the Colonels got a boost from catcher Neutral Nat Kartodirdjo. With the bases loaded, Kartodirdjo saw a 2-1 sinker from Alastair Strefford and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Curry College on top, 3-2. "It wasn't our best performance," said Kartodirdjo, "but a win in the playoffs is nothing to sniff at." The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Shark Tank in Yarmouth. Game 2: Cape Cod 11, Curry College 1 Jeon, Sharks Wallop Colonels in Game 2 of CS Cape Cod University right fielder Jersey Jeon was the difference-maker for the Sharks in what turned into a shootout with the Curry College Colonels. Jeon earned accolades after going 4-for-6 in the 11-1 Sharks win. With the victory, the Sharks moved into a 1-1 tie in the best-of-5 series. Jeon had a consequential at-bat in the bottom of the third for the Sharks. Coming up with runners on 1st and 2nd and Cape Cod University trailing 1-0, he hit a 3-run home run. Cape Cod University manager Josh Washington commended his team for "putting the hammer down." Game 3 is scheduled for Monday at Rock Point Park in Plymouth. Game 3: Curry College 5. Cape Cod 2 Curry College Wins at Home to Take 2-1 Lead in CS The Curry College Colonels got a strong performance from pitcher Lukas Koretnaar, who stymied the visiting Cape Cod University Sharks en route to a win, 5-2, in Game 3 of the College Series. The Sharks could never get a bead on the right-handed Koretnaar, who threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball. The Colonels now hold a 2-1 in the best-of-5 series. Koretnaar allowed 2 runs over 7 innings. He also racked up 8 strikeouts. "Lukas gets tougher when he has to, makes a big pitch when he has to," said Curry College skipper Patrick Williams. The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Rock Point Park in Plymouth. Game 4: Cape Cod 6, Curry College 4 Cape Cod University Win Evens Series at 2 The Cape Cod University Sharks and the Curry College Colonels will take the College Series to a decisive 5th game. In a must-win situation, the Sharks beat the Colonels, 6-4, at Rock Point Park to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Cape Cod University left fielder Hallinan Looney went 4 for 4 with 4 singles and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Cape Cod University used a well-timed hit by Jose McPherson to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Sharks ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important. "We're happy," Looney told reporters after the win. "When you're in the playoffs, you've got to treat every game like it could be your last." The next game is set to be played for Thursday, June 3rd , 2315 at The Shark Tank in Yarmouth. Game 5: Curry College 10, Cape Cod 4 Big 7th Clinches Title for Curry College Trailing 4-3 heading into the 7th inning of the final game of the 2315 College Series, the Curry College Colonels needed a rally, and did they ever get one. The Colonels score 7 runs in the top of the 7th to take a 10-4 lead in a game that was 4-3 since the 1st. The final remained as the Colonels clinched their first College Series title. Series MVP 1B Monro Wallace only played shortly in the game due to a slight injury, but he still finished 1 for 1 with a run scored. In the series, he finished 7 for 18 (.389) with a double, two home runs, six runs, and four RBI. Curry College scored three runs in the top of the 1st for an early lead, but the Sharks' 3B Flagg Maniani answered in the bottom of the inning with a grand slam. In the 7th, the Colonels finally found their bats when needed. With Cape Cod's RP Dally Garrison on the mound, Kai Halliday and Little John Moore walked with one out. Tucker Patterson then singled to load the bases. Garrison then walked Willie Byrne to tie the score, 4-4. After Garrison walked in the go-ahead run, he was pulled for Karin Fasth. Fasth responded by walking the first batter he faced, followed by a two-RBI double by P.C. Ford for the 8-4 lead. With two outs, Heek Noramirian completed the scoring by driving in Neutral Nat Kartodirdjo and Ford on a two-RBI double. "We appreciate the Sharks giving us bases," Curry College manager Pumpy Williams said, "but I appreciate our batters stepping up when it counted. Other than that grand slam, I would say our pitching was perfect, too. Our guys earned this, and I am proud of them." Curry College was known as the Plymouth University Pioneers when they first entered the CCBL. However, a vault discovery on campus revealed paraphernalia and other markings of what the campus was called pre-War. They decided unanimously to return to their roots and change the team name to the Curry College Colonels. It seems to have paid off with a title. Cape Cod, which was making its postseason debut has to know that it let one get away. The third seed in the playoffs and the winners of the MassCon title was just seven outs away from the CCBL title.

Fun headline
I love this story with all the "Acadia":
Acadiaman Toys with Acadia in 1-0 Win The Acadia Acadians were no match for Michel Acadiaman of the Grand Hotel Atoms. Acadiaman totally shut down and shut out Acadia at Harbor Grand Hotel Grounds as Grand Hotel cruised to a 1-0 win. In the 9-inning effort, he gave up 4 hits, struck out 3, and walked 0. To date this season, Acadiaman has compiled a 4-2 record with a 3.54 ERA in 7 starts.

June 2315
BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, CCBL, and CYL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 14 June 2315 CBO Analysis We are right at the halfway point for the 2315 season with most teams having played 63 of the 130-game season. We are now starting to see teams make moves for their futures, well, at least in one case, when Fort Hagen traded away struggling SP Sarthis Idren (4-5, 4.61) for three prospects. Idren led the NCA with 18 wins just two seasons ago. As far now is concerned, the CBO has two 40-win teams: Salem (43) and University Point (41). Here are the current team power rankings for Commonwealth Baseball Organization: Teams (Total Points, Tendency): 1) Salem Witch Hats (123.9, o) 2) University Point Deathclaws (122.2, +) 3) Roxbury Rad Sox (112.7, ++) 4) Glowing Sea Radscorpions (111.1, ++) 5) Bunker Hill 75ers (107.5, -) 6) Atom Cats (106.7, -) 7) Lexington Synths (104.4, --) 8) Quincy Gunners (103.6, +) 9) Diamond City Swatters (101.2, ++) 10) Vault 81 Dwellers (98.2, +) 11) Spectacle Island Reapers (92.6, ++) 12) Malden Grognaks (90.4, --) 13) Concord Radstags (89.6, o) 14) The Slog Ghouls (87.6, +) 15) County Crossing Bloodbugs (85.9, ++) 16) Easy Town Assaultrons (85.4, --) 17) FHE Yao Guai (85.4, ++) 18) Oberland T-51s (84.6, ++) 19) Egret Ninjas (84.4, ++) 20) Jamaica Plain Red Rockets (83.8, --) 21) Nahant Celtics (81.8, --) 22) Southie Brews (80.9, -) 23) Cambridge Coursers (76.9, --) 24) Goodneighbor Hancocks (74.3, ++) 25) Sunshine Tidings Chemists (71.3, -) 26) Fort Hagen Silver Shroud (70.9, --) 27) Nordhagen Beach Party Boys (48.1, +) 28) Starlight Killers (45.9, -) Brotherhood League Salem has the largest league lead (11.5) by far, despite only going 5-5 in their last 10. There are only two other teams above .500, a 2nd-place tie between Malden and Easy Town, at 32-31. The Slog is one game back of them, followed by Nahant, County Crossing, and Nordhagen Beach. The Bugs are currently on a four-game winning streak, but the playoffs look to be a vault dream currently. One of the big problems is that hitting has fallen off, with County Crossing 13th in runs scored (272) with their only good category being 2nd in stolen bases (73), mostly due to leadoff hitter Thrifty Iraheta (.303/3/11/33 SB). While Babs Rooth (.280/5/38) was this week's NCA Player of the Week, the 36-year-old is starting to show his age. Plain Morris (.237/14/45) leads the team in home runs and RBI. On the mound, the Bloodbugs are 9th in runs allowed (315) with the starters not being great compared to the rest of the association. Ace Shaak Ti (4-4, 3.23) has the best stats. CL Jupiter Jones (16 SV, 3.62) has been decent. Institute League Lexington would be the third team with 40+ wins, but the Synths are on a five-game losing streak, opening the door for Bunker Hill to compete for the IL crown. At 1.5 back and a 6-4 record in their last 10, the 75ers are way ahead of 3rd-place Concord. Fort Hagen and Cambridge are tied for 4th, followed by Sunshine Tidings and Starlight, whose eight-game losing streak puts them barely ahead of the Party Boys for the CBO's worst record. Bunker Hill is starting to look strong, and the rest of the NCA should be worried. The 75ers are the top scoring team (340 runs) and 1st in several offensive categories, including home runs (87). Four players have double-digits homers: RF Kasumi Goto (.311/16/41), SS Aaron Squire (.317/14/37), LF Bumpy Redfern (.268/10.38), and 1B Zod Gaycey (.321/10/35). While note as good on the mound, the 75ers are 6th in runs allowed (307), led by ace Hangman Alley (6-2, 3.44). However, the starters are 11th in ERA (4.78), while the Bullpen ERA is 3rd (3.84). Part of that actions is because of veterans Jim Livermore (4-1, 3.00) and Max Thunderdome (2-1, 3.00). Minutemen League The ML is turning into a solid league, though only three teams are above .500. At the top are the Deathclaws, currently four games up on the league and association. Atom and Quincy are the other two teams above .500, followed by Spectacle Island, Jamaica Plain. Southie, and Goodneighbor. The Claws are back, and boy, are they ferocious. After missing the playoffs the past two seasons, following a streak of 12 out of 13 seasons and two Sole Survivor Series wins, few doubt that University Point is the best team in the SCA in 2315. Statistically, they are not even as dominant, including being 4th in runs scored (328) and 2nd in runs allowed (266). 1B Barker Cocoa (.339/17/45) continues what Commsioner Nate Howard has called a "Hall of Fame career." The entire lineup is hitting at least .250 with veteran 3B Donn Mattingley (.250/6/30) representing probably the best 8th hitter in the CBO. On the mound, the top two starters--Digger Vadim (9-3, 2.85) and Alex Alexson (9-2, 4.37)--each have nine wins. CL Swampy Tamragouri (21 SV, 3.68) leads the CBO in saves. Railroad League In what is the most competitive top-to-bottom and top half league in the CBO, the RL sports four teams currently over .500 and the top last-place team at 28-34. With an 8-2 run in their last 10, Roxbury remains on top, holding off Glowing Sea, which is also 8-2 in their last 10, including a five-game winning streak. Vault 81 and Diamond City are tied for third at just three games back, followed by Oberland, FHE, and Egret. If there is any team more disappointed than the Yao Guai in their 2315 performance versus expectations, that team may only be the defending champions, The Slog. FHE is 13th in runs scored (283), the most direct reflection of their failures. RF Cameron Triggs (.335/5/30) is the best hitter, with 2B Slip Knotty (.225/9/28) and CF Missile Crews (.302/9/38) leading the team in homers. The pitchers are not as bad, allowing the 7th fewest runs (296), thanks mostly to the best bullpen (3.13). The Starters ERA is 10th (4.74). Ace SP Baker Dozen (7-5, 3.78) is doing OK, but 2nd starter, Nien Nunb (2-11, 5.23), has really struggled. CL Ryan Roberson (10 SV, 2.96) has been decent with great support from veteran Lawdog Whipple (2-0, 1.10). CBO Standings CBO Players of the Week June 7 - It's always a thrill for fans of the team and students of the game alike when a superstar in the making shows what he's got. Togie Pitt, the Cambridge Coursers 24-year-old second baseman, put himself in the spotlight last week making him the clear-cut choice for North Charles Association Player of the Week honors. He ripped 12 hits in 21 at-bats, compiling a .571 average with 1 home run and 3 RBIs. Currently Pitt has 3 home runs and a .227 batting average. One of the league's most exciting young players, Naga Arakaki of the Glowing Sea Radscorpions earned himself South Charles Association Player of the Week honors with a standout performance in last week's games. For the week the 22-year-old right fielder had a lofty .462 average (12-for-26), collecting 2 home runs, 8 RBIs and 7 runs scored. For the season, Arakaki is batting .330 with 69 hits and 7 home runs. He has scored 39 times and batted in 38. June 14 - A battle-tested Babs Rooth declared war on opposing pitchers last week, attacking the ball like the well-schooled veteran he is. Today the 36-year-old County Crossing right fielder collected the North Charles Association Player of the Week Award. He wrapped up the week with a .524 average, 11 hits in 21 at-bats, 2 home runs, 4 RBIs and 9 runs scored. Currently Rooth is batting .280 with 5 home runs, 38 RBIs and 30 runs scored. Dexion Evicus has the tools to stick in this league for many years. The 23-year-old first baseman of the Oberland T-51s had a hot bat in the South Charles Association over the past seven days and won the Player of the Week honors. Evicus batted .560 with 14 hits in 25 at-bats, 2 home runs and 11 RBIs. Evicus is batting .306 this season in 61 games with 10 home runs, 38 RBIs and 37 runs scored. He has 68 hits in 222 at-bats. CBO Noteworthy News June 6 - It was a special day at Drumlin Diner Park for Jamaica Plain's Tristan Marble. The Red Rockets ace logged his 150th career win against the Reapers. In the 6-5 decision Marble tossed 5.1 innings, surrendered 5 hits with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts. "I'm real fortunate that I had the opportunity to play with such good players during my career," said Marble. "I just couldn't have drawn it up any better. I'm glad I did it in this uniform, too. Jamaica Plain is a great organization to play for." Marble's career stats shape up like this: In 2739.2 innings, he has struck out 1545, walked 793 and saved 0 games while compiling a 150-168 record and a 4.16 ERA. June 6 - Today was a day! In an unprecedented day that saw five extra-inning games, we also saw some records set or tied. Let's start, though, with the fact that a 19-inning game, a 6-5 victory by Jamaica Plain over Spectacle Island, was not even close to the longest game of the day. That distinction went to Malden's 4-2 victory over The Slog in the CBO record-setting performance of a 27-inning game that took 9 hours and three minutes! After the Ghouls tieds the game, 2-2, in the top of the 8th, neither team scored again until 1B Andy Stamey's two-run home run ended it at 4:08 AM on Monday, June 7. Records included at-bats (Malden's Jacob Tarberry-12) with four other players finishing with 11, all of which would have been the North Charles Association record; and batting strikeouts (The Slog's President Washington-6) tying Pop Murphy's record from 2306. June 10 - In a move that has fans in both cities buzzing, the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud and the Oberland T-51s have agreed to a deal that will have 25-year old LHP Sarthis Idren heading to Oberland in exchange for 18-year old minor league C Samandriel Johnston, 20-year old minor league 3B Dizzy Bass, and 20-year old minor league RF Bull Lozano. Provided they pass a physical, the players should be with their respective teams in time for tomorrow's games. This year, Idren has a 4-5 record with a 4.61 ERA. BMU All-Star Game Wilde Game said the annual all-star game is mostly for the fans to enjoy, but the players have a lot of fun too. "It's a great time to get that much talent on one ball diamond," he said. "You feel fortunate to even be part of it." Game wasn't just a part of the game, he was named the game MVP, as his Massachusetts Association All-Stars won 11-2 over the Commonwealth Association All-Stars. Game went 2 for 2 in the game to earn the nod as the game's best. In 440 career games, Game has put up a .330 average, collected 97 doubles, 9 triples, and 137 home runs, driven in 373 runs, and scored 349 times. Half of the season has been played and now it's time for the All-Star game! His teammates and manager said he had a poised demeanor about him that was typical of someone much older and more experienced. His poise has paid off, as the 16-year-old turned in a sparkling season and has been named the winner of the South Region Shutdown Specialist Award for 2315. The Boston, Massachusetts native won the award with 6 saves in 17 relief appearances, 22 strikeouts in 18 innings and a record of 3-0 to go with his 1.00 ERA. He received 105 first place votes out of a possible 116. Slaw Swampfox of the Brockton Claws finished second in voting with 7 first place votes, while T.I. June 2315
BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, CCBL, and CYL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 28 June 2315 CBO Analysis Now that we are in the second half of the season, we can see which teams are the haves and have not as we enter the trade month. While there have been multiple deals throughout the CBO, there have been few big deals as far as current CBO pl;ayers are concerned. We have one update in the Noteworthy News. Otherwise, we expect some teams to offload veterans and try to pick up some players that can reshape the team in the future. But first, let's break down the power rankings and league statuses. Here are the current team power rankings for Commonwealth Baseball Organization: Teams (Total Points, Tendency): 1) Salem Witch Hats (123.1, +) 2) Vault 81 Dwellers (117.6, +) 3) University Point Deathclaws (117.1, -) 4) Atom Cats (107.2, +) 5) Lexington Synths (104.6, -) 6) Bunker Hill 75ers (102.9, -) 7) Oberland T-51s (102.0, o) 8) Cambridge Coursers (102.0, ++) 9) Glowing Sea Radscorpions (96.0, +) 10) Diamond City Swatters (93.7, -) 11) Quincy Gunners (93.7, o) 12) Egret Ninjas (92.7, +) 13) Easy Town Assaultrons (91.3, -) 14) The Slog Ghouls (88.7, ++) 15) Malden Grognaks (87.0, +) 16) Fort Hagen Silver Shroud (87.0, ++) 17) Goodneighbor Hancocks (83.5, -) 18) Southie Brews (82.0, -) 19) County Crossing Bloodbugs (81.5, --) 20) FHE Yao Guai (81.5, ++) 21) Jamaica Plain Red Rockets (79.5, ++) 22) Concord Radstags (79.3, o) 23) Sunshine Tidings Chemists (78.2, --) 24) Spectacle Island Reapers (75.0, -) 25) Roxbury Rad Sox (74.7, --) 26) Nahant Celtics (67.8, --) 27) Nordhagen Beach Party Boys (66.9, o) 28) Starlight Killers (63.9, o) Brotherhood League At 50-25, Salem not only has the CBO's best record, but they also have the most commanding lead with 55 games left to play in their 2315 season with an 11.5-game lead. Easy Town is the only other team above .500 with a 39-37 record, followed by Malden, The Slog, County Crossing, Nahant, and Nordhagen Beach. The Grognaks have yet to make a playoff appearance in their five-year history, but Year Six may be the one, mostly because they are average in an below-average association. At 38-38, Malden really just needs to maintain their current progress. One place they may want to look to improve is hitting, where the Grognaks are 13th in runs scored (331) being among the worst teams for leaving runners on base. 2B Jack of Diamonds Cordero (.340/8/38) leads the team in average and RBI, but he is only on pace to finish with 65 RBI for the season. For reference, Salem's Seemly Sam Yucker currently leads the NCA with 65, and Roxbury's Joey Bell leads the CBO with 66. 1B Lance Tinter (.295/12/35), On the mound, the Grognaks are 7th in runs allowed but need improvement in the starting rotation where they are 11th in ERA (4.94). Ace Edgar Drezek (7-6, 3.01) has been the best starter by far. CL Rump Pellstilt (18 SV, 4.62) could be much better. Institute League Lexington and Bunker Hill look to be in a battle for the IL crown with the Synths just two games up. With a six-game winning streak, Cambridge is now in 3rd place at 38-38, followed by Concord, Fort Hagen, Sunshine Tidings, and Starlight, which is tied for the CBO's worst record with the Party Boys. The Synths were up-and-coming last season when they surprisingly won the IL, but they are in it to win it in 2315. Lexington is only 4th in runs scored (380) but has the capacity to up those numbers, especially as the top-hitting team (.290). The 2-4 hitters are brutal: CF Packs Ton Kling (.266/18/40), RF Hurr Lee Reyes (.356/17/50), and 3B Tommy Whitetiger (.333/15/57). Pitching is also championship caliber, currently 2nd in runs allowed (319) and 3rd in both Starters ERA (3.96) and Bullpen ERA (4.01). While Deedee Martinson (5-6, 4.05) may not be the answer, he is still efficient in his first year with the Synths. SP Lyle Pine (10-4, 3.21) has been the best starter. In the bullpen, CL Hunter Kim (11 SV, 1.69) is in contention for the Fallon's Reliever Award. Minutemen League University Point has pulled away a little, but Atom is now on a three-game winning streak to place them just five back. Quincy at 40-36 is the only other team above .500. All of Spectacle Island, Southie, Jamaica Plain, and Goodneighbor are bunched together with one game separating them in the 4th-7th positions. The Reapers had a short playoff run from 2306-2308 but have not been back in the past six years, while this season looks to be a seventh-straight. Offense is not the current problem, 4th in runs scored (395). Six players have at least 10 home runs for the SCA's top power team (105). Those six are LF True Tee Warrior (.305/22/57), 1B Griffin Herring (.281/15/57), 3B Donovan Mackey (.353/14/50), SS Nippy Ben Nippolt (.260/12/32), RF Mia Thunder (.331/10/43), and 2B Timon Blades (.231/10/20). Pitching has not been up to a playoff run, including being last in runs allowed (410) and Bullpen ERA (5.47). The top two starters--Aqua Purified (10-5, 5.06) and Jalep Temper (5-6, 4.50)--are talented but not getting the outs needed. Purified has had a lot of run support but requires that run support to win games. CL Mean David Green (9 SV, 4.83) has been Spectacle Island's best reliever. Railroad League With a 9-1 run in their last 10, Vault 81 has now taken control in the RL, while the team they were battling with, Roxbury, is now on a 10-game losing streak, dropping them to a 4th-place tie and five back of the Dwellers. Oberland and Glowing Sea are tied for 2nd place, while Egret and FHE take up the rear. While it did not look like 2315 would be their season, the Dwellers are now in a position to again be in the championship discussion. While they started out slowly, Vault 81 has now recovered in record and statistics, including being 2nd in runs scored (414) and 4th in runs allowed (327). On offense, LF Stu Gains (.331/18/52) and 1B Pockets Wrench (.328/18/53) have been the leaders of a good 1-8 lineup. On the mound, ace Zack Million (8-6, 3.18) continues to do his job, while Scruffy Taguchi (7-5, 5.45) and Exxie Summerset (8-5, 4.45) have recovered from poor starts. In the bullpen, CL Dynamite Delaney (14 SV, 2.40) has been effective. CBO Standings CBO Players of the Week June 21 - When it came to hitting the baseball, Eden Babz had few peers in the North Charles Association this past week. The talented center fielder for Easy Town tagged opposing pitchers for a .519 average and was voted the Player of the Week Award. Included in his stats were 14 hits in 27 at-bats, 3 homers, 4 runs scored and 8 RBIs. For the season, Babz is hitting at a .346 clip with 11 home runs, 46 RBIs and has scored 48 runs. He has 89 hits, 25 walks and a .401 on-base percentage. Vault 81 sports fans can't stop singing the praises of Stu Gains, who has been selected the South Charles Association Player of the Week. Gains was in a comfort zone all week, finishing with a .545 average (12-for-22), 9 RBIs and 4 home runs. For the year, Gains is batting .329 with 17 home runs. June 28 - It was an extraordinary week for Brian DeLong of the Salem Witch Hats. First he goes on a hot hitting streak, batting .478, then he is voted the Player of the Week in the North Charles Association. Last week DeLong went 11-for-23, racked up 4 home runs and 9 RBIs and scored 11 runs. It was a heck of a week for the Salem first baseman. This season, DeLong has delivered 84 hits in 246 at-bats for a .341 average with 13 home runs. He is getting on base at a .491 clip and his totals also include 51 RBIs and 59 runs scored. This year DeLong has played in 74 games. Prince Tripp demonstrated his potential to be a star in the game last week and today he took home the South Charles Association Player of the Week Award. The Quincy center fielder wreaked havoc on opposing pitchers last week, pounding them for a .727 average (16-for-22) with no home runs and 5 RBIs on his way to claiming the honor. So far this year, Tripp is batting .336 with 2 home runs, 31 RBIs and 26 runs scored. CBO Noteworthy News June 17 - With the mid-season mark upon us, now is a great time to update the pre-season BNN Top 100 Prospect list with what we have learned to this point. This year, 18 year-old SS Joe Bureau of the Egret Ninjas is the #1 prospect overall. Here is the top 10: 1) SS Joe Bureau, 18, Egret Ninjas 2) C Flurry Sullivan, 20, FHE Yao Guai 3) LHP Rev Atkins, 22, Sunshine Tidings Chemists 4) RHP Petie Pembroke, 19, Nordhagen Beach Party Boys 5) 1B Fuzz Copman, 18, Sunshine Tidings Chemists 6) SS Bitty Shorthop, 22, Roxbury Rad Sox 7) RHP Ripper Kawolski, 19, Atom Cats 8) 3B Ivan Abeyta, 20, Sunshine Tidings Chemists 9) RF Jimmie Dimmick, 19, Southie Brews 10) 2B Size Man Green, 18, Jamaica Plain Red Rockets June 21 - In a move that has fans in both cities buzzing, the Southie Brews and the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud have agreed to a deal that will have 22-year old 1B Oneday Golunski heading to Fort Hagen in exchange for 26-year old SS Brennan Colt-45 and 23-year old minor league SS Philip Eilhart. Provided they pass a physical, the players should be with their respective teams in time for tomorrow's games. This season in 28 games, Golunski has hit at a .111 clip with 3 hits, no home runs, 1 RBIs and 2 runs scored. This season, Colt-45 is batting .274 with 32 RBIs, 17 runs scored and 3 home runs. June 22 - University Point starting pitcher Tony Bertha won't be back next year. The 38-year-old announced plans today to retire at the end of the 2315 campaign, saying that it was time to call it a career. "I could probably play another year," Bertha said, "but I don't have that fire you need to play well. And I'm not going out there on those terms. It's a disservice to the Deathclaws and baseball in general. There are just too many aches and pains in this old body for me to continue playing." Bertha has compiled a lifetime ERA of 3.55 with 209 career victories and 124 defeats. He has 1999 career strikeouts in 3102.2 innings and has held opponents to a .257 batting average. NEBL All-Star Game Medford Park was the place to be for baseball fans tonight, as the best NEBL players gathered for the annual all-star game. On the field, the Yankee League downed the Patriot League by a score of 5-1. Off the field, game MVP Keg Gutterson said he thinks everyone had a good night. "You looked into the stands and it seemed like everyone was having a fantastic time," said the 27-year-old, who went 3-for-3 in the game. "A game like this is good for the sport." During his career, Gutterson has notched 211 hits and a .330 average with 34 home runs and 105 RBIs. The All-Star Classic is here again! It's the 2315 New England Baseball League All-Star Game! At the age of 18, many players are still trying to find their way in Commonwealth Collegiate Baseball League. Cureall has not only found his way, he's already established himself as one of the game's brightest stars, today being named the winner of the Commonwealth Collegiate Baseball League Top Collegiate Hitter Award. "I didn't expect to hit .449 this year, that's for sure," the center fielder said. The Winthrop College Guardians star also put up a .528 on-base percentage this year, with 93 hits, 19 doubles, 6 triples, 14 home runs, 39 RBIs and 62 runs scored. He received 54 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Lenny Poertner of the Northeastern Huskies finished second in voting, while Niven O'Donnell of the Sacred Heart Pioneers finished third. It's Casan Evans, this year's Commonwealth Collegiate Baseball League Top Collegiate Pitcher Award selection. This blossoming hurler wowed fans, peers and sportswriters with a fabulous performance. Evans compiled a 9-4 record in 15 starts, tallied 94 strikeouts in 111 innings and recorded a 1.95 ERA. Other clubs managed only a .259 batting average against him. He received 44 first place votes out of a possible 54. But he certainly seems to be a quick study, as the Curry College Colonels reliever was better than all others this year and has captured the 2315 Commonwealth Collegiate Baseball League Top Collegiate Reliever Award. "I hope to win this a few more times before all is said and done in my career," the Quincy, Massachusetts native said. For the season, Blacke had 1 save in 22 relief appearances, which totaled 23. He fanned 18 betters, while walking 10 and put up a record of 4-0 to go with his 1.17 ERA. He received 33 first place votes out of a possible 54. July 2315
BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, CCBL, CYL, and CBA by Nat Wright-Kawolski 1 July 2315 The July 1 Super Post CBO Top Performances With a game score of 106 on June 13, University Point's Pop Dylan earned the June Top Performance. His score ties Mickey Halifax's effort in April as the third-best performance of the season. In a 17-3 thrashing of a potential Sole Survivor Series matchup over Lexington, Dylan was 4 for 5 with a walk, two home runs, three runs, and six RBI. Odd Todd Walker's 135 score still remains as the top score of the season. He did not quite reach the top performance of the season, but Malden's Edgar Drezek came close in his June 1 shutout of County Crossing. Amazingly, he did not get the win, either. Drezek pitched a nine-inning one-hitter with two walks and seven strikeouts in the Grognaks' 1-0 win in 10 innings for a 90 score, tying him with three others for the third-best score of the season. The 92 score by Nervous Patron and Scruffy Taguchi are still the top scores of the 2315 season. CBO Players of the Month NCA Hitter - Brian DeLong battered North Charles Association pitchers all June and wound up taking home the Batter of the Month Award. "I've been around Commonwealth Baseball Organization long enough to know you really have to work hard day in and day out to be able to put up this kind of consistency," the 30-year-old DeLong told reporters. "I put in a lot of work, even on the days I might not take the field, and it's always nice when everything comes together for me like it did this last month." In 27 games, DeLong hit .370 with 7 home runs, 26 RBIs and scored 24 runs. DeLong is hitting .340 this year with 13 home runs, 52 RBIs and 59 runs scored. He has 88 hits in 259 at-bats, 68 walks and a .485 on-base percentage. DeLong has played in 77 games. SCA Hitter - Naga Arakaki, the Glowing Sea right fielder, certainly made a name for himself this past month. He banged out a .394 batting average with 37 hits, 8 home runs, 27 RBIs and scored 20 times. That kind of hitting earned him the South Charles Association Batter of the Month honors for June. This year, Arakaki is hitting at a .344 pace with 13 home runs and 59 RBIs. He has played in 74 games and scored 53 times. NCA Pitcher - Freon McMahan of Cambridge had a tremendous June with a 5-1 mark and was chosen the Pitcher of the Month in the North Charles Association. McMahan restricted opposing hitters to 45 base hits and a .238 batting average. He rang up 48 strikeouts in 50.2 innings of work, surrendered 24 walks, and crafted a 2.84 ERA. In 12 starts this season, McMahan has crafted a 10-1 record with a 3.60 ERA. SCA Pitcher - Capping off a whirlwind month in which he went 6-1 with a 1.40 ERA, Tony Bertha was selected as June's South Charles Association Pitcher of the Month today. Reporters caught up with the elated University Point starter as he left the clubhouse. "I know it's difficult for pitchers -- when you have a bad start or two, people start wondering if you've lost it. Then you ride stretches like this one for all you can. You find it easier to come to the park every day because know you're contributing to the club, not just waiting for your turn in the rotation to make up for your last start." Tony Bertha definitely contributed to the club. He had 7 starts, throwing 57.2 innings, striking out 39, and holding the opposition to a .162 average. Checking out his stats for the season, Bertha has notched 10 wins and 4 losses in 20 starts. His ERA is 3.34 and he's struck out 93 batters in 143 innings. NCA Rookie - Rump Pellstilt, the Malden starter, is the latest North Charles Association Rookie of the Month award winner. League officials made that announcement today. In June he started 0 games with a 3-2 record, a 2.93 ERA, and 25 strikeouts in 15.1 innings. To this point in the year Pellstilt has put up a 4-6 won-lost mark, made 37 relief appearances and rung up 18 saves. He has a 5.13 ERA and has allowed 37 hits over his 40.1 innings of work, struck out 58 batters and walked 18. SCA Rookie - Gabe Clark was toddling around on his tricycle when some of the guys he's playing against were in their prime, but the 22-year-old second baseman definitely knows how to get to first, second or beyond. Today he was chosen June's South Charles Association Rookie of the Month for his remarkable month of hitting. In 26 games Clark batted .359 for Egret, slapping 28 hits in 78 at-bats with 6 home runs, drove in 19 runs and scored 16 times. This year, Clark is batting .295 with 7 home runs and 29 RBIs. In 64 games he has scored 28 times. NEBL Analysis The NEBL's All-Star matchups have now come and gone, so the last half of the 2315 seasons is upon us. Three of the four divisions have a leader with the YL's Mass Division currently locked up between the Braintree Robobrains and Sandwich Bay Snakes. Leaders are the Manchester Granites (PL Maine), Abernathy Adamantium (PL Vershire), and Worcester Cannons (YL Connri). NEBL Players of the Month PL Hitter - When Pie Trainer stepped up to the plate in June he did it with confidence, and today he was honored with the Patriot League Batter of the Month award. The young Manchester left fielder posted a .412 batting average with 5 home runs, 17 RBIs and scored 21 runs. Trainer also worked pitchers for 11 walks to post a .485 on-base percentage. So far this season, Trainer is batting .356 with 7 home runs. YL Hitter - In June, Wellesley Wanderers third baseman Keg Gutterson claimed the Yankee League Batter of the Month award. The 27-year-old swung with confidence, hitting .373 with 6 home runs, 20 RBIs and 11 runs scored. Currently Gutterson is batting .362 with 87 hits and 10 home runs. He has knocked in 47 runs and scored 36 times. PL Pitcher - June was a very good month for Jimmy Howe of the Medford Radguards. He held opposing hitters for a .224 average and took home the Patriot League Pitcher of the Month award. In 4 starts he claimed a 3-0 record as he put up a 1.12 ERA and struck out 18 in 32 innings. In 10 starts this season, Howe has compiled a 5-2 record and a 2.79 ERA. YL Pitcher - There's no doubt that Cannons starter Alex Mazique earned his Yankee League Pitcher of the Month award. He left absolutely no room for doubt as he mowed his way through the opposition in June. During the month Mazique was 4-1 with a 2.93 ERA. He made 6 starts, tossed 46 innings and had 20 strikeouts. In 11 starts this season, Mazique has picked up 7 wins while suffering 3 losses. He has pitched 78 innings, allowed 74 hits, struck out 40 and posted a 3.12 ERA. MML Analysis Following the same season schedule as the NEBL, the MML also just completed the All-Star Break and is now 70 games into the season. Leaders are the Covenant Refractors (LL Boggs), Bedford Super Mutants (LL Murtagh), Castle Strength (SL Williams), and Mayoral Shelter Tricentennials (SL Yastrzemski). MML Players of the Month LL Hitter - At only 20 years of age, Robbie McHaney could very well have many more months like this last one during his career. That would be great news for fans of the Lawrence Revolution, as June was one to remember for the second baseman and he has captured the Legends League Batter of the Month award. On the month he hit .366 with 5 home runs, 12 RBIs and 16 runs scored. This year, McHaney has collected a .330 batting average to date with 59 hits in 179 at-bats, 18 RBIs, 5 home runs and scored 24 times. He has played in 44 games. SL Hitter - It's perhaps an award he'll win many more times through his career, as at age 24 Malik Keil has a lot of baseball ahead of him. But for now the young Dedham Bombers star can enjoy the numbers he put up in June, which have garnered him the nod as the Stars League Batter of the Month. His breakout month featured a .333 average with 5 home runs, 24 RBIs and 19 runs scored. So far this year, Keil is hitting .347 with 8 home runs. LL Pitcher - Gobbler Core really put his best foot forward in June with 5 wins and no losses and walked off with the Pitcher of the Month honors in the Legends League. When he got the start for the Sanctuary Hills Zetans, it was good news for his club, but bad news for the opposition. In 30.2 innings of work, Core limited opposing batters to 23 base hits and a .213 batting average. He notched 28 strikeouts, issued 19 walks and had a 1.76 ERA. For the season, Core has logged 7 wins and 1 loss and struck out 51 batters in 58 innings while compiling a 3.26 ERA. SL Pitcher - Jobe Christie of Castle excelled on the mound in June with a 4-0 record and was named the Pitcher of the Month in the Stars League. Christie restricted opposing batters to 26 base hits and a .222 batting average. He rang up 20 strikeouts in 32.2 innings of work, surrendered 11 walks, and fashioned a 2.20 ERA. To date this season, Christie has compiled a 8-1 record with a 2.43 ERA in 15 starts. BMU Analysis Only one division is really close as the BMU enters its final three-week stretch to the 2315 season. With 20 games to play, no team has yet to clinch, and only two teams are eliminated, but all teams' Magic # is in the teens. Leaders are the Parsons Asylum Greasers (CA Dark Hollow Pond, 7 games up), Union Hope Lifegivers (CA Cambridge, 4 games up), Pleasant Lake Patriots (MA Downtown Boston, 5 games up), and Westing Estate Alphas (MA Glowing Sea, 2 games up). BMU Players of the Month CA Hitter - Black Helmet Fruegaarten made his presence known as one of the best young stars in the Commonwealth Association this past month. The Kingsport Moon Monkeys second baseman shined through the month of June and has won the Batter of the Month award. The 18-year-old hit .411 with 4 home runs, 17 RBIs and 21 runs scored. To date Fruegaarten has chalked up a .360 average with 6 home runs, driven in 30 runs and scored 36 times. MA Hitter - No Name Nunez put together a good June to earn the Massachusetts Association Batter of the Month prize. A virtual unknown, he made the most of his chance to prove to DB Tech officials that he belongs on the big league roster. The Nuclear Physicists second baseman posted a .392 batting average with 5 home runs, 25 RBIs and 19 runs scored. Looking at his stats this year, Nunez has compiled a .332 batting average, while hitting 6 home runs and driving in 33 runs. He has played in 49 games and scored 37 runs. CA Pitcher - In June, the elite pitcher in the Commonwealth Association was Ash Downing, thanks to some great numbers coming out of the bullpen. The Med-Tek relief specialist posted a 3-0 mark and an ERA of 0.73 in 12.1 innings with 11 strikeouts and 4 saves in 4 save opportunities. Thus far this year, Downing has picked up 5 saves. He has also compiled a 3-0 won-lost mark with a 0.67 ERA and in 13.1 innings fanned 11. MA Pitcher - In June, when the name of Brandon Gissendaner appeared on the Mass Pike lineup card it was a virtual lock on a victory. He started 6 times and chalked up 4 wins and 1 loss. With those stats it was also a virtual lock that he would be named the Massachusetts Association Pitcher of the Month. Gissendaner shackled opposing batters on 44 base hits and a .299 batting average. He rang up 27 strikeouts in 35.1 innings of work, surrendered 13 walks and fashioned a sparkling 2.80 ERA. Over the season Gissendaner has thrown 107.2 innings and dished out 61 strikeouts with a 8-4 mark and a 3.09 ERA. GBRL Analysis Three of the four divisions in the GBRL have a leader with 20 games left on the 2315 schedule with the SL Southwest tied between the Danbury Gazelles and Norwalk Pickpockets. Divisional leaders are the Croup Manor Leprechauns (NL Northeast), Beantown Brewers (NL Northwest), and Pioneer Park Hackers (SL Southeast). GBRL Players of the Month NL Hitter - Wino Green has a lot going for him. The Portland second baseman just broke into the majors this year and now the North League has just picked him as its top hitter for June. In 23 games last month this outstanding rookie batted .377 with 11 home runs, 34 RBIs and 32 runs scored. Green is batting at a .324 pace this season, picking up 35 hits in 108 at-bats with 16 home runs, 51 RBIs and 44 runs scored. SL Hitter - Not known for his offensive prowess, Ned Yount set the league afire in June and took home the South League Batter of the Month award. The Murkwater right fielder posted a steady .417 batting average, 15 home runs, 39 RBIs and 36 runs. To date this season, Yount is hitting .325 with 26 home runs. NL Pitcher - The top-rated pitcher this past month in the North League was Korba Karel of the Brunswick Brainiacs. He really dominated league hitters, finishing June with a 5-0 won-lost mark and a 2.84 ERA. The Brainiacs ace made 7 starts and surrendered 41 hits in 50.2 innings. He struck out 65 and walked 19. This season, Karel has a 9-4 record with a 3.60 ERA. SL Pitcher - Garth Fitzgerald V hated to see June turn to July. And who could blame him? The 18-year-old hurler piled up 5 wins and no losses for the Hackers last month and won the South League Pitcher of the Month award for his efforts. Fitzgerald V stymied opposing batters on 40 base hits and a .253 batting average. He rang up 60 strikeouts in 40.1 innings of work, surrendered 13 walks and fashioned a sparkling 4.02 ERA. His record this season is 10-2 in 17 starts and Fitzgerald V has a 3.71 ERA.

We've got a lot of great races going! And then one, well, I think there's some magic going on
I still think Vault 81 is going to win it all. I think the league kept the win total down as right now the Railroad League looks like the strongest. Surprised to see the Rad Sox collapse but even with ten losses in a row they're still hanging on to a share of the last postseason spot |

For Vault 81, I don't know from my end. They looked to be the most powerful team for the past three seasons, and then, they just don't fully perform in the postseason. I have no idea which team to lock in on, except maybe Salem. Then again, PAM had the Dwellers as the top pick, so we shall see. For Roxbury, I don't know. During the streak, they were swept by Goodneighbor, Diamond City, Egret, and Vault 81. Those sweeps by the Hancocks and Ninjas have to hurt.

Season Pass Association
---------------------------------------------------------- Nuka News Update Reporting on the NWL and APL by Evan Guy 1 July 2315 Grape, Orange Maintain Division Leads The Grape Painted Ghouls and Orange Tourists remain as the leaders of the Nortth and South Bradberton divisions as we enter the last full month of the 2315 season. Grape is up by six games on Victory, followed by Quantum and Wild. The Painted Ghouls are seeking their first North Bradberton title since 2307, when they completed two-straight division crowns. Their only title came in 2301. For the Tourists, they are seeking their 7th division crown and first since 2311. Their one title came in 2308. Orange has a three-game lead over Cherry, followed by Quartz and Dark. It's a time for celebration in Cherry as Swamp Dantin has just walked away with June's Nuka World League Batter of the Month award. He socked 36 hits in 87 at-bats to put up a .414 batting average, 4 home runs, 26 RBIs and 16 runs scored. Dantin is hitting .393 in 2315 with 41 RBIs and 8 home runs. In June when the Orange manager wrote the name "Puckett" on the lineup card, he knew he had a good shot at winning. Start after start in the month, Allen Puckett took the hill, took charge and usually got the win. He dominated with a 5-0 mark and 2.98 ERA in 6 starts. The gifted Tourists star pitched 45.1 innings, fanned 24 and held opposing teams to a .306 average. For his outstanding mound performance Puckett was named the NWL Pitcher of the Month by the baseball writers. This year, Puckett has 7 wins and 1 loss and a 3.46 ERA. In the APL, both the Red Rocket Radrats and Grandchester Flying Ants lead their divisions. The Radrats have a three-game lead over the Junkyard Space Cadets and Nuka Bottling Plant Pack. Grandchester has a three-game lead over the Nuka Plan Electrics. Nuka Jolly Elves fans may just have witnessed a star player blossoming before their eyes in June. Alf Zimmerman put up a remarkable month at the age of 24 and has been named the Amusement Park League Batter of the Month. For the month, Zimmerman hit .392 with 6 home runs, 25 RBIs and 14 runs scored. The Pitcher of the Month for June has been picked and the Amusement Park League award went to Nuka Jolly hurler, Franfran Rivera. During the month, Rivera was impressive with a 2.57 ERA and 3 wins and 1 loss. In 28 innings he struck out 29 and gave up 27 hits and 6 walks. Victory's Shift McHenry collected 14 hits to snare the Nuka World League Rookie of the Month for June. He batted .298 with 5 home runs, 10 RBIs and 11 runs scored. The 21-year-old is barely old enough to shave, but he could definitely contend for Rookie of the Year if he keeps up this pace. McHenry is currently batting .267 with 5 home runs and 14 RBIs. ---------------------------------------------------------- Vim! View News of the Vim! League and Its Affiliates by Jimmy Gresham 1 July 2315, Day 31 for Jimmy Vim! League Report The fog may have been a bit thick the past few days, but the Vim! League has been clear. Clearly awesome! Hi, again, my Bar Harborians, Mount Desert Islandians, and all the other folks tuning into Vim! Radio for the exciting broadcasts of the world's best eight teams of the Vim! League. This is your new friend Jimmy giving you the monthly breakdown of what has happened in the Vim! League in June. For starters, Dalton Farm and Far Harbor are the division leaders. The Fog Crawlers are dominating the Fog Division with a lead of nine games over the National Park Gulpers, a 10-game lead over the Eden Meadows Anglers, and a 12-game lead over the Echo Lake Harbormen. In the Harbor Division, everything is much tighter. The Gwhales lead by one game over the Cranberry Island Hermit Crabs and four games over the Acadia Acadians and Grand Hotel Atoms. Toppie Gunn of the Dalton Farm Fog Crawlers has won the Vim! League Batter of the Month award, and it's no surprise. It was difficult to keep the 34-year-old off the bases in June, as he batted .312, hit 11 home runs, drove in 26 runs, scored 29 times and compiled a .418 on-base percentage. In 2315 Gunn has hit at a .343 clip with 61 hits, 16 home runs, 44 RBIs and has scored 47 times. So when does a fireman win an award? When he's named Mario Mustaccio, that's when. The Cranberry Island reliever won the Pitcher of the Month Award honors today for June, thanks to the solid numbers he put up coming out of the bullpen. He made 9 relief appearances and compiled 3 saves with a 4-0 mark, 12.1 innings, 9 strikeouts and a 2.19 ERA. Mustaccio has made 11 games so far this year with 5 saves. In 14.1 innings he has dished out 10 strikeouts and walked 2 with a 4-0 mark and a 1.88 ERA. Indian Cumzaround's eyes seem to light up whenever he sees the baseball. The young Far Harbor second baseman has been hitting everything in sight for the better part of a month. In June he was voted the Rookie of the Month. During the month he hit .347 with 3 doubles, 1 triple and 5 home runs. Cumzaround also scored 12 times and drove in 12 runs. Cumzaround is hitting .359 for the season with 8 home runs, 21 RBIs and 28 runs scored. He has 55 hits in 153 at-bats and played in 44 games. MDIL Report In the Mount Desert Island League, Cliff's Edge is the leader of the Small Bertha Division and Kitteredge is the leader of the Old Longfellow Division. The Actors lead by five games over the Brooke's Head Lights, six games over the Rock Point Barnacles, and 12 games over the Nucleus Radchickens. In the Longfellow, the Rad Rabbits have a two-game lead over the Rayburn Point Patcheyes, a three-game lead over the MS Azalea Shipwrecks, and a four-game lead over the Haddock Cove Engineers. Rock Point Barnacles fans believe they've got a talented young star in Bloop Single. He did nothing to dissuade that notion in June, as he hit .354 with 9 home runs, 14 RBIs and 13 runs scored. The end result was the left fielder being named the Mount Desert Island League Batter of the Month. June's top hurler was Rakel Majni of Haddock Cove. He shackled Mount Desert Island League hitters the entire month and claimed the Pitcher of the Month award with a sparkling 3-0 mark. The 20-year-old Majni added 15 strikeouts in 23 innings and 13 walks to his season record and compiled a 4.30 ERA. Other clubs hit .280 against him.

July 2315
Hmmm. Every time lately that I have attempted to write a report, the site has not been loading for me. It's slow today but functioning. Let's go for it and hope it works.
BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, CCBL, and CYL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 12 July 2315 CBO Analysis This is our last pre All-Star Break update, with just three more updates coming after this one. With just seven weeks left in the season, we will break down what some teams need to win the championship and what some teams probably need to deal away to win a future one. But first, let's look at the Power Rankings. Here are the current team power rankings for Commonwealth Baseball Organization: Teams (Total Points, Tendency): 1) University Point Deathclaws (110.5, +) 2) Lexington Synths (109.4, ++) 3) Atom Cats (107.4, -) 4) Salem Witch Hats (105.8, -) 5) Oberland T-51s (104.3, o) 6) Vault 81 Dwellers (104.2, -) 7) Roxbury Rad Sox (100.1, ++) 8) Malden Grognaks (100.0, ++) 9) Bunker Hill 75ers (99.3, -) 10) Quincy Gunners (97.1, o) 11) Diamond City Swatters (96.1, -) 12) Southie Brews (93.0, ++) 13) Concord Radstags (91.0, o) 14) Fort Hagen Silver Shroud (91.0, +) 15) The Slog Ghouls (90.0, -) 16) Glowing Sea Radscorpions (87.1, --) 17) Easy Town Assaultrons (86.0, --) 18) Nordhagen Beach Party Boys (85.6, ++) 19) Jamaica Plain Red Rockets (82.9, ++) 20) Spectacle Island Reapers (82.9, --) 21) Sunshine Tidings Chemists (82.6, -) 22) Nahant Celtics (79.7, ++) 23) Cambridge Coursers (78.9, -) 24) FHE Yao Guai (77.9, --) 25) County Crossing Bloodbugs (74.8, -) 26) Egret Ninjas (72.7, o) 27) Goodneighbor Hancocks (72.6, o) 28) Starlight Killers (58.4, o) Brotherhood League Salem still holds the best record in the NCA, but after a 3-7 string in their last 10, the Witch Hats no longer hold the CBO's best record. That is now University Point's by a half game. With that stated, the Hats still have a 9.5-game lead over Malden, followed by Easy Town and The Slog at 44-44, Nahant, County Crossing, and Nordhagen Beach. Realistic championship prospects: Salem Best chance is a playoff appearance: Malden, Easy Town, The Slog Not going to make it: Nahant, County Crossing, Nordhagen Beach For the Witch Hats, we do not recommend any specific moves. Salem is talented throughout the roster and may be the best overall team in the CBO. If we had to choose a position to upgrade, we would pick centerfield where veteran Andy Dogleash (.247/6/35) is sufficent but not helping to produce as many runs as the team could use. Top Players on the Block: SS Gavin Deux-Gas, The Slog - .352/13/58 RF Babs Rooth, County Crossing - .321/9/57 RF Baktu DaWell, The Slog - .302/14/41 2B Bulleye Shooterson, Nahant - .314/19/63 SP Mister Burns, Nordhagen Beach - 4-8. 3.60 The Slog may be sellers, but the defending champions are not out of the race completely. With a .500 record, the Ghouls would be the last team in if the playoff started today. The amazing thing is that statistically they appear to still be contenders. The Slog is 4th in runs scored (439) and 6th in runs allowed (420), showing they should have a winning record. They are decent in one-run games (11-9), and 7-6 in extra innings. SS Gavin Deux-Gas (.352/13/58/23 SB) and RF Baktu DaWell (.302/14/41) have been the team leaders in hitting. Part of the pitching has been the leading bullpen in ERA (3.45). CL Orlando Bransford (11 SV, 2.09) has been good, but the starters have no one with a winning record. Fourth starter, Quincy Jones (6-6, 3.88), has the best numbers. Institute League Lexington is still holding on in the IL with a three-game lead over Bunker Hill. The rest of the league is below .500 with Fort Hagen and Concord at 43-45, followed by Cambridge, Sunshine Tidings, and Starlight anchored as the CBO's worst team at 31-57. Realistic championship prospects: Lexington, Bunker Hill Best chance is a playoff appearance: Fort Hagen, Concord, Cambridge Not going to make it: Sunshine Tidings, Starlight Lexington’s “weakness” is power hitting, where they are tied for 7th in the NCA in homers with 92. With RF Hurr Lee Reyes out with injury, only two players currently have a double-digit number of home runs. The Synths lead in batting average, so it is tough to recommend replacing OPS with SLG, but the Synths could use another big bat in the lineup. Bunker Hill desperately needs pitching, especially an effective starter or two, to compete for a championship in 2315. Ace Pokey Chatman (6-7, 4.56) may be the worst ace in the league. As a 3rd pitcher, he would have value, meaning all of Jason Tonelli, Hangman Alley, and Trauma Medley should be in the bullpen in the playoffs. Top Players on the Block: SP Leyden Aigg, Concord – 10-5, 3.81 C Clownie Blammo, Cambridge – .300/14/45 LF Family Sam Partridge, Sunshine Tidings - .287/19/48 SP Clubhouse Treelover, Fort Hagen – 10-3, 3.90 1B Hax Kim, Concord – .263/8/43 The Coursers thought they had something going early in the season, but they have since faded in their quest for their first playoff trip. Cambridge is still in decent shape statistically, but they are not getting the wins. The Coursers are 7th in runs scored (424) and 4th in runs allowed (415). On offense, Cambridge is 3rd in home runs (99). Five players have at least 10 home runs, led by LF Pro Jabonete (.289/17/49), 3B McMack Bingham (.315/15/52), and C Clownie Blammo (.300/14/45). The top three starters all have decent ERAs: Hry Caje (7-8, 4.30), Scooter Yaghmour (8-10, 3.85), and Freon McMahan (10-3, 4.19). CL Monte Ward (13 SV, 7.43) has not been decent. Minutemen League As mentioned, the Deathclaws are now the CBO's best team. The veteran-laden team with 14 of 25 players over 30 is perhaps the CBO’s most “Win Now” teams of all teams in the CBO. Not far behind at three games back, Atom is holding firmly onto 2nd place, followed by Quincy as the only other team above .500. The rest of the ML is Southie, Jamaica Plain, Spectacle Island, and Goodneighbor with the SCA’s worst record. Realistic championship prospects: University Point, Atom Best chance is a playoff appearance: Quincy, Southie Not going to make it: Jamaica Plain, Spectacle Island, Goodneighbor After a number of great years with Roxbury, the Claws’ 3B Donn Mattingley may have hit his career limit. With a .243/7/38 line, he is more hindrance to University Point’s offense than assistant. The Deathclaws could use more power in his place. Atom could also use more offensive production from the bottom of its lineup. With CF Hickory Dockery (.209/6/37) and SS Alec Box (.212/1/23) in the 7th and 8th spots, some better hitting there could be the boost the Cats need to return to the Sole Survivor Series. Top Players on the Block: LF Ken Debate, Jamaica Plain - .275/21/44 SP Jalep Temper, Spectacle Island – 7-7, 4.10 The Red Rockets have not been to the playoffs since 2312, and 2315 is sure to be the third-straight season. Offense has been productive, including being 5th in runs scored (446) and tied for 3rd in home runs (110). Two players are among the CBO’s power hitters, including the CBO leader in homers, SS Brandon Larsonist (.277/24/68), and LF Ken Debate (.275/21/44). Pitching has not been good and could use talent. The Rockets are 12th in runs allowed (470), including 13th in Starters ERA (4.98). Fourth starter, Efrain Snackpack (3-6, 4.06), has the best ERA, though ace Frank Heart (10-3, 4.29) has received good run support. CL Mel Stud Quijas (19 SV, 3.95) has been OK from the bullpen. Railroad League Vault 81 has a one-game lead over Oberland in what is still a very good league. All of Roxbury, Diamond City, and Glowing Sea are just three or four games back. FHE and Egret take up the rear. Realistic championship prospects: Vault 81 Best chance is a playoff appearance: Oberland, Roxbury, Diamond City, Glowing Sea Not going to make it: FHE, Egret The Dwellers could use an upgrade to the 2B spot. Chris Connexx (.227/8/45) is banged up and Artie Selfian (.252/2/14) is not a great backup for him. 3B Harry Byrd (.298/1/15) may be at the end of line and should be replaced. Top Players on the Block: CF Missile Crews, FHE - .304/14/42 SP baker Dozen, FHE – 11-9, 3.78 RF Magnum Peaeye, Diamond City - .277/16/46 CL Ryan Roberson – 18 SV, 2.55 The Ninjas have been trying to figure things out for several years now, stuck as a team that seems decently talented in a league that is very much so. First-year GM Dean Barker has stated that he wanted to build from where they are insread of trying to blow up the team. Unfortunately, there is a balance between talent and some players who may not belong on a CBO roster. The offense is tied for 11th in runs scored (407) 1B Dynamo Bynes (.308/14/41) is the team leader. CF Copper Quartz (.281/11/51) and LF Jesus Church (.270/11/45) have combined for decent average and power. On the mound, the Ninjas are 13th in runs allowed (473), thanks in large part to the worst Starters ERA (5.22). SP Sheldon Mayoral (7-8, 4.95) is the best Egret can put on the starting bump. CL Sniper O’Reilly (13 SV, 3.96) has been OK. CBO Standings CBO Players of the Week July 5 - It's always a thrill for fans of the team and students of the game alike when a superstar in the making shows what he's got. Slammin' Sammy Holloway, the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys 23-year-old first baseman, put himself in the spotlight last week making him the clear-cut choice for North Charles Association Player of the Week honors. He ripped 12 hits in 24 at-bats, compiling a .500 average with 2 home runs and 3 RBIs. In the 2315 season Holloway is hitting .303 with 14 home runs. Over the past week, Donovan Mackey has feasted on South Charles Association pitching. Today the Spectacle Island Reapers third baseman gobbled up the league's latest Player of the Week Award. Mackey swung the bat with purpose all week as he collected a .476 average, 10 hits in 21 at-bats, 3 home runs, 10 RBIs and 6 runs scored. This season, Mackey is batting .362 with 106 hits, 17 home runs, 60 RBIs, .443 OBP and has scored 58 runs. July 12 - It was an extraordinary week for Nauseous Revere of the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud. First he goes on a hot hitting streak, batting .500, then he is voted the Player of the Week in the North Charles Association. Last week Revere went 12-for-24, racked up 2 home runs and 4 RBIs and scored 7 runs. It was a heck of a week for the Fort Hagen shortstop. So far this season, Revere is batting .302 with 11 home runs. When it came to hitting the baseball, Willie O'Reilly was in a class by himself in the South Charles Association this past week. Nobody did it better. The outstanding third baseman for Goodneighbor tagged opposing pitchers for a .545 average and was voted the Player of the Week Award. Included in his stats were 12 hits in 22 at-bats, 2 homers, 6 runs scored and 7 RBIs. This season, O'Reilly is batting .307 with 36 RBIs, 30 runs scored and 6 home runs. CBO Noteworthy News July 8 - It took quite a few years to do it, but Harry Byrd finally did it. The Dwellers third baseman swatted hit #2000 this afternoon at Hubris Comics Park, but still came up short in the victory column. The Fort Hagen Silver Shroud came away with a 6-2 win over Vault 81. Byrd was 2-for-4 in the loss. Byrd's career batting average stands at .316, and he has 307 home runs. July 9 – In an amazing team feat, the Bunker Hill 75ers scored 25 runs in a 25-5 victory over Goodneighbor. 1B Zodf Gaycey was 4 for 6 with two doubles, a walk, four runs, and eight RBI. LF Kasumi Goto was 3 for 7 with two home runs, four runs, and five RBI. 3B Cave Dweller Bourgeois walked for a team record four times and scored a team record five runs. July 11 - Ending weeks of speculation, Josh Samm announced his retirement today. The Rad Sox reliever has been reportedly weighing the decision since last year, sources close to Samm say. "I'm not going to deny it's been a difficult decision," Samm said, speaking to the rumors, "but it's time. It took me a while to realize that, but it's time to leave the game." During his 913-game career Samm has fashioned a 89-99 won-lost record. In 1030 innings he has rolled up 963 strikeouts and a 3.62 ERA with 388 saves. July 12 – Roy Lach has been arrested for firing a stray bullet that happened to strike CYL player Mick Tuck of the Saugus . The incident occurred on July 4 near Battle of Bunker Hill Memorial Stadium for a July 4 fireworks show following the Nahant-Bunker Hill matchup, sending Tuck to emergency services. Unfortunately, Tuck passed away before a stimpak was available. It was revealed today that Lach was implicated, where he surrendered to Minutemen guards in Nahant. Tuck was supposedly in attendance in the stadium for the game and was also in the stadium watching the show when the stray bullet struck him. Reportedly, Lach randomly fired the gun in the air during the fireworks show. He did not pitch in the game. Lach left with the Celtics when they traveled back to Nahant. He pitched again just two days ago in what will likely be his final game as a pro. In his career, Lach is 30-50 with 12 saves and a 5.75 ERA. He has appeared in 410 games, starting 75, among Oberland and Finch Farm/Nahant over 16 seasons.

August 2315
BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, CCBL, CYL, and CBA by Nat Wright-Kawolski 1 August 2315 CBO Top Performances Oberland is the premier offensive team of the 2315 season. In July, the T-51s' Dexion Evicus joined the Top Performance list because of his July 23 efforts against Roxbury. Evicus scored the second-most game points (121) on the season, trailing only teammate Odd Todd Walker's record-setting performance on May 28. In the 15-2 victory at the Rad Sox, Evicus was 5 for 6 with a double, three home runs, four runs, and six RBI. On the mound, there were two performances by teammates that earned game scores of 90, tying them with four others for the third-best performance on the season. On July 25, Southie's Air McNair pitched a complete-game one-hitter, striking out five batters in a 1-0 victory at Oberland. In a pitcher's duel, the T-51s' Ahsoka Tano gave up a solo home run to Mikita Sano in the top of the 9th to lose the game. Six days later (yesterday), the Brews' Buzzcut McDonald also scored 90 when he pitches a 9-0 shutout over University Point. McDonald allowed just two hits and struck out seven in the 102-pitch effort over the CBO's top team. CBO Players of the Month NCA Hitter - Slammin' Sammy Holloway made his presence known as one of the best young stars in the North Charles Association this past month. The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys first baseman shined through the month of July and has won the Batter of the Month award. The 23-year-old hit .439 with 5 home runs, 23 RBIs and 25 runs scored. In 101 games this year, Holloway has posted a .319 average and put up these numbers: 19 home runs, 60 RBIs and 69 runs scored. SCA Hitter - Lee Mayhew, the Atom second baseman, certainly made a name for himself this past month. He banged out a .351 batting average with 34 hits, 8 home runs, 22 RBIs and scored 22 times. That kind of hitting earned him the South Charles Association Batter of the Month honors for July. For the year, Mayhew is batting .299 with 21 home runs, 67 RBIs and 85 runs scored. NCA Pitcher - The Pitcher of the Month has been chosen and the North Charles Association trophy went to Lexington hurler, Admiral Kelm. During the month, Kelm was impressive with a 2.29 ERA and 5 wins and 1 loss. In 39.1 innings he struck out 31 and gave up 28 hits and 15 walks. To date Kelm is 10-7 in 25 starts with a 3.93 ERA and has 119 strikeouts in 158 innings. SCA Pitcher - Last month was a very successful month for Macho Lopez of Diamond City. So successful that he has been honored as the Pitcher of the Month in the South Charles Association. Lopez shut down league hitters in fine fashion, rounding out July with an impressive 5-1 mark and 2.45 ERA in 6 starts with 45 strikeouts in 44 innings. This season, Lopez has fashioned a 13-7 mark and 2.69 ERA in 181 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .232 against him and he has logged 157 strikeouts. NCA Rookie - Eddie Furnace is still a bit shy, but then, who could blame the newest North Charles Association Rookie of the Month honoree? He hasn't been around the league long enough to fully know the ropes yet, despite the fact that he's putting up veteran-like numbers. In July the Sunshine Tidings hitter tagged opposing pitching for a .412 average with 33 hits, 7 home runs and 21 RBIs. At the moment, Furnace is batting .303 with 20 home runs and 64 RBIs. He has played in 92 games and scored 55 times. SCA Rookie - Honker Trinkl's eyes seem to light up whenever he sees the baseball. The young Roxbury first baseman has been hitting everything in sight for the better part of a month. In July he was voted the Rookie of the Month. During the month he hit .380 with 7 doubles, 1 triple and 8 home runs. Trinkl also scored 20 times and drove in 14 runs. Trinkl's current batting average stands at .349 and he has chalked up 23 home runs and 49 RBIs. NEBL Analysis The 108-game season is quickly coming to a close with just nine games remaining on the 2315 season. Current divisional leaders are the Manchester Granites (Maine), Abernathy Adamantium (Vershire), Brookline Bashers (Mass), and a tie between the Providence Warlocks and Worcester Cannons in the Connri Division. NEBL Players of the Month PL Hitter - At only 25 years of age, Weston DeGurlz could very well have many more months like this last one during his career. That would be great news for fans of the Abernathy Adamantium, as July was one to remember for the first baseman and he has captured the Patriot League Batter of the Month award. On the month he hit .427 with 7 home runs, 22 RBIs and 20 runs scored. A look at his season totals shows DeGurlz with 15 home runs, .355 BA, .429 OBP, 54 RBIs and 54 runs scored. YL Hitter - Fall River Rippers fans may just have witnessed a star player blossoming before their eyes in July. Adavald Vigilant put up a remarkable month at the age of 21 and has been named the Yankee League Batter of the Month. For the month, Vigilant hit .327 with 8 home runs, 25 RBIs and 19 runs scored. Batting .322 to date, Vigilant has 14 home runs and 46 RBIs. PL Pitcher - Orel Hershey certainly found a groove in July. The Marlborough starter posted 5 wins last month to easily claim the Patriot League Pitcher of the Month. During the month Hershey was 5-1 with a 1.47 ERA. He made 7 starts, tossed 55 innings and had 44 strikeouts. Currently Hershey has a record of 5-4 with 65 strikeouts and 14 walks in 78.1 innings and a 2.76 ERA. YL Pitcher - In July Warwick starter, Danny Janssen really put the strong arm on the other Yankee League teams and hauled in the Pitcher of the Month trophy. He did it with an impressive 5 wins and no losses. In 6 starts and 37.2 innings of work, Janssen limited opposing batters to 31 base hits and a .231 batting average. He fanned 26, issued 10 walks and had a 1.43 ERA. This season, Janssen has compiled a 9-6 record with a 3.82 ERA in 20 starts. MML Analysis One division, the Boggs, is pretty much set in the MML, but the other three divisions are exciting with nine to play. In the Boggs Division, the Covenant Refractors have a nine-game lead and a Magic # of 1 over the Ipswich Hitters. Other leaders are the Revere Beach Shoremen (Murtagh), a tie in the Williams Division between the Hull Lead Bellies and Pawtucket Pips, and the Mayoral Shelter Tricentennials (Yastrzemski). MML Players of the Month LL Hitter - Even though he is a newcomer to Massachusetts Minor League, Merlin Hodges put up some good numbers in July and earned the LL Batter of the Month award. He was one of Marblehead's offensive leaders with a .307 average in 27 games. He also racked up 9 home runs, 19 RBIs, and 26 runs scored. Hodges is hitting .274 in 2315 with 24 RBIs and 11 home runs. SL Hitter - Phil Adelfia, the Cranston first baseman, certainly made a name for himself this past month. He banged out a .392 batting average with 40 hits, 4 home runs, 17 RBIs and scored 17 times. That kind of hitting earned him the Stars League Batter of the Month honors for July. Adelfia is hitting .287 this year with 7 home runs and 41 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .370, 40 walks and scored 47 times. LL Pitcher - In July Bedford starter Storm Steele mystified Legends League hitters and carried off the Pitcher of the Month honors by chalking up a 5-1 record in 6 starts. The 22-year-old Steele added 22 strikeouts in 45.2 innings and 18 walks to his season record and compiled a 1.18 ERA. Opposing batters hit .184 against him. Thus far this season, Steele has worked 131.1 innings with 68 strikeouts en route to a 10-5 record and a 2.67 ERA. SL Pitcher - Brockton Irish starter Arwen Gonar has collected the Stars League Pitcher of the Month award for a run of lights-out performances. "This town really appreciates it when you're going well," said Gonar. "They might boo you when you're getting knocked around, but they love you when you're mowin' them down." In July the 21-year-old compiled a 5-1 record in 6 starts with a 1.33 ERA. He threw 47.1 innings, fanning 23 while walking 12. Gonar has posted a 13-5 record for the year with a 2.79 ERA. Teams are hitting .251 against him and he has rung up 77 strikeouts in 142 innings. BMU Final Standings The 2315 regular season ended on July 22 with the Parsons Asylum Greasers (Dark Hollow Pond), Union Hope Lifegivers (Cambridge), Pleasant Lake Patriots (Downtown Boston), and Westing Estate Alphas (Glowing Sea) each winning their divisions and qualifying for the playoffs. BMU Playoff Update In the Association Championship Round, divisional winners from the Commonwealth and Massachusetts Associations met in a three-game series to determine which teams would head to the Boston Minor Series. In the CA, the Union Hope Lifegivers (SI) topped the Parasons Asylum Greasers (Good), 2 games to 1, to advance. In Game One, the Lifegivers took it 6-3. The Greasers won Game 2, 6-3, but Union Hope took Game 3, 10-4. LF Leo Dawn a 2308 2nd-round pick by Spectacle Island was named Series MVP. The MA's Association Championship Round saw a matchup between the Pleasant Lake Patriots (Sou) and the Westing Estate Alphas (Con). The Alphas swept the series, 2-0, winning Game 1, 6-3, and Game 2, 12-4. RF Lil General Johnson, a 2310 10th-round pick by Concord, was the Series MVP. The five-game Boston Minor Series is now in session, with Westing Estate currently leading 2-0. In the first two games at home, the Alphas won 7-6 and 2-0. Westing Estate needs one more win to earn its first Boston Minor Series title in its first trip. The Lifegivers are in their third Boston Minot Series and second-straight appearance. They won the title in 2304. BMU Players of the Month CA Hitter - Curious Vault has a lot going for him. The Med-Tek first baseman just broke into the majors this year and now the Commonwealth Association has just picked him as its top hitter for July. In 18 games last month this outstanding rookie batted .406 with 3 home runs, 17 RBIs and 15 runs scored. Thus far in 2315, Vault is hitting .333 with 10 home runs, 38 RBIs, 45 runs scored and has compiled a .415 OBP. MA Hitter - It's perhaps an award he'll win many more times through his career, as at age 22 Carlos Cadenhead has a lot of baseball ahead of him. But for now the young Pleasant Lake Patriots star can enjoy the numbers he put up in July, which have garnered him the nod as the Massachusetts Association Batter of the Month. His breakout month featured a .491 average with 4 home runs, 20 RBIs and 14 runs scored. For the year, Cadenhead has hit .443 with 8 home runs, 29 RBIs and scored 21 runs. CA Pitcher - July's top hurler was Siltbean Ferguson of Union Hope. He shackled Commonwealth Association hitters the entire month and claimed the Pitcher of the Month award with a sparkling 3-1 mark. The 20-year-old Ferguson added 25 strikeouts in 35.1 innings and 9 walks to his season record and compiled a 2.04 ERA. Other clubs hit .217 against him. His record this season is 6-3 in 12 starts and Ferguson has a 3.87 ERA. MA Pitcher - A spectacular July in the Westing Estate Alphas bullpen earned Dagmer Cleftjaw the Pitcher of the Month Award in the Massachusetts Association. He picked up 4 saves in 4 save opportunities and had 4 strikeouts in 9 innings. Cleftjaw racked up 2 wins and no losses. This year, Cleftjaw has made 23 relief appearances, pitched 30 innings, and fashioned a 3-0 record with a 1.20 ERA. He has recorded 5 saves, struck out 17, and allowed opposing clubs to hit .230 when he is on the hill. GBRL Final Standings Like the BMU, the GBRL completed its season on July 22. Divisional winners were the Croup Manor Leprechauns (Northeast), Beantown Brewers (Northwest), Murkwater Animal Friends (Southeast), and Waterbury Cola Kings (Southwest). GBRL Playoff Update The League Championships were three-game series to determine the participants in the 2315 Rookie Series. In the North League, the Leprechauns (Nah) defeated the Brewers (Egr), 2-0, winning Game 1, 9-8, and Game 2, 8-4. Series MVP was 2B Coldfire Trill, a 2314 10th-round pick by Nahant. In the South League, the Cola Kings (Con) defeated the Animal Friends (ET), 2-0, with wins of 4-1 and 7-5. Concord's 2312 5th-round pick, RF Hananhiah Leo, was the Series MVP. In the Rookie Series, Waterbury currently has a 2-1 series lead over Croup Manor. In Game 1, the Cola Kings got offensive, winning 17-2. In Game 2, the Kings won again, 10-8, winning both on the road. In Game 3, the Leprechauns got their first win, 12-7. Game 4 is tonight with Waterbury having a chance to clinch the series at home. This is the first Rookie Series for each team. GBRL Players of the Month NL Hitter - Gram Baylor may be much younger than other hitters in the North League, but he performed like a seasoned veteran in July to win the Batter of the Month award. The 20-year-old Fiddler's Green right fielder hit .391 with 8 home runs, 24 RBIs and 20 runs scored. Thus far this year, Baylor has hit .348 with 40 home runs and 105 RBIs. SL Hitter - When Fixxer McDowell stepped up to the plate in July he did it with confidence, and today he was honored with the South League Batter of the Month award. The young Greenwich second baseman posted a .380 batting average with 7 home runs, 14 RBIs and scored 21 runs. McDowell also worked pitchers for 15 walks to post a .523 on-base percentage. Thus far this year, McDowell is batting .316 with 23 home runs, 55 RBIs and 55 runs scored. NL Pitcher - Devon Cobbs is the latest North League Pitcher of the Month award winner. The Brattleboro starter shone on the hill repeatedly last month and finished July with a sparkling 4-2 record. In 6 starts he tossed 39.2 innings, posted 43 strikeouts, and put up a 1.59 ERA. For the season, Cobbs has compiled a 5-5 record with a 2.67 ERA. SL Pitcher - July's elite pitcher was Chop Robinson of Stamford. He silenced South League hitters the entire month and claimed the Pitcher of the Month award with 4 wins and no losses in 4 starts. Robinson restricted opposing hitters to a .235 batting average. He rang up 50 strikeouts in 26.2 innings of work, surrendered 12 walks and crafted a 3.04 ERA. For this year, Robinson has chalked up 7 wins and 6 losses in 16 starts with 127 strikeouts in 88.1 innings and a 6.83 ERA.

Season Pass Association
---------------------------------------------------------- Nuka News Update Reporting on the NWL and APL by Evan Guy 1 August 2315 Grape, Orange in Great Shape With just 15 games remaining in five series per team, the Grape Painted Ghouls, up by five games, and Orange Tourists, up by two games, are division leaders. The Tourists are looking to make their first Nuka Series appearance since 2311 and win their first tite since 2308. Meanwhile, the Painted Ghouls are looking to make their first appearance since 2307 and win their first title since 2301. Grape is up five on Quantum, while Victory and Wild are both close to elimination. In 2314, the Cave Crickets clinched the North Bradberton by just a game over the Gatorclaws. In the South Bradberton, the Tourists lead 2314 division champion Cherry, with Quartz just four back, At 25-49, Dark has already been eliminated from playoff contention. Genius Jerry Kordic, the Cherry right fielder, had a productive month in July. He put up some solid numbers with a .373 batting average (41 for 110), 5 home runs, 24 RBIs and 24 runs scored. That standout offense earned him the Nuka World League Batter of the Month Trophy. Kordic is hitting .316 this year with 13 home runs, 53 RBIs and 62 runs scored. He has 99 hits in 313 at-bats, 26 walks and a .368 on-base percentage. Kordic has played in 72 games. It was a prolific month of July for Quantum reliever Jovani Earnest. He put his best foot forward with 8 saves in 9 save opportunities. Numbers so good that the Nukalurks Nuka World League voted him the Pitcher of the Month. During the month, the Nukalurks bullpen specialist bagged 2 wins and no losses while compiling a 1.17 ERA. In 15.1 innings Jovani Earnest gave up 13 base hits, fanned 1, and walked 3. The hitters he faced batted .232 against him. For the year, Earnest has nailed down 16 saves. In 39.1 innings he has fanned 27 batters and walked 6. His record is 3-5 with a 3.20 ERA and the opposition is batting .262 against him. Bob Earthling of the Grape Painted Ghouls dominated Nuka World League teams and had an award-winning month. He started 5 games and came away with 4 wins and the Nuka World League Rookie of the Month honors. Earthling crafted a 4-1 record, worked 37 innings, allowed 37 base hits, struck out 15 and walked 7. Clubs combined to hit .261 against him in July. For the season, Earthling has a record of 4 wins and 1 loss in 5 appearances. He has an ERA of 1.70 and has fanned 15 batters in 37 innings. In the APL, there are 12 games remaining on the 60-game season. Divisional leaders are the Red Rocket Radrats, up by three games on the Nuka Bottling Plant Pack, and the Grandchester Flying Ants, up bu six games on the Nuka Plant Electrics. For a rookie just breaking in, Cindiro Arano certainly put together a successful month. It was good enough to win the APL Batter of the Month award for July. The 21-year-old second baseman for the Nuka Bottling Plant Pack hit .344 with 8 home runs, 18 RBIs and 18 runs scored. So far this season, Arano is batting .319 with 12 home runs, 28 RBIs and 25 runs scored. He has 36 hits in 113 at-bats, 16 walks and a .405 OBP. Arano has played in 30 games. Adolphus Murtry had an outstanding July -- so good that the Amusement Park League presented him with the Pitcher of the Month Award earlier today. "There's no way to know where the Pack would be without Murtry," one fan is quoted as saying. In July Murtry dominated the competition, running up a 3-0 record, a 2.18 ERA and 20 strikeouts in 33 innings. Over the season Murtry has thrown 89 innings and dished out 47 strikeouts with a 6-3 mark and a 3.84 ERA. ---------------------------------------------------------- Vim! View News of the Vim! League and Its Affiliates by Jimmy Gresham 1 August 2315 Dalton Farm Atop Fog, Harbor Division Tied Between Crabs-Gwhales The most amazing Vim! League season continues with one division nearly settled and another division in an all-out war. This is your good friend Jimmy Gresham writing to you from "the booth," and here is the scoop on what is happening in the Vim! League as we enter the final month of the regular season. In the Fog Division, the Dalton Farm Fog Crawlers look just as mighty and daunting as their mascot with a nine-game lead over the National Park Gulpers. The Gulpers may be hanging in their like gulpers hang from trees, but the Fog Crawlers have a Magic # of just 7. Echo Lake and Eden Meadows are not hanging in there as well, both 11 games back. Last season, National Park won the division. In the Harbor Division, the Cranberry Island Hermit Crabs have used a three-game winning streak and a 7-3 mark intheir last 10 to catch the Far Harbor Ghoul Whales. Both teams are four games up on last season's Vim! Series champions, the Acadia Acadians, and seven up on Grand Hotel. If the Crabs happen to hold on, the mighty beasts in a bus would have claimed their first stake in the Vim! Series in team history. The Ghwales have been there six times before, winning one championship in the first season of Vim! League play in 2301. Vim! League Players of the Month Hitter - Chris Knickerbocker said at the age of 37 he's seen it all in professional baseball. But he may never have seen his own performance be as dominant as it was in July, as the Echo Lake Harbormen right fielder has won the Vim! League Batter of the Month award. Knickerbocker batted .396, hit 7 home runs, drove in 21 runs, scored 24 times and compiled a .439 on-base percentage. In the 2315 season Knickerbocker is hitting .331 with 15 home runs. Pitcher - In July Dalton Farm starter Phil Cecil confused hitters all month long. Last month's Vim! League Pitcher of the Month took home the trophy as he collected a 5-1 record in 6 starts. The 37-year-old Cecil added 24 strikeouts in 52.2 innings and 9 walks to his season record and compiled a 3.08 ERA. Other clubs hit .231 against him. So far this year, Cecil has 12 wins and 5 losses and a 2.71 ERA. Rookie - I'm not sure why he is a rookie since this is his fifth different season of part-time play in the Vim! League. However, the league selected him, so let's go with it. When it came to hitting the baseball, Lahsvey Gusse had few peers in the Vim! League last month. The gifted first baseman for Cranberry Island tagged opposing pitchers for a .247 average and was voted the Rookie of the Month for July. Included in his stats were 18 hits, 7 homers, 16 runs scored and 17 RBIs. For the season, Gusse is hitting at a .247 clip with 7 home runs, 17 RBIs and has scored 16 runs. He has 18 hits, 11 walks and a .345 on-base percentage. MDIL Analysis The Mount Desert Island League is still ongoing, and there are two leaders: the Cliff's Edge Actors and MS Azalea Shipwrecks. The Actors lead the Small Bertha Division by four games over Rock Point, and the Shipwrecks lead the Old Longfellow Division by three games over Rayburn Point. Haddock Cove Engineers fans believe they've got a talented young star in Peekaboo Leach. He did nothing to dissuade that notion in July, as he hit .396 with 7 home runs, 15 RBIs and 17 runs scored. The end result was the first baseman being named the Mount Desert Island League Batter of the Month. On the year, Leach has hit .342 with 17 home runs, 35 RBIs and scored 38 runs. He was the #1 pitcher in July according to the voters. A.C. Slate completely shut down opposing teams to win the Mount Desert Island League Pitcher of the Month Award. MS Azalea's star reliever held the opposition to a .250 average and put up 6 saves and 4 strikeouts in 12.1 innings with a 1-0 mark and 1.46 ERA. In 15 relief appearances this season, Slate has 6 saves. He has 1 win and 1 loss, 2.89 ERA and 9 strikeouts in 18.2 innings.

August 2315
Hmmm. Every time lately that I have attempted to write a report, the site has not been loading for me. It's slow today but functioning. Let's go for it and hope it works.
BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, CCBL, and CYL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 2 August 2315 CBO Analysis Now that the All-Star Game has ended, we are now in the final stretch of the 2315 season with just four more weeks of action and 26 games to go. Lexington has been the CBO's hottest team, winning 10 straight as we enter this Monday morning and now tieds with University Point for the CBO's best record. Five teams have reached 60 wins and look to be our best bets to win a championship in 2315. We will break down the current playoff order and feature each of the four CBO leagues. But first, here are the current team power rankings for the Commonwealth Baseball Organization: Teams (Total Points, Tendency): 1) Lexington Synths (130.7, o) 2) University Point Deathclaws (113.7, o) 3) Vault 81 Dwellers (109.7, +) 4) Quincy Gunners (105.6, ++) 5) Glowing Sea Radscorpions (105.4, o) 6) Atom Cats (104.9, ++) 7) Salem Witch Hats (104.7, -) 8) Easy Town Assaultrons (102.4, +) 9) Diamond City Swatters (100.8, ++) 10) Oberland T-51s (98.6, --) 11) Bunker Hill 75ers (97.4, --) 12) Malden Grognaks (91.4, --) 13) The Slog Ghouls (90.8, -) 14) Roxbury Rad Sox (88.8, -) 15) Southie Brews (87.2, o) 16) Cambridge Coursers (85.8, ++) 17) Fort Hagen Silver Shroud (84.8, ++) 18) Jamaica Plain Red Rockets (84.6, --) 19) Nordhagen Beach Party Boys (80.4, ++) 20) FHE Yao Guai (78.2, --) 21) Concord Radstags (77.8, --) 22) County Crossing Bloodbugs (77.1, ++) 23) Nahant Celtics (75.6, --) 24) Sunshine Tidings Chemists (74.6, --) 25) Goodneighbor Hancocks (73.1, -) 26) Starlight Killers (71.5, +) 27) Spectacle Island Reapers (71.1, -) 28) Egret Ninjas (67.3, --) Current playoff standings: NCA 1. Lexington 2. Salem 3. Bunker Hill 4T. Malden (5-5 vs Easy Town) 4T. Easy Town (5-5 vs Malden) 6. The Slog SCA 1. University Point 2. Vault 81 3. Atom 4. Glowing Sea 5. Quincy (3-1 vs Oberland) 6. Oberland (1-3 vs Quincy) Brotherhood League While the Witch Hats continue to have the largest leagu lead, that number has dwindled to only seven games. Still, with just 26 to play, that is a large enough number for the struggling Hats to probably have locked up the BL. The Assaultrons have been the CBO's second-hottest team behind the Synths, accruing an 8-2 record in their last 10 and a current three-game winning streak. Malden and The Slog are in great shape, while Nordhagen Beach, Nahant, and County Crossing can probably start looking to see what they have for 2316. The Trons are an interesting statistical anomaly based on stats versus standings. Easy Town is 11th in runs scored (483) and 6th in runs allowed (487), yet they are tied for 4th in the NCA standings. One major mention is that they have been improving over the course of the season and suddenly appear to be more dangerous. CF Eden Babz (.346/13/62/46SB) is a legitimate contender for the Nuka-Hitter Award. 1B Albie Cannibal (.285/20/70) is the home run and RBI leader for the NCA's 11th-best power team (97 HR). On the mound, SP Lonely Gale (9-10, 4.18) has been decent in his return from serious injury that kept him out most of the 2312 season and all of 2313-2314. SP Tarzan Rogers (11-7, 3.61) has been the best pitcher overall. Institute League As we mentioned, Lexington is hot, and we will feature them once again and their potential to win the SSS. After the Synths are Bunker Hill, which may be the only other playoff-worthy team. All of Fort Hagen, Cambridge, and Concord are tied for 3rd, but the Silver Shroud have hired three-time champion Zach Toth to manage the team. Sunshine Tidings and Starlight make up the rear. The Synths thought they were a year away last season when they took the IL. This season, they are suddenly on pace to finish with their best record in team history and make their third-straight (and third overall) playoff appearance. Lexington is 4th in runs scored (519) and 1st in runs allowed (429). With star RF Hurr Lee Reyes (.356/17/50) currently out with injury for about another week, the Synths are still packing their offensive output. 3B Tommy Whitetiger (.346/21/78) is the potential team Triple Crown winner, and CF Packs Ton Kling (.277/21/55) has been stellar. Pitching will have some tough decisions to make with fourth starter Admiral Kelm (10-7, 3.93) probably moving to the bullpen in the playoffs. That means the first three starters--Hunter Kim (13-3, 2.45), Deedee Martinson (7-8, 4.07), and Lyle Pine (10-6, 3.39)--can probably lead the charge. Kim is a possibility for the Vim! Pitcher Award. Minutemen League University Point continues to impress in the ML, though Atom catches fire from time to time to make that four-game lead unstable. Quincy is in the playoff race, while the rest of the league--Southie, Jamaica Plain, Goodneighbor, and Spectacle Island--are probably not. The Cats trail only University Point in productivity, but they may be the most balanced team in the SCA and our current pick to reach the Sole Survivior Series. Atom is 2nd in in runs scored (560) and runs allowed (442), including a CBO-best (tied with Lexington) 3.84 Starters ERA. On offesne, C Tawfiq Kibowen (.298/25/76) has seemingly come from nowhere. Other contributors include LF Gremlin T. Squearfish (.334/10/58), RF Candy Kline (.321/13/56), and 2B Lee Mayhew (.303/21/69). The top two starters, the newly minted Doug "K-9" Creep (14-6, 3.69) and Josh Brown (12-6, 3.52), may be in a team battle for the Vim! Pitcher Award. The Cats need someone to step up in the closer role to truly be championship contenders with CL Tippy Hunter (19 SV, 5.37) struggling to get outs. Railroad League Vault 81 is again chasing a championship, though the competition has been fiercer in 2315. With the smallest league lead of three games, the Dwellers need to hold off two good teams in Glowing Sea and Oberland. Diamond City and Roxbury are still in the race, but they both trail the T-51s for the 6th playoff spot by four games and need to get hot to get in. FHE and Egret can look to next season. The Ninjas are probably drafting 2nd in the 2315 Draft and can probably target a player like SP Bullet Barnes of Northeastern University. Glowing Sea was already the only expansion team to make the playoffs, shocking the league in 2313 with their playoff run. This season, they may be one of the CBO's better teams. The Radscorpions do need offensive production to improve drastically, though. They are 12th in runs scord (483) and 13th in average (.267). Two players not struggling are stars, RF Naga Arakaki (.340/16/73) and CF Enigma Montgomery (.339/16/70). On the mound, ace Alex Language (.12-9, 3.09) is a top contender for the Vim! Pitcher Award. Glowing Sea is 5th in runs allowed (460), though their bullpen has struggled with the 12th-best ERA (4.98). CBO Standings CBO All-Star Game All-Star Jamaica Plain Red Rockets' left fielder Ken Debate had a night to remember. Not only did he take the field with the game's best players, he was also a huge factor in the 8-2 South Charles Association victory over the North Charles Association All-Stars. "We had a meeting before the game, and I was struck by the talent in the room. Old stars, young stars, it's a game I'll never forget," Debate said. "I talked to a few of my friends from back home, and they told me to go out and win the game for them. I'm sure they'll be thrilled." In his 1203-game career, Debate has hit at a .305 clip and collected 1363 hits with 252 doubles, 22 triples, 357 homers, and 932 RBIs. The 2315 Home Run Challenge riveted the crowd at Hallucigen Stadium at UP. This time, Barker Cocoa took home the championship hardware. In the final round, the University Point Deathclaws first baseman out-performed Tawfiq Kibowen by a score of 7-4. "Tawfiq is a gifted hitter," said Cocoa. "I knew I'd need my best effort to beat him." Cocoa has a lifetime .352 average and .497 on-base percentage in his career with 2392 hits, 397 doubles, 30 triples, 633 home runs, 1709 RBIs and 1827 runs scored. Nothing is for certain about the 2315 Commonwealth Baseball Organization All-Star Game. It might be dominated by top-notch pitching performances. Or it could turn into a home run derby. Who knows? Pitch by pitch, inning by inning, the game could feature a little of both -- six strikeouts in a row by a nasty southpaw -- or a 3-homer day for some superstar slugger -- plus great catches, thrills, chills and spills -- all the great and the unexpected things that can happen in a baseball game. This year, the North Charles Association will be represented by these All-Star performers: SP Leyden Aigg (CON)* - 10-7, 3.97 ERA, 177.0 IP, 1.25 WHIP, 8.6 K/9, 3.3 WAR SP Edgar Drezek (MAL) - 10-9, 3.38 ERA, 170.2 IP, 1.21 WHIP, 7.4 K/9, 2.0 WAR SP Hunter Kim (LEX)* - 12-3, 12 SV, 2.31 ERA, 66.1 IP, 1.18 WHIP, 10.0 K/9, 2.1 WAR SP Lyle Pine (LEX) - 10-6, 3.40 ERA, 172.0 IP, 1.18 WHIP, 6.9 K/9, 3.4 WAR SP Tarzan Rogers (ET) - 10-7, 3.57 ERA, 194.0 IP, 1.26 WHIP, 7.6 K/9, 3.7 WAR SP Paul Stains (SAL) - 14-8, 3.57 ERA, 194.1 IP, 1.21 WHIP, 7.7 K/9, 4.9 WAR SP Scooter Yaghmour (CAM) - 10-11, 3.70 ERA, 185.0 IP, 1.23 WHIP, 8.2 K/9, 2.7 WAR RP Mike Koenig (CC) - 0-1, 2.22 ERA, 56.2 IP, 1.46 WHIP, 7.0 K/9, 0.4 WAR RP Corpulus Vinius (SAL) - 6-2, 13 SV, 2.95 ERA, 39.2 IP, 1.34 WHIP, 10.2 K/9, -0.1 WAR CL Tut Cadillac (ET) - 8-6, 27 SV, 2.91 ERA, 52.2 IP, 1.27 WHIP, 5.0 K/9, 1.1 WAR C Bill Barnes (ET) - .295/.378/.528, 288 AB, 15 HR, 1 SB, 134 wRC+, 3.2 WAR C Silvam Fourteen (SLOG) - .308/.368/.502, 263 AB, 10 HR, 120 wRC+, 2.1 WAR C Red Jay Jones (ST)* - .378/.412/.604, 333 AB, 16 HR, 162 wRC+, 4.4 WAR 1B Brian DeLong (SAL)* - .333/.464/.570, 342 AB, 17 HR, 171 wRC+, 4.1 WAR 1B Slammin' Sammy Holloway (NB) - .314/.391/.517, 360 AB, 17 HR, 1 SB, 138 wRC+, 2.8 WAR 2B King Hippo (STAR) - .333/.365/.509, 381 AB, 11 HR, 14 SB, 124 wRC+, 3.0 WAR 2B Miko Miko (BH) - .320/.380/.504, 353 AB, 10 HR, 129 wRC+, 2.7 WAR 2B Bulleye Shooterson (NAH)* - .313/.396/.567, 342 AB, 22 HR, 146 wRC+, 2.5 WAR 2B Yoink Yukon (CC) - .314/.421/.464, 280 AB, 5 HR, 24 SB, 139 wRC+, 3.2 WAR 3B Tommy Whitetiger (LEX)* - .356/.426/.599, 362 AB, 20 HR, 1 SB, 171 wRC+, 5.2 WAR SS Peter Pan Calvillo (SAL) - .291/.375/.443, 368 AB, 11 HR, 4 SB, 118 wRC+, 3.7 WAR SS Gavin Deux-Gas (SLOG)* - .356/.435/.593, 371 AB, 15 HR, 28 SB, 169 wRC+, 6.5 WAR SS Evan Keel (NAH) - .255/.357/.458, 325 AB, 15 HR, 5 SB, 113 wRC+, 3.6 WAR SS Aaron Squire (BH) - .330/.398/.569, 364 AB, 19 HR, 12 SB, 146 wRC+, 3.8 WAR SS Brass Well (NB) - .307/.331/.516, 374 AB, 16 HR, 119 wRC+, 3.7 WAR LF Kasumi Goto (BH)* - .312/.412/.562, 340 AB, 22 HR, 1 SB, 148 wRC+, 3.2 WAR LF Pro Jabonete (CAM) - .294/.364/.579, 354 AB, 21 HR, 3 SB, 139 wRC+, 2.6 WAR LF Makin Jobear (FtH) - .285/.363/.461, 330 AB, 15 HR, 120 wRC+, 1.5 WAR CF Eden Babz (ET)* - .347/.405/.575, 360 AB, 13 HR, 44 SB, 152 wRC+, 6.0 WAR CF Kai Devlin (CON) - .323/.354/.458, 402 AB, 8 HR, 23 SB, 113 wRC+, 3.3 WAR CF Packs Ton Kling (LEX) - .270/.301/.501, 371 AB, 21 HR, 27 SB, 105 wRC+, 3.0 WAR RF Jim Geiger (CAM) - .349/.446/.546, 335 AB, 13 HR, 16 SB, 156 wRC+, 4.0 WAR RF Henry Hampster (STAR) - .298/.347/.453, 349 AB, 14 HR, 111 wRC+, 1.7 WAR RF Hurr Lee Reyes (LEX)* - .356/.436/.648, 270 AB, 17 HR, 17 SB, 175 wRC+, 4.3 WAR (Injured) . The only thing for certain is that with this group of fine all-stars, the fans will really enjoy the show. CBO Players of the Week July 19 - Sunshine Tidings sports fans can't stop singing the praises of Red Jay Jones, who has been selected the North Charles Association Player of the Week. Jones was in a comfort zone all week, finishing with a .609 average (14-for-23), 5 RBIs and 1 home run. So far this season, Jones has gotten 121 hits in 313 at-bats for a .387 batting average with 16 home runs. His stats include 50 RBIs and 56 runs scored. He has played in 79 games. 21-year-old Jets Freud sent shock waves through Commonwealth Baseball Organization last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the South Charles Association Player of the Week Award. A newcomer to the league, Freud made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .381 average, 8 hits in 21 at-bats, 4 home runs and 13 RBI. Where the Southie Brews right fielder goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Freud certainly made his mark last week. Freud is batting .285 this season in 90 games with 18 home runs, 60 RBIs and 48 runs scored. He has 92 hits in 323 at-bats. July 26 - It's always a thrill for fans of the team and students of the game alike when a superstar in the making shows what he's got. Thrifty Iraheta, the County Crossing Bloodbugs 24-year-old left fielder, put himself in the spotlight last week making him the clear-cut choice for North Charles Association Player of the Week honors. He ripped 14 hits in 24 at-bats, compiling a .583 average with 1 home run and 8 RBIs. Iraheta on the season is hitting .311 with 7 home runs. His stats include 35 RBIs and 65 runs scored. Dexion Evicus has the tools to stick in this league for many years. The 23-year-old first baseman of the Oberland T-51s had a hot bat in the South Charles Association over the past seven days and won the Player of the Week honors. Evicus batted .481 with 13 hits in 27 at-bats, 4 home runs and 9 RBIs. In his 2315 season totals, Evicus has 19 home runs, .338 BA, .382 OBP, 67 RBIs and 67 runs scored. August 2 - When it came to hitting the baseball, Clean Blake Dean was in a class by himself in the North Charles Association this past week. Nobody did it better. The outstanding right fielder for Lexington tagged opposing pitchers for a .615 average and was voted the Player of the Week Award. Included in his stats were 8 hits in 13 at-bats, 3 homers, 3 runs scored and 6 RBIs. In this current campaign Dean is hitting at a .351 clip with 5 home runs and 20 RBIs. It was an extraordinary week for Barker Cocoa of the University Point Deathclaws. First he wins the Home Run Derby. Next, he goes on a hot hitting streak, batting .600, then he is voted the Player of the Week in the South Charles Association. Last week Cocoa went 9-for-15, racked up 2 home runs and 6 RBIs and scored 4 runs. It was a heck of a week for the University Point first baseman. Cocoa on the season is hitting .333 with 26 home runs. His stats include 71 RBIs and 70 runs scored. CBO Noteworthy News July 14 - In a move that has fans in both cities buzzing, the Spectacle Island Reapers and the Bunker Hill 75ers have agreed to a deal that will have 30-year old RHP Jalep Temper heading to Bunker Hill in exchange for 26-year old CF Bumpy Redfern, 22-year old minor league LHP Fern Ashcroft, and 21-year old minor league LHP Jairo Lebolo. Provided they pass a physical, the players should be with their respective teams in time for tomorrow's games. This year in 22 starts, Temper has recorded 7 wins and absorbed 7 losses. He has pitched 140.1 innings, allowed 128 hits, struck out 135 and has a 4.10 ERA. Redfern is batting at a .252 pace this season, picking up 83 hits in 329 at-bats with 11 home runs, 43 RBIs and 43 runs scored. July 14 - Jannar Arbor stole the headlines, hitting for the cycle in the 12-6 Concord Radstags win over the Lexington Synths. "Well that was fun, huh?" he said, smiling, after the game. His 4 hits got the Radstags offense going and his 6 RBI and 1 run scored helped to seal the verdict. Jannar Arbor hit an RBI double in the 1st, hit a two-run triple in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Admiral Kelm in the 4th, flied out in the 6th and singled in the 8th. This season, Arbor is batting .292 with 101 hits and 21 home runs. He has scored 54 times and has 81 runs batted in. July 17 - Nordhagen Beach reliever David "AntAgonist" Kidd today confirmed that he will retire at the end of the season. Kidd, who is the only CBO player that is also a regular in the Hubris Comics Universe as the AntAgonizer character, has revealed that he will be featured in his own standalone show where the AntAgonizer changes to aid the Unstoppables against an enemy they have never faced before over a multi-season arc. The AntAgonizer character will thus need a full-time schedule to continue the role. Kidd's CBO nickname came because he could not use the AntAgonizer name in "real life," as a contracted character of the MCU, operated by the famous ghoul, Kent Connolly. Kidd's career stats shape up like this: In 831.2 innings, he has struck out 792, walked 373 and saved 237 games while compiling a 49-51 record and a 4.31 ERA. July 23 - Good Don Duck, welcome to the club -- the 2500-hit club. The Oberland right fielder gained membership in that elite group in a 15-2 victory over the Roxbury Rad Sox at Atomatoys Stadium at Roxbury. 2 hits in 4 at-bats today enabled the T-51s star to reach the milestone. For his 2025-game career Duck has hit .301 with 2501 hits, 1011 RBIs, and 211 home runs. July 28 - Kyle Whitehead has been released as the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud manager. Silver Shroud officials said it is time to make a change and get the club heading in a different direction. The dismissed skipper was philosophical about his fate. "When things don't go right, the first thing management does is get a new manager," he said. "That seems to be the quickest solution to making things better -- or at least, making them seem better. That's just the way baseball is." In his place, the Shroud have hired Zach Toth to take over. Toth, who what the Nordhagen Beach manager from 2306-2313 with a 581-419 record (.581) and three Sole Survivor Series championships, was not renewed following the 2313 season for a rebuild. He took the 2314 season off and had plans to take off the 2315 season, too, with hopes of signing onto a team in 2316. Instead, he takes over a Fort Hagen team that was a disappointing 47-53 at the All-Star Break. July 28 - All-Star Jamaica Plain Red Rockets' left fielder Ken Debate had a night to remember. July 29 - Atoms' star pitcher, Doug Creep, has adopted a new nickname as his official CBO name, K-9. The SCA's strikeout leader with 175, led the SCA last season with 174. His career high was 175 in 2310 in 33 starts. July 30 - What would you do after you had just won your 200th game? Run around Hallucigen Stadium at UP doing cartwheels, jumping for joy and waving to the crowd? Well, maybe you and I would do that, but not Emperry Alizm -- that's not his way. After he notched number 200, the 36-year-old Oberland hurler spoke to the press like he always has -- in a soft, quiet voice. He wasn't doing any cartwheels or even anything resembling a jump for joy. "Obviously it feels very good," Alizm commented. "To win this many games, you've got to have a lot of help." Alizm got his milestone victory by beating the University Point Deathclaws 7-3. He held them to 5 hits in 8 innings and rung up 10 strikeouts with 1 walk. After sharing his thoughts with the press, he went to the clubhouse. There he was greeted by the guys who had helped him get #200. His teammates drenched him and then gave him a rousing round of applause. That got to him -- for the first time today, Alizm's face broke into a big smile. On his lifetime ledger sheet, the 36-year-old Alizm has won 200 and lost 150 with a 3.73 ERA. July 31 - 27-year old C Kinsella Birdwatcher and 23-year old minor league RHP Sham Killarney will now be playing for the Nahant Celtics and 32-year old C Sleve McDichael will be suiting up for the Quincy Gunners. The trade was announced today at a press conference by club officials. Birdwatcher is batting .265 this year with 11 home runs, 58 RBIs and 35 runs scored. He has 81 hits in 306 at-bats. McDichael is hitting .315 this season with 9 home runs, 47 RBIs and 44 runs scored. He has 98 hits in 311 at-bats.

August 2315
BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, CCBL, CYL, and CBA by Nat Wright-Kawolski 5 August 2315 Westing Estate Dominates in Boston Minor Series It was all about winning for the Westing Estate Alphas -- and win they did. There was nothing fancy in how they went about it, players said, they just prepared mentally and physically and then went out and played baseball. "We did the little things right and we did the big things right," said left fielder Kirk Walker, who was named series MVP. "Now we're the league champions." Westing Estate defeated the Union Hope Lifegivers by a score of 7-3 at The Cathedral Diamond to take the series 3-1. "Sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you make your own luck," said Westing Estate manager Frank Hermit. "We got lucky a few times, but mostly we did the right things by being prepared for each game and playing the game the way it's meant to be played." Association Championship - Commonwealth Association It's a sweet sweep for the Westing Estate Alphas and they have won the Association Championship. The Pleasant Lake Patriots were not able to keep pace with the Alphas and dropped the series in short order, losing, 12-4, in the deciding game. "This wasn't really the effort we hoped for," said Pleasant Lake manager Toby Silverbullet. It's now on to the Boston Minor Series for Westing Estate after their 2-0 series win. Leading the way for the winners was left fielder Lil General Johnson, who was named MVP. For the series, Johnson hit .556 with a .556 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 1 runs. The Westing Estate Alphas don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Union Hope Lifegivers - Parsons Asylum Greasers series. That series has not started yet. The Boston Minor Series schedule will be announced after the Association Championship finishes. Association Championship - Massachusetts Association The Union Hope Lifegivers and Parsons Asylum Greasers put on a classic Association Championship that was in question until the final game. In the end, Union Hope won the deciding contest by a score of 10-4, to take the series 2-1. "It doesn't get much tighter than that. To win a series in the last game is a thrill," said Leo Dawn, who earned series MVP honors for Union Hope. "Our guys are breathing a little easier now." For the series, Dawn hit .556 with a .714 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 3 runs. The Union Hope Lifegivers will play against the Westing Estate Alphas in the next round. Westing Estate won their series against the Pleasant Lake Patriots 2 games to 0. The Boston Minor Series schedule will be announced after the Association Championship finishes. Rookie Series Complete: Croup Manor Comes Back Being down 0-2 is a five-game series is probably a series loss. The rookies of Croup Manor disagreed, winning the last three games to claim the 2315 Rookie Series crown. It was a hard-fought battle for both teams to make it this far. But as the saying goes, "to the victors go the spoils." For the victorious Leprechauns, that meant the Greater Boston Rookie League Rookie Series trophy. The Leprechauns took an 8-2 victory over the Waterbury Cola Kings at Croup Manor Ballpark, winning their 1st championship after taking the series 3-2. "We've got grit," said Leprechauns shortstop Phenom Smith, who was named MVP of the series. "We know how to win when we have to." The new titleholders completed the regular season with a first-place finish in the North League Northeast Division and a 57-31 record. North League Championship After their 8-4 win today at Croup Manor Ballpark over the Beantown Brewers, the Croup Manor Leprechauns will advance to the Rookie Series. Croup Manor won the series by a 2-0 margin. Leading the way for the Leprechauns was second baseman Coldfire Trill, who had a spectacular series and was named MVP. "I don't play differently in the regular season or playoffs. I just go out and do my best every game," he said. "It's certainly nice to play in the big game, but you can't let it get to your head and change your focus." The Croup Manor Leprechauns will play against the Waterbury Cola Kings in the next round. Waterbury won their series against the Murkwater Animal Friends 2 games to 0. The Rookie Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship finishes. South League Championship With a 7-5 victory at Murkwater Elevated Field, the Waterbury Cola Kings have completed a sweep of the Murkwater Animal Friends in the League Championship. "On to the Rookie Series and feeling good," said Hananiah Leo. "I don't think our guys expected a sweep, but we'll certainly take it and rest up a bit." For the series, Leo hit .556 and won series MVP honors. He had 3 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 4 runs. The Waterbury Cola Kings don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Beantown Brewers - Croup Manor Leprechauns series. That series has not started yet. The Rookie Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship finishes.

August 2315
BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, CCBL, and CYL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 16 August 2315 CBO Analysis We are now down to the final stretch of games, with two weeks and 13 per team left to play. Three teams--Starlight, Egret, and Goodneighbor--have been eliminated from contention, while no teams have yet to clinch a spot. That could change as early as tomorrow with Lexington having a Magic # of 2 to clinch a spot. Other teams will have to wait at least a few days with Vault 81 the closest in clinching a spot in the SCA, nine games up on Oberland as the current 7th seed. We will break down the playoff race in each league along with discussing who we think will meet in the Sole Survivor Series. Here are the current team power rankings for the Commonwealth Baseball Organization: Teams (Total Points, Tendency): 1) Vault 81 Dwellers (115.6, +) 2) Salem Witch Hats (107.2, ++) 3) Lexington Synths (106.6, -) 4) Atom Cats (105.6, +) 5) Diamond City Swatters (103.8, -) 6) Quincy Gunners (101.5, ++) 7) University Point Deathclaws (101.2, --) 8) Glowing Sea Radscorpions (99.5, +) 9) Malden Grognaks (96.4, ++) 10) Roxbury Rad Sox (96.3, ++) 11) Bunker Hill 75ers (95.8, o) 12) Easy Town Assaultrons (95.8, --) 13) FHE Yao Guai (93.2, ++) 14) Concord Radstags (92.3, --) 15) Southie Brews (91.7, +) 16) Jamaica Plain Red Rockets (88.7, -) 17) Spectacle Island Reapers (86.5, ++) 18) Oberland T-51s (85.8, --) 19) The Slog Ghouls (84.3, --) 20) Fort Hagen Silver Shroud (84.2, -) 21) Cambridge Coursers (81.6, --) 22) Nahant Celtics (78.9, ++) 23) Egret Ninjas (76.4, -) 24) Sunshine Tidings Chemists (75.9, o) 25) Goodneighbor Hancocks (72.4, +) 26) Nordhagen Beach Party Boys (71.5, --) 27) County Crossing Bloodbugs (66.4, --) 28) Starlight Killers (64.7, o) Brotherhood League Salem had a long stretch of being cold and seeing their BL lead dwindle, but at 6-4 in their last 10, the Witch Hats now have a comfortable seven-game lead, tied for the CBO's largest league lead. Malden and Easy Town are both over .500 and likely will see their names on the Playoff Tree when the regular season ends. The Slog is currently tied with Concord for the 6th playoff spot at 58-59, while all of Nahant, Nordhagen Beach, and County Crossing are probably out. In the battle for the 3rd or 4th spot in the NCA, both the Grognaks and Assaultrons can consider themselves to be in a safe place for now unless both the Ghouls and Radstags get hot. However, both Malden and the Trons have only four games remaining at home. The Grognaks have three-straight three-game road series at Quincy, Nordhagen Beach, and County Crossing before hosting the Party Boys and The Slog. Easy Town visits Atom, the Ghouls, and Goodneighbor before hosting The Slog and County Crossing in two-game sets. Advantage: Malden. The Hats are one back of Lexington for the #1 overall seed. They have two-straight road series at University Point and Nahant, before having their last seven at home against the Boys, the Celtics, and Starlight. Prediction: #1 seed. The Slog's chase for the 6th spot may be tough with seven of their remaining games coming against playoff teams from the BL. The Ghouls visit Spectacle Island, host the Trons, visit Nahant, and then finish at both Easy Town and the Grognaks. Prediction: 6-7 finish, 7th seed. Institute League Lexington maintains the NCA's top seed for now despite being less hot after their 10-game winning streak finished. The Synths are still tied for the CBO's top record with Vault 81, which is probably the CBO's second-hottest team. With a seven-game lead over Bunker Hill, Lexington is probably going to cruise to the IL title for the second-straight season. After the 75ers, Concord, Cambridge, Fort Hagen, Sunshine Tidings, and Starlight make up the rest of the pack. Only the Stags have a shot. For the Synths, we are picking them to finish as the #2 seed, though we still have them winning the title in 2315. Part of that reason is a nine-game road stretch at Oberland, Cambridge, and the 75ers before costing the Coursers and Chemists to finish the season. Bunker Hill is likely to finish as the #3 seed with a road trip to FHE, a visit from the Deathclaws, home series against the Synths and Bloodbugs, and then a visit to Concord. For the Radstags, they do not have it easy but may be better off in scheduling than The Slog. After visiting Roxbury for three, the Stags host Sunshine Tidings, visit Egret and the Chemists, and then host the 75ers to close the season. Prediction: 8-5, 6th seed. Minutemen League After going 3-7 in their past 10, the Claws are scratching the surface of falling from the potential 1-seed to the 3-seed. Atom has been hot for a while and now trails by just one game heading into the final two weeks. Quincy is still very much in serious playoff contention, while all of Southie, Jamaica Plain, and the Reapers just do not have what it takes to get over the ,500 hump. The Hancocks are eliminated. The biggest battle will be between the Claws and Cats. Both have tough slates to finish with their remaining opponents having .512 and .513 winning percentages, respectively. University Point has a series against Salem, visits Bunker Hill for three, hosts Spectacle Island, visits Diamond City, and then visits Goodneighbor. Atom has a home series against the Assaultrons, travels to Southie, hosts the Gunners and then the Brews, and then travels to Roxbury. Prediction: UP 8-5, Atom 9-4. Since the Claws won the season series, 7-3, University Point then would host the tiebreaker game. We think the Cats take that one and clinches the #2 seed. We also think that Atom represents the SCA in the Sole Survivor Series. The Deathclaws would fall to the #3 seed. In the battle for the 4th seed, Quincy has held their own and currently hold the tiebreaker advantage over the Radscorpions. Where the Gunners may struggle to maintain that spot comes from the second-toughest remaining schedule of the current 4th-8th seeds, a .506 opponents remaining record. Oberland has it toughest with a .560 remaining opponents' record! For the Gunners to clinch at least the 6th seed, then, they just need to hold off Roxbury. Quincy's last five series are hosting Malden and the Reapers, visiting Atom and Spectacle Island, and then hosting Southie. Prediction: 6-7, 6th seed. Railroad League Vault 81 has now vaulted itself up to a tie for the CBO's top record, something we really did not expect to see in 2315. With a 7-3 run in their last 10, only Diamond City has been hotter in the CBO. With a six-game lead over Glowing Sea, the Dwellers are likely to clinch their third-straight RL title by this week or next. The Radscorpions currently sit in as the 4th seed, tied with the Gunners, with the Swatters as the 6th seed. The T-51s and Roxbury are right on their heels, while the Yao Guai and Ninjas are out of it. FHE is still technically alive but cannot make up the games needed with the jumble around the 6th spot. The Dwellers do not have the easiest final schedule, but we think they will do enough against Sunshine Tidings, at Oberland and the Swatters, and then home series against the T-51s and Scorpions to clinch the #1 seed. Other than their final visit to Vault 81, Glowing Sea has the easiest remaining schedule and have our pick to clinch the 4-seed. They host the Silver Shroud, travel to Egret and the Yao Guai, and then host the Ninjas before they go to the Dwellers. While Diamond City has been the CBO's hottest team, including going 8-2 in their last 10, we think they fall just short of the Radscorpions and finish as the 5th seed. The Swatters host the Killers, travel to County Crossing, host the Dwellers and Claws in five-straight home games, and then finish at Egret. CBO Standings CBO Pennant Chase CBO Players of the Week August 9 - One of the league's most exciting young players, Mike Fountaineau of the Concord Radstags earned himself North Charles Association Player of the Week honors with a standout performance in last week's games. For the week the 22-year-old third baseman had a lofty .500 average (12-for-24), collecting 3 home runs, 14 RBIs and 7 runs scored. Currently Fountaineau is batting .248 with 12 home runs and 52 RBIs. When it came to hitting the baseball, Alloy Jordan was in a class by himself in the South Charles Association this past week. Nobody did it better. The outstanding left fielder for Glowing Sea tagged opposing pitchers for a .417 average and was voted the Player of the Week Award. Included in his stats were 10 hits in 24 at-bats, 2 homers, 8 runs scored and 5 RBIs. Looking at his stats this year, Jordan has compiled a .276 batting average, while hitting 11 home runs and driving in 51 runs. He has played in 106 games and scored 67 runs. August 16 - Matt Paydirt demonstrated his potential to be a star in the game last week and today he took home the North Charles Association Player of the Week Award. The Nahant first baseman wreaked havoc on opposing pitchers last week, pounding them for a .577 average (15-for-26) with 4 home runs and 9 RBIs on his way to claiming the honor. So far this season, Paydirt is hitting .312 with 19 home runs. It was an extraordinary week for Donovan Mackey of the Spectacle Island Reapers. First he goes on a hot hitting streak, batting .632, then he is voted the Player of the Week in the South Charles Association. Last week Mackey went 12-for-19, racked up no home runs and 6 RBIs and scored 3 runs. It was a heck of a week for the Spectacle Island third baseman. So far this year, Mackey is batting .351 with 19 home runs and 74 RBIs. CBO Noteworthy News August 3 - History was made today at Vim! Park of Salem -- Jaa Thirtysix won game #150 to seal his name in the league record books. The Salem ace downed the County Crossing Bloodbugs 4-0 to gain entrance into the elite 150 Club. "I was wound up at first. I think I threw too hard," remarked Thirtysix, "I had to calm down and go out there and pitch... not just throw. I think I got better as the game wore on. I started to think less about 150 wins and more about doing what I had to do." His career record is 150 victories and 127 defeats. Thirtysix also has struck out 1883 batters and compiled a 3.87 ERA. August 7 - The speculation as to who will be the number one pick can now officially begin. Earlier today, the Commonwealth Baseball Organization published its list of players eligible for the annual rookie draft. For the next thirty days, scouts will be busy studying this untested talent in order to come up with a list of names to recommend that their clubs pursue. But just who those picks will be won't be known until the draft is conducted next month. A section on the potential draftees has been added to the Transaction section of the BNN site, which will be available for 90 days before the draft takes place. The early favorites to be high picks are the following: 1. Cajun Darri, 17 year-old 2B out of high-school. 2. Ash Ledbetter, 16 year-old 2B out of high-school. 3. Spud Sewell, 20 year-old SS out of college. 4. Haystack Black, 20 year-old 1B out of college. 5. Mike Searocker, 17 year-old LHP out of high-school. 6. D'avery Blueprint, 20 year-old LF out of college. 7. Jag Jouan, 20 year-old 1B out of college. 8. Fab Ringo, 17 year-old 1B out of high-school. 9. O'Day Gabby, 17 year-old 1B out of high-school. 10. Rukiya Simamba, 17 year-old 2B out of high-school. August 11 - FHE ace Lawdog Whipple solidified his place in league history with his 150th career victory today at Coolest Field in Town. Whipple and the Yao Guai bested Atom 8-5. He checked the Cats on 7 hits in 7 innings and finished the day with 6 strikeouts and 2 walks. "I've worked hard for this day," Whipple said. "Sometimes I didn't think it would happen. Most of the time it seemed so far off. Now it's here. It's like a dream!" So far in Whipple's career, the 36-year-old starter has won 150 and lost 139, collecting 1680 strikeouts with a 4.44 ERA. Opponents have hit .265 against him. August 12 - Party Boys ace Ugio Church reeled in his 200th career victory by beating the Starlight Killers 3-1 at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium. In his historic win, he notched 9 strikeouts in 8 innings, yielded 1 run and 11 hits, while surrendering 2 walks. "I tried to focus on each batter," said Church after the game, "but as the game goes by, I couldn't help but think about the possibility. 200 is a big number. It's an exclusive club and I'm honored to be a member." Church has posted 200 victories and 140 defeats in his career with a 3.82 ERA. He also has fanned 2100 batters in 3097 innings and given up 3129 hits. He becomes just the seventh player in CBO history with 200 career wins. CBO Prospect Pipeline With the minor leagues' regular season concluded, teams in the CBO have the option of calling up a few players this week for a little work at the CBO level. Teams in the pennant chase may not take advantage of the expanded rosters, but some of the teams out of playoff contention may want to get their prospects some major league work. Here is a list of the Top 25 prospects and what they have done at their main minor league level in the 2315 season.

---------------------------------------------------------- Nuka News Update Reporting on the NWL and APL by Evan Guy 19 August 2315 Grape, Cherry to Nuka Series The Grape Painted Ghouls and the Cherry Ghoulrillas are division champions in 2315 and will face off in the Nuka Series starting on Saturday. The Ghoulrillas will host the first two games. Cherry had to overcome a South Bradberton Division deficit to Orange to win the division by two games. This marks the Ghoulrillas' fourth-straight division title and ninth overall. They have previously won the Nuka Series four times: 2303, 2306, 2307, and 2312. The Painted Ghouls won the North Bradberton Division by a game over Quantum. It is the first time Grape has won their division since 2307 and the third time in team history. Their lone Nuka Series title came in 2301 as the runners-up to Orange when there was only one division. The Painted Ghouls won the series over the Tourists, 4-3, that season. The APL also closed out its season yesterday, though neither the North nor South divisions were close. The Red Rocket Radrats secure the best overall record at 38-22, seven games up on both the Nuka Jolly Elves and Nuka Bottling Plant Pack. In the South, the Grandchester Flying Ants won the division by six games over the Nuka Plant Electrics. ---------------------------------------------------------- Vim! View News of the Vim! League and Its Affiliates by Jimmy Gresham 19 August 2315 Dalton Farm, Far Harbor to Series The Dalton Farm Fog Crawlers may have cooled off as of late, but they were good enough to win the Fog Division in 2315. They will now face the red-hot Far Harbor Ghoul Whales, winners of the Harbor Division, in the 15th Vim! Series. Dalton won the Vim! Series four times, all from 2303-2306. This marks their first division title since 2308 and their sixth overall. The Crawlers topped the National Park Gulpers by four games. The Gwhales were able to pull away from Cranberry Island, which was seeking its first-ever trip to the playoffs. Far Harbor ended up winning by four games when they went 8-2 in the last 10 regular-season games, while the Hermit Crabs finished 3-7, overcoming a one-game deficit with 10 to play. This marks Far Harbor's seventh division title, also the number of appearances for them in the Vim! Series, with their last appearance in 2312. They only won it all once, 2301, the inaugural season of the Vim! League. MDIL Analysis There was little drama in the Mount Desert Island League as both the Cliff''s Edge Actors and MS Azalea Shipwrecks cruised to titles in the Small Bertha and Old Longfellow divisions. causing a rematch of the 2314 Mount Desert Island Series. This will be the fourth time and second-straight trip to the Series for the Actors; they won it all in 2312. The Wrecks are here for the third-straight year, both titles, and seventh overall. They have won four times.

August 2315
BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, CCBL, CYL, and CBA by Nat Wright-Kawolski 25 August 2315 CBO Down to the Final Five Games With five more games to play, each association has three teams that they know are in, and six more teams per association are still alive for the last three slots. In the NCA, Lexington and Salem have clinched their league titles, while Easy Town is the only team to have secured a wildcard spot. Bunker Hill has a Magic # of 1, Malden has a Magic # of 2, and Concord has a Magic # of 3, with The Slog currently occupying the 7th spot. In the SCA, Vault 81 has clinched its league title, but University Point and Atom have only a two-game difference for the right to the ML crown. Both have clinched at least a wildcard spot, and the Deathclaws have a Magic # of 4 for the title. Quincy has a Magic # of 3, and both Diamond City and Glowing Sea have a Magic # of 4, with Oberland two back of each of them in the 7th spot. MML Massachusetts Minor Series: Covenant in Five It was a hard-fought battle for both teams to make it this far. But as the saying goes, "to the victors go the spoils." For the victorious Covenant Refractors, that meant the Massachusetts Minor League Massachussetts Minor Series trophy. The Refractors took an 8-2 victory over the Dedham Bombers at Synth Sympathy Center Field, winning their 1st championship after taking the series 3-2. "We've got grit," said Refractors second baseman Harrington Kingsley IV, who was named MVP of the series. "We know how to win when we have to." The new titleholders completed the regular season with a first-place finish in the Legends League Wade Boggs Division and a 72-36 record. MML Legends League Championship The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat were on full display tonight at Super Mutants Park as the League Championship Series stretched to the final game. It was the Covenant Refractors feeling the thrill of victory, with a 8-3 win over the Bedford Super Mutants, who were feeling the devastation of coming up short in their quest to make the Massachusetts Minor Series. "There's no way around it -- this sucks," said Bedford manager Jared Pterror. "Congratulations to Covenant, but I won't sugarcoat it, no one is happy about anything that transpired here tonight." Instrumental in the 2-1 series win was third baseman Henry Parnell, who was named MVP. He hit .455 with a .571 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 1 RBI and scored 2 runs. "We've got the most important stat of all and that's this final win -- that's the one that matters," he said. The Covenant Refractors will play against the Dedham Bombers in the next round. Dedham won their series against the Hull Lead Bellies 2 games to 0. The Massachusetts Minor Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes. MML Stars League Championship The Dedham Bombers have cruised through the League Championship Series, easily sweeping away the Hull Lead Bellies by a count of 2-0. The final blow came with a 4-3 triumph at Hull Oceanside Stadium, which sends Dedham on to the Massachussetts Minor Series. "There's a lot of focus from our team right now, up and down that bench and in the clubhouse," said Izzy Wedding. For the series, Wedding had a 0.00 ERA over 6 innings pitched, with a 1-0 record. He was named series MVP for his efforts. The Dedham Bombers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Bedford Super Mutants - Covenant Refractors series. That series has not started yet. The Massachusetts Minor Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.

August 2315
BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, CCBL, CYL, and CBA by Nat Wright-Kawolski 30 August 2315 Worcester Takes NEBL Title in Six The Worcester faithful were cheering in the streets, and Burlington fans wiping away the tears, after the Cannons won the New England Series at Milton General Stadium today. The Cannons clinched it by knocking off the Ferals 5-3 to take their 3rd New England Baseball League crown. Worcester took the series 4-2. "This club never gave up all year long," Worcester manager Ryan Szymanowski told the press. "They believed they could win the title and they did." On the way to the New England Series title, Worcester compiled a 62-46 won-loss record and finished first in the Yankee League Connri Division. "We just didn't play well enough to win," Ferals manager Isaiah Boy said. "We just didn't make the big plays like they did."

September 2315
BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, CCBL, CYL, and CBA by Nat Wright-Kawolski 1 September 2315 NCA Regular Season Ends, Lexington and Vault 81 Atop Associations The 2315 regular season has concluded, and just as PAM predicted, both the Lexington Synths and Vault 81 Dwellers enter the postseason as the top seeds. Salem and University Point are the other association winners. In the NCA, wildcards are Easy Town, Bunker Hill, Malden, and Concord in that order of seeding. In the SCA, Atom, Diamond City, Glowing Sea, and Quincy make up the wildcard slots. All wildcards play in the Wildcard Round with league winners waiting in the Association Semifinals. Yesterday, the Radstags defeated The Slog, 6-4, to clinch the final playoff spot. They finished at 64-67. Mike Fountaineau led the way by going 3 for 3 with a double, home run, walk, a run, and two RBI. Three-time All-Star Bobby Carvajal (4-1, 3.51) got the win in just his fourth start of the season. CBO Statistical Leaders Hitting Pitching CBO Players of the Month NCA Hitter - When Matt Paydirt stepped up to the plate in August he did it with confidence, and today he was honored with the North Charles Association Batter of the Month award. The young Nahant first baseman posted a .394 batting average with 11 home runs, 30 RBIs and scored 20 runs. Paydirt also worked pitchers for 5 walks to post a .427 on-base percentage. In this current campaign Paydirt is hitting at a .316 clip with 26 home runs and 89 RBIs. SCA Hitter - Ken Debate battered South Charles Association pitchers all August and wound up taking home the Batter of the Month Award. "I've been around Commonwealth Baseball Organization long enough to know you really have to work hard day in and day out to be able to put up this kind of consistency," the 30-year-old Debate told reporters. "I put in a lot of work, even on the days I might not take the field, and it's always nice when everything comes together for me like it did this last month." In 25 games, Debate hit .383 with 9 home runs, 20 RBIs and scored 19 runs. Batting .296 to date, Debate has 30 home runs and 72 RBIs. NCA Pitcher - The Easy Town Assaultrons celebrated today after the news filtered through the clubhouse that Lonely Gale had been selected as August's North Charles Association Pitcher of the Month. Gale's zest for the game has been a frequent topic on the sports pages and his numbers of late have made his fans even more enthusiastic. Gale is making a comeback after missing all of 2313 and 2314. "Our coaching staff really helps me prepare well," Gale said, "and the fans feed off good pitching. Your pitches just seem to have that extra pop to them when the fans are behind you and you feel confident you can get outs." Gale tossed 55.2 innings last month, holding opponents to a .204 average while striking out 60 batters. In 7 starting assignments he came away with a 6-1 record, putting together an ERA of 2.26. His record this season is 15-11 in 32 starts and Gale has a 3.73 ERA. SCA Pitcher - When the Cats skipper wrote Williams on the lineup card, it was a bad omen for the opposition. Outing after outing in August he took command and usually got the win. He dominated with a 5-1 mark and 2.06 ERA in 6 starts. The gifted Cats star pitched 48 innings, fanned 42 and held opposing teams to a .236 average. For his excellent mound work Williams was named the SCA Pitcher of the Month by the baseball writers. This year, Williams has worked 245.1 innings with 186 strikeouts en route to a 15-7 record and 3.78 ERA. NCA Rookie - Builder Andria's eyes seem to light up whenever he sees the baseball. The young Nahant center fielder has been hitting everything in sight for the better part of a month. In August he was voted the Rookie of the Month. During the month he hit .437 with 7 doubles, 1 triple and 7 home runs. Andria also scored 15 times and drove in 21 runs. Andria is hitting .336 in 2315 with 51 RBIs and 13 home runs. SCA Rookie - Youngster Honker Trinkl emerged as the latest South Charles Association Rookie of the Month today. The young man from Roxbury deserved the honor, batting .333 with 6 home runs and 21 RBI. Is the month of August a harbinger of things to come or just a fluke? We'll find out someday, but for now, we'll just let Trinkl enjoy the limelight. Trinkl is hitting .345 this season with 29 home runs, 70 RBIs and 92 runs scored. He has 141 hits in 409 at-bats. August Top Performances Hitting - It was noweher near Odd Todd Walker's season-best score of 135 on May 28, but Bunker Hill's Zod Gaycey had the top August hitting performance with 101 points. Gaycey finished 4 for 5 with a double, a home run, four runs, and five RBI in the 75ers' 9-7 win over Concord on August 28. Pitching - Two players tied for August's top performance, each with a game score of 89. On August 6, Spectacle Island's Aqua Purified pitched the Reapers to a 5-1 victory over Southie. Purified pitched 8.0 innings, allowing one unearned run on one hit with two walks and 13 strikeouts. Nordhagen Beach's Mister Burns then tied that game score on August 21 when he pitched a complete-game two-hitter. In the 99-pitch affair, Burns allowed no runs, walked a batter, and struck out seven in the Party Boys' 5-0 victory over Malden. CBO Players of the Week August 23 - What's in a number? In baseball, just about everything. The numbers that Nahant's Builder Andria put up last week were the envy of the league, as Andria came away with North Charles Association Player of the Week honors. He belted out 10 hits in 15 at-bats, 3 home runs and 9 RBIs last week as he posted his .667 batting average. This year, Andria is batting .332 with 71 hits and 10 home runs. He has scored 33 times and has batted in 44 runs. Pop Dylan demonstrated his potential to be a star in the game last week and today he took home the South Charles Association Player of the Week Award. The University Point left fielder wreaked havoc on opposing pitchers last week, pounding them for a .500 average (10-for-20) with 1 home run and 10 RBIs on his way to claiming the honor. Currently Dylan is batting .313 with 12 home runs, 61 RBIs and 36 runs scored.

CBO Playoffs 2315
BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, CCBL, CYL, and CBA by Nat Wright-Kawolski 2 September 2315 SCA Playoffs Preview - Wildcard Round #5 Glowing Sea Radscorpions (69-61) vs #4 Diamond City Swatters (71-59) Season Series: Diamond City 5, Glowing Sea 5 May 10-12 @DC: DC 1-0, DC 8-0, GS 8-4 June 26-27 @DC: DC 8-6. GS 8-6 July 16-18 @GS: GS 8-0, GS 7-4, GS 4-3 August 7-8 @GS: DC 4-3, DC 1-0 Analysis During the regular season, these two teams were even with a bit of streakiness. The Scorpions had the longest winning streak of four games, but Diamond City took the last two at Glowing Sea in August, making the ultimate difference in seeding. Glowing Sea was the first of the expansion teams to earn a playoff spot in 2313 when they finished 72-58 and entered as the 4th seed. Last sesaon, they finished just one game back of Oberland for the 6th seed. The league was a bit more balanced this season, so despite the record drop at 69-61, the Radscorpions were still able to clinch the 5th seed. On offense, the Scorpions do not appear to be a playoff team, finishing 13th in runs scored (600), average (.267), and home runs (113). The roster is extremely top-heavy with stars CF Enigma Montgomery (.338/21/87) and RF Naga Arakaki (.341/19/88) being the only two to bat over .300. C Yvuh Jet (.233/22/85) was the most productive power hitter. Pitching, at least the starters, have been much better, finishing 5th in runs allowed (582) and 3rd in Starters ERA (4.12). Despite the records not being great, Alex Language (15-12, 3.38) and Jesh Baka (8-5, 3.48) had sub-4.00 ERAs. Second starter, Cutter Redman (11-11, 4.51), will need to do better to give the Radscorpions a good chance. The same goes for CL Mar Gotfenning (26 SV, 3.99). From 2298-2304, Diamond City was one of the premier teams, making the playoffs each year and winning back-to-back championships in 2299 and 2300. Now, the Swatters are in the playoffs for the third-straight season after eight years of no trips. With a balance of youngsters and veterans, this team has a chance based on how well they may match up with other playoff teams. The Swatters offense was not its strength, finishing 8th in runs scored (639). Part of that was finishing 11th in home runs (119) despite being 3rd in both average (.283) and OBP (.344). Veteran RF Magnum Peaeye (.280/22/70) was the most productive power hitter despite rumors that he might be dealt arund the trade deadline. 2B Alex Bragman (,276/10.47) had an injury-marred 2315 that saw him play in only 76 games. LF Todd Smithfield led the team in average (.319). Pitching is the key to Diamond City's championship aspirations, finishing 2nd in runs allowed (564) and Starters ERA (3.86). The three-headed monster of Macho Lopez (18-9, 2.63), Beachboy Nut (13-8, 3.99), and Heaven Fontenot (12-12, 3.90) are a challenge for any opponent. SP Elastic Man Haley (13-13, 4.93) was not a great starter but will move into the closer role in the postseason and may be an emergency starter role if needed. Prediction While the season series was even, Diamond City went 19-8 in August, while the Scorpions finished 12-15, showing two teams heading in opposite directions toward the end of the season. We think the Swatters are dangerous entering the playoffs, while Glowing Sea is happy to be here to collect a few more caps. Diamond City 2, Glowing Sea 0 #6 Quincy Gunners (69-61) vs #3 Atom Cats (75-55) Season Series: Quincy 6, Atom 4 April 5-6 @Atom: Atom 5-3, Qui 4-2 (10) June 1-3 @Qui: Atom 15-7, Qui 5-4, Qui 4-3 July 22-23 @Qui: Qui 7-3, Qui 13-6 August 23-24 @Atom: Atom 6-5 (10), Qui 8-6 Analysis Despite Atom finishing six games better than Quincy, it was the Gunners that won the regular season series. In the end, the Cats' charge to win the Minuteman League fell short, leading to this ML Wildcard Round matchup. Quincy went cold in their last 10 games (3-7) but were still able to hold on to a repeat visit to the playoffs, just their fifth trip in team history. Last season, the Gunners were the surprising ML champions, but they are now the 6th seed. Statistically, the Gunners should not be here. On offense, they finished 9th in runs scored (615) with OBP (.337) being their best stat at 7th in the SCA. The big move for Quincy was the acquisition of C Sleve McDichael (.320/11/59), who has helped to boost the offense. 2B Will Hell (.298/11/40) is the best player but only played in 83 games on the season because of injury. On the mound, the Gunners are not much better, finishing 8th in runs allowed (648) and Starters ERA (4.60) and 7th in Bullpen ERA (4.49). Kids Boots Appling (13-6, 3.33) will be a tough out in Game 1, and College Luckyman (15-9) could make the difference if they reach Game 3. Atom is now in their third-straight playoff appearance with an ML championship in 2313 and then two-straight seasons of finishing a game back. In 2313, the season turned out to be special, as the Cats downed Nahant for the Sole Survivor Series championship. Where the Gunners' stats are down, Atom has championship-caliber stats. On offense, the Cats finished 3rd in runs scored (688) despite not having the best average (.275), OBP (.342), nor home runs (147) total. Two players who popped in 2315 were 2B Lee Mayhew (.311/27/86) and C Tawfiq Kibowen (.292/26/90). RF Candy Kline (.331/16/70/14 SB) was perhaps the best leadoff hitter in the CBO. Pitching was really good, finishing 3rd in runs allowed (565), 1st in Starters ERA (3.86), and 5th in Bullpen ERA (4.35). The top three starters are K-9 Creep (17-10, 4.10), Josh Brown (14-9, 3.87), and Mesquite Williams (15-7, 3.78) can shut down any team on any given start. SP Lacky Luster (11-11, 3.63) drops into the bullpen and immediately boosts that squad. Prediction We have no doubt that Atom is a legitimate championship contender, and we actually have them as our pick to win it all. They have been consistent winners and a squad that is used to winning at this level. Quincy may have been in the Sole Survivor Series a year ago, but they do not appear to be the same team in 2315. Atom 2, Quincy 0
