Paul Berlenbach at HW
Hello, it has been awhile since I posted on the board although I have been following the threads lately. Just had a lot of family and personal issues that I had to deal with and didn't have the time. Good to see so many long-time forum members still on the board. Was just wondering if anybody had a file for Paul Berlenbach at HW? I had a file created by somebody awhile back but I found that it was missing from my HW database. I remember that there were three files created at the time by a person who adjusted LH's Maxim, Berlenbach and Lesnevich, if I remember correctly. Thanks in advance.

LHs vs HW
Paul Berlenbach very rarely fought somebody who was a legitimate heavyweight. He lost 10 to Johnny Risko against his only name HVY opponent. He campaigned strictly as a LHW. He also dabbled in Professional Wrestling. Below, however, is how I would have rated Paul if he did foolishly invade the HW division. Joey Maxim has a listing in the data pool as a HW. I rated Lesnevich as a HW earlier in this thread but here he is again.

Hi John,
Dan Rafael came out with his annual "prospect of the year" and listed other future stars. From what I gather, through the db updates and your ratings, there are some prospects that exist and some that don't. The fighters not in the database include - Saul Alvarez (19, welterweight, Tuto Zabala Jr.'s All-Star Boxing, 30-0-1, 22 KOs) Chris Avalos (20, bantamweight, Gary Shaw, 14-0, 11 KOs) Danny Garcia (21, junior welterweight, Golden Boy, 15-0, 10 KOs) Miguel Angel "Mikey" Garcia (22, featherweight, Top Rank, 19-0, 16 KOs) Frankie Gavin (24, junior welterweight, Frank Warren, 5-0, 5 KOs) Omar Henry (22, junior middleweight, Top Rank, 7-0, 6 KOs) Marcus Johnson (24, super middleweight, Lou DiBella/Antonio Leonard, 18-0, 14 KOs) Matvey Korobov (26, middleweight, Top Rank, 9-0, 7 KOs) David Lemieux (21, middleweight, Yvon Michel, 20-0, 20 KOs) Roberto Marroquin - (20, junior featherweight, Top Rank, 11-0, 8 KOs) Shawn Porter (22, junior middleweight, Prize Fight, 12-0, 10 KOs) Rico Ramos (22, junior featherweight, Dan Goossen, 14-0, 8 KOs) Edwin Rodriguez (24, super middleweight, Lou DiBella, 13-0, 9 KOs) Odlanier Solis (29, heavyweight, Top Rank/Arena Box, 15-0, 11 KOs) The article is here - Dan Rafael: Daniel Jacobs is ESPN.com's Prospect of the Year - ESPN Perhaps you could take a look at it and see what you can do with rating some of these guys? Thanks, John and please, no hurry! |

prospects
I know I've rated some of them on this or other threads. Saul Alvarez for instance. I will add the names to my list for perusal.

Prospects
Are these 2010 fighters? If so I probably rated none of them.

Solis and Jacobs have been included for 6 months or so. Generally, a male fighter must have at least ten bouts to be included in the database. I don't generally rate someone until he fights someone decent and cracks the first page of the boxrec ratings for his weight class. Female boxers must have at least 5 in most cases. Exceptions are if a boxer fights for a world title before reaching the above mentioned number of fights. This recently happened with a LHW but doesn't happen often.

rating
That's a good policy for the data base but I just rate whoever attracts my attention no matter what. I figure a fighter can be modified later but at least you have his name and boxrec info already posted saving some effort for future updates.

Ted "Kid" Lewis
Thanks for the ratings John. Had another request when you have some spare time. Ted "Kid" Lewis fought in several weight classes (from ww to hw) and I was wondering if you had a rating for him in the HW division. The database has him as a "10" for ww and I have an imported rating from someone as a "4" at hw.

Thanks bear. I miss running the universe, I know that you had just started to get involved. Just ran into an unexpected problem that has taken up a great percentage of my time and finances. Hope all is well with you.

Dave Sands
Another file that someone created and I cannot find. I know Sands is in the db for lower weight classes, but he also won the Australian LHW and HW titles, so I was wondering if you could do a rating for him at the HW division? I know he didn't make his hay in the heavies but would like a file anyways, thanks.

adieu
It is with regret that I announce that this is my final posting on this forum. My goal of resurrecting all of the forgotten fighters from earlier versions of the game has been achieved. I'd like to thank everyone who appreciated my hard work. I would especially like to thank Bear and Ice tea who came to regard as friends. Further, I would like to publically apologize to everyone who I ever offended with my strong opinions, occasional tactlessness, and lack of political correctness. I certainly do not habitually offend people in my private life. I would also like to apologize to those who have asked me to rate fighters for them. This was something that, in spite of my innate boorishness, I was always happy to do. Now someone else will have to grant your requests. I have other projects that I've neglected that I would now like to turn my full attention. I may still lurk but my contributions to this forum end with this posting. TBCB is a great game and Boxing is a great sport!
