For some reason my Jack Harper didn't look like your Before image, but like the Healthier-Zombie-But-Unhealthy-Human I posted above. I did tell the game to force update all facegens after putting in the latest full pack, but maybe there was an older one taking precedence.

EDIT: I see my issue. I was using harper003joh instead of harper003cha.

Grady Little

In retrospect, you should have pulled Pedro. It retro-retrospect, it all worked out and I wouldn't have the next year go any other way.

Ray Miller (as coach/manager)

"Pitching is an elevated game of catch. There’s just you and the catcher. And maybe one other person, the batter. And maybe 50,000 people in the stands. But never mind everybody else." - Ray Miller

Like Grady Little, using his First_Last name fg naming convention so it tags to the non-layer version of themselves.

Younger Barry Bonds

"I never stop looking for things to try and make myself better." - Barry Bonds

I wish he had stopped looking. This is him as a Pirate which I think is akin to his early Giants visage. His weight in OOTP will bloat him if I try to make his facegen face any thinner (the game adds bloat if the facegen doesn't have it inherently), so I tried to compensate with the jawline and other tricks in the fg software. Hopefully this works at the default game weight. Rename the facegen to whatever alt naming convention you use for variances and ensure it matches the Historical Minors ID in the player editor, so it loads this one instead of my default one when he was a 700-HR hitter.

This is another case where I suspect that my force reload of all faces didn't pull the correct or updated file. I wonder if the game is looking at the wrong filename from the player profile.

Tangential dumb question: is there setting to turn off the auto-append number to a filename in Windows 11 if the file already exists? I just want a simple (Replace? Y/N) option instead of having to get rid of the ' (1)' or whatever the number may be in the file name.

I've never found the force load function to work well. After a certain point and time, if it is a long-running save, it can be good to clear the cache.

The player facegen itself loads just once, so it is saved in a particular save's cache. That cache is located in the saved games folder (go to Settings from the Start Screen, at the pop-up pick troubleshooting, open saved games folder). Once you open the .lg folder, go to news, html, images, profile_pictures. See the cached facegen png files there? Select all AND then unselect the “default_profile_picture” (to keep it) and delete those cached facegen png files.

Then the next time you open a player, the game will check the fg_files folder as if it were the first time and pull the latest fg to create a new cache file for that player.

On the saving issue, when downloading from the board here, don't save it direct to the fg_files folder as that will trigger a PC to see the dupe and add the (1). Save it to the regular old download folder and then drag it into the fg_files folder of the game, that should trigger Windows to ask what you want to do, and you can select replace.

Lans, I've got a tough request for you, cuz there's not a whole lotta good photos of him from that time without shading issues: a White Sox-ed Greg Luzinski. With the glasses and beard, it'd make a cool facegen, totally speaking to that era of baseball.

Neal Musser

Rookie left-hander Neal Musser will miss the remainder of the season after breaking his right little finger punching a chair in the Kansas City Royals' clubhouse after a poor relief outing. Musser gave up a go-ahead double to Justin Morneau, the first batter he faced, and retired just one of the four batters in the Royals' 4-2 loss to Minnesota on Monday night.

"I was a little aggravated the way I pitched and took my aggravation out the wrong way, and so I ended up breaking my hand on the back of a chair," Musser said. "You live and learn. I'll never do it again. I did it one time and paid for it." X-rays following the game detected a break below his knuckle on his right little finger. He was wearing a cast Tuesday.

Musser was 0-1 with a 4.38 ERA in 17 relief appearances for the Royals this season, his first year in the majors. - espn

He pitched one more game the next season for the Royals. Didn't catch on with the D-backs.

Temper, temper, Mr. Musser

Greg Luzinski with a beard

"My beard is going to send this Bic to the showers" - Greg Luzinski, 1981

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_A2MBNqa93M

His glasses are white framed so they look great up close in the facegen software but are a little tougher to see in-game. But they are there. I added a "b" to the end of his Histroical Minors ID so if you have both fg files in the fg_files folder, just add a "b" to him via the player editor once in Chicago.

Here's another one that I may just be missing among the various packs, but is there a facegen of Ray Searage (searag002ray / searara01) as a player? All the ones I can find have a grey moustache.

EDIT: Hey, it took me 11 years, but I finally made it to the major leagues .

Lands, I'm curious if you can do fictional guys?

I think someone made this before, but I can't find it anywhere. It's Rick Vaughn and Pedro Cerrano from Major League. (Vaughn is Charlie Sheen)

The catch on Vaughn is to have him with his glasses with the skull on them?

Ray Searage

Before heading out into the sunshine for a midday bullpen session, Uncle Ray has a story to tell. In 1993, several years after his itinerant and inconsequential playing career had come to an abrupt end—“I suddenly realized that no one was interested in a 34-year-old lefthander with an 83-mph fastball and bone chips in his arm,” he says—Searage returned to Freeport, Long Island, where he had grown up. He spent his first months out of baseball as a construction worker making $10 an hour, lugging 12-foot pillars to be installed in cemetery mausoleums. He had a wife, three young sons, a rapidly depleting bank account and a rapidly expanding gut. “A rude awakening to life in the real world,” he calls it. [Then he got the call that began his great pitching coach career.]

“Ray is the guy in your neighborhood who, when your car has problems, you go ask if he can take a look,” says Pittsburgh manager Clint Hurdle. “He tells you to leave it there for a few days, and he’ll see if there’s anything to be done. You come back, and the car’s fixed. You ask him what he did, and he shrugs and says he just tried a few things under the hood.” - Sports Illustrated

There were two old facegens in the pack. Replaced with the younger version using the proper ID.

The skull will be too small to see, and a lot of those pics have some tough shadows, but I can try this weekend for both.
