Knockemstiff played spoilers and ruined Port Ruppert's chances of grabbing the crown, though they went on to beat Paxville 2-1 and claim their place in the playoffs.
Cary were a bit unlucky again. For the Kauff award, Paxville's Tris Speaker and Knockemstiff's Babe Ruth both finished with a 131 OPS+. I've gone for Babe with his 30 HR and 105 RBI. For the True award I've gone for Knockemstiff's Sandy Koufax, with an OL leading 3.02 ERA amongst starters. Good luck in the playoffs! |

Congratulations to the Silly Mad Brewers!
Just Silly and Nowhere in the playoffs, Babel (somehow ) survived and everyone else are heading for Silver!Nowhere's Dan Brouthers stands out for me for the Kauff award. 2nd in the league in RBI (110), 2nd in extra base hits and 3rd in win prob. added. The True award is a lot less clear. Nowhere's flamethrowing Randy Johnson was probably the box office favorite with the highest WAR. A bunch of Maddux's and Koufax's were also excellent performers. But Babel's Greg Maddux led the lot with a 2.38 ERA, got 20 wins and had the highest rWAR with a pretty shaky defense behind him, so he'd be my choice if nobody disagrees. Good luck to Nowhere and Silly in the playoffs! Last edited by Tinkerman; 03-13-2022 at 07:07 AM. |

That Catches Sus Up
So, until we get some playoff results and the award winners in silver and bronze, we're caught up. Got a bit of a late start due to having to postpone food shopping due to the weather yesterday (remember weather, Jason?).
Since it seems that OOTP 23 will be coming fairly soon, it's timeto start thinking about the Founders Cup for PT 22. There are no strict criteria, so just speak up for the team you think deserves to to be the top OL team for this version and to have their name permanently added to the cup. I'll attach last year's so anybody new to OL can see. I'm thinking we should name the winner in two weeks, unless it's better to wait until the week before the next version drops. What do you think? |

I'm quite enjoying watching winter weather from afar via news broadcasts while sitting by the pool with a nice adult beverage in hand ![]() looking over the yearly totals/etc on the spreadsheet, here are some nominations for the Founders Cup; so everyone can either pick one from this group or feel free to choose a different team. Bronze
Baltimore Barons' second baseman, Rogers Hornsby, has been named the winner of the Bronze Kauff Award. Hornsby led all OL hitters in several categories.
West Burlington's Cy Young receives the Bronze True Award. Young was 29-3, with a 1.37 ERA in his 35 starts. |

My votes for Silver
Forgot this earlier, but, based on my own observations many years ago, I vote for Mickey Mantle and Bob Gibson. I guess if nobody else votes by four or five....

An Early Look at Bronze Playoffs
I just took a look at bronze, hoping that Asylum had lost in the wild card so there could be standings next week. I think, at this point, only a major upset by Left Coast over Gear Terrace can prevent a crowded bronze league becoming no mans land next week. Sorry for rooting against you, Rev, but my first hope was against my own team.
![]() Oh wait, there's still a shot. If Baltimore loses, I think the Keepers would stay in bronze, assuming they lose to West Burlington, which seems fairly likely. Last edited by Stanley Kuppchaser; 03-13-2022 at 02:21 PM. |
