definitely didn't expect the Syrups to go the distance this run with the calibre of teams they ran up against, but I'll take it.... just closed on our new house last Thursday.... slowly moving stuff up to get settled in, so was in the new place with the Waffletown jersey reassembling tables and such when I checked PT and saw the win; so I left the Syrups jersey hanging on my office chair at the house (didn't want it coming back to the condo to curse it or something
)as always, appreciate everyone's involvement this season (especially Stanley for the concept/organizing/etc)... already pre-ordered v23 here, so Waffletown will be around for next version... if there's still enough of us around next version hope to see another OL season in the mix. |

Waffletown's Jacob DeGrom finishes off a stellar season with both Pitcher of the Year and MVP:

First, happy for the team from Gear Terrace. A wild postseason for the Warrriors definitely had to include Shinbone, their season-long rival. Their series went the full five games, starting with the Stars’ Pete Alexander shutting out the Warriors on four hits in a 7-0 victory. The Warriors won the 2nd game before each team won in extra innings, setting up a potential epic game five. However, game five turned out to be as anticlimactic as game one, though in the opposite direction, as Alexander coughed up 7 earned runs on the way to a 12-1 drubbing by Gear Terrace. It was up and down the rest of the way for the Warriors, as they both lost big (9-1 and 6-0), but won bigger (18-1 and 10-1) in various games.
Second, OL22 will obviously be over once Stanley checks out. A tremendous thank you to him for all the record-keeping, award-making, and general stewardship of the league! It looks like I'll cover Silver this week for the last go-round.

Yeah, I feel burned out by OOTP after 20,21, and 22
Quote:
I appreciate the OL league and my success in it, but I am looking forward to not checking and entering tournaments umpteen times every day, doing auction house searches constantly to finish collections, and analyzing reams of data to find a slight edge. My heart is just not in it any more. I am burned out. Thanks to everyone for a great three years! Jim

At first glance, Nowhere have no OL games, so it'll be a busy battle within the AC Central.

Inland Empire rides an April road sweep to stake out the early lead.

I'm sure Cary will be hoping for a glorious victory tour, and they've got off to a good start. Shame that Nowhere aren't at the party.

A busy start, though Seattle are yet to play. Silly are on course to further cement their place as Kings of Gold.

Perennial middle-of-the-pack South Holland with the surprising start, but many other contenders lurk close behind. Lemp Ave's Dizzy Dean with the best pitching performance of the month as he no-hits Ostego. A lead-off 9th inning walk was the only blemish on an otherwise perfect outing.

Inland Empire continues their hot start, but a solid group of contenders remain in the hunt.

With an 8-2 month, Knockemstiff have put themselves in a pretty strong position at halfway.
