I like them both but the graphic of the players in the other one reminds me of NBC Saturday afternoon game of the week with Joe Garagiola and Tony Kubek- so I am going with the childhood memory. It sort of nailed it.

Here's ST102
We did better with the friends list, but Jackson in rookie and Inland Empire in stone were missed. I could comment on why Inland Empire happened, but check his user name and make the joke yourself.
Port Ruppert, still smarting from last year's late fade in OL R65, signed free agent (AH) Marty Marion to take over at short and elevated draftee (pack pull) Steve Bilko to the regular first base role. Earl Torgeson will become player/manager for the Aceldama Butchers minor league club. There was much hot stove talk of bolstering the bullpen, but manager Luke "the Loner" Gofannon was pleased with the work of closer Rich Garces last season upon his promotion from the AAA Kakoola Reapers. The taciturn field general, when asked if he'd go with the staff that finished the season, replied, "Yep." |

The Mad Brewers have bolstered the team in an attempt to hold onto an OL crown.
The biggest move is Ray Keating (94) pushing Mel Harder (77) back to a minor league assignment. Ray will hope to keep people guessing with an over the top motion and a screwball in contrast to the straight up power pitching from new closer Joba Chamberlain (78) who pushed out Twitchell (69). The biggest offensive move is that Junior Spivey (81) will be given the chance to take the 2b job from John Farrell (74). Fans wonder if the improvement in power is enough given the huge drop in range. Similarly offensive minded moves saw Heine Mueller (80) and Leon Wagner (81) take over from Daryl Boston (77) although Leon will not be purely a backup as he is likely to split time at DH. Unlike the pitching moves there is no certainty that the offense has improved. |

Not much changed for Waffletown in the offseason. The scouting department did find a new reliever for the bullpen (pack pull). Joining the squad for their Stone tier debut:
-Tippy Martinez (81) Luis Aloma will be sent to the reserves to make room on the roster. The only other "new" addition is Minnie Minoso, who joined the club in the final two weeks of last season; so management and fans alike are excited to see how he performs for a full year. |

Iron.198 hosts 6 OL Teams...
The Cleveland Grays ended up in Iron.198 as follows;
The Silly Mad Brewers, Route 66 Hot Rods, and the Paxville Kings in the American League - and the Hartford Whalers, Otsego Lake Monsters, and Cleveland Grays in the National League. The Grays haven't, yet, made any changes to its roster, but did manage to pull Future Legend 3B Jordon Groshans (92) from a pack who is currently at Auction. Once he sells his proceeds will be combined with the team's current balance and HRBaker2 will call an executive meeting.

R78
Coincidentally, from my office window I am watching the traffic pass by on (S)R78. Here's the 15-team race that is OL R78...

So Algoma Penguins-OL started R78 with an unexpected sweep. But part of the reason was my opponent (who shares a division with 3 OL teams) has an entire pitching staff of low low irons while having a bunch of Gold/Silver pitchers visible in their reserves. Who knows why someone would tank Rookie Level?

looking forward to this season in ST102.
felt pretty good about team but couldn't pass up adding Francisco Lindor (Hardware hero) at short to compete with Jody Reed (who plays WAY above his OVR & won't give away the job). improved defense at SS & 2B with Segura moving over (if all goes according to plan). It was also killing me being a NYM fan & not able to use LIVE players. It was a move I had to make. ![]() Added Frank McCormick to back up (or take over) 1B with Jim Thome. Thome & his 43 HRs last year won't go lightly. ![]() Should be a couple interesting position battles. Pulled a Zack Duke last night for long relief/emergency starter. We'll see how he does. ![]() besides that, the team mostly stayed the same & is looking forward to a run for another ring. Good luck to all!

LOVING the added challenge of players not being trained at every position. it's causing me to carry a player or two I would have reserved long ago.

I haven't yet had to "worry" about training players at a new position, unless the AI is automatically doing it for me, since I let it form my lineups. With the game being more restricted at allowing a player to play everywhere, it will for sure be a added and most welcome challenge....I hope!

think there's a twitch stream later tonight, so hoping to nab a handful of packs and maybe getting a decent pull from them... in other news.... I would like to point out that Waffletown has more left handed starters (4) than the Southpaws (2) ![]()

Bluffton Boomerangs would like to announce the acquisition of Bill Singer, through a Daily Perfect Draft tourney. He looks to be a player who can be a mainstay for many seasons.

thanks! at closer look - not the greatest historical perfect, but I'll take it. I kinda get attached to my early pulls but always worth 20K if needed.

More of the Same for Cary in OL ST102
The Southpaws, who won the R65 crown by rolling over the competition in the the second half last year, broke from the gate this season at a sizzling 9-1 pace to set the mark for the rest of OL. Their strong play overshadowed hot starts by Paper St. and Waffletown.
Baltimore remained on the sidelines, but in checking their schedule, they will easily qualify for the crown chase. By the way, the Gettysburg Bullets don't have the "+" after their team abbreviation. Please add it because it makes OL teams stand out when scanning the schedules. Thanks. I did not post the relegation standings because no OL team is currently in the zone, though a couple are fairly close. Last edited by Stanley Kuppchaser; 04-13-2021 at 06:42 AM. |
