Hub Kittle
For nearly eighty years, Hub Kittle loved and studied pitching. He first realized that this was his calling when he was eight years old. He could outthrow all the neighborhood kids. “Something clicked there, that I had something the good Lord must have gave me. I don’t know why, I couldn’t outfight ’em and I couldn’t outrun ’em, but I could outthrow ’em. Well, all of a sudden, I decided I wanted to be a ballplayer and from there on, I just kept throwing baseballs.” - SABR
Read his SABR bio. Seemed quite the character. Best I could do. Older coaches are tough.

Specific request: wondering if I could get a clean shaven Larry Wilbourne, for my early 70's saves.

I hate to throw more at you. I do a lot of these myself with facegen but I'm not good at it if there is anything weird about the source.
I'm trying to get Don Zimmer from his days as Cubs manager (80s) but the face always comes out really distorted. Also really orange. He had a rather...round...face, but I can't make it work right. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. ![]() ![]() (this is 70s but in case the other one doesn't work) An updated Johnny Oates coach from the 80s would also be helpful. |

In addition to a clean shaven Larry Milbourne request two posts ago, I noticed we have a sideways-looking Joe Lefebvre that could use a reboot.

My last request for a while, I swear: Larry Parrish was clean shaven for a good portion of his career.

Don Zimmer
He was Popeye in Brooklyn, the Gerbil in Boston, Yoda in New York and Zim everywhere. He was the last of the Dodgers, a talisman for the Yankees, a great-grandfather to the Rays and an indelible part of the tapestry of Red Sox history for nearly 40 years, from the age of Lynn and Rice and Bill Lee and Bucky Effin' Dent to the era of Pedro and Papi and beyond. Last that long, and sometimes you pass through all the stages of public judgment, from scorn to tolerance to grudging respect to, finally, something approaching love.
He was the Red Sox third-base coach who shouted "No, no, no,'' when Denny Doyle heard "Go, go, go'' in '75. He managed a Sox team that won 99 games in '78 but blew a 14-game lead to the Yankees, who took four straight from the Sox in September in what became known as the Boston Massacre, then won a one-game playoff immortalized by Dent. - espn.com I'll get to the others tomorrow. Zim is 5'9" 177lbs in the game so that's what I used as a weight. I plumped the cheeks a bit more after the screenshot.

Hey Lans, not sure if you've tackled these two yet in the past few weeks, but would you be willing to do a couple of recent Tigers call ups? Justyn-Henry Malloy and Dillon Dingler. J-Hen is a big smiler, struggling to find any pictures of him face on without one.

Justyn-Henry Malloy
Did Malloy recently but Dingler will have to go on the list for tomorrow as I've set some time aside to catch up on requests and recent debuts. Here's Justyn. Used AI to close his mouth. 3am here so too tired to do a write up...

Joe Lefebvre
FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. Although there have been predictions of an imminent demise of baseball's farm systems since the appearance of the first free agent two years ago, the fears are proving unfounded. There are scattered indications that a few clubs are cutting player development, but the trend is toward maintaining the farms as the developing ground of major league talent. And the Yankees, busily engaged in spring training here, are exhibit A.
Joe Lefebvre (pronounced le‐FAY) is also in the Yankee camp. He dresses only a few feet from such stars as Thurman Munson, Catfish Hunter and Sparky Lyle. But when March 15 arrives, he will dress a few miles to the south, at the team's minor league complex in Hollywood. Lefebvre is a 21year‐old outfielder who, in his second year in the organization, is being transformed into a catcher. He played 54 games last year for Fort Lauderdale of the Florida State League and West Haven of the Eastern League. “I was a little bit nervous going into my first game,” said Lefebvre, who batted. 314 after having been drafted out of Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Fla. “But my first time up I got a three-run double, so that kind of took a lot of the nervousness away from me. I've given a lot of thought to how long it might take me to reach the majors. I'd like to think I could be there in four years. It's going to be a lot of hard work, but I think I can make it.” - New York Times, March 6, 1978

Larry Parrish
Here is a clean-shaven Larry Parrish...
Note that if you have both in your fg_files folder, just change the clean-shaven one's Historical Minors ID so it has a -cs suffix to it and it will load this one.

Dillon Dingler
From mlb pipeline:
Scouting grades: Hit: 45 | Power: 50 | Run: 50 | Arm: 60 | Field: 55 | Overall: 45 The Tigers have had to exercise patience with Dingler since drafting him at the top of the second round in 2020 out of Ohio State, where the converted center fielder was an All-Big Ten backstop. Part of that patience has been forced by injuries, including a fractured index finger in 2021, a thumb injury in '22, knee surgery that delayed his '23 season and elbow issues that led to arthroscopic surgery last offseason. But his combination of athleticism, leadership and power bat keep Detroit believing he’s worth the wait. He played 208 games at Double-A Erie before earning a promotion to Triple-A Toledo last year and a spot on the 40-man roster last fall. Though injuries have tempered his athleticism, Dingler remains a strong-armed, mobile catcher whose ability to make strong throws from multiple angles helps shut down opposing baserunners. He has worked to improve his pitch presentation while reducing his passed-ball total with some changes in setup. Tigers pitchers praise his feel for the game, pregame scouting reports and ability to read hitters. Though Dingler shows good zone judgement and patience at the plate, he struggles to create consistent contact in the zone to tap into his natural power. Dingler’s long road up the system bears similarities to that of Jake Rogers, whose first full MLB season came last year at age 28 and produced 21 homers. Dingler proved what he was capable of when fully health at Triple-A Toledo this summer and made his Major League debut on July 29. I used last year's Spring Training pic as he doesn't seem to have the facial hair since he debuted.
