BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, CCBL, and CYL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 12 March 2318 Nuka Cup Tournament Results Easy Town Regional Round 1: #1 Easy Town 2, #5 Cambridge 1 #2 Jamaica Plain 2, #3 Nahant 1 Round 2: Easy Town 2, Jamaica Plain 1 Cambridge 3, Nahant 0 - Nahant eliminated The defending champions cruised to series victories over both the Coursers and Red Rockets to move into the Regional Finals, where they will have a one-game advantage in the four-game series. They will play one of those two teams again, since Cambridge swept Nahant out. C Clownie Blammo was particularly impressive for Cambridge in their sweep, collecting six hits over three games, scoring five times and driving in four runs. Diamond City Regional Round 1: #6 Nordhagen Beach 2, #1 Diamond City 1 #2 Lexington 2, #5 Spectacle Island 1 Round 2: Lexington 2, Nordhagen Beach 1 Diamond City 2, Spectacle Island 1 - Spectacle Island eliminated The Party Boys got a Round 1 upset over the host Swatters, but then ran into the buzzsaw that is Lexington, a team expecting to take the next step in 2318. The Synths struggled on offense a bit in 2317, which kept them from having true championship hopes. They expect that to change, too, and have started with powering their way to victory in Game 3, with Campy Madrid, Tommy Whitetiger, and Biddy Juhan all going deep. Juhan's three-run pinch hit bomb in the bottom of the 8th gave the Synths the distance they needed to clinch the series. Quincy Regional Round 1: #1 Quincy 2, #6 Bunker Hill 1 #2 The Slog 2, #4 Concord 1 Round 2: The Slog 2, Quincy 1 Concord 2, Bunker Hill 1 - Bunker Hill eliminated The Slog won game 3 over the host Granites to move themselves into the Winner's Bracket and a bye while Quincy and Concord fight for the right to continue. The Ghouls dropped Game 1, but then won the next two to move on. Five The Slog pitchers combined to hold the Granites to nine hits and two earned runs. Buzzcut McDonald started, allowing one earned run on six hits with three walks and five strikeouts in 4.1 innings. Zap Mast's 6th-inning RBI single proved to be the series-clinching hit. Malden Regional Round 1: #7 County Crossing 2, #1 Malden 1 #3 Starlight 3, #4 Oberland 0 Round 2: County Crossing 2, Starlight 1 Malden 3, Oberland 0 - Oberland eliminated Everyone watch out for the Bloodbugs! The 2317 CBO season's worst team record-wise and holders of the #1 overall pick, the Bugs have now defeated 2317 playoff teams Glowing Sea, Malden, and Starlight to move into the Winner's Bracket of the Malden Regional. The NCA also has all four teams in the Winner's Bracket with just three--Diamond City, Quincy, and Jamaica Plain--of the 12 remaining teams being from the SCA. 2317 rookie RF Puny Muljana was the Game 3 MVP for County Crossing, going 2 for 4 with a home run, a walk, two runs, and three RBI for the 7-5 victory. #1 overall pick, Warring Morris, has been starting at SS for the Bugs. He hit a grand slam in Game 2 that ended up clinching that victory.

BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, CCBL, and CYL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 19 March 2318 Nuka Cup Tournament Results Easy Town Regional Round 3: Jamaica Plain 2, Cambridge 1 - Cambridge eliminated Regional Finals: Easy Town 3, Jamaica Plain 2 - Easy Town advances The Assaultrons still appear to be the CBO's best time, splitting the game series 2-2 with the Red Rockets, which gave them the series since the Winner's Bracket has to win two of the four games, while the Loser's Bracket team must win three or four games to advance. Diamond City Regional Round 3: Diamond City 2, Nordhagen Beach 1 - Nordhagen Beach eliminated Regional Finals: Lexington 4, Diamond City 1 - Lexington advances The Synths took three of the four games over the hosts, eliminating the last of the SCA's remaining teams with the other two regional finals being NCA vs NCA matchups. Lexington now gets to take on the CBO's defending champions and can make a preseason statement that they are looking to win it all in 2318. Quincy Regional Round 3: Concord 2, Quincy 1 - Quincy eliminated Regional Finals: The Slog 4, Concord 1 - The Slog advances The Ghouls nearly had the complete sweep, losing Game 4, 6-5 in 15 innings. Otherwise, The Slog has looked to return to their playoff ways where they are looking up in the return of what looks to be the top four seeds from 2317. Malden Regional Round 3: Malden 2, Starlight 1 - Starlight eliminated Regional Finals: Malden 4, County Crossing 1 - Malden advances The Grognaks got the complete sweep over the upstart Bloodbugs, winning all four games in the series despite being automatically down 1-0 in the series due to the Round 1 loss to the Bugs. Malden needed extra innings to win Games 1 and 4, winning 6-2 in 12 in Game 1 and 5-4 in 12 in Game 4. Other than the 6-2 final, all games were won by 1 or 2 runs.

April 2318
I tried to capture all CCBL teams in the standings, meaning that I have to split up the postings for the CCBL and CYL. Ability to send standings to HTML in OOTP 27, please?
BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, CCBL, and CYL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 1 April 2318 The April Super Post, Part 1 CCBL First Month The 2318 CCBL season is now into its second month with the Vim College Captains the top team in the Top 25 of the Power Rankings. There are a few uncommon teams in the Top Ten, including Salve Regina (#2), Sacred Heart (#3), and Nichols College (#6). The defending champions, Yale, is tied for last place in the SoComm Conference at 7-13. CCBL Standings CCBL Players of the Month Hitter - Tufts University Jumbos fans believe they've got a talented young star in Bear Jones. He did nothing to dissuade that notion in March, as he hit .529 with 10 home runs, 27 RBIs and 20 runs scored. The end result was the first baseman being named the Commonwealth Collegiate Baseball League Batter of the Month. Pitcher - The best pitcher this past month in the Commonwealth Collegiate Baseball League was Whit Louaker of the Bunker Hill Globalists. He really razzle-dazzled league hitters, finishing March with a standout 5-0 record and 1.29 ERA. The Globalists hurler made 5 starts and surrendered 44 hits in 42 innings. He struck out 39 and walked 8.

BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, CCBL, and CYL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 1 April 2318 The April Super Post, Part 2 CYL Updates Both the Marblehead Mess (12-1, NR) and Coventry Quads (11-2, SR) are leaders of their regions. Both teams were in the running for the championship based on PAM's preseason predictions. The Mess were picked to finish the season 4th in the NR, while the Quads were picked to finish #2. Here is the rest of the Top 25 in the CYL: CYL Standings CYL Players of the Month The season is only 14 days old, so there were no players of the month selected. Here are the Players of the Week in April to make up the top-performing players: NR 3/25 - When it came to hitting the baseball, Finnan Bogill had few peers in the North Region this past week. The talented shortstop for Malden tagged opposing pitchers for a .517 average and was voted the Player of the Week Award. Included in his stats were 15 hits in 29 at-bats, 9 homers, 16 runs scored and 16 RBIs. SR 3/25 - His hard work and hustle paid off this week. The hard-working and hard-playing Hammerhand Hawkins was rewarded with the South Region Player of the Week honors. The scrappy Johnston Sluggers third baseman hit .471 while collecting 16 hits in 34 at-bats, 4 home runs and 10 RBIs. NR 4/1 - When it came to hitting the baseball, Worm Sanders was in a class by himself in the North Region this past week. Nobody did it better. The outstanding first baseman for North Charles Bank tagged opposing pitchers for a .571 average and was voted the Player of the Week Award. Included in his stats were 12 hits in 21 at-bats, 6 homers, 7 runs scored and 16 RBIs. SR 4/1 - Not every ball that came off Davey Bloodworm's bat last week was a line drive or a towering shot -- it just seemed that way to the teams that played the Wellfleet Tarberries. For his exploits, Bloodworm was named this week's South Region Player of the Week award. The Wellfleet third baseman put up 13 hits in 20 at-bats and 5 home runs while hitting .650 with 11 RBIs and 7 runs scored.

April 2318
BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, CCBL, and CYL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 8 April 2318 CBO Predictions: Malden-Jamaica Plain on Crash Course The 2318 preseaon predictions are out. If the #1 predicted seeds would hold, PAM has the Malden Grognaks finishing atop the North Charles Association, while Jamaica Plain is picked as the top team in the South Charles Association. Lexington and Vault 81 are also predicted to win their leagues in what appear to be mostly top-heavy leagues. The defending champions, Easy Town, is picked to finish 3rd and 16 games back of the Grognaks in the Brotherhood League. The Slog, which just topped the Assaultrons in the Nuka Cup Tournament, is picked to finshi 2nd. Nahant, picked 7th, is picked to earn the #1 overall pick in the 2318 draft. The #1 overall pick this season is expected to be one of the top pitchers: collegiate pitchers Arcade Anderson or Eye Anson or youth pitcher Eagle Eye Hayes. In the Institute League, the Synths are expected to have the second-largest league winner margin at 8 games with Fort Hagen the only other team predicted to finish above .500. Bunker Hill is expected to finish in 7th place for the second-straight season after winning the IL in 2316. The Red Rockets are expected to repeat as champions in the Minutemen League, joining only the Synths as teams predicted to repeat from their 2317 finishes. Coming in at four games back and the only other ML team with a record above .500 is Atom. The 2316 champions and 2317 runners-up, Quincy, is predicted to finish in 7th place and the SCA's worst record, though we at BNN do not see that happening. In the Railroad League, a league race is actually predicted. After missing the playoffs in 2317, Vault 81 is expected to return to their winning ways. The Dwellers are predicted to beat out 2317 league champion, Glowing Sea, by a game. Egret and FHE are also picked to finish above .500. Oberland is picked to finish in 7th. Looking at the playoff predictions, the NCA and SCA seeds would look like this: NCA 1. Malden 2. Lexington 3. The Slog 4. Easy Town +69 5. Fort Hagen +68 6. Concord +13 SCA 1. Jamaica Plain 2. Vault 81 3. Atom 4. Glowing Sea 5. FHE +61 6. Egret +51 In the race for award winners, the Nuka Hitter Award in the NCA will be an interesting one. PAM is predicting Bunker Hill's CF Esau Babz, twin brother of two-time winner (2315 and 2317) CF Eden Babz of Easy Town, to win the 2318 award. Other contenders besides the Babz brothers are C Red Jay Jones of Sunshine Tidings, 1B Lance Tinter of Malden, and Cambridge's RF Jim Geiger. The 2317 Vim! Pitcher Award in the NCA went to Lexington's SP Deedee Martinson, winning his first top award at 38 despite some steallar previous seasons with all of Atom, Nordhagen Beach, and the Synths. Martinson, however, is not expected in the top ten of 2318 contenders, though teammates SP Hyand Lowe and SP Aaron Noluh, are contenders. Lowe is picked second behind PAM's 2318 pick, SP Paul Stains of Salem. Other contenders include the Radstags' Kevin Gauzeman, Ahsoka Tano of Malden, and Starlight's Mercury Morris. In the race for the SCA's Nuka Hitter Award, the Radscorpions' CF Enigma Montgomery, winner in 2314 and 2315, is expected to return to the top. Jamaica Plain's 3B Tre' Morgueman, the 2317 winner, is picked second. Other contenders include RF Pockets Wrench of Vault 81, 2B Lee Mayhew of the Atom Cats, and Atom's RF Candy Kline. Will Hell of the Granites, the 2316 winner, is picked to finish 7th in the race. PAM is picking 2317 Vim! Pitcher Award winner, SP Alex Language of Glowing Sea, to repeat as the award winner. Others picked to compete are the Cats' SP K-9 Creep, Diamond City's SP Macho Lopez, SP baker Dozen of FHE, and two Swatters in SP Dropper Millieu and one of the all-time greats, 40-year-old Beachboy Nut. Nut is the all-time leader in wins with 292, looking to be the only 300-game winner by a long shot and will be a part of the soon-to-come Hall of Fame.

April 2318
BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, CCBL, and CYL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 9 April 2318 Opening Day Shoutout: JP Rookie Glenn McBean The top performances on opening day included three guys not named Glenn McBean. We'll get to them later. But first, let's give a shoutout to one of the heroes of opening day, Jamaica Plain's McBean. Imagine being the 185th overall pick (7th Round) of the 2315 CBO Draft. A hard-hitting outfielder out of Revere College, McBean was that guy. Scouts loved his power ability, but they could not see him as a star in the CBO. Maybe a contributor. But not a star. So McBean worked his way up. spending his 2316 season in the BMU (A), MML (AA), and NEBL (AAA) with his longest stop with the MML's Hartford Melonheads. Then in 2317, McBean played a few games with the Melonheads before moving up to the NEBL's Needham Archers, also an affiliate of the red Rockets. In 95 games with 68 starts, McBean hit .286 with seven homers and 20 RBI. Still, nothing for starpower. In 2318, the Rockets decided that McBean belonged as a backup outfielder on their opening day roster, playing behind one of the CBO's best young RFers, Kevin Cauthen, entering his second season after a 3rd-place finish in the 2317 Red Rocket Rookie Award race. Now, imagine McBean gettng his first major league at bat. Picture it. It's the bottom of the 9th. The Rockets are deadlocked 1-1 with University Point on opening day. The only scores were solo home runs by Jamaica Plain's Tre' Morgueman (2nd inning) and the Deathclaws' Rocket Ray Richardson (5th inning). It's the bottom of the 9th and the Claws are sending out rookie and former 2315 4th round pick out of Stonehill College Maze Ayubu out to the mound to try to prevent a walkoff. Jamaica Plain manager Scoundrel Easterling sees Ayubu out there and then looks at you, in this case, you being McBean, and with his scratchy sailor's drawl shouts out, "Hey, rook. Grab your bat. You're hitting for [Jim] Clow." He then turns to the hitting coach. "I hope you're sure about this, Juke [Grenade]." You, meaning McBean, grab your bat and walk out to the on-deck circle. You're sweaty and nervous. McBean was. Ayubu threw a blazing fastball, with McBean hacking and missing miserably late. He watched a curve drift to the outside, and now McBean was licking his chops, hoping another curve would come. One that would swoop right over the plate where McBean could use his even swing to give the ball some lift, maybe drive over the head of Richardson who had crept in a little too much in right. But it was not a curve, it was a slightly lifted but dead center fastball coming in at around 98 MPH. McBean swung, but a bit too late, still making solid contact. The ball zipped off the bat and kept rising, moving on a steady pace right at Red Rockets Stadium's 14-foot left field wall. The ball kept rising and sailed right over the fence for a line drive home run and a walkoff home run by the rookie McBean in his first CBO at bat, in just his second CBO swing. The hero. The star. Imagine. Now on to those top players. Easy Town is defending champions because it has a lot of really talented players. One of those is LF J.J. Gray who had a day, going 4 for 5 with a double, a triple, two home runs, three runs, and seven RBI. He came a single short of hitting for the cycle on opening day. While there have been 37 times when players hit for the cycle in CBO history, none had done it on opening day. The Assaultrons cruised to victory, 12-1, over County Crossing. Malden's Jacob Tarberry also had a great day, going 4 for 4 with two home runs, a walk, four runs, and three RBI in the Grognaks' 17-2 shellacking of Nahant. FHE's Sheldon Mayoral had the best pitching day, throwing 8.0 shutout innings with three hits allowed and five strikeouts in the Yao Guai's 1-0 victory over Egret.

Well if PAM is to be believed, it's going to be a good season for Glowing Sea! Helps to have the top projected hitter and pitcher!
Hoping they upgrade the roster during the season this year. Feel like they got too complacent and it hurt them in the postseason. They clearly have the stars so now it's about getting the depth |

The team is pretty young, though, so if they are patient, and keep winning 70 games a season, then they should be in great shape to be in position to win it. After the first week, they are 4-3, trailing Vault 81 (6-1) and Diamond City (5-2). They got swept at the Swatters, swept Oberland, and then won 2 of 3 over Egret. They get Roxbury next with a chance to be 6-4 or 7-3 all against the RL.

Season Pass Association
---------------------------------------------------------- Nuka News Update Reporting on the NWL and APL by Evan Guy 15 April 2318 Finalists for the Five Now that the Nuka World League Spring Training has begun, the bosses at the CBO have asked that we narrow our all-time greats list to 10-15 players. I went with the minimum of 10, though I may decide to edit that list later. I have also consulted with the Vim! League's Jimmy Gresham, who is putting together our lists as part of the "20 Years of Baseball" that CBO commissioner Jimmy LaRue has put together. We all know that the Nuka World League only has one more year of existence in its current state before a CBO team begins here and the current teams become a part of the Greater Boston Rookie League. With that in mind, both Jimmy Gresham and I agreed that we need to consider some of the current younger players and projections of how they may compare to the league greats if they were able to play their full careers in the Season Pass Association. One unique player that we at the NWL are claiming, though he also has played in the Vim! League is SP Steven Nebraska. Let's take a look at my finalists list for the NWL's all-time greats with the caveat that a current player, like Wild's Bubba Shrimp, could end up being one of the Five even though he is not on this list. The list in alphabetical order: RP Old Buck Buchanan - The NWL's all-time saves leader and only five-time Nuka Thirst Zapper Award winner. SP John Diner - He only played eight seasons with the NWL, but that included two Nuka Cannon Awards. SP Bull Johnson - In his 17 years, became the NWL's all-time strikeouts and WAR leader. SP Steven Nebraska - WAR not as impressive as some others but had some major seasons, including being first all-time in Nuka Cannon Award wins with three. 1B Doman Northsea - Has only played seven seasons so far but has appeared in the All-Star Game every year and won one Nuka King Award. 2B Ah Oona - Maybe the NWL's best player of all-time and definitely in consideration for the Five. First in home runs, RBI, and strikeouts with the most Nuka King Awards (4) all-time. SP Allen Puckett - Third all-time in WAR, 10-time All-Star in 14 seasons, two Nuka Cannon Awards. LF Yorkie Tallsky - One of the young ones that has been highly successful. Has not won a Nuka King Award but has appeared in the All-Star Game in 6 of his 7 seasons in the NWL. 3B Curt Toth - First all-time in hits and WAR, 12 All-Star appearances and one Nuka King Award. SP Chris Yao - All-time leader in wins, games started, innings pitched, hits allowed, and walks. Won one Nuka Cannon Award and appeared in the All-Star Game six times. ---------------------------------------------------------- Vim! View News of the Vim! League and Its Affiliates by Jimmy Gresham The Greatest Players Ever in the History of the Vim! League and Maybe the Whole Wide World The 2318 Spring Training season begins today in the Vim! League. The Dalton Farm Fog Crawlers are once again defending a title, and the rest of the league is scheming how to top them. In this edition, and in cooperation with the Nuka World League, we are releasing our finalists for the list of the "5 Greatest Players Ever in the History of the Vim! League and Maybe the Whole Wide World." Here is my list of finalists, with the finalist hitters and then the finalist pitchers each listed in alphabetical order. There are 11 players on my list. Hitters: 1B Drew Buntrock - Hitters were tough to choose, and that starts with Buntrock. In 15 seasons, he is third in WAR and has appeared in 12 All-Star games. He is the only hitter on the list with no MVP Awards. LF Toppie Gunn - The best of the hitters. First in WAR, home runs, and walks. Made the All-Star Game 13 times and won the MVP Award five times. 1B Chris Knickerbocker - One of the few people who challenged Gunn as a hitter. First in multiple categories in Vim! League history: games played, at bats, runs, hits, total bases, and singles. Twelve-time All-Star and one-time Vim! MVP. 3B Ryan Morris - Won the MVP two times in eight seasons. 1B Hazmatt Zuniga - Two-time MVP and first in OBP, SLG, and OPS. Pitchers: SP Phil Cecil - Second all-time with two Top Arm Awards. SP Wearya Going - High WAR but also first in losses and home runs allowed. Won the Vim! Top Arm Award once. SP Steady Mike Holmes - Two-time Top Arm Award winner and 11-time All-Star. SP Keith Lighthouse - Leader in games started. Made 13 All-Star Game appearances and won one Top Arm Award. SP Alex Ruder - Seventeen seasons in the league. All-time leader in walks. Twelve-time All-Star and one-time Vim! Series MVP. SP Jason Woods - Leader in complete games, shutouts, hits allowed, strikeouts, and WAR. Won the Vim! Top Arm Award five times and made 13 All-Star Game appearances.

April 2318
BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, CCBL, and CYL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 22 April 2318 Concord, Goodneighbor Hold Early Association Leads Like we always do in this 28-team, 130-game set, the first update happens after 13 games have been completed. This season, there are some surprises atop the leagues, and associations. As the headline reads, Concord and Goodneighbor at 10-3 apiece are atop their leagues. A few winning record surprises early include Salem and Nahant in the BL, The Stags and Sunshine Tidings in the IL, and the Hancocks and Southie in the ML. PAM would say that Diamond City is a surprise, but that team's pitching is too good to be a flat out bad team. Here are the current team power rankings for Commonwealth Baseball Organization: Teams (Total Points, Tendency): 1) Concord Radstags (145.4, ++) 2) Goodneighbor Hancocks (140.4, +) 3) FHE Yao Guai (137.6, ++) 4) Southie Brews (129.6, -) 5) Vault 81 Dwellers (128.6, -) 6) Fort Hagen Silver Shroud (127.6, --) 7) Salem Witch Hats (114.7, ++) 8) Diamond City Swatters (109.7, -) 9) Quincy Granites (99.8, ++) 10) Jamaica Plain Red Rockets (98.8, --) 11) Sunshine Tidings Chemists (98.8, ++) 12) The Slog Ghouls (97.8, o) 13) Nahant Celtics (96.8, --) 14) County Crossing Bloodbugs (95.8, --) 15) Cambridge Coursers (84.2, ++) 16) Easy Town Assaultrons (82.2, ++) 17) Nordhagen Beach Party Boys (82.2, +) 18) Glowing Sea Radscorpions (81.2, --) 19) Lexington Synths (81.2, -) 20) Roxbury Rad Sox (79.2, --) 21) Atom Cats (70.3, ++) 22) University Point Deathclaws (66.3, ++) 23) Egret Ninjas (64.3, +) 24) Malden Grognaks (50.4, --) 25) Bunker Hill 75ers (47.4, --) 26) Starlight Killers (39.6, +) 27) Oberland T-51s (36.6, --) 28) Spectacle Island Reapers (36.6, -) Brotherhood League We're going to start this update with where teams are compared to where they were picked to be. The Witch Hats (picked 4th) are the current leaders, followed one game behind by a three-way tie in Nahant (7th), The Slog (2nd), and County Crossing (5th). Nordhagen Beach (6th) and Easy Town (3rd) are tied for 5th, while Malden (1st) is four games back and in last place in the BL. The Grognaks are presently an enigma. Picked to have the CBO's top record and be the only 80+ game winner at 84-46, it looked for sure that Malden would be winning early and often. So far, that has not been the case. Malden is 11th in runs scored (56) versus 6th in runs allowed (61), so offense seems to be the bigger culprit. Overall, offensive stats are low, including currently being 12th in average (.261) and tied for 11th in home runs (10). 3B Jacob Tarberry (.350/2/7) and 2B Jack of Diamonds Cordero (.319/1/7) are hitting decently, but there are a fw players holding back the offense. Upping the power numbers would probably lead to immediate changes in success. Institute League The Stags (3rd) are looking to return to the playoffs, and a strong start, invcluding tied for the CBO best with an 8-2 record in their last 10. Fort Hagen (2nd) is a game back, and Sunshine Tidings (4th) is the only other team above .500. Cambridge (5th) and Lexington (1st) are tied for 4th, Bunker Hill (7th) is two back of them, and Starlight (6th) is tied for the CBO's worst record with Spectacle Island and Oberland. Concord had a franchise-record three-season streak of making the playoffs from 2314-2316 before missing last season. None of those teams competed seriously for a championship, but the 2318 team may have what it takes. The Radstags are the best in the NCA with 86 runs scored and 4th in runs allowed (55). Early stars include 1B Two Shoes Rivera (.463/1/13), RF Jannar Arbor (.388/4/16), and CF Kai Devlin (.396/1/7/5 SB) with the bats. From the mound, Three of the four starters have an ERA below 4.00 for the 3rd-best Starters ERA (3.70). Dimman Dillon (2-0, 2.60) has the best ERA of the starters with Kevin Gauzeman (2-1, 3.18) doing well, also. Minutemen League Goodneighbor (4th) started 10-1 before dropping their last two but still have the CBO's best record along with Concord. Southie (5th) is just a game back with both Quincy (7th) and Jamaica Plain (1st) three back. Atom (2nd) and University Point (6th) are tied for 5th, while the Reapers (3rd) are alone in 7th. For the Hancocks, offense and starting pitching have shown huge leaps in success in the early season. Goodneighbor is tied for 1st in runs scored (74) and 6th in runs allowed (49), mostly thanks to the 2nd-best Starters ERA (2.66). Fourth-overall pick in 2317, Derek Cureall (.333/2/7/8 SB) is already making strides in changing the culture for a team that has made the playoffs only once (2312) in the last 17 seasons. Jared Porch (0-0, 0.83) has yet to get run support, but has also not yet lost a game. Jules Alder (3-0, 3.16) is getting run support. For Goodneighbor, ace pitching has been their Heel. Railroad League Vault 81 (1st) and FHE (4th) are tied for 1st place, just a game back of the Cocks. Diamond City (5th) is just a game back of them, while Roxbury (6th) and Glowing Sea (2nd) are a game below .500. Egret (3rd) is alone in 6th, and the T-51s (7th) are right where they are expected at the bottom of standings. With a CBO-best seven-game winning streak and a tie at 8-2 for the best record in their last 10, FHE appears to be a serious team in 2318. There are still gaps in the talent of the team compared to some of the other teams around them, but the Yao Guai have looked to be more effective in controlling thir success. Some indicators that FHE are currently overperforming include being 5th in runs scored (60) while 8th in runs allowed (52), putting them about in the middle and an expectation of finishing somewhere around .500 with only a slight wobble one way or the other. As it stands, the Yao Guai are benefiting most from teams playing poor defense against them. Outside of scoring, the only offensive stat where FHE does not rank in the double-digits is stolen bases (tied for 2nd at 15). Pitching also has its problems, though the top three starters--Baker Dozen (3-0, 3.57), Nien Nunb (2-0, 3.04), and Lane Phrasemaker (1-0, 3.57)--all have decent numbers. CBO Standings CBO Players of the Week April 15 - Fort Hagen fans have something to crow about today as Fort Hagen second baseman Lobster Schintzius nabbed the North Charles Association Player of the Week Award for his performance over the last seven days. "I know there are times when it's hard to lay off pitches. Everyone goes through stretches when he's too eager to put the ball in play. You know, though, I feel like this past week I was able to get in the right frame of mind and just let things come naturally," said Schintzius. He posted a .583 average (14-for-24) this past week with 1 home run, 6 RBIs, and 9 runs scored. Atom sports fans can't stop singing the praises of Lee Mayhew, who has been selected the South Charles Association Player of the Week. Mayhew was in a comfort zone all week, finishing with a .538 average (14-for-26), 2 RBIs and 1 home run. April 22 - What's in a number? In baseball, just about everything. The numbers that The Slog's Gavin Deux-Gas put up last week were the envy of the league, as Deux-Gas came away with North Charles Association Player of the Week honors. He belted out 10 hits in 25 at-bats, 3 home runs and 9 RBIs last week as he posted his .400 batting average. Jamaica Plain sports fans can't stop singing the praises of Ken Debate, who has been selected the South Charles Association Player of the Week. Debate was in a comfort zone all week, finishing with a .400 average (10-for-25), 10 RBIs and 4 home runs. CBO Noteworthy News April 8 - Nordhagen Beach and The Slog have agreed to a trade today. 22-year old minor league C Stewie Page will go to the Ghouls. In exchange the Party Boys will receive 29-year old minor league LF Makin Jobear. During his career, Jobear has notched 883 hits and a .296 average with 157 home runs and 515 RBIs. April 13 - Stu Gains is stepping away from the game of baseball at the end of the season. The Vault 81 Dwellers player gave a brief explanation to reporters this afternoon. "It's time to step away from the game and work on phase two of my life - world domination," the 36-year-old joked. Gains wisecracked for several minutes while reminiscing about high and low points of his career. At the end of the session, Gains sent a personal message. "I truly thank all you fans." In 1730 career games Gains is hitting at a .295 pace with 1842 hits with 342 doubles, 14 triples and 399 homers while scoring 1176 runs and racking up 1250 RBIs. He logged 1044 walks and owns a .395 on-base percentage. April 13 - You can focus on the negatives after being traded to a new team -- finding a new place to stay, leaving teammates and friends, having to start anew -- but one player hopes to focus on the positives. "It means I'm wanted somewhere. At least one team sees potential in me." Those were the comments heard after the Jamaica Plain Red Rockets came to an agreement to deal 25-year old 1B Roo Kid Cunningham to the Roxbury Rad Sox for 29-year old RHP Ma'Khail Redstick earlier today. The deal is expected to be formally announced later this evening. For his career, Cunningham is hitting .241 with 13 homers, 58 RBIs and 108 hits. In his career, Redstick has fanned 511 batters and walked 413 in 719.1 innings of work. His lifetime won-lost record is 46 victories and 28 defeats with a 4.25 ERA and opposing hitters have compiled a .258 batting average against him. April 14 - In a news release, the Quincy Granites announced that reliever Wick Prater would miss the rest of the season due to a torn labrum. Prater sustained the injury on 04/13/2318. He "will be sorely missed," said his manager. This could spell the end of the career for the 39-year-old Prater, the CBO's all-time saves leader with 426. We will track his progress. April 17 - The Starlight Killers, off to a 1-7 start and the CBO's worst pitching ERA, have decided to part ways with pitching coach Tombstone Costner in favor of veteran pitching coach Corey Young. April 21 - Mel Gorgeous said this season with the Concord Radstags will be his last in professional baseball. "I'm 38 years old, I think it's time to hang them up," he said. "I've been proud to be a part of this organization and this sport, but it's time to move on." In his career, Gorgeous has 106 victories and 136 defeats and recorded an ERA of 4.41. CYL All-Star Game Juggernaut Sorrell shined brightly tonight against the best talent that the CYL has to offer. The all-star was named MVP for the annual mid-season showcase held at Eagles Stadium, as his North Region All-Stars downed the South Region All-Stars by a count of 6-5. "It's humbling to even play in a game like this with legends of the sport all around you," he said. Sorrell went 2 for 3 to capture the honor. Lifetime in 155 games Sorrell is batting .407 with 69 home runs and 189 RBIs. Half of the season has been played and now it's time for the All-Star game! It's a game where the fans will get to see their favorite players compete on the same field together, a game where the players themselves become fans and all of baseball comes together to celebrate one of the great traditions of the game -- the Commonwealth Youth League All-Star game. The North Region and the South Region will come together today to decide the title of the best league for this season. May 2318
BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, CCBL, and CYL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 1 May 2318 The May 1 Super Post, Part 1 CBO Top Performances Hitting - We are one month in and we already have a game score tie among hitters. On April 8, Easy Town's J.J. Gray fell a single short of hitting for an Opening Day cycle. Instead, Gray went 4 for 5 with a double, a triple, two home runs, three runs, and seven RBI. He earned a game score of 108. Dynamo Bynes of Spectacle Island matched Gray's score on April 16. In a 12-8 win over Southie, Bynes went 3 for 4 with three home runs, two walks, four runs, and five RBI. Pitching - With a score of 85, Admiral Kelm of Lexington had the solo top performance in April. On April 10, Kelm allowed three hits in 8.1 innings with eight strikeouts in a 3-0 victory over Concord. CBO Players of the Month NCA Hitter - Jannar Arbor, the Concord right fielder, certainly made a name for himself this past month. He banged out a .373 batting average with 28 hits, 7 home runs, 22 RBIs and scored 20 times. That kind of hitting earned him the North Charles Association Batter of the Month honors for April. SCA Hitter - Dynamo Bynes battered South Charles Association pitchers all April and wound up taking home the Batter of the Month Award. "I've been around Commonwealth Baseball Organization long enough to know you really have to work hard day in and day out to be able to put up this kind of consistency," the 29-year-old Bynes told reporters. "I put in a lot of work, even on the days I might not take the field, and it's always nice when everything comes together for me like it did this last month." In 21 games, Bynes hit .372 with 6 home runs, 15 RBIs and scored 21 runs. NCA Pitcher - The Pitcher of the Month for April has been picked and the North Charles Association award went to Lexington hurler, Admiral Kelm. During the month, Kelm was impressive with a 1.36 ERA and 4 wins and no losses. In 33 innings he struck out 30 and gave up 22 hits and 11 walks. SCA Pitcher - April's #1 hurler was Jules Alder of Goodneighbor. He gunned down South Charles Association hitters the whole month and claimed the Pitcher of the Month award. The Hancocks star piled up 4 wins and 1 loss to take the honor. The 23-year-old Alder added 31 strikeouts in 38.2 innings and 15 walks to his season record and compiled a 3.26 ERA. Other clubs hit .255 against him. NCA Rookie - DJ Shark is still a bit shy, but then, who could blame the newest North Charles Association Rookie of the Month honoree? He hasn't been around the league long enough to fully know the ropes yet, despite the fact that he's putting up veteran-like numbers. In April the Starlight hitter tagged opposing pitching for a .349 average with 29 hits, 4 home runs and 15 RBIs. SCA Rookie - Last month Awesome Tony Fox strong-armed the South Charles Association hitters and picked up 4 victories. In addition Jamaica Plain hurler also picked up the league's Rookie of the Month honors. In April the 22-year-old Fox recorded a 4-0 won-lost mark with a 1.20 ERA and 12 strikeouts in 15 innings. NEBL Analysis Teams are 21 games into the season, and there is some separation beginning to show. Division leaders are Danvers in the Maine; Worcester and Manchester in the Vershire; Hartford in the Mass; and Bridgeport in the Connri. NEBL Players of the Month PL Hitter - Sergio Siu may be much younger than other hitters in the Patriot League, but he performed like a seasoned veteran in April to win the Batter of the Month award. The 23-year-old Revere Beach first baseman hit .397 with 8 home runs, 14 RBIs and 14 runs scored. YL Hitter - Cupper Galvan made his presence known as one of the best young stars in the Yankee League this past month. The Waterbury Cola Kings right fielder shined through the month of April and has won the Batter of the Month award. The 24-year-old hit .319 with 8 home runs, 23 RBIs and 15 runs scored. PL Pitcher - The top-rated pitcher in the Patriot League this month was Danvers Sonics reliever Bang Bang Jennings. He won the league's premier pitcher award for April by saving 5 games in 5 save opportunities. During the period Jennings also had 3 wins and no losses. The Danvers relief specialist had 8 strikeouts and 2 walks in 14.2 innings, permitted 11 base hits and compiled a 0.61 ERA. YL Pitcher - The Yankee League announced the winner of the Pitcher of the Month Award for April. It went to Sluggo Pyne of Bradberton for his outstanding 3-1 record and 1.69 ERA. Pyne also chalked up 5 starts, 32 innings and 26 strikeouts. MML Analysis Two divisions have ties and two have leaders. One team, Marlborough is 16-5, the best in the MML. Division leaders are: Tenpines Bluff and Clifton in the Wade Boggs; the Firemen in the Matt Murtagh; Neponset Park in the Ted Williams; and Somerville Place, Stratford, and Cranston in the Carl Yastrzemski. MML Players of the Month LL Hitter - For a rookie just breaking in, Jayden Dawson certainly put together a successful month. It was good enough to win the LL Batter of the Month award for April. The 21-year-old first baseman for the Brunswick Brainiacs hit .380 with 5 home runs, 15 RBIs and 12 runs scored. SL Hitter - Even though he is a newcomer to Massachusetts Minor League, Crowball Myles put up some good numbers in April and earned the SL Batter of the Month award. He was one of Neponset Park's offensive leaders with a .339 average in 17 games. He also racked up 6 home runs, 13 RBIs, and 13 runs scored. LL Pitcher - Bunter Mayberry is the latest Legends League Pitcher of the Month trophy winner. The Marlborough starter sparkled on the diamond time and again last month and finished April with an outstanding 3-0 record. In 4 starts he tossed 28.1 innings, posted 19 strikeouts, and sported a 0.32 ERA. SL Pitcher - No doubt about it! Plymouth starter Mutt McArthur earned his Stars League Pitcher of the Month award. He made that very clear as he mowed his way through league hitters in April. During the month McArthur chalked up a 3-0 record with a 1.70 ERA. The Pilgrims star made 5 starts and surrendered 21 hits in 37 innings. He struck out 23 and walked 3. BMU Analysis Every division has a tight race at this point in the season. Lots of newcomers to the pros are looking good. Division leaders are: Lynn Woods in the Dark Hollow Pond; Outpost Zimonja and Bedford in the Cambridge; Foxborough in the Downtown Boston; and Norwich in the Glowing Sea. BMU Players of the Month CA Hitter - At only 22 years of age, Corny Jastain could very well have many more months like this last one during his career. That would be great news for fans of the Breakheart Banks Sugar Bombs, as April was one to remember for the right fielder and he has captured the Commonwealth Association Batter of the Month award. On the month he hit .390 with 4 home runs, 16 RBIs and 13 runs scored. MA Hitter - Poseidon Energy Mongrels fans believe they've got a talented young star in Runner Delhombre. He did nothing to dissuade that notion in April, as he hit .389 with 3 home runs, 9 RBIs and 15 runs scored. The end result was the center fielder being named the Massachusetts Association Batter of the Month. CA Pitcher - In April, when the name of Hank Fishtank appeared on the Outpost Zimonja lineup card it was a virtual lock on a victory. He started 3 times and chalked up 3 wins and no losses. With those stats it was also a virtual lock that he would be named the Commonwealth Association Pitcher of the Month. Fishtank shackled opposing batters on 11 base hits and a .169 batting average. He rang up 13 strikeouts in 19.2 innings of work, surrendered 7 walks and fashioned a sparkling 0.92 ERA. MA Pitcher - Reptile Kimbell of the Meriden Attack Dogs strung a bunch of high quality starts together in April to earn the Massachusetts Association Pitcher of the Month trophy. For the month he finished with a superlative 4 wins and 1 loss and a 1.24 ERA. The Meriden star started 5 games, pitched 36.1 innings and struck out 25. GBRL Analysis The youngsters of the pros have played their first 18 games. Division leaders are: Portland in the Northeast; Sanctuary Hills in the Northwest; Sandwich in the Southeast; and Stamford and Fiddler's Green in the Southwest. GBRL Players of the Month NL Hitter - Lincoln Flamers fans may just have witnessed a star player blossoming before their eyes in April. Kolar Raven put up a remarkable month at the age of 18 and has been named the North League Batter of the Month. For the month, Raven hit .435 with 6 home runs, 21 RBIs and 20 runs scored. SL Hitter - When A'Trey-U Jones stepped up to the plate in April he did it with confidence, and today he was honored with the South League Batter of the Month award. The young Stamford first baseman posted a .286 batting average with 11 home runs, 21 RBIs and scored 17 runs. Jones also worked pitchers for 14 walks to post a .430 on-base percentage. NL Pitcher - The North League announced the winner of the Pitcher of the Month Award. It went to bullpen ace Machine Gun White of Sanctuary Hills for his outstanding work on the mound. During the month, the Zetans star stood out with 8 saves in 8 save opportunities, a 1.00 ERA and 1 win and no losses. In 9 innings he struck out 9 and gave up 10 hits and 2 walks. SL Pitcher - Last month's cream of the crop on the mound was Osgur Cook of the Sandwich Bay Snakes. He captured the South League Pitcher of the Month award for his outstanding performance in April. Cook started 4 games, threw 21.2 innings, yielded 21 hits and logged a 3-1 record. He put down 15 batters on strikes, walked 7 and compiled a 2.49 ERA. Opposing teams batted .256 against him.

May 2318
BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, CCBL, and CYL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 1 May 2318 The May 1 Super Post, Part 2 CCBL Analysis There are no teams officially in the playoffs, and only one team--Rivier University--officially out. With 13 games left in the 2318 season, we have some ideas of which teams may be good enough to win it all, but we have a lot more questions marks. At 33-14, the Roxbury Tigers possess the CCBL's best record. In just their third season as part of the CCBL, that would be a hell of a coup to win it all. We won't predict that. What we will look at is the current conference leaders and the standings overall and which players were April's best. Conference leaders (with ties): BCAC - Mass Bay and Tufts MassCon - UMass-Lowell NoComm - Acadia College SoComm - Salve Regina Atlantic Sound - Narragansett MCC - Roxbury College NEAC - Franklin Pierce It is also worth noting that both Independents, Maine Maritime and Elms College, are currently in if the playoffs were to start today. CCBL Players of the Month Hitting - Not known for his offensive prowess, Old Blue Sandoval set the league afire in April and took home the Commonwealth Collegiate Baseball League Batter of the Month award. The Narragansett right fielder posted a steady .442 batting average, 14 home runs, 29 RBIs and 33 runs. For the season, Sandoval is hitting .417, batted in 57 runs with 25 home runs and 52 runs scored. Pitching - This month the Commonwealth Collegiate Baseball League spotlight fell on pitcher Colton Julien of the ECSU Warriors. What a April he had! A fine 7-1 won-lost record, 2.22 ERA, 9 starts, 69 innings pitched and 64 strikeouts -- good enough to get him the CCBL Pitcher of the Month. To date this year, the freshman Julien has compiled a 11-1 mark with a 1.85 ERA in 15 starts. CYL Analysis Like the CCBL, the CYL season is winding down. Yet, still no teams have clinched one of the 48 spots in the 2318 playoffs. We do know the leaders of the divisions and what that will mean if they hold on. Division leaders: NR Franklin - Worcester NR Emerson - Marblehead and Gloucester NR Fuller - Beerthirty and Lexington NR Revere - CIT Academy NR DuBois - Newburyport NR Longfellow - Kittery NR Allen - Bennington SR Adams - Coventry* SR Alcott - West Quincy SR Morse - Brockton SR Attucks - Truro SR Hancock - Foster SR Bradberton - Chicopee SR Mayhew - Oak Bluffs CYL Players of the Month NR Hitter - It's perhaps an award he'll win many more times through his career, as at age 17 Worm Sanders has a lot of baseball ahead of him. But for now the young North Charles Bank Goonies star can enjoy the numbers he put up in April, which have garnered him the nod as the North Region Batter of the Month. His breakout month featured a .500 average with 21 home runs, 57 RBIs and 37 runs scored. To date this season, Sanders is hitting .476 with 29 home runs. SR Hitter - Terrance Phillip has a lot going for him. The Brockton first baseman just broke into the majors this year and now the South Region has just picked him as its top hitter for April. In 24 games last month this outstanding rookie batted .436 with 21 home runs, 54 RBIs and 31 runs scored. This season, Phillip is batting .398 with 49 hits, 30 home runs, 78 RBIs, 45 walks, .561 OBP and has scored 44 runs. He has played in 37 games. NR Pitcher - When Rhubarb Coombs took the hill in April, he was in charge. The Gloucester starter never let the North Region batters get a foothold against him. For his peerless performance, he came away with an impressive 7-0 record and the Pitcher of the Month award. The talented Dog Trainers hurler made 9 starts, worked 67.2 innings, permitted 54 base hits, and struck out 115 while putting up a 1.33 ERA. This season, Coombs has worked 100.2 innings with 170 strikeouts en route to a 10-1 record and a 1.25 ERA. SR Pitcher - In April Chatham starter Edik Musatov mystified South Region hitters and carried off the Pitcher of the Month honors by chalking up a 6-0 record in 8 starts. The 17-year-old Musatov added 79 strikeouts in 61.2 innings and 32 walks to his season record and compiled a 1.61 ERA. Opposing batters hit .165 against him. Checking out his stats for the season, Musatov has racked up 6 wins and 2 losses in 12 starts, posted a 3.13 ERA, and struck out 108 batters in 83.1 innings.

May 2318
BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, CCBL, and CYL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 6 May 2318 Fort Hagen #1 We have hit the 20% mark of the 2318 season, and the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud have the top record in the CBO at 18-8. The SCA is led by Goodneighbor at 17-9, while both the Brotherhood and Railroad Leagues have ties at 15-11. Nordhagen Beach, which was the first team to fire their manager in 2318, has the CBO's worst record at 9-17. Here are the current team power rankings for Commonwealth Baseball Organization: Teams (Total Points, Tendency): 1) Fort Hagen Silver Shroud (125.6, o) 2) Goodneighbor Hancocks (120.7, ++) 3) Lexington Synths (107.9, ++) 4) The Slog Ghouls (107.9, ++) 5) Vault 81 Dwellers (106.9, +) 6) Concord Radstags (106.7, -) 7) Diamond City Swatters (105.9, --) 8) Salem Witch Hats (102.9, -) 9) Southie Brews (97.8, --) 10) Roxbury Rad Sox (96.8, ++) 11) Jamaica Plain Red Rockets (95.8, --) 12) Sunshine Tidings Chemists (91.0, ++) 13) Easy Town Assaultrons (88.0, o) 14) Glowing Sea Radscorpions (88.0, --) 15) Cambridge Coursers (87.2, ++) 16) University Point Deathclaws (84.2, ++) 17) County Crossing Bloodbugs (82.2, --) 18) Egret Ninjas (82.2, +) 19) Quincy Granites (82.2, +) 20) Nahant Celtics (80.2, --) 21) FHE Yao Guai (80.0, --) 22) Malden Grognaks (76.1, ++) 23) Atom Cats (75.1, o) 24) Spectacle Island Reapers (75.1, -) 25) Oberland T-51s (73.3, ++) 26) Starlight Killers (72.3, +) 27) Bunker Hill 75ers (68.3, --) 28) Nordhagen Beach Party Boys (60.3, -) Brotherhood League The Slog and Salem are on top together, two games up on Easy Town at .500. The rest of the BL is below .500, with County Crossing and Nahant tied for 4th, Malden in 6th, the the Party Boys in 7th. The Witch Hats have missed the playoffs the past two seasons after a five-year run from 2311-2315, including a Brotherhood League pennant in 2315. That turned to a 1st to worst tale in 2316, though, as the Hats fell on their faces and picked 3rd overall in the draft. This season, Salem may be back, though there are some gas in talent throughout the lineup. The Hats are 11th in runs scored (121) but 4th in home runs (30). 3B kai Halliday (.378/6/11), RF Thatch Heard (.302/5/10) and CF Tobias Hoffman (.274/4/16) are the team leaders in homers. On the mound, the Witch Hats are 4th in runs allowed, thanks to ace Paul Stains (2-1, 3.12) and fourth starter David Lunchtime (3-1, 2.80). RP Josh Mcnatty (2-0, 0.87) is dominating as the setup reliever. Institute League The Shroud are on top of the CBO and two games up on Concord in the IL. Lexington is above .500, followed by Sunshine Tidings, Cambridge, and Bunker Hill and Starlight tied for 6th. Every team went 6-4 or 4-6 in their last 10. One of the teams that went 6-4 in their last 10 is the Killers. That may be because they solved their main pitching issue: coaching. Starlight fired PC Tombstone Costner on April 17 and hiring veteran coach Corey Young in his place. The Killers are still 14th in runs allowed (167), Starters ERA (5.97) and Bullpen ERA (6.87). Two players who have not struggled are ace Mercury Morris (3-3, 3.00) and closer Wizard Albutt (4 SV, 0.96). In the batter's box, the Killers are tied for 7th in runs scored (131). Rookie LF DJ Shark (.337/5/20) is the current team Triple Crown leader. Minutemen League The Hancocks are two games up on the SCA's top record and three games up on both Southie and favorite Jamaica Plain in the ML. Those three teams are the only ones above .500 at the 26-game mark. University Point and Quincy are knotted up for 4th place, while Atom and Spectacle Island are tied for 6th. The Atom Cats are coming off five-straight seasons making the playoffs, including ML crowns in 2313 and 2316. Last season, they got off to a terrible start, making people think they had fallen. However, the Cats recovered and climbed up to a 2nd place finish and the 4th seed in the playoffs. Atom is struggling again this season tied for last place but only six back of the SCA's top team. The Cats are tied for 11th in runs scored (109) and tied for 9th in runs allowed (124). 2B Lee Mayhew (.333/3/8) is the team leader in average and tied for the team lead with C Tawfiq Kibowen (.157/3/8) in homers. LF Gremlin T. Squearfish (.326/2/15) leads in RBI. Both SPs Josh Brown (1-2, 3.79) and Mesquite Williams (3-1, 3.38) have ERAs below 4.00. Railroad League This is currently the tightest league with five games separating 1st from 7th. At the moment, Diamond City and Vault 81 are tied for 1st at 15-11. Roxbury is just a game back. At 13-13, both Glowing Sea and FHE are tied for 4th. Egret is in 6th, and Oberland is in 7th with the SCA's worst record despite going 6-4 in their last 10. Swatters pitching is again helping them to a potential high playoff spot. Diamond City is 1st in runs allowed (90), Starters ERA (3.31), and Bullpen ERA (2.58). Unfortunately, those fortunes may change with both SPs Dropper Millieu (1-1, 2.48) and Beachboy Nut (2-0, 2.39) on the injured list. Elastic Man Haley (2-2, 1.99) is currently helping to hold down the numbers, while the top two pitchers, Macho Lopez (2-4, 4.10) and Heaven Fontenot (1-2, 4.14) are struggling. CL Machine Beard (7 SV, 1.50) has been money. The best two hitters for the team tied for 11th in runs scored (109) have been rookie RF Teng Dgebuadze (.301/6/13) and 3B Hey Dentra Venski (.287/5/9). CBO Standings CBO Players of the Week April 29 - This week he took his hitting to another level. That's why Blaine Stabb of the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud was named the North Charles Association Player of the Week. For the week the 26-year-old right fielder batted .522 (12-for-23) with 3 home runs, 8 runs and 8 RBIs. This season, Stabb is batting .451 with 23 hits and 4 home runs. He has scored 16 times and has 12 RBI. This week Rock Rampage, shortstop for the University Point Deathclaws, hit everything in sight to win the South Charles Association Player of the Week trophy. He rattled fences and pitchers as he banged out a .448 average and .484 on-base percentage. Rampage logged 13 hits in 29 at-bats, 4 home runs, 7 RBIs, 1 walk and scored 9 times. This season, Rampage is batting .416 with 5 home runs. His totals include 13 RBIs and 16 runs scored. May 6 - When it came to hitting the baseball, Zap Mast was in a class by himself in the North Charles Association this past week. Nobody did it better. The outstanding third baseman for The Slog tagged opposing pitchers for a .500 average and was voted the Player of the Week Award. Included in his stats were 11 hits in 22 at-bats, 1 homers, 4 runs scored and 3 RBIs. This season in 24 games, Mast is batting .370 with 3 home runs, 9 RBIs and has scored 14 times. It was an extraordinary week for Pockets Wrench of the Vault 81 Dwellers. First he goes on a hot hitting streak, batting .500, then he is voted the Player of the Week in the South Charles Association. Last week Wrench went 13-for-26, racked up 4 home runs and 10 RBIs and scored 10 runs. It was a heck of a week for the Vault 81 right fielder. This season, Wrench is batting .365 with 6 home runs. CBO Noteworthy News April 25 - Sources in Starlight close to Willy Mazehaze report that the right fielder will retire once the season is over. Mazehaze is hitting at a .261 rate over his 1676-game career. Lifetime he has 300 doubles, 68 triples and 78 home runs with 517 RBIs and 1014 runs scored. April 28 - Back-back-back-gone! Ken Debate hit his 400th home run tonight against the Roxbury Rad Sox. Debate, of the Jamaica Plain Red Rockets, smiled as he rounded all the bases and got mobbed by his teammates at home plate. The game did stop momentarily as the Red Rockets celebrated this accomplishment. "I was swinging for the fences and the pitch looked like a giant grape fruit," Debate said. "This is another check off my bucket list. I'll now be setting my sights the next milestone." The Red Rockets left fielder went 1 for 4 with 1 home run and 3 runs batted in as the Jamaica Plain Red Rockets won 16-1 over the Roxbury Rad Sox. Debate has registered a career batting average of .298 with 1602 hits, 400 homers and 1073 RBIs. April 29 - The Oberland T-51s topped the Vault 81 Dwellers by a score of 12-9 at CURIE Inc. Field, but all the talk was centered on second baseman Jalen Taylor. The Oberland star hit for the cycle in a show-stealing performance, powering his club to the win. Taylor went 4-for-5, collecting 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run to go along with 3 runs batted in and 4 runs scored. "I felt comfortable at the plate in a way I haven't felt all season," Taylor said after the game. "It was like they were throwing beach balls at me - the ball seemed that big. And it just floated in." Jalen Taylor grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Exxie Summerset in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and hit an RBI triple in the 9th. Taylor is hitting .306 this year with 1 home run, 6 RBIs and 10 runs scored. He has 22 hits in 72 at-bats, 12 walks and a .405 on-base percentage. Taylor has played in 20 games. May 3 - Starlight is reporting positive returns from the CBO's worst pitching staff. With the addition of Corey Young, players have reported a bit more adequacy in their pitching control. "I can feel the difference already in what Coach Young is showing us," Killers ace Mercury Morris said, following his three-hit complete-game shutout of Bunker Hill in a 6-0 win. "My pitches feel like they hit my target 100% more than before." May 4 - Roxbury and Malden announced today in a joint press conference that 25-year old LF Jose Cunningham will be going to the Grognaks in exchange for 25-year old RHP Toto Yanagi and 23-year old SS Kevin Deux-Gas. "It'll be exciting to join a new organization," one player said. "Some of us could use a fresh start." The players have each passed physicals and are expected to report by day's end. Thus far this year, Cunningham is hitting .160 with no home runs, 1 RBIs and no runs scored. Deux-Gas currently has a .308 batting average with 12 hits, 0 homers, 5 RBIs, 6 runs scored and a .364 OBP. May 4 - The Sunshine Tidings Chemists stopped the Starlight Killers, 9-1, and Red Jay Jones collected a base hit yet again. The Sunshine Tidings catcher finished with 1 hit to run his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20. "I want to get a hit every time up," a visibly excited Jones told reporters after the contest. "I want to get a hit every game I play. Right now, I feel like I could take this streak to 100 games." Red Jay Jones flied out in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Phil Pearlman in the 4th, flied out in the 6th and flied out in the 8th. This season, Jones has delivered 31 hits in 87 at-bats for a .356 average with 4 home runs. He is getting on base at a .371 clip and his totals also include 12 RBIs and 14 runs scored. This year Jones has played in 19 games. May 4 - The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys are in need of a manager. They fired Jason Bassfish today. Contacted at home by BNN, Bassfish admitted that there was some tension over his departure, but that it was "probably for the best." When pressed, Bassfish was bullish about his future: "We had our ups and we had our downs, but right now I am focusing on the next stage of my career... wherever that may be. I still love the game of baseball and still think I can do the job. The Party Boys are not the only team in the world." Nordhagen Beach has named Drac Jaskula as the replacement. Jaskula was Vault 81's manager from 2309-2316, which included a Sole Survivor Series victory in 2315.

Season Pass Association
---------------------------------------------------------- Nuka News Update Reporting on the NWL and APL by Evan Guy 6 May 2318 Victory, Dark Expected to Rematch The end of the Nuka World League is getting more and more real as we enter the -2 season, meaning that there are only two seasons left before the league is swallowed into the Greater Boston Rookie League. Predicting this season, PAM thinks that both the Victory Cave Crickets and Dark Bloodworms will rematch from the 2317 season in the Nuka Series. The Bloodworms won last season's matchup, 4 games to 3. In the North Bradberton Divisiom, the Cave Crivkets are expected to beat out Grape by seven games, while Wild and Quantum are expected to finish double digits games back. The South Bradberton looks similar, with the Bloodworms favored by seven games over Quartz and both Orange and Cherry more than 10 games back. On the CBO watch, there are a few players that appear to be on the map to get absorbed into the CBO. Players from the NWL will supposedly be a part of an "Expansion Draft" similar to the one the CBO held when it moved from 24 teams to 28. While no player is at the level of A-Train Gilmore, who was included in a special trade window to move to a CBO team, a few of the players named on the list of players to watch include the following who rate at AAA/CBO backup level: CL Montavious Wall, Cherry, 25 - Could move to a CBO team, but considered to be the most-talented CBO-possible player in the NWL. RP Snacks Arana, Victory, 25 - Relievers seem to be most plentiful in their ability. Arana only has Wall in his way to the CBO. LF Lip Durocher, Victory, 25 - Durocher came to the NWL in the Gilmore trade, and he is likely to be a career AAA starter or CBO backup in the OF. he was originally an 8th round pick (2310) for Salem. 2B Bubba Shrimp, Wild, 26 - Shrimp could already be a utility man on a CBO team, taking up innings as a defensive replacement. Scouts have bee torn on him since he came to the Commonwealth from the American South nearly eight years ago. Atom signed him after a tryout but supposedly did it to "kill his waiver slot," meaning that any team (Wild) could claim him. As a player in the NWL, he may be one of the Five All-Time Greats. CF Allen Capone, Victory, 25 - The Cave Crickets have a few CBO-worthy mid-20s players, and Capone fits that bill. Of course, Capone was also a part of the Gilmore trade, showing how Victory loaded up with AAA-level talent to send a legit star in Gilmore away. Capone was looking decent with the Egret Ninjas of the CBO before the trade, hitting .372 in 15 games in 2316. Top Prospects While the NWL does still exist, so does the Amusement Park League. Here are the top prospects entering 2318: The season is about to start, so it's time to publish the annual BNN Top 100 Prospects list. This year, 26 year-old 1B Verne Nomean of the Orange Tourists is the #1 prospect overall. Here is the top 10: 1) 1B Verne Nomean, 26, Orange Tourists 2) RF Boise Wells, 26, Orange Tourists 3) RHP Music Box Braggart, 21, Dark Bloodworms 4) RHP Atomshade Berkovic, 20, Quantum Nukalurks 5) SS Lookie Lou Quinberg, 22, Wild Gatorclaws 6) LF Stack McKnight, 26, Quantum Nukalurks 7) RHP Cruise Bruiser, 22, Cherry Ghoulrillas 8) 1B Veronce Vaultsworn, 26, Orange Tourists 9) LF Fant Bigfoot, 23, Quantum Nukalurks 10) RHP Winn Adami, 21, Orange Tourists ---------------------------------------------------------- Vim! View News of the Vim! League and Its Affiliates by Jimmy Gresham Dalton Farm, Far Harbor Picked to Meet in Vim! Series It's a new Vim! League season, and it is guaranteed to be the best season ever! The Dalton Farm Fog Crawlers are predicted to make their fourth-straight and 10th-overall Vim! Series, facing the Far Harbor Ghoul Whales, who are seeking their 8th appearance and first since 2315 when they defeted the Fog Crawlers. Dalton Farm defeated Acadia in 2316 and Grand Hotel in 2317 for the last two championships. At least one of Dalton Farm and the Ghoul Whales have been in the Vim! Series in 14 of the 17 seasons of the NWL. Only 2309 (Grand Hotel over Echo Lake), 2313 (Eden Meadows over Acadia), and 2314 (Acadia over National Park) have excluded both the Crawlers and Gwhales. Expected top players are LF Castor Puzzlemaker of Echo Lake and SP Fick Aragvsky of Dalton Farm. Aragvsky was the 2317 Top Arm Award winner. Grand Hotel's John Swinton won the MVP Award in 2317. Puzzlemaker signed with Echo Lake after sitting out the 2317 season. He played briefly with Spectacle Island of the CBO in 2316. There are not currently a lot of Vim! League players that receive the "AAA" scouting report. Looking at our list of players, only two players show up on the list as prospects: CL Putt Putt Ashburn of Far Harbor and Eden Meadows' 21-year-old RP Daryl Holden. Some players may matchup more at the AA level in scouting reports, like 2B Swinton, 21, last season's MVP. I believe that the best baseball is on Mount Desert Island, but those fancy scouts of the OSA disagree. Top Prospects 2318 The season is about to start, so it's time to publish the annual BNN Top 100 Prospects list. This year, 25 year-old RHP Tram Reznicek of the Far Harbor Ghoul Whales is the #1 prospect overall. Here is the top 10: 1) RHP Tram Reznicek, 25, Far Harbor Ghoul Whales 2) RHP Daryl Holden, 21, Eden Meadows Anglers 3) RHP Minny Mink, 22, Eden Meadows Anglers 4) RHP Rakel Majni, 23, Grand Hotel Atoms 5) RF Dud Berry, 21, Cranberry Island Hermit Crabs 6) RHP Gaius Mohlam, 23, Cranberry Island Hermit Crabs 7) SS Miguel Askew, 21, Echo Lake Harbormen 8) C Amir Ross, 21, Echo Lake Harbormen 9) 2B Andy Bursill, 23, Eden Meadows Anglers 10) CF Junkyard Bataille, 20, Acadia Acadians
