You're crazy good at these faces. I had done a Joe Lefebvre that looked awful in comparison haha!
Could you take a stab at the early 80s George Brett? Same issue on this one when I make it is that he looks really fat. Smiling sources are tough for me. ![]()

Brett is my facegen nemesis. I'll give him another go this weekend. Swamped with the paying day job atm.
For bloated facegens, check two things. 1. The in-game height and weight. Sometimes OOTP will add weight as player age for the sake of "realism" but as a practical matter, it just messes up the facegen. To unbloat a player, knock his weight down by 5 lbs. Or, if you are making a facegen to the in-game height and weight - and those are in-line with BBR, to reduce the bloat... 2. Make him heavier using the Face - heavy/light slider. I know it seems like you should make them thinner via that slider - but you are fighting the game at that point. The game adds facial bloat if it thinks the facegen file it has been provided is incongruent with the in-game height and weight. So, walk up the slider (to the heavy side) until the face sheds the bloat. Once the bloat is shed, if it still looks a bit plump, adjust the Jaw thin/wide slider and make it thinner. You can add nuance with the jawline concave slider, the cheeks round slider, the face roundness slider and even the front page demographic slider. But bloat is tied strictly to the Face - heavy/light slider setting vs height/weight. it also makes a difference if you use something like 215lbs which might bloat at certain heights or 214lbs which may not. There are definite lines of demarcation. Also, when moving the slider, go up/down by .50 increments and then back off, reloading to see where the line is for that face. As for smiles, I have an infinite number of credits at: ailabtools.com/image-editor/ to eliminate them. I paid the flat fee some time ago for that and I make so many it is worth it. I think they let you do a few free ones per day though. The de-smiler is via AI Portraits>Face Attributes and then I'm partial to the new "Be Cool" option whereas before it used to only be "forced smile". But the "Be Cool" is much better. Oh, and with regards to people coming out too red or orange or whatever - do white balancing or adjustments in photo software edits BEFORE making the facegen. It is way more effective to address that stuff in the source file before making the facegen. The orange/purple/red sliders in the facegen software can only do so much correcting. Also, general advice, don't neglect the asymmetry or shape sliders before you are done. They matter.

I’m glad to read you say you’ve struggled with him as well! I have done several
Versions of him over the years and it never looks right. |

Hey Lans, I guess I got one more for ya, if you wanna give this one a shot over the weekend as well: Brian Downing w/glasses. I know glasses can be challenging to make them show up well on a facegen.

Last one for the week:
Mark McGwire before he went gray. The current facegen has gray beard. https://www.gettyimages.com/detail/n...photo/52626618 https://www.gettyimages.com/detail/n...hoto/110348101 |

Thanks for posting it. Here he is on a PC. This should be the one in the pack. There is a touch a gray at the bottom of the goatee but it's not the coach version of him if that is what is loading.
I'll tackle the requests over the weekend

Victor I Diaz
Lans,
I cannot find Victor Israel Diaz in the facegen database. His HMID is diaz--003vic. There are two other Victor Diaz's, but they both match to players who never made the bigs. Could we please get Victor I in the fg? |

Jose Valverde
Much of the show Valverde puts on is connected to the fact he's one of the most superstitious players in a game where almost everybody is highly superstitious.
He must chew three pieces of gum beginning in the seventh inning. And before jogging in from the bullpen, he sprays out a mouthful of water. Then, he runs in, slapping his thigh with his cap and skipping off the outfield grass onto the infield dirt. He picks up the ball near the mound and throws it to the umpire, awaiting his request for another ball. Once he has the new ball, he goes to the back of the mound and turns his back to the batter while going into something of an Incredible Hulk busting-out-of-his-shirt stance before spitting the gum out toward second base. What is on his mind during all of this? "Nothing," he said. "I just want to be quick on the mound and get three outs and go home." - mlive.com One of the Diamondbacks first signings, here's a revised Big Potato, Jose Valverde. He should be heavy enough per the facegen slider that the game won't auto-plump him up with bloat.

Victor I. Diaz
The Victor Diaz Fan Club, if one existed, could rejoice yesterday.
On the day Diaz arrived back in the big leagues, manager Willie Randolph provided the strongest indication yet that the Mets’ promising young hitter would be with the team for the long haul. “As the summer goes on, we’re probably going to use Victor,” Randolph said before last night’s game with the Marlins. Diaz, a 23-year-old power hitter built like a powder keg, was recalled when outfielder Eric Valent was designated for assignment late Friday. Diaz batted .294 with three homers and eight RBIs in a 15-game cup of coffee in 2004. In 28 games this year, he batted an identical .294 with 17 runs, seven doubles, four homers and 15 RBIs. “He just has incredible power to all fields,” Mets third baseman David Wright said. “He has a great idea of what he’s doing at the plate. He’s a great situational hitter. For the most part, he makes contact. He’s a big boost to the ballclub.” The issue at hand is whether Diaz’s development will be hampered as the team’s fourth outfielder, or whether he’s better suiting playing every day in Triple-A. He batted .194 in nine games at Norfolk. Diaz is not quite a finished product, and there’s a good chance he could get rusty on the bench when Beltran returns. But it sounded like he has a key supporter in Randolph. “So he does a lot of things for you, but he’s still obviously young. He needs to work and grow, but the fact that he’s here with this staff, he’s going to learn.” Said Diaz: “I’ve always said I think I should be here. All I can do is work hard and prove I belong here.” - NY Post, May 29, 2005

Brian Downing
Brian Downing bumps into a high school or junior college teammate. They ask him the same question.
"They'll say, 'How did you ever make it? ' " Downing said Wednesday. "They tell me, 'You were terrible. You couldn't play. ' " Those words have followed Downing for more than a generation. That Downing finds himself starting well with the Rangers at age 40 after a career full of injuries and a short spring training is remarkable. That Downing sneaked into professional baseball and exceeded his goal of lasting two weeks helps explain this new force within the Rangers. "If you put Brian Downing's heart in a lion," former teammate Reggie Jackson said, "the lion would be tougher for it. " Hard times and rejection toughened the heart. Downing did not make the varsity baseball team at Anaheim (Calif.) Magnolia High School until his senior year. He walked on at nearby Cypress Junior College and rode the bench for one season. Baseball was his life, but the passion was unrequited. Downing was small - 5-8 and 160 pounds as a high school senior - and lacked the talent to impress high school and junior college coaches. One man saw Downing differently. Bill Lentini worked for the Chicago White Sox as a "bird dog," a part-time scout who haunted amateur games in Orange County searching for the hidden jewel. Lentini liked Downing for his grit and vowed to find him a professional contract. The first time the White Sox saw Downing, they thought Lentini had lost his mind." Brian was this scrawny guy back then," said Baltimore general manager Roland Hemond, then a White Sox executive. "I asked Bill what he saw in him, and he said, "This kid is so aggressive. He loves to play. ' "Bill Lentini might have been the only person who believed in Brian. It's like he's been on a crusade his whole career to prove Bill Lentini was right. Tough to get the glasses to show, perc...

Here's a go with the Biggio eye black. Ran out of daylight this evening but I know I still owe some Brett iterations.
No need to do anything other than add the suffix -eb at the end of the existing historical minors ID via the player editor.
