I wonder how long it would take the City of Toronto to pay the bond off on that one?

When I import the .obj file for this one, I can see the crowd, but the entire field is blackened out. I haven't run into this issue with any of your other recent re-designs. Anything I'm doing wrong, or some type of texture I might be missing?

I am working on some new stadium packs for SFGiant58's new output, but in the process I went back to Chickasaw Bricktown and made a few more tweaks. You can find the new pictures in the post, which you can find here: Chickasaw Bricktown Remodel

SFGiants58 is back at it with his defunct saga, so I made a few more logo packs for his most recent designs.

Christchurch, NZ - Avonhead Park

Gregisawesome has been creating some interesting ABL teams, and I wanted to create a few stadiums to go along with them. The first is Avonhead park in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Port Adelaide, AUS - EP Nazeer Park

Next up is EP Nazeer Park in Port Adelaide. The actual park has the indoor batting cage and pitcher area - they are on the third base side of the stadium.

For Albuquerque in my game, I changed the background to a more pleasing downtown ABQ with a mountain backdrop, while of course keeping the original Spanish Colonial building in CF. Is this new building picture just a portion of a background photo or are they two separate pictures? i.e., can I keep my existing background but also change to the new building picture in CF?

EDIT: I didn't know this question was going to end up far away from the post about the updated Hi Corbett Field post. So, to be clear, I am referring to the Hi Corbett Field update.

This stadium rendering should be submitted to the city of Toronto and Jays mangement. This is the ballpark they should be playing in. I remembered being awed by SkyDome when it was first built, but it's so outdated now. It's basically a cookie cutter from the 70's with a retractable roof.

They are two separate photos, so you should be able to change out the skyline and not have it impact the mission. Let me know if you have any problems!

Thanks! It was a lot of fun to make too. I think the Skydome is probably the stadium most in need of an upgrade, and the advantage of doing it in OOTP is that the good people of Ontario don't need to pay for it.

Angel Stadium Renovation

If you have been following stadium news closely, you know that the City of Anaheim recently sold Arte Moreno the 153 acres around Angel Stadium for less than the cost of one Mike Trout Contract. There have been a lot of rumors about what the redevelopment will look like, including a possible environment like Ballpark Village in St. Louis. I decided to take a run at a renovation of Angel Stadium.

The park itself is in the spirit of the old donuts and was once the host for the NFL Rams as well as the Angels, so I decided to renovate it and make it feel more baseball specific. One thing I decided to do was bring back some of the spirit of the old Wrigley Field (the LA Version). I chopped off the top deck and redid the exterior in the spirit of the old Wrigley Field, including a bell tower behind first base:

I built up the surrounding area with a few businesses and other apartment building structures.

I decided to do some more extensive renovations of the outfield area. In left I added a Mission building (... my favorite type of building to add) and I brought the old Angel Stadium A back into center field.

In right I took out some bleachers and added a warehouse style building as well as a party deck (because that's how we will get the millennials...):

The stadium has the same dimensions as the actual Angel Stadium, so the park factors remain the same. You can simply load the .obj in the Angel Stadium field if you want to use it in game, or you can load the .prk file.

Newcastle, AUS - Boomerang Baseball Park

Gregisawesome released another team for his Australian Baseball League expansion, so I wanted to whip up another stadium to go with his league. This one is based off the aptly named Boomerang Baseball Field outside Newcastle. It's pretty deep to center, so it's good for speedy slap hitters.

Brooklyn, NY - Dodger Dome

In MLB what-ifs, the Dodgers staying in Brooklyn ranks pretty high. A key part of that proposal was to build a dome to replace Ebbets Field in the now location of the Barclay's Center. Robert Moses refused planning permission, killing the project and sending the Dodgers west.

There have been a few requests for this specific stadium, so I though I would throw one together for everyone's alternative histories. The dome was supposed to have had 52,000 seats and natural grass. My guess is that they would have figured out what the Astros did and transitioned to astroturf, so I put that in instead. The stadium was supposed to be 380 feet the entire way around, so the stadium will have a lot of doubles and triples and not a lot of home runs.

A couple more concept stadiums that might be interesting - In 1965 there was a dome stadium proposal for the Boston Red Sox. Also there were proposals in regards to building the New Yankee Stadium with a retractable roof.

nielsoncp: thanks for all the stadiums, great stuff. One question, do you plan on doing any "generic" versions of some or any of the stadiums?

Great work as always, Nielsoncp! The Dodger Dome is spectacular! Can't to see more 'what-ifs' especially modern evolution on classic ballparks like Shibe Park, Sportsmans Park, Forbes Field, KC Municipal Stadium & more.

Hey Leroy! Thanks for asking. I don't really make any "generic" stadiums because I think place is a key part for stadiums. BUT, the graphics in everything I make can be easily modded. There's a video on the first page that gives an overview of the process, and I include templates with everything, so it should be easily moddable for you.
