San Francisco Sparrowhawks
Hawks for short. The main character in Earthsea is named Sparrowhawk, Ursula Le Guin is from the Bay Area, there is also a rainbow version. I drew the bay bridge and the hawk

San Francisco Quail
Was originally a quail-themed team idea, I replaced it with the sparrowhawk, then redid it as a minor league team of itself
I should alter this with the landmark of another California city so it can be a minor league team in a different city Last edited by 20_range; 12-03-2024 at 10:30 PM. |

Thanks kevin -- now that I think about it I should probably reread always coming home for the full research on how to make a quail-themed team
there's amazing illustrations in that one. The font on the Sparrowhawks is from the earthsea first editions1b2b - sure, same colors? Portland Gatherers or another name? |

Portland Gatherers and Milwaukee Gatherers again
I found when I went back into that file that I had made another one with a different font, which I think is better, so here are the Milwaukee Gatherers slightly improved.
For Portland I did two, one flipped over, in case someone wanted one of these teams to be a minor league team of the other. |

I forgot to mention that my friend wanted to try to sell daytime soap tshirts he makes, so he made a print-on-demand account on redbubble. I put some of my things there, just a couple of the defunct real minor league teams I've done, Hartford Dark Blues, Denver White Elephants.
This would be in the hope of some person googling one of those old real names, determined to buy a shirt for the Reading Coal Heavers. Like once a year that might happen. It exists now, in the unlikely event someone wants something.

Rome Aquile / Eagles
somehow in January 2025 I have drawn an eagle. It goes into the grandfather of eagle-imperial imagery, Rome
(bbgiovanni, if you see this, feel free to correct this google translate Italian if necessary) It's supposed to be various shades of gold and imperial snail purple. Last edited by 20_range; 01-05-2025 at 09:27 PM. |

Brooklyn Tip-Tops
The Federal League Brooklyn Tip-Tops. This hat on a ball could become almost anything, this is one use I thought of for it. It's based on an old Dodgers press pin that I redrew.
When I first found that link (see earlier in this thread), that was one of the images I wanted to use, but I couldn't make it right with the tools I was using (autotracing over several times in different shades and layering them). Now I know how to just redraw/manually trace over things. There's a good fictional concept for this logo of some kind, but I couldn't think of it. The Tip-Tops were Damon Runyon-ish enough for me, the logo really wants to be like the Chicago Outfit or something, or something better, but I haven't thought of it yet. If anyone has ideas or requests of course let me know. Last edited by 20_range; 01-16-2025 at 10:51 PM. |

Hey 20, any interest in taking on a logo for the Little Rock 9? Trying to finish out my fictional league and using a lot of you and Kevin's logos.
There is a serious dearth of good Little Rock logos out there.
