Bobby Parnell
Noah Syndergaard doesn’t laugh about the incident, but four months after the fact, he considers his spring-training lunch miscue as something that helped him develop a major league mindset.
Then the Mets’ top pitching prospect, Syndergaard was eating lunch in the clubhouse during an intrasquad scrimmage in Port St. Lucie, Fla., in February, when team captain David Wright approached and recommended he return to the dugout. As a point of emphasis, Bobby Parnell grabbed Syndergaard’s plate of food and tossed it in the trash. - NY Post "If a kid's not playing nice, you take his toys away,'' Parnell told Newsday. Unwritten clubhouse rules are weird. Here's Parnell.

Jon Niese
This pretty much is the biggest story to be coming out of Mets-land this week, considering how many numerous outlets are talking about it. But long story short, Beltran gave Niese a bunch of grief about his big schnozz, and it apparently bothered him so much that he offered to pay for a nose job. Niese said "hey cool, free nose job," and took the free rhinoplasty, which has shrunken his nose ever so slightly, but more importantly, improved his breathing. This physical upgrade has given Niese improved cardiovascular capabilities, and although they didn't say the magic acronym, he has reported to camp ten pounds lighter. Think Carlos Beltran will be laughing when Niese frustrates him and the Cardinals with his outside corner nibbling and curveballs, deeper into games? - NY Daily News

Definitely not a must-do, just could use a makeover: George Frazier. Fun fact, from '82-'84, Frazier threw 335 IP in relief!

Yet a couple more requests: young Bobby Grich and young Rich Coggins.

I have done a ton of coaches/managers from 70s-90s. Is it worth uploading for you to review to add to your pack?

I ended up finding the 'stache-less Grich, but I have another request instead, in addition to Frazier and Coggins: a young Dick Tidrow, for early 70's games.

Hey Lands, here is another manager I struggle with: Sparky Anderson.
The one in the pack seems to be a miscolored version of him from the 70s *unless I have the wrong one*. Anyway you could update to an 80s/90s version? ![]() |

George "Sparky'' Anderson (manager)
No manager in baseball history was more true to his nickname than George "Sparky'' Anderson. No manager ever loved the game more than Sparky. No manager did the job with the same relentless energy and enthusiasm as Sparky. No manager smiled as often as Sparky. No manager was more of a gentleman than Sparky. No manager was nicer than Sparky. Late in his career, Anderson asked the media to start calling him by his given name, George, saying no man in his 50s should be called Sparky. But it never took. He was and always will be Sparky. - espn
Don't worry, he smiles when happy. Looks angrier than irl Sparky as I adjusted the smile to make the facegen. Managers are tough. Facegen doesn't like making older faces.

George Frazier
George Frazier pitched for 10 years in the major leagues and appeared in 415 games, all in relief. In fact, his only start as a professional ballplayer came in 1978 as a member of the Triple-A Springfield Cardinals. Every other game — 631 in the majors and minors — was out of the bullpen. Frazier had a 35-42 record in the majors, with 29 saves and a 4.20 ERA. He struck out 449 batters in 675-2/3 innings and walked 313. He had a lifetime 96 ERA+ and a WHIP of 1.430.
Frazier, in his retirement, came clean about his illegal pitches. He claimed that Yankees manager, Billy Martin told him to learn the spitball or go back to the minors. The pitcher said that he’d do it, as long as Martin paid the fines. “I had a wife and kids. I wasn’t making the kind of money they’re making today. I couldn’t afford it,” Frazier explained. Frazier also said that he was taught the finer points of illegal pitches by Gaylord Perry, after Perry saw Frazier attempting to use a spitter against his Seattle Mariners. “He told me, ‘C’mere, you look terrible loading this thing up. Let me show you a couple tricks.’ He taught me how to hide it,” Frazier recalled. Frazier never relied on the spitter too much, but the fact that he had it was another weapon in his arsenal. “I always told opposing hitters I was going to throw it. Dave Parker and I are good friends, and I’d tell Dave, ‘Any time you see me touch my skin it’s coming.’ And so, he would always call time and check the ball, and of course I wouldn’t have anything on it. Then I’d throw the spitter on the next pitch. You always look for advantages like that.” - ripbaseball The old one was good but as requested, I redid the CUF one with one of mine making.

Rich Coggins
A black cat encountered outfielder Rich Coggins during winter ball in Puerto Rico. One season while Coggins was mired in a slump and personal problems, a black cat walked in front of his car several days in a row. “Before that, I was never superstitious about black cats. Then I started entertaining that superstition and letting it bother me,” Coggins admitted. Later while Coggins was arriving at a Burger King, a black cat came to rest in front of his car. Exiting the car and slowly approaching the cat, Coggins asked, “Why are you on me?” The cat stayed put and stared at him. Coggins spoke to it some more, then walked away, as did the cat. “I realized as I talked to it both good and evil are around and that you have to deal with them. It became a challenge to overcome my problems rather than sulking. Now I understand black cats,” Coggins concluded. - sabr
The old pic is from his Yankee days at the end of his career. He had a lesser stash in his Oriole days.

Isaac Collins
The Brewers announced this morning that they’ve selected the contract of infielder/outfielder Isaac Collins. Collins, 27, was a ninth-round pick by the Rockies back in 2019 and has yet to make his major league debut. The Brewers plucked him from Colorado in the minor league phase of the 2022 Rule 5 Draft, and he’s spent the past two seasons in the upper levels of Milwaukee’s minor league system. He’s performed well in his first full season at Triple-A this year, with a .273/.386/.475 slash line in 500 trips to the plate. He’s supplemented that solid production at the plate with impressive baserunning (24 steals in 29 attempts) and the versatility to play second base, third base, and all over the outfield. He’ll now get the opportunity to prove himself at the big-league level with the Brewers as the regular season winds down. -mlbtraderumors
I'll look at him again if he gets a spring training photo, but this should work for now.

Lans, in case you wanted to, I found a couple more photos of a young Dick Tidrow that might work better for facegen. Nothing great out there from the first 3 years of his career, tho.

Clean-Shaven Dick Tidrow
Hi perc,
I think the '73 Topps card remains the best option. Here's my go at him. Note the extension on his Historical Minors ID includes -cs (for clean shaven) at the end so just add those to his early Cleveland years and it will grab this one. Obviously, the pack is keeping the 'stache one as the default. It's a classic mustache. ![]()
