Record: 30-25, 4th, 4.5 GB Cedar Rapids
Tied 1-1, Daniel Becerra hit a grand slam to highlight a five-run top of the third inning for St. Louis, and the River Walkers poured it on from there routing Akron 16-1 at Candlestick Park (1993).

The first run scored when Jose Ramirez drew a bases-loaded walk from Flying Feet starting pitcher Orland Claude.
Claude issued two walks, hit a batter in the inning, in addition to being taken deep by Becerra.
St. Louis added a single run in the fourth -- Will Banfield led off with a double off reliever Braxton Ashcraft and scored on a Freudis Nova ground out -- and two more in the sixth -- A RBI double from rookie starting pitcher Kyle Smarr and a run-scoring single from Eric Peretz -- to up its lead to 9-1.
