New Homerun King
A regular season record fell with a Herm McFarland blast that marked his 10th homerun of the season. In passing Sam Mertes, McFarland still has several more weeks of baseball that he can use to pad his season record. He currently ranks tied for 2nd place on the all-time career list behind "Wahoo Sam" Crawford.
