Hector Luis Patri - JFly career replay
I decided to replay Hector Luis Patri's career to add some JFly's to the game. Most of the fighters added will be rated 1 and some of these 1's will be terrible. I stole this idea from Rocco's Zech replay and found it to be an entertaining way to add fighters missing from the game. I can't remember if Patri was in the original data base or someone's creation. After testing Patri, his ratings appear to be right on so I left his ratings alone.
Patri's first fight.... 1977-12-07, La Plata, Argentina vs. Jose Zarate 0-3-0 (0) career record Actual results - Patri wins by KO1, in my replay Patri wins by KO7 in a very dull fight. Not many punches thrown until the seventh round when Patri lands only three shots to put Zarate down for the count. |

Thanks Conn & Rocco. Yes Rocco, I'm having a blast rating fighters by doing a replay instead of just picking guys at random to rate. I find that rating fighters this way, I have alot more interest in them rather than just picking someone and see who he fought in the game and run thousands of test fights. Once again Rocco, Thanks for your replay idea.

Roberto Perez - Lightweight
ROBERTO PEREZ (photo in other thread)
Hometown - Houston, Texas 1(1)-16-0 Perez fought infrequently from 1974 to 1983 as a lightweight in Texas. His string of knockout losses included beatings at the hands of Sean O'Grady and Ruben Castillo. Ten years and fifty pounds after his first retirement, Perez traveled to MA to take a heavyweight bout against Peter McNeeley. Surprisingly, Perez lasted to the third round which says more about McNeeley than it does about Perez' skills.

Erwin Williams - Lhw
ERWIN WILLIAMS (photo in other thread)
10(7)-4-1 Hometown - San Carlos, California Williams was a marginal local fighter in the San Francisco area. Erwin had a little power and a fair chin: he was stopped only three times and none earlier than the fourth round. He fought as both a light-heavy and a middleweight. He TKO'd James Waire at the middleweight level to take the California Title in 1981.

CONNIE CURRY - 20's Bantamweight
CONNIE CURRY (photo in other thread)
Hometown - Siox City, Iowa 9(2)-5-6; 4 NC Curry had a brief but interesting career during the roaring twenties. Connie was a contemporary of Newsboy Brown (Davie Montrose) both growing up and learning to box in Sioux City. Curry became a local favorite when he was called on to join Jack Dempsey's vacation camp in Great Falls, Montana while Dempsey was perparing for a World Heavyweight Title defense against Tommy Gibbons. Curry and Newsboy Brown knew each other well and faced each other officialy as professionals on five occations. The results were a ten round decision for each, one draw and two no contests for the series. Curry was a good defensive fighter who went the distance in all of his bouts with the exception of his two knockout victories and his lone stoppage to Pete Sarmiento. The referee stopped the Sarmiento bout in the sixth due to a broken hand suffered by Curry in the fifth.

Johnny Vacca
JOHNNY VACCA (photo in other thread)
Born - Italy Hometown - Boston, MA 30(2)-21-5; 2 NC Vacca's record is deceptive due to the quality of the opponents that he faced. He squared off against the best of his era: Panama Al Brown, Kid Chocolate, Fidel LaBarba, Newsboy Brown and Pete Zivic. Most Impressive were Vacca's three bouts with Fidel LaBarba. Although the title was not on the line, Vacca defeated LaBarba in two consecutive 10 round decisions early in 1927. When they met for a third time in August of the same year, LaBarba got the better winning a 10 round decision. In between the first two and the final fights with LaBarba, Vacca faced Newsboy Brown in Los Angeles for what both hoped would be a launch pad to the World Flyweight Title. Brown won a ten round decision, but LaBarba was in the midst of stalling with the title in his back pocket as he took eight consecutive non-title bouts including the three with Vacca. Vacca had a tough time financialy, despite his good showings in the ring and for much of his career worked the Boston streets with his trained monkey as an organ grinder to make ends meet.

LW Tomato Can
JOSE TALAMANTEZ (photo in other thread)
Hometown - San Jose, California 4(1)-5-0 Talamantez dabbled with boxing for a few years on the West Coast with limited results. A string 5 losses (4 by KO) put an end to his experiment.

ROSALIO MURO (photo in other thread)
Birth place - Mexico 3(2)-6-0 Muro won three quick bouts in 1975 then dropped the remainder of his fights. KO losses to Salvador Sanchez and Jose Torres finished his career. His fourth fight was a TKO loss to the great Alexis Arguello at the Cow Palace. He fought quite a few quality opponents for such a short career.
