1. Do you use the aging function or are do all your fighters fight at 'prime' with your own aging system?

2. I've seen you mention that you like matching your universe to fighters who currently have fights or recently fought. Outside of that, how do you determine who fights in your universe, or how do you choose your 'roster'?

3. How you build or pad your beginner's records? Do you just choose lower rated guys in the database or do you use the RFG?

Final question, sir, which isn't related to your universe. I've seen you posts thanking IceTea for his DB updates, however, there are some updates that you mention that I do not see on the online DB (change list), nor do they update into my universe. For example, a 175 pound Canelo and 130 pound Santa Cruz. Am I missing something?

Thank you for your time, my friend.
Hey dragon 29, I appreciate the kind words!

1. No I don't, I like the fact in this sim world we can have the best versions of boxers fight each other from different eras. Not a case where a young boxer gets to fight a once great fighter past his prime which often happens in real life.

2. If I think a fighter has reached his ratings peak, then I'm not afraid to match him because I figure he's not going to be better than this, he might as well see what he can do in title fights. Also in other cases I just pick matchups I think will be close or interesting.

3. Yes I just use lowly rated fighters to pad boxers I want to build up.

Yes for both Leo & Canelo, it was Ice Tea where I saw his rankings.

If you have any more questions, just let me know - thanks!

WBO LHW title

Joe Smith was finally able to make the 1st defense of his title so he came to London to face Lyndon Arthur.

Despite getting dropped in the 3rd by a quick uppercut & a count of 3, Joe pretty much dominated the fight & had the ref step in @ 2:28 of the 7th to move to 5-1 (4 KO's).

Joe was up on PL 222 (34%) to 81 (14%) & the cards: 57-56 & 58-55 twice. Arthur had a cut lip & his right eye was swollen Red.

dragon29 - Arthur just getting stopped in real by Anthony Yarde was the reason Arthur got the title shot - also him being a 4 & Smith a 6 I figured it could be a good fight and a legit 1st title defense for Joe.

His boxing debut!

UFC star Kamaru Usman finally had his 1st fight in boxing & he's off to an impressive start!

Usman's power was on full display as he dropped the game Mike Belcher 5 times with body shots, crosses & hooks before finally ending matters with a R cross in the 7th @ 2:57.

Cards all Usman: 60-51 & 59-51 twice.

PL 193 (23%) to 42 (12%).

One Time Returns

Looking as sharp as ever, Keith Thurman took the NABF JMW title with an impressive 7th TKO (2:58) of big puncher Hugo Centeno Jr.

It was only Keith's 2nd fight back since 2019 and his shocking 2nd round KO loss to Tewa Kiram when Thurman was making his 1st title defense of his WBO WW crown.

Keith is now 5-0 (all KO's) @ 154 & Centeno drops to 4-2 (4 KO's). Hugo coming off a long layoff since losing a 15MD to then WBO JMW champ -
K-9 Bundrage.

In a fight Keith appeared to be in total control, he was up on PL 274 (33%) to 123 (47%) & on the cards: 59-55 & 59-56. For some reason Julie Lederman only had Thurman up 58-57.

WBC Interim SMW title

Current WBC & IBF champ Caleb Plant didn't feel Daniel Jacobs was worthy of a title shot so the WBC decided to pit Jacobs against old vet Martin Murray for the interim belt.

In a fight Danny seemed to control, Martin picked up the pace in the 9th & dominated the round when Jacobs appeared to tire. In the 10th, both fighters went for broke looking for the KO.

Big mistake for Danny as Martin dropped him with a hook for a 5 count & then finished him off with an uppercut - the bell did not save Danny as he was counted out after the final bell for the round.

Murray is now 6-1 (5 KO's) @ 168 - his lone loss to Andre Dirrell getting stopped in the 13th due to the 3 KD rule in his bid for the IBO belt.

Murray was up 86-85 on 1 card but trailed 84 to 87 on the other 2.

Martin was up on PL 204 to 168 & the Brit landed 49% of his punches landing almost at will against the American who only landed 15% of his punches.

Danny drops to 2-1 with 2 KO's @ 168.

2 Brit contenders

John Ryder won the British SMW title with a rib shot KO of Toks Owoh @ 1:02 of the 11th.

John was in control on the cards: 97-94 & 98-93 twice.

Meanwhile in Germany, Chris Eubank returned after a long layoff with a 1st round destruction of Viktor Dick.

An uppercut sent the German to the canvas for an 8 count & the ref stepped in @ 2:23 of the round.

Eubank is now 17-1 (8 KO's) @ 160.

WBO WW title

Making his 1st defense of the title he took from Danny Garcia last May by UD, Kell Brook was finally able to lure long time rival Amir Khan into the ring.

Early on, things looked for for Kell & in the 5th, a quick hook dropped Khan for a count of 3. As the rounds wore on, Amir's speed seemed to take over with Brook tiring. Khan sent Kell to the deck with a quick combo & count of 3 in the 12th & then again in the 14th a right cross sent down Kell again - this time for a 6 count.

The fight went to the judges: 142-140 & 145-137 twice as Amir Khan returns after a long layoff to claim another title.

Khan dominated PL: 408 (42%) to 267 (17%) & Amir is now 9-1 (8 KO's) @ WW & Kell's now 26-1 (14 KO's) @ 147.

Kell's right eye sustained orange level damage & Amir's right was yellow.

Brook is still IBF JMW champ & said afterward he'd give Khan a shot at that belt if he's man enough to meet him @ 154! Kell said he doubts he can make 147 any more.

Vacant IBO JMW title

Jaime Munguia finally got the title shot he's deserved for some time against the old warhorse & former WBO champ: K-9 Bundrage.

K-9 lost his belt to the tricky lefty boxer Patrick Teixeria who really did a number on Bundrage before the fight was stopped in the 10th when the ref put an end to the 1 sided beating.

In today's fight Jaime put K-9 down in the 3rd for a count of 3 from a quick combo. In the 4th, K-9 raced across the ring & dropped Munguia for a 7 count after a huge right cross! Jaime was in real trouble & not all there for a few rounds until he gradually appeared to take control as the fight wore on.

In the 14th a right cross sent K-9 to the deck once again for a 5 count & then Jaime finished off K-9 with a combo @ 1:34 of the round.

Jaime certainly earned this win as his size, youth & power were too much for K-9 to overcome.

Jaime is now 11-0 with 10 KO's & was ahead on all 3 cards: 124-122, 123-122 & 125-122. Jaime also ahead in PL: 319 (32%) to 279 (39%).

K-9 falls to 23-4 with 20 KO's.

Note: Keith Thurman was 1st offered the shot @ Jaime but declined when he said: "Who is Jaime Munguia? I never heard of him."

He went out on his shield

In the Battle for Puerto Rico - Jose Pedraza made the 1st defense of his WBC JLW title a memorable one!

But Alberto Machado just proved to be too powerful as he dropped Jose in the 1st & almost ended the fight right there! Another combo dropped Jose again a few rounds later but in the 9th both men decided to go for broke.

A bad choice for Jose as an uppercut ended matters @ 1:44 of the round.

Alberto was up on all 3 cards: 77-73 & PL too: 236 (40%) to 186 (30%).

WBC JWW title

Jose Ramirez dropped former IBO champ Jamontay Clark twice en route to a 15 SD win: 141-142, 145-138 & 142-141.

Jose was way up on PL: 353 (28%) to 239 (16%).

It was Jose's 2nd straight SD win as he took the WBC belt from Julius Indongo last year.

Boxing's newest superstar is born!

Saying he didn't need any tune up fights, Michael Conlan received a title shot in his very 1st pro fight against the fearsome Emmanuel Navarette making the 2nd defense of his IBF JFW belt.

The champ came in at 4-0, all KO's but a combo from Conlan dropped & knocked him out only 36 seconds into the 1st round!

Jeremiah Nakathila came to Italy to make his 1st title defense against the crafty lefty Floriano Pagliara.

The Italian earned another title shot by upsetting prospect Chris Colbert last July by UD. Floriano's 1st title attempt ended by DQ in the 14th due to head butting champ Nicholas Walters.

Jeremiah won the title last June by 15UD over Takashi Uchiyama & dropped the Japanese champ 5 times en route to an easy decision.

In today's fight, it was back & forth until the 8th when the champ dropped FP with a hook for 5, then a combo for 3 & another hook for a 9 count. Floriano wanted to continue but the ref said no more & stopped it at 2:30.

Scorecards read: 67-67, 68-66 Floriano & 68-67 Jeremiah.

Hot prospect Conor Benn agreed to come down to Argentina to face newly crowned WBC champ - Fabian Maidana making his 1st defense.

The 2 fighters decided to slug it out right from the beginning going punch for punch. In the 3rd a hard Benn left hook dropped the champ for an 8 count.
Then in the 10th, Benn dropped Fabian with an upper for another count of 8. Fabian's right eye was severely swollen (Red) from all the sledgehammer like left hooks Benn slammed into Maidana's face all night & the ref had seen enough stopping the fight @ 2:50 of the round.

Benn was up 88-83 on all 3 cards & 276 (26%) to 154 (34%) in PL.

Making his 2nd title defense, Errol Spence was matched with the puncher in Josesito Lopez (11-2 all KO's).

JS's only 2 losses were in title fights losing a 15UD to Adrien Broner & to Bud Crawford by 15th round TKO due to eye swelling so he hoped the 3rd time would be the charm.

For some reason Errol came into the fight with a slight paunch but in the 2nd dropped Lopez with a left cross for a 6 count. Errol appeared to be in control for most of the rounds until the 11th when a hard uppercut dropped Lopez again for a 7 count. Another upper & a count of 8. Then another cross for a 3 count & yet Richard Steele let the fight continue but this time a hook ended the fight at 2:08 of the round.

Spence was up 97-92 on all 3 cards & moves to 16-1-1 with 13 KO's.

Young phenom Shakur Stevenson won his 2nd belt @ a new weight class as he cruised by Jo Jo Diaz via a UD on all 3 cards: 145-139.

The 1st 2-3 rounds had Diaz in control until the younger Shakur found his rhythm & outboxed & outslicked Jo Jo en route to the decision.

PL also favored Shakur 330 (33%) to 262 (23%) - there were no KDs, just basically a boxing clinic.

Newly crowned champ Amir Khan looked spectacular making his 1st title defense against Custio Clayton tonight in Toronto.

His speed & power were just too much as Amir dominated until ending matters at 1:29 of the 11th with a barrage of punches.

Khan landed 339 punches to 74 for Clayton & was much more accurate as well - 42% to a measly 10% for the so called challenger.

The cards read 100-89 & 99-90 twice for Amir who's now 10-1 with 9 KO's @ 147.

It's uncertain what sort of statement Khan sent to fellow welters with this impressive win but it served notice to all Canadians that they better not mess with Amir Khan!

Donnybrook in Vegas!

Making his 7th title defense of his WBC belt, Antonio Margarito came into the fight fat, apparently underestimating Chris Pearson - big mistake!

In the 5th, Tony sent Chris to the canvas twice so it appeared his power would once again save the day for the rugged Mexican warrior. Chris had a different plan though as he dropped Tony in both the 6th & 7th rounds & proceeded to outbox the champ en route to a 15 UD: 142-138 & 141-139 twice.

Chris won the PL battle: 375 (38%) to 288 (21%) and moves to 9-1. His lone loss years ago to Carlos Molina via 15 SD for the interim WBO title where he outpunched Molina 278 to 275.

Margarito is now 22-4 with 20 KO's.

On the same card, Jermell Charlo made the 6th defense of his title via a much closer than expected 15 UD over rough & tough Billy Collins, Jr. - all 3 cards reading 143-141 for Jermell.

Collins sent Charlo to the canvas in the 3rd via a hook for an 8 count. Jermell was able to stay away & out box Billy for the rest of the fight: 382 (33%) to 220 (17%).

Charlo hoped to look more impressive in his title defense than Jeison Rosario's WBA defense over Collins earlier this year: 145-139 & 144-141 twice. Charlo failed in that regard & is now 17-1 with 4 KO's.
