1918 Season
The new season is upon us. Will the Washington Senators make it three World Series wins in a row? Or will the Cubs will get
another chance after their 1907 win over Cleveland. Is the next best thing a Babe Ruth? Or will there be more hits, outs, and
injuries that a team can shake a stick at. Stay tuned to find out.

September 17th 1918 Update
Boston has all but wrapped the American League up. It is still up in the air over in the National League. Senators have lost 10 one run games since the beginning of August, and are
21-30 for the year. Not much of a chance for Washington. Babe Ruth (Boston Braves) has not hit a home run so far in September.

1918 Final Standings
The Boston Red Sox will take on the New York Giants in the World Series. The only time the Red Sox even appeared in post season was in 1890 when they won the Series against
the Giants. At that time the Red Sox were being called the Louisville Colonels. New York will be making their 9th appearance. New York's last appearance was in 1903 when they lost
to the Cleveland Naps.

July 1st 1919 Update
The Red Sox struggled a little but in June, 13-12, but still leads the AL by 3 games over St Louis. In the NL, the Robins and Braves are still going after each other. Babe Ruth has
hit 16 home runs so far this season and he is on pace to hit 36. If Babe does that he will blow Roger Connor's single season record away. Connor hit 31 home runs during the 1889
season.

Standings

Batting Stats

Pitching Stats

Washington Senators Report
Record 36-29: 3rd Place 4.5 GB Boston
A rough month for the Senators. Numerous injuries and untimely hitting against the bottom two team, Philadelphia and Detroit. A sweep by the Tigers and losing 3 out 4 to the White
Sox and Red Sox. Walter Johnson goes 1-5, 3.81 for the month.

Around The Diamonds
Pete Carroll (Houston Buffaloes, Texas League)is the first player since Pat Folbre (Elmira Colonels, New York State League) in 1914 to hit three home runs in a single game. He will
be the fourth person to do so in the Minors. The feat has not been done in the Majors yet.

August 1st 1919 Update
Senators come flying in from third place to take the top spot in the American League. Meanwhile in the National League, the Boston Braves are trying to hold on to a small lead
over Philadelphia and a waning Brooklyn team. Babe Ruth has hit his 20th home run of the season and needs just three more to equal his total from 1917, and 11 short of Roger
Connor's league leading total.

Standings

Batting Stats

Pitching Stats

We bounce back from a so so month of July with a 21-7 July. Pete Alexander is named Pitcher of the Month for his 7-1, 2.41 effort. And Oscar Charleston is named Batter of the Month,
batting .405 with 2 HR and 25 RBIs, including his second Grand Slam of the year.

ATD (Around the Diamonds)

League) raised the raise to 19 wins. Not to be left out but Clarence Grina (San Fransisco Seals, Pacific Coast League) called with his 19 wins.

Two nice races are heating up in more way than one. First off is the race for the American and National League Pennants. Boston has come storming back thanks to a 9-1 run.
Over in the NL, the Phillies faded with a 6 game skid. There are other races, like the race to see which player will or will not bat over .400 by the end of the season.

The Boston Braves clinched the National League. In the American League it will come down to a crucial series between the Red
Sox and the Senators. The season sees the Red Sox leading 9-8 in head to head matchups. Maybe St Louis could slip in and
take the title.
