Game crashes/freezes during load - Page 3

If you only updated the patch with the .exe file it could be the culprit. If you tried the setup file to patch it, I believe it was suposta overwrite things, but a reinstall is in order either way.

I'm in the process of reinstalling the patch after uninstalling everything and will start a new season. I will post if it fixes the problem. I probably won't know for sure until after testing it for a few days.

Database corruption error again after 2 days of playing. This game is unplayable. First error I get this time is data base error can't load weather file then once click okay it says database corrupted error again and I'm frozen out.

This game has way to many problems and I do not want to invest more time. This is why I prefer console games versus PC sims. Too many issues.....

I've played OOTP for years and never had these problems before, so now I'm starting to get seriously frustrated. I was just playing without issue, and tried to save my league when the game crashed for no apparent reason on the "Saving Messages" phase. Now, when I try to load game or continue game, it tells me that the messages cannot be loaded and my league file is corrupt. Why should I continue playing this game if each league I start is going to be lost? Is there anything I can do here?

I don't want to do anything fancy, just play the game without it constantly destroying my leagues.

OK, delete the messages.dat file, and then load the league... that should fix the problem! I'll change it in the patch so that loading an empty file will not cause a problem anymore.

Is your HD full maybe?

Well, okay.

Good news: I can load the game now.

Bad news: all my players' names and ratings have changed. For instance, James Loney is now Prince Fielder, and I have none of the players I should. And when I try to go to another team screen (specifically, I've tried the Milwaukee Brewers twice), it crashes. My coaches are all the same, my financials are the same, and on my team home page it gives the correct names of my players on the team leaderboards - just my players are gone. When I click on the link for my correct players on the leaderboard, it takes me to the "new" incorrect player's page.

I'm having the exact same issue - rosters are all wrong, player links going to the wrong page, game crashes after a few clicks. la2335, you mention you resolved it, but how?

Basically how I "fixed" this before was by backing up my league instead of saving it. But that's not really fixing anything.

Still waiting on word in the new thread.

Same problem here. I'm on a mac (10.4) same database problem. Although based on the league I attempt to load I get different errors. One league has a corrupt faces.dat another can't load world.dat another has problems with the messages etc...

Okay, this thread has gotten fairly large and branched. Some of the issues posted here were fixed or will be fixed in the upcoming patch. Let's move any further discussion to la2355's thread linked above.
