1928-29 Season
The Ottawa Senators miss the postseason for the second time in a row, other then position changes in the standings the same teams will make the playoffs as last year.

Lefebvre leads the league in points once again, the young superstar still has a lot of time let though his career has been plagued by injuries, even missing nearly a whole season a few years prior.

All scoring leaders have previously been on the board except for Michael Kuhn, a young upcoming star for the Toronto Marlboros, a player you should keep an eye out in the following years.

39 year old Zack Boutin still playing strong with the Montreal Canadiens, winning the cup the previous year. He has barely shown any signs of slowing down!

Longtime Forward Nate Beirnes retires at age 40. Beirnes retired as the 2nd all time leading point scorer, he won 3 Stanley Cups in his career with the Montreal Canadiens but he's most known for being the Ottawa Senators' top forward at the start of the NHL.

1929-30 NHL season
This season is the first time the Quebec Voyageurs have not made the playoffs in franchise history. The Rangers make the playoffs for the first time as well.

A new league scoring leader with Dan Siwak of the Toronto Marlboros takes the league lead, he was traded from Ottawa mid season allowing him to play 47 games instead of the regular 44.

Boutin still leads the league at age 40, shows no signs of slowing down.

Are running any of the teams or just staying unemployed? The speed at which you're doing this is awesome!

I'm remaining unemployed, letting the sim do it's thing. Some of it was surprising like the six straight Stanley Cups for the Voyageurs, it's been a lot of fun! And thank you! I've been slowing down the past few days but I'll make sure to keep it up in the future.

1930 Offseason

As the Great Depression wears on, the Quebec Voyageurs fall into financial trouble. Even though the team has been a success in the past, in recent years they have fallen on hard times as team owner Yves Parenteau (1868-1947) has announced he has put the team for sale. The NHL has announced they would not allow a transaction before the 1931-32 season.

After two Stanley Cup winning seasons, the Boston Bulldogs rebrand as the Boston Bruins.

In other news, superstar Canadiens goalie Zack Boutin retires at the age of 40! He had a legendary career leading the Habs to 4 Stanley Cups.

1930-31 NHL Season

The Toronto Marlboros had an incredible season with 3 of their players making the top 5 in points! Both New York teams struggled once more with the New York Huskies playing in the more competitive division. Can New York handle two teams?

Lefebvre leads the league in points once more with a solid performance. A big surprise was Jean Lecompte, a Marlboros defenceman who's first year in the league ends up 4th in points!

1931 Offseason

In honour of retired Canadiens goalie Zack Boutin's retirement, the league has announced the creation of the Zack Boutin Trophy (shortened to the Boutin Trophy) awarded each year to the best Goaltender in the league. Boutin spent all his career with the Montreal Canadiens and played in various other professional leagues before playing in the National Hockey League.

In other news the Quebec Voyageurs have been sold to a group of American investors based in Baltimore. The team had been struggling financially for multiple seasons and with the great depression kicking in they had no choice but to sell or fold. The team has been named the Baltimore Orioles and they will be playing in the newly built 8,000 seated Baltimore Arena.

The Toronto Marlboros have moved into the newly built Maple Leaf Gardens! With a 12,000 seat capacity it is one of the largest new arenas in the league.

The New York Huskies have struggled in the standings and have been a financial burden compared to the New York Rangers, due to this the team may have to sell or fold. The Huskies have had the brunt of the Great Depression alongside the Quebec Voyageurs (now Baltimore Orioles and the Ottawa Senators.

And finally, Marlboros forward Josh Schwartz has retired after winning his only Stanley Cup with the team. He retires as the all-time NHL goal leader.

1931-32 Season

In a surprise twist, the Orioles somehow manage to finish first in the league. After being moved to the American division, arguably the weaker of the two they have found newly gained success with a mediocre team with no player in the top 10 of points and no superstar goalie.

The Black Hawks continue to struggle as they got moved to the Canadian division, heavily outmatched by the powerhouse teams such as Toronto and Montreal.

1932 Offseason

After several seasons of poor play, little attendance, and no new home arena the Pittsburgh Hornets have announced their plan to suspend operations indefinitely.

Alongside this the Ottawa Senators have announced their plan to relocate to St. Louis to become the St. Louis Flyers prior to the 1932-33 season. This comes as a shock to some but the team had been doing poor financially for the past couple of years. Others raise the concern of travel costs all the way to St. Louis but the league has assured team ownership that it will work.

In response to these changes the divisions have been realligned to the Northern Division with 5 teams and the Southern Division with 4.

1933-34 NHL Season

Scoring has slowed down remarkably this season with Canadiens forward Lefebvre scoring a point a game pace unlike last season where he had a whopping 78 points.

The Canadiens finish atop the league once more with a young star netminder Matt St-Jacques. The Orioles finish 2nd with an upcoming superstar who's coming off a career year with Josh Atkinson.
