It's probably the opposite though and it keeps the ball hidden for another .01s or something, and that's what makes him effective.

But, man, that's *red*. (tries to adjust color settings on his laptop)

First blood, and yes, courtesy of a Dodger home run. By guess who? The guy who, instead of forearm bashing, did celebratory toe taps with his teammates. I guess Bellinger's shoulder feels alright.

Will there be a run scored without the benefit of a homer in the series?

A) Yes
B) No
C) Raccoons?

Not fair with C. I always vote Raccoons. I would vote for a raccoon for president!

I don't say that often in the playoffs, but Glasnow was in there way too long.

Now is the time to jump on the bandwagon.

And if I was a pro athlete you could not do much worse than Tampa Bay-St. Petersburg-Clearwater

Gorgeous area and no state income tax!

At the crucial moment, when the Rays were willing to pay $40 million to break the Tropicana lease, St Pete had a mayor with a sooper sekrit plan to keep the Rays and a City Council where the majority were afraid of having their legacy being associated with getting $40 million for the city for letting the inevitable happen early.

Government still doesn't quite get it. It should tell the Rays they cannot stay past the expiration of the lease. The rejuvenated areas of St Pete have reached the Tropicana site which is now in the way of additional expansion and thus quite valuable. But there's no mention of the city helping the Rays pack.

Well - (dramatically and noisily closes big green income tax code tome lying around for no good reason at all) - That one's in the books!

I guess Kevin Cash started Yandy Diaz at 1B due to the lefty-lefty matchup of Choi and Kershaw who, by the way, took a step toward dispelling that "Clayton Kershaw choke in the playoffs" meme tonight. We were premature with our "imploding" prediction although that home run he gave up was exquisitely timed with your "Aaaaany moment" comment.

Was thinking the same thing. And then a couple innings later was thinking that Kershaw was good for one more inning in order to better save pitchers bullpen for tomorrow's bullpen game.

The Dodgers have 15 pitchers on their roster (Rays: 14). If they can't pick nine innings between 15 pitchers, two days removed from an off day, they're doing it wrong.

No question. But if Kershaw - who was pitching quite well and hadn't hit 80 pitches yet - goes another inning, perhaps the Dodgers end up using three pitchers instead of five. And if that translates to maybe 12 pitchers being available for game two instead of 10 or 11, well that's just a bit more options for a bullpen game... Not a huge issue, I'll concede.

Pretty sure some of the pitchers who pitched in yesterday's game are still options for today's game.

Kershaw had back problems in the NLCS so taking him out was fine.

Oh dear, Game 2 is about to start, and I am still entangled in a Raccoons week.

(flicks on second computer)

Ah, I have it made.

Ah, I have it made.
I have the luxury of being able to watch the game on a big screen while sitting in a chair facing it in such a manner as to be able to quickly look up from my much more important OOTPB game on my laptop whenever I hear crowd noise or hysterical announcers.

How's that for a run-on sentence?

Thing is, Joe Buck doesn't know when hysteria is appropriate.

Also, I'll match your sizable screen and comfy(-enough ) setup and raise you - *clonk* - a bag of Maltesers.

Do Americans even have Maltesers? Do you get nice things?
