Also to save your game you need to save here. Also when you click the X or click Exit OOTP it should also save your game.
Next off. In Game, Click on Game, then Game Settings, and then click on Database and screenshot that page. What ever issues you are having it really should not be this hard. I have my game setup to save once a week on its own but usually if I win a game, I click on file and save it myself. |

twins_34 I'm saving the same way you are. When I click on my Devils Ray.lg folder it is empty and I guessing yours is to. When you click on your Twins 1980+.lg folder what does it show? How do you get to name your folders? I'm not getting that choice.

ohiodevil I do click on them and open them. But if you look at the file size there is nothing there so no surprise when I open them and nothing is there.

What happens when you try to load a saved game in OOTP? Does it load? Does the game not show up in the Load screen? Does it throw an error?

Make a brand new game if you have to, In Game, Click on Game, then Game Settings, and then click on Database and screenshot that page. This is what is in all of my folders. |

twins_34 that is a screen shot of the current game I'm in. And again I ask when you click on your Twins 1980+.lg folder what does it show? How do you get to name your folders? I'm not getting that choice.

Someone asked what happens when I load/continue a saved game. It loads fine until the day it crashes and then when I try to restore from the back-up I can't because it appears there is nothing in the saved or back-up folders to restore from.

You click on file and click on backups and then click on backup current game. So its impossible for you to restore from backup when you have never created a backup of your game. A saved game is not the same as a backup. When you close OOTP you are SAVING the game not backing up the game. In the screenshot is the only way you can make a backup of your current game. That file, when created, goes into your backup folder. Here is my backup folder because I do keep backups. If your game crashes, then reload it by clicking on LOAD GAME on the OOTP Home Screen which is in the 3rd picture. Please click on LOAD GAME on the home screen because I want to see what is in you load game folder. Show that, its my 4th picture. I am thinking I am coming to the conclusion you are confusing a SAVED GAME with a BACKUP COPY of your game. Please load OOTP 21 and click on LOAD GAME and show us that picture when it comes up. Because if your saved game folder has no info it would be impossible for you to load into your game and if you are not doing actual backups, then yes, your backup folder will be empty. |

You name your games when you create your games. That is what becomes your saved game names in your saved game folder and it is also what is used to name your backup name as well. If you choose to change the name of your folder then you rename it under file explorer. But, even though I have already posted this, I will do it again. but to see my original post of this same folder, look here https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...2&postcount=48 Even The Game posted what was in his folder here. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&postcount=51 This is what is under my Twins 1980+ folder when I click on it. |

When I save a game I also back it up at the same time. I guess I will just wait until the next time it crashes and then see what happens. All other games I have when you click on the saved or back-up folders there is a lot of data there and even before you open the file next to it where it shows the file size there is a number (usually a large #) not a blank like in this game and that is what is confusing me.
