Yes, there is progress
The no-detail bug on Mac was fixed and the fix will go into the next build (65 or 66).

But we are still working on to get the face colors for Mac and Win pictures as close as possible.

percolaten's missing cap fellow would be a "no detail" example. Even without the name showing and me posting the detailed PC equivalent, I'm looking at it and, trust me, that is a no-detail version of whomever it is meant to be.

It just looks like a similar issue to the folks that had the cap and body missing.

Been having a problem where the game during an auto sim "can't access a certain folder" or such, and then all facegens are deleted, (the players I have accessed do still exist) then my save gets corrupted, and deleted, along with backups and auto saves. I've lost two save games to this in the past 2 weeks. One was only 1 season long.

When I try to recover the save, it says its from an earlier form of OOTP and fails.

This makes the game nearly unplayable.

I've tried a fresh reinstall but this has now happened in two separate saves.

Can you activate the debug output and send us a tracefile in case this happens again?

What are your specs? Which plattform, which OOTP version (Steam, Epic, standalone)?

Are you the only user of the computer the game is installed? Maybe it's a permission issue.
Have you changed the standard setting where the game is installed?

So what this actually sounds is like you have something on your system that's deleting or corrupting parts of the OOTP install.

There are a few things that can cause corruption. This potentially includes unexpected system shutdowns or crashes especially while a league is saving, bad sectors on the hard drive the game is saved to, memory glitches on your computer (especially possible if the league is left open for very long periods of time without the game being shut down or restarted) or interference from other programs, especially disk cleaners or anti-virus programs.

Some of what you might do to prevent that from coming up again would be to regularly defrag your hard drive as well as check it for errors, don't leave OOTP open and running with a league loaded overnight or for long periods when you are not actually using the game, make sure to shut your computer off or at least restart it occasionally and also run as few other programs in the background at the same time as OOTP as possible.

For programs that need to be running at the same time, like an anti-virus or firewall, it's a good idea to add OOTP to their whitelist and to create an exception for OOTP's directories if you use some sort of automated disk cleaner.

I think in your case the latter tips are likely to be more helpful, as this really sounds like an anti-virus program that's deleting parts of OOTP's install.

So the first step is to definitely make sure that the OOTP program itself, but also the data directory and the saved games directory are all whitelisted in any anti-virus or anti-malware programs on your system.

I enabled the debug and will hazard another sim in 23 I guess. I backed up the league 3 times too, all gone. I didn't take screenshots because I was kinda just, mad, I had lost around 3 weeks of work on a league that took me around 4 hours to set up all said and done. Not looking for recompense obviously, it just sucks. I'm on the steam version, only user of my own personal laptop and I've touched nothing during installation, I just let steam do it's thing.

Best I can do is just run another 23 sim, and hope for it to show up again, and then quickly save the log file before it gets deleted I guess.

Seconding to your comment below this one, OOTP is whitelisted by my anti-viruses, I actually really don't have any invasive anti-viruses at all like McAfee or Norton that can do that which would delete something really. I did have a problem with 22 soft locking my laptop due to a corrupted file being endlessly being decrypted by bitlocker for the span of 4 days. It pretty much just bricked the computer until I was able to remove that. But that's gone now, so I don't think an encryption is the problem anymore either.

It could be a data corruption issue, all said and done. I play OOTP constantly on team flights/travel but I usually don't have it open overnight, but there are days, where I play for quite a few hours on hand, since 16 I have nearly 12k hours played between the games. Maybe I just need to cool it with 23? I haven't had this problem with the other games, and I'm currently just running with 22 and it's working fine.

I'm not the best with computers, I play baseball, but I have a Dell G3 Laptop, CPU is a Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-9300H CPU @ 2.40GHz 2.40 GHz and graphics card is a NIVIDIA Gforce GTX 1660 with max-q graphics, 8gb ram, ssd harddrive, and uh, 64 bit processor.

I just hope this doesn't happen to others, I'm trying to remember what it said exactly, but it was a pop up that couldn't access one of the facegen files and pretty much everyone who was supposed to have facegens (this was in a cubs live start game) had theres removed, but the people who I had already opened up their player page did. So like Patrick Wisdom I could see, but a guy who I haven't looked at like Matt Gage had no picture at all. A forced facegen reset did nothing, going into the editor did nothing too. After I closed OOTP after this error, everything was deleted, save game, backups, and tracefiles, and trying to restore or access it completely bricks the game.

First, I would recommend you to take backups of your save game by yourself every couple of days. Just to make sure to not loose several weeks of work due to a bug.
Just copy (not move) the league folder ...\Ootp23\data\saved_games\<NAMEOFLEAGUE> to somewhere else, where is enough disk space.
You can delete older copy after creating a new one, no need to keep them all.

You've mentioned encryption. Is your laptop disk or parts of it encrypted?
This could cause the issue. When not everything is decrypted when starting Ootp the game will not find the saved files and probably start to create new one on the encrypted part of the disk, overwritting whatever was encrypted, thus corrupt them.

If this is the case, just make sure to decrypt every disk part that Ootp uses before starting the game. Also close the game before go to hilbernate mode. If encryption/description after hilbernating is slower than the game tries to search/write files then it can also corrupt encrypted disk parts.

It might be some other issue, thus, a trace file would be helpful when you experience such behavior again (hopefilly it will never be the case).

A picture of that file and of that texture in the team color dialog would be helpfull.

I have tried deleting the jersey file and recreating it. I have also tried different types of jerseys.

It does not happen for all teams, so I suspect an issue with the logo file maybe? The strange thing is that I can fix it in game my simply setting it back up and it will remain correct until the next time I close and reopen the program.

The logo only appears on the backs in the 3d field. Facegens, the logo is correct.

The player picture is not updating after a team change, so he's on Team A for example and his facegen shows him in a Team B uniform.

Thanks for the info. The logo file should be ok, it should be an issue with the position calculation. I'll take a look.
