It means the game will load info on what teams a player played for in situations where it doesn't need that information.

I think it'll be of great benefit, actually. There will be bugs at first, but thanks to Perfect Team, the historical side of things will finally be getting the attention it desperately needs. I mean Perfect Team is basically a Historical Random Debut Online League, so whatever they fix there, they will fix for historical, too. At first I rolled my eyes at Perfect Team, but now I realize that it will help us out in the long term.

I mean, imagine if we get this level of detail on the Historical side of things...I can't post the file because it's too large for the size limit on this forum, but it's a spectacular level of detail, which will give guys a better starting point. From there, a player's destination will be up to the player's real life numbers, and/or the game's development engine, but he'll have a much more detailed starting point.

Documents\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 23\database\players.csv

That file is the file from which the Standard Game starting point for players is determined. Merging the two of them will be a ton of work, but it'll be better in the long run for us.

Well this was kind of sad. Trout broke his hamate bone on 05/26/1990 and missed 3 months. He became a free agent following the 90 season, but never signed and retired in October of 91. Name: mental_conditions_1992-10-06_12-42-30.jpg

Well it almost happened. The New York Fighting Lions just jumped out to a 3 games to 0 lead in the 1992 NLCS, only to see the Cincinnati Zips storm back to win the series 4-3. The Zips comeback put and end to what would have been a Biggio World Series. Caven(31) plays for the Boston Vipers in the AL, while Craig(36) plays for New York.

Love it when this happens in my games. I had Griffeys Jr, and Sr in my OOTP16 save Inaugural Draft. Jr went 3rd overall, while Sr went 16th. They both started out at age 23, which is hilarious, if you think about the "reality" of it. Despite me playing with Recalc on, Sr had the better career, and thus, the last laugh around the Thanksgiving Dinner table for the rest of their lives. Twin sibling rivalry, I guess. I was using Neutered Stats, which I no longer do, though.

Wow the AL East comes down to a one game playoff between 2 teams tied with 76-86 records. Almost feel like cancelling the ALCS and just putting Seattle in the World Series. That being said, how much do you want to bet the AL East team takes the ALCS in 4 games? Name: mental_conditions_1993-10-04_18-38-41.jpg

I like the stats output you're getting there. Not too insane on offense, but not too dull, either. Nice, and balanced looking.

I'm liking 86 so far. Now if I can just make myself avoid expansion for as long as possible, I think it will be very interesting to see where this goes. Expansion is a lot of fun, but it can also really skew the numbers. I think I mentioned to year earlier that I'm using AAA and AA level minors in this random league. It's been fun seeing which players stick around for lengthy minor league careers. For several years running, the AAA home run king was Matt LaPorta, but he has since handed that crown over to Jeff Hamilton. I remember LaPorta being a guy the Indians had high hopes for, but he never really found his groove.

I've been simming to the last day of each regular season and then I watch each and every game of the post season. This is allowing me to get through seasons and build history.

Did you notice the season Gibby wrapped up in the AL? Only his second season in the league. Kind of reminds me of real life Al Kaline. Now can he live up to those numbers over the rest of his career.

The 1992 draft featured Barry Bonds and Cy Young.

I only gave it a quick glance over. WHOA! That's a phenomenal season. I remember him being extremely highly thought of, even before he came up. I think football injuries at Michigan State may have curtailed what could've been a legendary career.

These days, when anybody says Gibby, I automatically think of John Gibbons, who's an absolute cult hero up here. #GibbyDaBest is basically his tagline, and he is beloved across this country. It was definitely not always this way, but now, he could run for PM, and win.

Both in a five round draft (unless you've upped it due to the addition of the minor leagues) would qualify it to be one of the best drafts ever. The 1986 RL draft was pretty bonkers too, as I recall.

I was doing 6 round draft, but the last 2 years I went to 7, trying to avoid the issue I ran into with St Louis only having 2 catchers in their entire organization.

Try setting Trading Frequency to "Bananas". I must admit, I chuckled when I saw "Constantly" for one of the Trading Frequency settings. What does that even mean? Like, every day? Jerry DiPoto, on greenies? I do have mine set to "Very High", and I find the teams get around to solving blocked players, or positions that desperately need warm bodies, at a quicker rate, than they normally might. Free agency's good for that, too. You may not like either of those, though. I just can't stand the thought of cramming my league with 120 players per team. Mine usually runs at around 55-65 players per team, with the five round draft, and that's plenty for me. An AI that is stubborn to wreck its own team, with positions that don't have any players, or ruin a player's career, by stashing him in playing time purgatory, can be really frustrating, so I can see the need to take matters into your own hands.

I think 55-65 is perfect. With 2 levels of minors and a 6 round draft I was seeing a lot of teams carrying around 45-50. I pretty much always use free agency. I set trading to average.

Well as expected, the 77-86 Baltimore Ravens take down the 100-62 Seattle Lobos in 7 to win the ALCS. Ugh!

Glad to report Pittsburgh took care of business in the World Serie, beating the unworthy Baltimore Ravens 4 games to 1.
