Was hoping for a better season on some individual player basis. I’ll take multiple 20 goal scorers though! Need to look at what is going on with Krejci. He keeps trying to play a different role than what his current Scouting report shows.

We knew that there has been some speculation regarding Tarasenko coming over from the KHL, but, we knew that if we can get him over to St. Louis during a training camp, he would love it here and we can show what is here." GM Zack Meyer was quoted saying after the draft. Tarasenko is slated to be a solid player in the NHL player on most teams in our league. He loves scoring goals and looks to make goalies pay if they underestimate him. Injuries might a little worrisome but for the most part, he stays healthy. ![]() "We worked hard on this deal, and knowing that we were able to retain our 1st round pick as well, it was a good deal for both sides. Nikitin was going to have a good chance at making the NHL roster this upcoming season, and we wish him nothing but luck in Tampa Bay." Later in the draft, St. Louis selected, LW, Jaden Schwartz with the 25th overall pick. Schwartz, looks to have the ability to be a good player in this league. He is good on both sides of the puck and loves to make a quick out on a counterattack. ![]() 2010 NHL Entry Draft Review The NHL completed the 2010 Entry Level Draft. Going first overall to the Los Angels Kings was LW Artemi Panarin. The Maple Leafs, choose second, selected RW Mark Stone, and the third overall pick was C Tyler Seguin, who went to the Islanders. The general consensus among media observers was that the Thrashers had the best overall draft, while the Predators came in for some criticism. General Manager Ray Shero has built a squad that will be the team to beat this year, but they can expect challenges from Dale Tallon's Chicago Blackhawks and Montreal featuring goalie Jaroslav Halak. Among the darkhorses, Boston stands out as a possible challenger, with a big season by Patrice Bergeron capable of pushing them into contender status. The scoring race will likely see Pittsburgh's Sidney Crosby challenged by Alex Ovechkin of Washington and Pittsburgh's Evgeni Malkin. The top defenseman in the league is generally considered to be Minnesota Wild blueliner Brent Burns, with Nashville's Shea Weber and Brian Campbell of Buffalo also in the running. Finally, among goaltenders, New York's Henrik Lundqvist stands out as the league's best, while Montreal Canadians netminder Jaroslav Halak and Marc-Andre Fleury of Pittsburgh can also steal games for their teams. |

![]() Blues Season Preview The 2010-11 season is set to begin. When GM Meyer was asked about how they felt about this roster going into the season. "We felt like this team really competed last season. We made very big strides forward and we wanted to reward that as best as we could. We kept the majority of the squad together from last season. A lot of the players were very happy to come back and to keep this team going." "We reached an agreement with the new Offensive Coach, Matt Lance, to come in and really help develop the younger players and try to help push the special teams from last season." When asked if there was any adjustments from the leadership groups last season. Meyer stated "No. We want to keep the leadership group intact. Kopitar did a great job in his first season as Captain of this squad. Brown and Giordano will be the ones retaining the Assistant letters going into the season as well. Just because there is someone that is not wearing the letters on their chest during the game, does not mean that they don't step up in other ways. Guys like Backes, Brewer, and Erik Johnson are all leaders on and off the ice." GM Meyer is entering his 4th season as the GM and HC of this squad. Through that time, he has gone 122-104-20. He enters a new contract season as he was extended on a two year deal this offseason. |
