Since I'm back, I can tell you that I think your IPL was the original kickstarter on all of this (and its in the game).

Update: Updating the file save. The next release for this was supposed to be for the year 1996. I'm going to push this back to 2000 now for a good reason: I would like to apply Qualifiers for the World Cup that tie directly to the competition. Although, I'm going to play around with that first.

Other notes....

As usual, the Continental League has had some relocations, much like the JPBO. Some leagues have had expansion, or just an additional level added to the bottom of the pyramid.

The Czechoslovak Baseball Federation has become the Slovak Baseball Federation. The teams in the Czech Republic from the CBF joined Czech Baseball Extraliga, also known as the CBE.

Another league featured a migration or split, as the fall of the cold war led to Germany exploding, adding a pyramid with not just one level, but three! Yugoslavia sees its teams go to the Balkin Baseball League and the Croatian Baseball League.

Like the SBF, another league also changed its name: the third division of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Eerste Klasse, which means first class, has been a name of a league since baseball began in the Netherlands in 1922. However, the name has been retired. Honkbal has decides to go with calling each league "third" and "fourth" class,
respectively, in Dutch. This means the third division level is now called Honkbal Derde Klasse.

1996 Update: Three more of the five continental congress establishments (Africa, Asia, Americas) have added a Champions League! There's no need for Oceania, as it will be a one-game playoff between the ABL and PML Champions to determine the Oceanic qualifier for the Club World Cup, which is played annually between the Oceanic champion and the four Continental Champions Leagues! A sixth club will be represented by the host country and this will not be an event where two teams from the same parent league will be playing for the term GLOBAL CHAMPION!

Update: We have advanced to 1997! Two new leagues have been added for 1997: The Irish National League (teams from both Ireland and Northern Ireland) and the 3rd Division Austrian Regionalliga.

Random update: Finishing 1997. I did a stats export. I got over one million rows of stats! I can't even output them correctly to excel or sheets without using other bigger tools for data purposes. Trying to setup a stat organization that will allow you to see who is the all-time leaders in all major leagues, as well as national team totals.

Rolling into 1998, I'm adding some additional development leagues: all of the collegiate summer leagues that have started by 1998 (with teams that have or fictional), and two fictional ones. The two fictional development leagues are high school leagues; one for kicks and giggles, the other is a Perfect Game League for the top juniors (next seniors) for the following draft.

As 1998 comes to a close, the first edition of the Club World Cup, known in this Universe as the World Baseball Classic, takes place in Delhi, India. The competition features the 13 Major League level league champions, plus the additional five winners of each continental congress's champions league (League Champions from EVERY first division league for each governing body). This allows for the top 18 teams from around the world to determine who is the best major league/champion of 1998!

The structure: three pools of six, with the top two advancing to the super round. An additional round-robin, wherein the top two teams from the Super Round advance to the Global Classic (World Series), a best-of-three to determine the WBC Champion!
