What is the Resulting R/L% split and can you just edit it below? Does not look like it. Is this the issue? Why is Resulting R/L rate 1.024 and Resulting rating .9972? Just trying to understand the problem.....

the problem is in the 20-80 (every 5) ratings scale youre using no one will have a split for any rating that will be bigger than the next level. And if you look in the raw ratings most of the splits that have any difference at all are just caused because the difference is 0-30 raw rating points for pitchers and like 0-5 for batters (on a 0-550 scale). So the differences you see on the 20-80 scale are only because they just barely passed the next tier's raw rating.
The problem being that in real life there are lots of players who naturally have a heavy split between ability vs L and R. In the game though players were being created to be nearly identical vs each in their raw ratings. Sounds like it is being worked on though! So hopefully more realistic split ratings coming to fictional very soon! |

ok, great answer. So would you (me) go and edit the ratings or just wait?

Hello. I took a while to move to OOTP25 so I've been playing 24 until recently. I decided to start a new fictional league so I simmed 50 years just to develop some history.
After 50 seasons I looked at the career leaders in OPS and noticed that of the top 17 hitters, SIXTEEN are right handed batters and one is a switch hitter. The first lefty hitter is number 18 on the leader board. I ran more tests and keep coming across the same thing, the best hitters are almost always right handed. When I began looking at individual players, I saw that there are hardly any split differences in players and that's how I ended up at this thread. It doesn't appear that this issue was addressed as I've played about 300 test seasons at this point and I keep finding the same thing. I've never seen this issue with previous versions of the game as the splits seemed much more realistic; is anyone else having the same problem? Thanks. |
