That swap is still not official btw.
Meanwhile I have seen quotes of Evil Helmut in my Insta feed (but of course without attribution where they are supposed to come from, because Insta) that Red Bull are currently applying for a Super Licence exemption for Arvid Lindblad, a Red Bull junior with one (1) race of F2 experience, who fulfills all requirements for a licence, except that he'll be 17 for another six months, and you gotta be 18. They now claim that Italian Kimi got the exemption as well (although he ended up not making his debut until after his 18th birthday anyway), so why should Lindblad not get it? Lindblad, btw, was 4th with 4 wins in F3 last year, and won the Formula Regional Oceania with 6 wins over the winter. The level of desperation, however, is baffling.

If I were Yuki, Id think thrice before taking that seat as for me, it is a black hole that eats driver's careers by this time.
Let's be honest, Helmut Marko is playing his favorites again, like he did with Sebastian Vettel back then. That wasn't an issue when the RB was blindingly fast a couple of years ago, dominating F1, but as the other caught up slowly and the RB performance wasn't that great, they made the executive decision to develop the car specifically for Max Verstapppen's unique driving style. Therefore, Max was able to compete with the car, but for Perez, the window in which the car worked for him got smaller and smaller. And you can't blame the guy for not being Max, and for not wanting to drive the car in a way that he is not comfortable in, and when he tried, he crashed, And honestly, yes, Perez was not great the last 2 years, but he is not a turd either. The thing is now, whoever you place in that second RB seat, he has to either drive the car like Max does in a very specific way at a high limit, or he will fail. As long as Helmut and RB do not accept the fact that they are backed into a corner, rolling with the Max Verstappen only car that does not perform anymore, they can swap out #2 drivers as they want, it won't work. |

F1 25 will be revealed today and has a release date of May 27th
Unfortunately, the F1 Manager series by UK-based Fronteir Developments was discontinued last November. I will have to pick up the latest on Steam when it goes on deep sale. I have a feeling when their license expires, they will delist all the games from the series off all platforms. |

Getting that F1 manager as a gift would still be too expensive.

Motorsport Manager is probably better. But that game is 9 years old this November and not perfect by any means. If the latest version of F1 manager falls below 20 Euros, then I will pick it up simply because we may not see a motorsport themed management game for a very long time. |

Ahh, that's disappointing. I had that series on my radar. I figured after a few iterations it might become good.

I will still get it since as I said before, it may be a long while before we get another racing management game. And when the license is gone, it will be delisted from all stores. I will wait until the next sell and grab it. |

I got it in the latest sale, but have not played it yet. The 2022 version was ok-ish but not great and like you, I hoped that like 4-5 versions in, the game would be in a great state... but now that it is discontinued...
Sad to be honest, but it seems like the market for those kind of games is not really there, I think the developers of Motorsport Manager discontinued the PC version and do Mobile Apps only these days. |

If you really want to dive deep into a racing management sim my choices would be the old Edward Grabowski games (GP World being the best, probably, but GP Manager 1 and 2 were great too) or Motorsport Manager, although I found the latter to be kind of on the easy side. IIRC after a few years I was finishing 1-2 every race with pay drivers.
And the Yuki promotion is official now.

Indeed. https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/a...4YYPhhMJpHqUiO
Would be great if he actually challenged Max but I highly doubt it.

Unless Red Bull somehow get Lando or Charles in the other car, I wouldn't count on anyone challenging Max. As quick as Albon or Sainz are they didn't have anything for him either. I think people massively underrate how good Checo was, tbh.

Fun little exercise; Dutch Max’ points scoring rate (his points divided by other guy’s points) compared to his teammate(s) per season, so the ones that did better against him are at the top:
2017 Daniel Ricciardo – 0.84 2016 Daniel Ricciardo – 0.87 2019 Alex Albon – 1.28 2018 Daniel Ricciardo – 1.46 2022 Sergio Perez – 1.49 2023 Sergio Perez – 2.02 2020 Alex Albon – 2.04 2021 Sergio Perez – 2.08 2024 Sergio Perez – 2.88 2019 Pierre Gasly – 2.97 2016 Carlos Sainz – 3.25 2015 Carlos Sainz – 3.27 2025 Liam Perez-Lawson – I can’t divide by zero any more than he can drive that blue car Good luck, Yuki. You'll need it.

I have to say I've been pleasantly surprised with Yuki's interviews that I've seen since the swap. He seems to be relishing the challenge of driving that car and having Supermax as a measuring stick.

Doohan's crash was a little frightening. Yeesh.
And it appears Japan could use some of our rain. EDIT: Spoiler alert: grass is still on fire, yo.

Looks like your race strategy for tomorrow should consider more grass fires.
Fifth grass fire, I hear, this weekend, interrupting Q2.

No, because they're going to win tomorrow. That Red Bull is a ****box and I don't think even Goatstappen can pull one out over a full race.

Eh, let's wait and see how many orange cars he can run off the road tomorrow. It's his favorite thing to do.
