The St. Louis Cardinals have acquired right-handed reliever Edward Bazardo from the Seattle Mariners in exchange for outfielder Mike Siani and catcher Pedro Pages.
Signed as an international free agent by Boston in 2014, Bazardo finally reached the majors in 2023 while with Seattle.
He split that 2023 campaign between Seattle and Baltimore before returning to the Mariners.
In 2024, he pitched in 23 games at the major-league level going 2-0 with a 4.88 ERA.
For his career, the 29-year-old has worked in 49 MLB games going 3-0 with a 4.00 ERA.
The 25-year-old Siaini has spent time in the majors with the Cardinals and Cincinnati Reds since 2023.
A year ago, he played in 124 games/98 starts for the Cardinals during which he hit .228 with two home runs and 20 RBIs.
Considered an elite defender, Siani has a total of 141 career games to his credit, hitting .220 with two homers and the 20 RBIs.
Pages, 26, broke into the majors last season.
He played in 68 games for the Cardinals, starting 60, during which he hit .238 with seven home runs and 27 RBIs.
