The 1871 Philadelphia Athletics.
Haven't figured out how to get the same A on each shirt.
Tried to have them to look forward.
Never really paid attention to how young most of the players were.
Because the photos i have were a lot of them as older players and not in uniform. In most cases it was all that was available.
These look more like a baseball team from 1871.
From left to right
Al Reach, Count Sensenderfer, Dick McBride, Fergy Malone and George Bechtel

Thanks.
If anyone else wants to post players they made with AI in this thread go ahead.
The more the better.

Took this original photo of Ruth and AI gave me this.
I wanted to try and phot that is harder to see as far as details.
Sometimes i like action photos but in the original it is black and white and harder to see. The ai photo will lose some detail when scaled down but i think it might still be easier to see.
I just told the ai to make the person 32 and in a 1927 New York Yankees uniform

I've been trying it out on both baseball pics (I posted one in the krantzbucks thread) and old family photos to see if the results are good enough to entice me to pony up for a plus subscription.

While the generated pictures are of stunning quality, more often than not, facially they don't really look like the people in the originals. I've played with different prompts but have not come up with any that give consistently good results.

That said, the speed with which the technology is advancing is impressive so I look forward to the time where I will want to use these apps on a regular basis. It's a double-edged sword though. I think we'll get to the point where when doing an image search on the internet, it will be next to impossible to differentiate between real and fake.

The line between real and fake during Google searches is what I'm primarily concerned with, especially for novice baseball researchers. I can envision a journalist googling players for a story and accidentally using fake AI photos. Technology is a blessing and a curse.

To be honest I only use AI to improve bad quality photography or create a photo from a drawing and move the face to create FGs... most of what AI improved for me isn't post, I just use the new picture to update my works for the Facegen pack project.

Haven't we had likeness in many games by now?
Madden, MLB The Show, Civ 7 just to name a few.
But no historian would use Cleopatra from Civ 7 and say this is exactly what she looked like.
Don't get me wrong, AI can be impressive but i will always be impressed more by the human
photographer's skills. However i don't disagree with an indication that something is ai made.

I would prefer to use real photos but not all the photos we have are clear.
I know the ai isn't gonna get it perfect but if its in the ballpark then im ok with it.
Real photos are still the best choice but its also limited. If you want the player in a different
uniform or age then you have to find that photo and it may not exist.

I just look at ai as a tool. Even if i make all of my player photos ai, i would not choose to see a
real historical baseball film or book replaced with ai.

As far as my ai photos go, my skills are very limited if you could even call it that.
Others could make the players look way more closer to the real photos.

Might mix it up a bit. Go in season order from 1871 but then do a team from another year.

Heres some of the 1927 Yankees.
Trying out home and way jerseys. Will have to figure out what i like and how to get all players in same jersey.
Will have to go back and do home and away for the earlier teams i did.

Babe Ruth, Earle Combs, Herb Pennock, Tony Lazzeri and Waite Hoyt.
