I hate seeing Hasse go. Almost as much as I hated it Schoop was cut loose. I would be a flat-out terrible baseball executive given how attached I get to players. :-)

Eh. I'm going to give the A's (and the Astros and Marlins) the benefit of the doubt that they didn't know or didn't remember Miggy's issues with alcohol. I certainly didn't. It's been 12 years since he faced a DUI charge.

If there's any real insult to the A's gift, it's that the bottle they gave him is reportedly only worth $80.

Watching the Tigers finish their sweep of KC and I keep seeing adds for all the stuff they're doing for Miggy this weekend and I'm feeling... meh.

I understand who he is and the significance of him being a Tiger and a Hall of Famer, but I'm ready to move on from him. This entire Farewell Tour & Circus. Great Clown Show. Fireworks Daily! has been too much.

I think MLB needs to put a kibosh on farewell tours.

See ya, Miggy. Looking forward to next year without your giant contract.

Minus a 9-game losing streak in early June, the Tigers are 76-74.

They started slow, beginning 2-9 and ending April at 10-17. But then they went 16-11 in May before sliding into the aforementioned streak in June. However, they did finish June going 9-9 after the streak. They went 12-13 in July, finishing at 47-59. And struggled a bit in August, going 13-15. But they have shined, thus far, in September, going 16-9, heading into the final three games against Cleveland.

Minus the 9-game losing streak, the Tigers have been a .500 ballclub. They have a chance of ending in second place in a very weak division. But the psychology behind second versus third is huge. This is a vast improvement over 66-96. I'm excited to see where things go next year.

I am as hopeful as ever about the future. Love the direction from Harris. I have been okay with the Miggy tour mostly and love watching him get these last few hits in but the salary change for next year will be welcomed. Now we just need to get something of value out of Baez's deal!
