Personally I would say that it a matter of editorial choice, and as you have now taken over the workload, then it's your right. For what its worth I think that baseball pictures should take priority but then there will always be the exception to that rule, but when it comes to 19th century pics many are in street clothes and a color picture in street clothes maybe far superior than a blurred baseball pic, e.g. Frank Fennelly

By the way congrats to the Phillies for a well deserved World Series victory, from a Braves fan.
