Playing in manager mode, Ervin Santana's situation screws things up.
He's placed on the 60-man DL with the PED injury. After the 60-days, he's placed into rehab for a few days. When the rehab is up, he's called up despite having to still serve time for his suspension (for me, it's 12-days). |

On the issue of Santana,
I guess the game editor can't handle tricky contracts like JOHAN Santana, as I understand he will get $2,5m if making MLB roster. Is this as the buyout clause. Since I believe when playing I can edit this, but obviously not so in that special editor Markus and his mates got. Contracts do have some really strange and tricky things, but the buyout and this "if making the majors" perhaps should be in the setup (If someone have time to edit all these. Guess lots of them) |

I'm just curious about something. If this is the wrong place for it, I apologize.
I'm making a quickstart for 1977 and Rod Carew is listed as American. He's from Panama. |

(The decision of President Jimmy Carter to return the Canal Zone to Panama in 1979 was rather controversial; he was attacked over this by various Republican candidates during the 1980 Presidential campaign.) A similar case is Ron Gardenhire, who was born on a couch at the US army base in Butzbach, West Germany. Had he been born in a local hospital, he would still have been a US citizen, as a child of a serviceman abroad, but it would be correct to say he had been born "in West Germany". But since the base was leased US territory, and he was physically born on the base, he is properly listed as American. Same for Glenn Hubbard (Hahn AFB, born in the base hospital), Craig Leffert (97th General Hospital, Munich), Rob Belloir (base hospital, Heidelberg Army Barracks), and Mike Blowers (base hospital, Würzburg Army Base). In contrast, while current MLBers Jeff Baker (Bad Kissingen) and Edwin Jackson (Neu-Ulm) were born to U.S. servicemen in Germany, there was no military hospital in those cities (nearest to Bad Kissingen was Würzburg, nearest to Neu-Ulm was Augsburg) and so they were actually born in Germany. (Jackson, the son of an army cook, spent the first eight years of his life in Germany, and likely has dual citizenship.) So, yes, a bit of a mess, but the game has it right. (With one exception, that I'll note in a separate post, below.) They've even fixed this since v15, when Gardenhire was listed as being German. |

Rob Belloir is listed as being born in Heidelberg, TX, when, as noted above, he was born at the military installation in Heidelberg, West Germany. Still "American", but the hometown data is wrong.
Also, I suppose trainers count for roster sets, so let me repeat something I (probably erroneously) put in the Bug Report thread. The age for former Angels trainer Ned Bergert is off by 10 years; he was born in 1955 rather than 1965. His experience is likewise incorrect; the game lists "7 years", but Bergert was with the MLB club for 21 years (1990-2010) and the organization for 36 (1975-1990). There also seem to be too few trainers overall; perhaps some who served recently could be added to the DB? Not that I'd hire Tony LaRussa's Designated Steroid Injector, Barry "Needles" Weinberg, but it wasn't that long ago that he was in a major league clubhouse; he should probably be in the game. ETA: La Mirada (CA) HS shortstop Ethan Lopez (player #46096) is listed as a 17-year-old free agent. I can't find any reason why Lopez (currently committed to Hawai'i) wouldn't be in the upcoming draft class instead. Ethan Lopez profile at Perfect Game. And for those wishing for American-bottled fruit-flavored natural sparkling water (no carbonation, please!), may I suggest either Crystal Geyser or Arrowhead? Hey guys,
Been a bit since I posted. I wanted to send a little update. All the minor league roster stuff is done. Thank goodness. I was also able to tighten up the Indy league rosters for those of you that are using them. I have also spent some time on the personnel as well. And from the looks of it, the game is finally recognizing coaches for their actual preferred jobs, so GMs wanna be GMs and not Managers or Bench coaches like it used to do, which makes me happy. There's a considerable amount of new coaches added. I will be adding a ton more in the coming days and hopefully they'll make the next build, whenever that will be. Also, I was able to add all the rest of the top 30 International FAs for July 2nd, which is something I love doing. As well as adding new players to DSL/VSL teams that weren't there before. And a lot more draft prospects were added. Add all that to all the stuff the rest of the team finished on stats, International leagues, helping with coaches, minor league ratings and the draft, and I would say I would be happy and will finally start my official Dodgers game with the next build

Jeff Manto played for the Red Sox two different times in 1996 and the Indians in 1998. The game doesn't cover the third stat line for both seasons in his career stats.
Rich Thompson the outfielder doesnt have his 2004 mlb stats. I have a 19 year old named Kyle Lepper who has Denny Bautista's stats. Last edited by diesel230; 05-17-2015 at 04:20 PM. |
