BERNIE "School Boy" FRIEDKIN LW (1935-1940)
Hometown - Brooklyn, New York, USA 48(9)-11-16 Friedkin was an active fighter, squeezing 75 pro bouts into a five year career; a number of his bouts were scheduled a mere seven to ten days following a previous bout. He was only stopped twice in his career, the first time was against Young Chippie who took Bernie out in the seventh. Apparently, Friedkin wasn't hurt all that badly as he was back in the ring scoring a KO victory of his own a mere 15 days later! Given the wins that he piled up and the opponents that he faced, it is a little perplexing to note that he never fought for any sort of belt as a pro. Friedkin scored decision wins over Henry Hook, Jimmy Lancaster and Everett Rightmire. He drew with Petey Scalzo, twice with Mike Belloise, twice with Joey Fontana and with Kid Chocolate. His last three bouts before retiring, all losses, were to Rightmire, Scalzo and Charlie Varre.

Paul Koehler LW 1908-1917
Hometown - Cleveland, OH 8-6-5 (0) His overall rating is high but it had to be. He lost on points to Matty Baldwin (rated 8), 2 times to Johnny Kilbane (rated 10) and to Packey McFarland (10). Paul won on points over Kid Graves (8) twice and Young Otto (6). Also drew with Willie Ritchie (9) and Jack Goodman (6). |

Milwaukee light heavy. Rated many months ago by someone with a similar name. In fact, this is a re-post.

ARCHIE KEMP LW (1947-1949)
Hometown - Fitzroy, Victoria, Australia 5(1)-3-3 Kemp had a somewhat promising career going at 5-2-3 including draws with Frank Flannery and Roy Treasure when he met Jack Hassen in Sydney for the vacant Australian Lightweight title. Kemp was ahead through eight rounds, but Hassen began to control in the ninth and tenth. Midway through the eleventh, Hassen began to hit at will, he sensed that Kemp was in serious trouble and paused to look at the referee. The Official motioned for the bout continue, allowing Hassen to deliver the blows that gave him the title by knockout and caused Kemp's death the next morning due to cerebral bleeding. The match effectively ended both fighters' careers as Hassen never seemed to recover from the traumatic event.

Hans Henrik Palm WW (1976-1982)
Birthplace - Lyngby, Denmark 39-3-0 (18) Hans started his career in the JLW division posting some wins over some very good JLW's. Moved up to the Welterweights and did not do well against some average WW's. Boxrec has him as a WW, so thats what I rated him as and I don't think he will even come close to his 39-3-0 mark in the welters. |

Scot, thanks for the extra file of Palm at JLW. That's probably the one I'll use. If you ever have a minute, would you mind zipping your memo folder a emialing it to me? If it makes too large of a zip file or is a hassle at all just forget about it - thanks.
There is probably more of a story to this guy than I am aware of. Born in Korea, fought out of Denmark (likely to have been adopted, given the norse name). He fought for two years, won an EBU title and disappeared LARS LUND JENSEN JLW (1986-1990) Born - Seoul, South Korea Home - Denmark 10(3)-3-0 Jensen had a short but steep trajectory for his career. Winning of nine of his first ten bouts landed him a shot at the EBU Jr Lightweight belt with Piero Morello. He stopped Morello in ten to claim the title but lost it a mere six weeks later being stopped in twelve by Racheed Lawal. Jensen took a few years off before losing one more bout and leaving the ring for good.

Christopher, I sent you a zip of my fighters biography folder. I was not thinking when I made the zip, it is large and took awhile to send. I should have broke it up into 3 or 4 zip folders. If it takes to long to download let me know and I'll send it again but in several zips instead of one.

HERB GODDARD MW (1889-1890)
Hometown - Sydney, New South Wales, Australia 0-4-0 Herb was Joe Goddard's less talented brother. This Goddard fought future Aussie and British MW champ Jim Hall four times over a 15 month period. Having suffered four straight KO defeats, Herb gave up the ring rather than bother with the search for a new opponent.
