I'm not sure it's your .prk file. I think it's more of an OOTP issue. I'll test it out a little bit more tonight. Last edited by drksd4848; 08-25-2016 at 05:51 PM. |

It's an export of all the park settings in the game. What pictures you use, the dimensions, capacity all of that stuff. In your game go to a stadium and select import manually from a file and choose the park file Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Funny: I saw the old Roosevelt Stadium scoreboard. Back when I was trying to learn Sketchup, I thought that would be a good one to model. Clem has all the diagrams, but it was impossible to find color pictures. Last edited by drksd4848; 08-26-2016 at 09:10 AM. |

BTW, Silvam:
Have you seen this site? Baltiimore Memorial Stadium - Yesterday's Game Fenway Park - Yesterday's Game Excellent shot of the Green Monster Scoreboard with the digital fielding position display. It's a little depressing to see how unbelievable gaudy Fenway has become, thanks to Larry Lucchino and company. It pains me to look at it from 2003 on. There are a few more ballparks on there as well. Last edited by drksd4848; 08-26-2016 at 12:15 PM. |

They rebuilt the wall prior to the '76 season with aluminum, along with soft padding at the base. They shortened the scoreboard and ditched said digital portion. That's also when it appears - to my eye anyway - the ballpark was painted the familiar "Fenway Green" we all know today. (before that, it was the darker khaki green we see in the pic) The whole idea for doing that was to keep the players from injuring themselves. The aluminum with padded was more forgiving on your body (or in this case, Fred Lynn. It still didn't stop Yaz still cracking a rib after colliding with scoreboard in '82 - the only part that was NOT covered in padding). This idea was tossed to the wayside by greedy Lucchino, Werner and Henry in order to ring more dollars out the park with adverts in place of the padding. (I still love Sox. I just absolutely hate what they have become. Actually, just hate that the ownership has turned Fenway and the franchise into a "feel-good circus show". God forbid Spineless Henry and Hollywood Tom grow a pair and fire the stupid manager. But this is another discussion for different forum ![]() Last edited by drksd4848; 08-26-2016 at 03:22 PM. |

Good info. Thanks.
You can hate what the sox have become, but there's no arguing with 3 World Series rings Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

To be a Red Sox fan was to be a Calvinist. It was all about suffering. I suffered. My mom suffered, My brothers suffered. My grandfather suffered. And that was just how it was. And deep down inside I was proud of that. They weren't like any other franchise. They didn't lose, they'd rip your soul out and stomp on it. What other ball club could do that? The Cubs? Please. The Cubs were just a bunch of sackless losers. The Red Sox would make you suffer. And you'd come back every season and beg for more. I did. But the Red Sox lost something when they won. All their character vanished. They lost their identity, their hats turned pink and they became way over marketed. And the fan base became nauseating. The last time I was at Fenway was 2005. I sat next to a know-it-all pink hat girl and all I wanted to do was slug her in the mouth. She was insufferable and ruined the game. I told her I had forgotten more about the Red Sox then she'd ever know and to shut her damn mouth. By the 7th inning, she left and my buddy and I gave her a standing ovation, I'd been to Fenway so many times prior to that and never felt that way. Now I'm like a stranger in a strange land. I can't even watch them on TV anymore because Hollywood Tom has made NESN absolutely unwatchable. BTW, all that stuff about the wall came off the top of my head. I didn't have to look up ![]() Last edited by drksd4848; 08-26-2016 at 05:41 PM. |

I hear ya I live in MA and have been a sox fan my whole life. I'm happy the suffering is over. I don't need that anymore. I love being the city of champions.

drksd4848 - this is great stuff - to hear all of this history as you are telling it is great. Even though I'm a lifelong fan of The Bombers, I tip my cap to you. I love hearing good historical facts and the tidbits that most folks don't know or have long forgotten. I agree with you - and I'll broaden it out a bit - I tend to think it is an affliction that has had a very pronounced impact on professional sports in general. The games aren't what they once were. Neither are the venues. And, as you said, the fan base(s) (plural because, again, I think this has had major impact across the board - literally all teams, all sports.) Look at the NFL - what a three-ring circus that has become, both on and off the field. The NBA and NHL aren't all that far behind. It really feels like the 'purity' that once was a huge part of professional sports has long since flown off into that sweet night. It's all about money - marketing - branding. The game takes a back seat. Tradition takes a back seat. And how many know these kinds of wonderful stories and details about a venue or a team?
Just two cents worth on the topic. BTW - if you happen to have more stories about the history of Fenway (and the Red Sox) - I for one would be more than happy to hear them. These stories are what the game was built on. Would love to hear more of them. ![]() Last edited by LouGerig_IronHorse; 08-26-2016 at 06:22 PM. |

Yeah, they may have won three world series, but Henry, Werner and when he was there Lucchino (and his disgusting butt-boy Dr. Charles) are lying, back-stabbing, dirt bags. Werner is such a snake. When I heard Lucchino is going Red Sox hall of fame I almost threw up on myself. I can't wait to hear all the dirt they leak about John Farrell after he 'resigns'. Because they don't have the testicles to actually fire someone. Gawd... I soooo hijacked this thread. Silvam...Please post another stadium. It'll force me to shut my mouth. ![]() Last edited by drksd4848; 08-26-2016 at 11:33 PM. |
