Regarding Ismailov.....the WBO really hit him up for sanctioning fees for a BS belt, then getting shafted against Ramirez, then fighting Lebedev for another BS title. Ripped him off big time.

It's no big deal but when I am given a long list I am discouraged from tackling it. I have big lists of unrated fighters whose data I have already looked up on boxrec and I am often prone to concentrate on these rather then overly numerous unresearched requests.

As far as I'm concerned ALL boxing titles other than the world titles recognized by Ring Magazine are bogus. Even the once esteemed USBA and NABF titles are meaningless. The European Title, now that they removed the division between European Union and External European Union countries may eventually come to mean something once again and the BBB of C British title still has a little prestige attached to it, but I can't understand why any promoter or manager would be willing to pay a sanctioning fee to any of these ripoff organizations for the right to compete for or hold one of their idiotic titles. Even the belts look cheap.

Sometimes I feel guilty about mocking these imbecilic titles that seem to proliferate boxing nowadays. It's too easy! But I can't help it sometimes. Ruy Da Gloria is the Sao Paulo State Cruiserweight Title holder (LPB version). That means there's at least one other Sao Paulo State Cruiserweight Title and two such titles for every weight division. That's kind of like having two Wisconsin State champs for each of the 17 weight classes.

I've seen Donovan "Da Bomb" George fight on local undercards here three or four times. He's a colorful kid and his management team always seemed to promote him well here. I just don't know when he shortened his name to Don.

He was Donovan in the fights I saw. Last time I saw him live was in 07. He was inactive in 08. I think someone had alleged an assault on George's part, if memory serves. The ring announcers always had a good time with the name Donovan when i saw him. They'd stretch it into seven or eight syllables. I thought it was cooler than Don. Don is a common name (and don't I know it.

) Donovan seems to set him apart more. Since I saw him fight as Donovan in his early days it is hard for me to see him as Don.
