There are probably 100's of non calls in similar situations. I don't know why people call this the worst. For it to not be PI, the ball has to be above the two players. It was probably a 10th of a second behind. That's as close as it gets.
I beg to differ

People constantly complain that the refs make these game ending calls instead of letting them play. This is the reason why.

If the ball is "right there", is never touched, & the guy gets hit, that is a pretty good indicator he was interfered with. So if the ball is "right there" there was no excuse not to the throw the flag. :06 mark, :35 mark & :39 mark it wasn't a difficult call. The DB even admitted he did it on purpose cause he didn't want to give up the TD. So he wasn't even trying to disguise it. It was so egregious, he got fined afterward for a helmet to helmet hit. So even if they missed the most obvious PI in the history of civilization, they surely should have flagged him for a PF Unnecessary Roughness.

Worst missed call ever & it is silly to even debate an excuse for the officials on that one.

I can't believe the Steelers went with him. I fully expected an unknown under-the-radar assistant in his mid 30's low 40's to run the sidelines til 2050.

They had their differences but they know each other very well, which I think means the process would be easier than him trying to develop a new QB. And I believe Pittsburgh is still in win now mode looking at their current roster. But who really knows? We'll see.

That loss is on McVay. He should have gone for two when they scored to make it 26-31. If they make it they tie with a FG when they get to 4th & 5 at the seven instead of having to go for it. Or they can try to get into FG range with 25 seconds left instead of needing a TD. Kicking to make it 27-31 is useless.

I've said it was a PI, but it was close. The ref just said what I said. But I did get a better angle of the play and the ball looked to be 4-6 feet behind the action. But in real time that's probably not even a second. After looking at that better angle, I can say most plays like that are flagged.

I thought they should have went for two on their last two TDs. Had they been down by 3, they could have tied it up instead of going for it on 4th down.

I don't mind this SB despite the teams. Mainly because they are totally different teams. But I am amazed at how quickly the Patriots have returned.
