Anyone know if there is a way to edit the teams in the import teams function for custom leagues? I want to have all the info for the teams I have pre-made so when I progress through the years I can just add them in quickly. They are all custom teams so it would be nice if all of that info was just in there ready to go and I can just load it up.

Hello and thank you for this amazing game and all the work you're put on it.

If that can help you, here is a link to the swiss National League modus for 2022-23 : https://www.sihf.ch/media/23281/modus-nl-2022-23.pdf

As you can see :
- 14 teams, 52 games (each team against each other x4)
- pre-playoffs for the spot 7 to 10 with the 2 winners to go to the playoffs (best of 3)

- seaon end for the 11 and 12
- playout serie (best of 7) between 13 and 14
- the loosers of the playout play a promotion/relegation with the Swiss league champion (tier 2), best of 7

As for next year too, the foreigner player limit as increase to 6 (!)

In generally, I hope that on FHM9 you will put more emphasis on the europeans leagues (reputations, realistic transfers, link with the youth teams U20, U18, etc.)

Is there a better way to create an unplayable league in a custom game than saving the game as a quickstart? I don't want to lose my GM when I do it.

No, there's not. If you're talking in terms of like logos and colours, then you kind of can. You just need to have the logos available in the quickstart_games folder ( I think it's just modern day start, but it's been a while). You can also attach the Hex(?) Code for the colors at the end via _ and it'll auto default to certain colors.

I don't really know where to post this so I post this here.
In the Asia League Ice Hockey there is an Russianteam named PSK Sakhalin, they're allowed 20 foreigners in their squad, while the rules in the league is only allowing 2. Is this a bug? A typo in the code? Or is there something special with them just because they're a russianteam?

I guess it's probably a bug, according to Wikipedia PSK Sakhalin did not have a special treatment regarding imports :

"Prior to the 2018–19 season, the players from Russia were treated as imports if playing for a non-Russian teams; since the 2018–19 season, each team can have two import players, while the players with Russian citizenship are no longer treated as imports".

According to a message posted this month on their website, PSK Sakhalin just left Asia League, so that probably won't be an issue in FHM9

Hi folks, just started my first game and a couple of seasons in to an AHL career my club's NHL affiliate has flooded my roster with crap 1 and 1.5 star players.

Is there any way to demote some of them to free up roster spots for better players on AHL contracts?

I'm surprised this hasn't been asked before but I can't find any trace of it. After raising the cap year over year for 20 years, my current cap is over 250 million dollars. However, the game will not allow me to pay a player more than 20 millions a season. Yet, the top players are often asking for more than that so even if I try to meet their demand, I can't and so I have to trade them or lose them for nothing. Is there a reason that it won't rise above that number no matter how high the cap ceiling is? Not to mention, I also noticed that the game won't allow the cap to rise over 300 Millions, I tested it on July 1st to see if there was a limit and that's as high as it goes. Is there a way to change that?

Not unless you're controlling the parent team as well.

Ahh damn. Guess I have to make do with forcing 5 goalies into 2 spots.

Thanks for the reply.

Hi, I'm a new player of FHM and the managerial side of hockey as well, and I have a question about the Season objective and Job security.

I'm with the Anaheim Ducks and the objective is Rebuilding. My general idea in the first year is to get the team younger with trading older players for younger ones whose potential is better than the older player. If needed I am willing to add low round draft pick.

The owner is seemed to be discontent after I did one such trade, and it seems he is angry again. He is happy with the team record, but discontent with my work as a GM (ok, I signed 1 star Devante Smith-Pelly purely because of nostalgia for 1 year, but I don't think this validates his anger). Is there any clear indication in the game why is the owner unhappy?

Thank you in advance!

Fan Happiness can tell you some, but even if the owner tells you to rebuild, it doesn't mean they want to lose every game. If you're also trading away a lot of longtime, well liked veterans, that may be causing issues too.

You need to lose, but you need to make sure you win some too. It's a confusing thing for sure, but so is it in the real NHL.

Yeah, the fans can get real testy if you're moving popular players out of town. Too much of that and it's torches and pitchforks in the streets!

Thanks for the answer!

I traded away Zach Aston-Reese, Gerry Mayhew, Trevor Carick, Brogan Rafferty, two 3rd round pick, and one 5th round pick, two players rights with 2,5 strars potential. I got two 21 years old and one 23 years old, each has 3,5 stars potential, and a 4th round pick.

I'm 22-25-5, 25th in the standings, the fan happiness is +72, but the job security is around 30%.

Am I giving away too many draft picks? My reasoning was that in the 3rd round I won't find players with 3,5 star potential.

I think the GM/Owner interactions should be way better. At very least the expectations should be way more clearly explained, and discontentment should be specifically explained. We should be able to know what we did that 'angered' the owner. And 'rebuild' for instance should have a subset of more specific and clear goals - maybe to acquire draft picks, or move an aging vet, or acquire a prospect of 3 stars or higher, etc.

I'm curious about the math for goalie of the year trophies. Is it based off of cumulative star rating points or their rankings across wins, Save Percentage and GAA?

Hi to all the FHM staff! I've been looking into starting an online league made up of CHL teams, but when I went to set up the file I got a message saying you can't play as junior teams in online leagues. Is there any way to get around this, and if not is there any chance this would change in FHM 9? I'd appreciate any help I can get

Are we able to back out of a game in progress and save like we can in OOTP?

Not at the moment, but that'd be a fantastic addition for nine or beyond!
